Hi, guys! Happy Holidays! Sorry I haven't updated for so long. College works kept me busy! I was delayed on Thanksgiving theme, so I decided to keep my chapters on schedule, despite it was so late! I know this is kinda short, but this is a start-of-the-holidays theme. Have fun.
One day in Bird Island, the holidays are coming, and the birds are preparing. And, for the first time ever, they are celebrating with their new friends, the pigs and the eagles. Each species is celebrating the holidays on their own, but now, they are sharing traditions. This holiday they have to work on is Thanksgiving. According to Aggie, most humans eat meat as main course, so she volunteered to plan along with those who are in charge of the Thanksgiving feast. Not only because aggie has so many ideas for Holidays, but also, she volunteered because she wanted to get her mind off of Red for a while, giving her head and heart a break. She wanted to be happy-go-lucky again, forgetting Red for a while will be a good thing.
Aggie landed on the streets of Bird Island with her backpack as she was about to go to Bird Court to meet up with Judge Peckinpah.
Just then, she encountered with the birds who started her misery, but she couldn't express it now that she forgave them,
"Aggie!" Chuck greeted as he, Bomb and Silver approached her.
"Hey, guys," Aggie replied sadly
"Glad that you're recovering," Bomb smiled
But Aggie still frowned, "I'm slowly recovering. Things had been horrible."
"Aggie, could you just please give Red a chance? We're not together anymore. He's all yours." Silver said
Aggie shook her head, she couldn't believe that topic came in all over again, "No way! Silver I do forgive you and I try to forget everything about you and Red, but… I'm afraid he's going to hurt me again."
"No he will not," Chuck assured her.
"Really? How could you be sure?"
"He said so himself, and we know you love him too. You still do."
"Of course I do, but I love myself as well, and I have to think of myself… before I'll get hurt again," Aggie had enough of talking about Red as she turned around them, and headed to work.
Chuck, Bomb, and Silver watched Aggie walk away in concern.
"I just hope planning Thanksgiving is gonna make her feel better," Silver hoped.
At the Bird Court, Peckinpah was waiting for Aggie as she made it on time from the door.
"Hi, Ms. Aggie, are you ready to plan Thanksgiving this year?" the judge asked in excitement
"Yeah, I guess so, Your Honor. I gotta get my mind off of thing," Aggie said
"Good, let's get started."
The whole day, Peckinpah and Aggie were planning for Thanksgiving like food, decorations, speeches, and a place where they all can eat, but everything that Aggie did went wrong.
For the decorations, papers and drawings were approved, but Aggie used a chainsaw to carve the wood into a statue of a turkey. Next, when planning where the birds and pigs can feast, Aggie drew a picture of all birds and pigs in game version in a floating raft table in the middle of the ocean with a shark dove down on them to eat them, much to Peckinpah and Cyrus' confusion. Lastly, when discussing food, and this time, with Leonard and Zeta since every species has their own diet, Aggie couldn't help but thinking her food is her friends as she attempted to take a bite on Peckinpah, but Cyrus, Leonard and Zeta held her back. But then, Aggie attempted to bite Leonard and Zeta. She then scattered around like a wild animal as the birds and pigs ran away from her.
And hour later, Aggie got worn off from running around almost attempting to eat anyone since she's still a human as she rested at a log near the beach.
Red, Chuck, Bomb, Silver, Matilda, Terence, Stella, Peckinpah, Leonard, Courtney and Garry came to Aggie, while Zeta took care of the paranoid birds and pigs that Aggie attempted to eat earlier.
"Ms. Aggie, I don't think you can plan this Thanksgiving if you don't put a smile on your face," Peckinpah said, "You used to be angry if you're not happy, but now you're sad. What happened to our happy-go-lucky hero?"
"I'm so sorry, Your Honor, I'm just… not in a mood," Aggie panted from exhaustion from going feral.
"No, Aggie, we're so sorry," Stella apologized
"Yeah, we didn't mean to upset you." Courtney added.
"We were trying to make you feel better." Matilda explained
Aggie then cried with a broken voice, "Nothing can make me feel better. My life is miserable now. I just don't think I can do this."
"If you aren't up for planning thanksgiving, don't worry. We can have it next week before Thanksgiving arrives," Peckinpah told her.
