Sasuke is having a hard time finding a gift for his girlfriend for Christmas. That is, until he happens upon a unique looking snow globe in the window of an antique store.
P.S. Merry Christmas to all!
The dark-haired teen groaned lowly as he ran a large hand down the full length of his face before rubbing at the back of his neck in frustration. Sasuke Uchiha wasn't normally someone to be 'stumped' when he's put in any situation; but this one... this issue he had been having for at least a few days now was definitely bring his poor mind to a complete blank; he hadn't a clue as to how to rectify it either.
'What in the world am I supposed to do?'
The only think he knew with absolute certainty (the one thing that was very much clear to the young man) was that he simply had to get his girlfriend something for Christmas... but what to get her was the part that was puzzling to him; causing him to scratch at his head for hours but it always ended with the same result... absolutely nothing came to mind. Which is why Sasuke was growing more and more frustrated by the second, by the minute, by the hour and also by the day as they all seemed to be fly past him at warp speed; bringing the young man closer and closer to the final day in which he would be able to find something before time had officially run out. He was never last minute about anything; that is... until now.
The really bad part was that the young Uchiha KNEW for a fact that Sakura had already bought him something and apparently, according to both Naruto and Shikamaru... it was perfect for him; she had done a good job.
He found that his friends had been of little help...
...and his family hadn't been much help either when he had asked them what he should do.
He was completely alone in this... and he felt an impending doom looming over his head as time ran out at a swift pace.
Oh, Sasuke knew Sakura very well, that wasn't the issue in finding the perfect gift. He also knew that his girlfriend wouldn't be bothered if he got her something or not. Material things didn't matter to her; which was one of the many things they he appreciated about his girlfriend. But even still, the young man felt compelled to try and find the perfect gift anyway and so he contemplated his next move over and over again in his mind. He sighed with resignation as he shoved his hands deeply into his jackets pockets as he continued to walk down the small sidewalk; unsure of his real destination as he continued to wander aimlessly through the town's square.
'Come on Uchiha, think! What would Sakura like? I can't just get her another book; I've given her hundreds of those... nor would I know what kind of clothing she would like... so that's not an option either. Ugh, this is just so... annoying.'
While Sasuke was still deep in thought, he failed to notice a short little sign that was placed just outside of the local antique store and proceeded to nearly trip over it but somehow managed to catch himself at the last minute before he fell on his face. His eyes glanced over the store in a lazy fashion until something caught his attention from the corner of his eye.
There was something magical about the object...
... something about the way that it seemed to glow...
...something about the two small figurines that were cuddling up closely together that reminded him so much of himself and Sakura.
It was beautiful...
...somehow it clicked in his mind as he starred at the unique object that this was the perfect gift for his beloved girlfriend.
Sasuke knew that he had to have it. The young man simply had to get it for her and so with a sure hand he pulled the door open to the quaint little store and walked through the threshold with a steady and confident stride.

Her boyfriend Sasuke seemed unusually nervous tonight, which was highly unusual for the teen and so she placed a small hand gently onto his upper arm to try and gather his attention; to try and calm him down. Her pink brows creased with worry but he refused to meet her gaze as he continued to stare at the floor beneath his feet; this was also unusual behavior for the male who was normally a very confident and slightly cocky individual. Sakura grew worried.
"Sasuke... what's the matter," she asked almost anxiously as her grip on his arm tightened just slightly.
"Hn. Nothing." His short answer wasn't unusual but the dismissive tone in which he spoke to her was. Her worry grew as her lips pulled down into a small frown. Sakura scooted slightly closer to him but Sasuke didn't even acknowledge her as he remained in his previous position; unmoved and unchanged in both his appearance and his demeanor.
"It's Christmas Sasuke. It's the time of year to be thankful and joyous. I... I want us... no, I want you to be happy and I can tell that you aren't because something seems to be bothering you. Please tell me what it is? Maybe I can help..."
"It's nothing. Here." He thrust his hand out to her and practically dumped his gift to her in her lap. Sakura looked at him a few more minutes but he quickly turned his head away; his cheeks dusted a gentle shade of pink that had her smiling softly.
'So... this is what's bothering him huh. Is Sasuke nervous about his gift for me? He doesn't need to be. I'm sure that I will love it.'
And love it she did.
The paper wrapped around the small box had a rather delicate looking pattern of greens, reds and blues which surrounded it in a pristine manner. A brightly colored ribbon was wrapped around it beautifully and she just knew that his mother was probably the one who wrapped it. She almost didn't want to open it... almost being the key word and when she did, Sakura was left completely breathless and speechless.
Her bright, green irises widened as she lifted the delicate object slowly from its wrappings and glanced into the small glass orb that made up the majority of the gift in wonder.
Small specks of white littered the bottom of it in a thin powder of what appeared to be fake snow.
Tiny, brick buildings surrounded the backside of the snow globe and looked to be decorated with colorful strings of Christmas lights with some of them having the occasional row of garland draped half hazardously around a fence or in a windowsill. A couple even had the occasional tiny wreath placed onto a door or a candle in some of their windows.
The small, blueish pond in the middle glistened in the twinkling lights that were strewn across the short, little bridge that ran across its middle. The whole of it was surrounded by different shaped and sized trees that also had some of the small flakes of white scattered across their thick, green branches.
What caught Sakura's eye the most however was none of that. It just so happened to be the two lone figures that stood wrapped in each other's arms, standing directly in the middle of all of the wonderful but chaotic scenery.
One, the male figure, had jet-black hair atop his head...
...and the other; she had bubblegum-colored locks atop hers.
Both of them were dressed in what appeared to be warm winter garments and the male figurine had his head lowered so that his forehead was pressed firmly against his female partners. They were huddled closely together in a lover's warm embrace.
Sakura's one small hand went up to rest upon her chest and she felt her throat tightened as her emotions overwhelmed her; for a brief moment that is. "S-Sasuke...I... don't know what to say..." She was unaware that her boyfriend had taken her answer as a bad sign and he began to feel slightly sick to the stomach as it began to twist into uncontrollable knots. Sasuke decided to try and backtrack a little from the situation as he offered her an out, of sorts.
"You...you don't like it do you? I'm sorry Sakura. I should have..." Sasuke's speech was cut short when Sakura flung her arms around his neck and squeezed him tightly to her. Her hot, wet tears began to stain his pale skin as she pressed her damp face into the side of his bare neck. Slowly, he allowed his arms to come up and wrap around her before he tilted his head to rest his cheek on the top of her head. "So... does this mean that you do like it?"
Sakura pulled away from him slightly so that he could see her gentle smile. Her small palms came up to cup either side of his face and she began to pull him slowly towards her. "Of course, I do you idiot. I absolutely LOVE it. Thank you so much for the wonderful gift, Sasuke. I will treasure it always." Sakura gave her boyfriend an impassioned kiss as a further answer to his inquiry; reassuring him as she did so.
She loved it and she loved him.
So very much.