"Yeah, take all the time you need. You plan fast too if Thanksgiving is a or 2 away," Chuck suggested
"And if you need to cry, this shirt's already ruined. So snot 'em if you got 'em," Garry pulled his coat for Aggie to blow her beak.
"I'm not just talking about Thanksgiving," Aggie stood up, and faced her friends, "Guys, I'm sorry, but... I'm leaving Bird Island or this world."
"Leaving for a few days?" Bomb guessed.
"No, I'm leaving for a while."
"What?" Red gasped.
"No!" Bomb exclaimed.
"You can't leave!" Leonard added
"I can't stay. I just want to go home," Aggie then left her friend, going back to the Eagle Family's home to start packing.
"I can't believe Aggie is leaving us," Matilda frowned
"I can't believe we're losing one of our good heroes," Red said, feeling guilty that he might be the reason why Aggie wanted to leave.
Later at night, the birds and pigs met at Red's house to discuss the Aggie leaving situation.
"I can't believe Aggie's really packing her bags to leave our world tomorrow," Red started.
And she can't stop crying. She's probably booger-blasted every shirt Garry owns by now," Leonard reported.
"I just don't know what I'm going to do without her," Garry frowned.
"A lot less laundry, that's for sure," Courtney guessed.
Just then, the Eagle Family peaked through Red's windows to join the meeting.
"We just heard that Aggie is leaving! Red, Silver, what did you do?" Zeta accused the ex-bird couple.
"Nothing!" Red and Silver shrugged.
"You know, Bird Island just won't be the same without Aggie," Stella said.
"Yes, we must try and convince her to stay," Hal suggested.
"Look, guys, I don't want to lose Aggie either. But if she has to leave in order to get through this, then we have to support her," Red explained.
"Red's right. If this is what Aggie needs, then we should let her go," Ruby agreed.
"So we are to sit around and do nothing?" Bubbles inquired.
No. We're going to throw Aggie the best goodbye party this camp has ever seen," the red bird replied.
"We're gonna postpone the Thanksgiving plans for now, and set up a goodbye party for Ms. Aggie," Peckinpah added.
"Yeah. That's a great idea. Aggie loves parties, even goodbye ones!" Chuck nodded.
"I'm in!" Leonard raised his hoof, then the rest of the birds and pigs.
The next day, when Aggie was ready to finish packing in her room, Silver came all the way in the Eagle Family's house to get Aggie.
She came in from the open door, and said, "Hey, Aggie, come with me. I want to show you something."
"Ah, I have to open my portal home," Aggie zipped her bag close.
"Don't worry, this won't take long," the silver bird said as she grabbed Aggie's wrist and dragged her out.
When Aggie and Silver made it down on the beach, the birds and pigs were together with balloons and streamers. There was also a table with food and cake, a board with pictures of her and her friends through 10 years, and an object covered with a white cloth.
"Surprise!" The birds and pigs shouted.
"Oh, my golly! What is all this?" Aggie chuckled when she startled at the surprise.
"We just want to show you how much we love you, by paying tribute to the greatest friend and one of the greatest heroes of all time," Silver explained.
"Aggie, you have meant so much to everyone here at Bird Island and Piggy Island. That is why we are throwing a goodbye party," Chuck added.
Then, the Blues, Roy, Rebecca, Zoe, Viv, and Sam-Sam dragged Aggie to the covered object with a white cloth.
"Aggie, you have shaped us in so many amazing ways," Jay started.
"So, we wanted to return the favor and 'shape' you," Jake said.
The hatchlings pulled the cloth to uncover a statue of Aggie made out of wood and leaves for the body, and a coconut with flowers and yarns for the head and hair.
"This Aggie statue will forever stand on the grounds of Bird Island to honor you," Roy spoke.
"Because you are head and shoulders above the rest," Rebecca added, until the coconut head of Aggie's statue fell off, "Okay, just shoulders."
"Moving on…" Ruby turned Aggie to Bomb.
"Aggie, I've been learning from you since the day we met. In fact, everybody here in Bird Island has learned so much from you," Bomb confessed his speech as he sat on the chair, and the hatchlings tied him on the chair with ropes, "These hatchlings. are all tying different knots that you taught them. These knots symbolize the unbreakable bond between you and everybody in the whole Bird Island," After the speech, he turned to the hatchlings, "Nice work, guys. Okay, you can untie me now," But the hatchlings chuckled and left Bomb to be tied on the chair, "Hey, come back!"
"Ah, the old 'tie 'em and goodbye 'em.' Classic," Aggie snickered.
Bomb managed to get up, despite being tied on the chair, and chased after the hatchlings to untie him, "Hey, get back here!"
Then, Red led Aggie to a paper board with all of her pictures with the birds, red paper hearts, and words that said, "We Love Aggie", "And this mural represents everything you mean to us."
But the moment interrupted when Bomb stumbled on the table, which flipped the cake, and splat all over Aggie.
Bomb got free from the chair that got broken after stumbling down, "Shall we serve the cake now?"
Aggie licked the icing on her face, "Mmmm, cookies n' cream, my favorite.
"I am so sorry, Aggie. We just wanted to show you how much you mean to us, but we couldn't even do that right," Debbie cried.
"Actually, Debbie…" Aggie tried to explain, but Debbie kept on talking at a rapid pace.
"All we had to do was throw a simple party and give you the tribute you deserve…"
"But Debbie, I…"
"But we messed it all up! And now I'm losing my best friend…"
"Debbie! You're not losing your best friend!"
Mighty Eagle asked, "What do you mean?"
"I mean I'm not leaving!" Aggie admitted
"You're not?" Glenn gasped.
"But I thought you wanted to go home," Courtney said.
"I did, but... After seeing everything you've done to make me feel loved, I know this is where I want to be," Aggie smiled.
"So you're staying?!" Red exclaimed
"Absolutely!" Aggie nodded.
The birds, pigs and eagles cheered. Aggie also felt better that she decided to stay in this world for a little while.
In her bedroom, Aggie started to unpack, until she heard a whine behind the door.
"Red, you can whine all you want, but I['m not getting back with you, and we're not gonna serve lechon baboy for Thanksgiving. The pigs are our friends now," Aggie said, but she can still hear whining. When she opened her door, she found a dog running into her room
"Oh! Hey there, little fella! You're awfully cute," She picked up the puppy, and hugged it.
Just then, Red, Chuck, Bomb, Silver, Matilda, Stella, Leonard, Courtney, Mighty Eagle, Zeta and Debbie came in as well
"So, we found the food thief when we had our food meeting yesterday. He's the one who's been stealing the food we reserved for Thanksgiving from the mess hall," Matilda explained
"Aww, he's so sweet," Aggie cooed at the little puppy.
"He doesn't have any tags. He might be a stray," Stella smiled.
That's how you got all your pets back home, right? They are all strays," Zeta reminded
Aggie gave a sharp look at her friends, "Okay, I see what's going on here…"
"Aggie, we realize you shouldn't be sad when you still want to stay here," Silver said
"If you want to stay here, you should be happy because this is what you want," Courtney added
"You're right. It's my decision to stay, and I should be happy with my decision, not living in darkness, Aggie admitted and nodded.
"So, what do you think, Aggie? Do you want to keep him?" Bomb asked.
"He'd be the perfect mascot. He's adorable and he can tolerate the bad food," Chuck convinced her,
"In that case, welcome to the family," Aggie told the puppy, as it licked her in response, "You're gonna need a name. Got any ideas?"
The puppy then barked at Aggie's stuffed turkey toy on her bed.
"Why's he barking at your turkey?" Debbie questioned.
When Aggie looked at her stuffed turkey and the puppy, she understood, "Oh, I get it. He wants to be called Turk! Is that right, boy?" The puppy responded by licking her face, "I'll take that slobber as a yes!"
"I'll get one of Garry's coats," Leonard said before leaving.
Well, this is the chapter. I got the references from the Disney series, Bunk'd.
Note: Lechon baboy means "roasted pig" that is popular in the Philippines. The Philippines doesn't have Thanksgiving, but the food there is good 😋.
I hope you guys like this chapter, despite it was a little delayed. Merry Christmas, everybody! Enjoy celebrating Christmas, despite of this COVID-19.
