Chapter 64: Wrath of the Were-Creatures

Red Arrow, Superboy, and Pandora all stared at the guardians of the bows. The two were getting scarier by the second. Alain's wolf eyes had more fire in them than a volcano. Caitlin, somehow, had a look on her face so cold that it would give another person frostbite.

"So, anyone brave enough to ask them what we're gonna do," Roy asks the other two.

"Now, I may be indestructible, but even I know that they're too pissed to have a nice little chat," Conner crossed his arms.

"Pandora, why don't you," Roy asked.

"And why me," the first woman that the gods ever created asked.

"Cause you're already dead," Conner stated. "They can't kill what's not alive."

Before anyone could talk, Alain and Caitlin huffed and moved toward them. Even the army of ghostly mythological figures stiffened. Every mystic and ghost know that angering the were-creatures was a mistake that nobody lives long enough to make again. Especially the female were-cats. You've never seen a real cat fight until you've angered one of them.

"All of you, prepare for the battle ahead," Caitlin ordered.

"And trust me, we'll know if you pull any punches just because they're humans," Alain growled. "If you do, you'll answer to Winter Wraith."

Even Pandora wouldn't mess with them when they were like this.

"Do...do you two at least have a plan," Roy forced himself to ask.

The two were-creatures looked over at the sun. It had almost completely set and the sky was starting to darken.

"We made a call back to the Isle of Were-Creatures back on the Mystic Isles," Caitlin says. "Pretty soon, we'll be getting some more backup. After they get here, we need to keep our ground long enough until night fully comes."

"When the sun sets, the moon will rise," Alain evilly smiled. "We were-creatures may be able to change whenever we want, but the moon gives us strength. And tonight is a full moon. Every single one of us will be at our full strength."

Red Arrow nodded, knowing how true that was. He had been around the twins, before their kidnapping, long enough to know quite a bit about the many mystics on the isles. And he knew that the Isle of Were-Creatures was known for their protectiveness and fighting spirit. But when they got mad, it's scatter or have your blood splatter. Across the ground that is.

He remembered Phantom and Siren telling him about three sister were-witch friends they had. Were-witches are those that are half witch and half werewolf. The sisters had been long time friends with the twins, they were the ones that Siren told them that live in San Francisco. But they had trouble with the elders. The elders are a group of ancients from each of the isles. They had been meddling in the sister's lives for a while and they had gotten sick of them. After the elders tried to take away the eldest sister's son, claiming him to be too powerful, the three snapped. They changed right then and there and scarred them for life. Both physically and emotionally.

"How many of your kind are coming," Pandora asked.

"We have about a dozen more on the way," Alain said. "Jacob, a were-bear. Hawk, an eagle were-creature, very ironic with his name. Lillian, a were-fox. Griffin, a lion hybrid. Celia, a panther were-creature. Selena, a were-stag. Genesis, an owl were-creature. Nicos, another werewolf. Katie is a cheetah hybrid. Jax, a komodo dragon were-creature. Eros, a were-horse. Basil, a snake hybrid."

"That is a lot of predators," Roy was in awe.

"In the animal kingdom, you're either the predator or the prey," Caitlin says. "And we are in no way the prey."

"We've been around you two long enough for that to be bluntly clear," Conner told her.

"BANG!"

The sound boomed across the island. Something had hit the barrier around Delos. At once, everyone went into their battle positions around the island.

"Let the fun begin," Alain growled.

"If I see one Fenton, we'll be picking limbs out of the trees for weeks when i'm done with them," Caitlin sneered.

The two ran away.

"That girl is all types of scary," Roy said, Superboy nodding in agreement.

In the woods, the small army of agents was trying, and failing, to be sneaky. They were about as subtle as an elephant. They barely got very far when the temperature made a drastic drop to below freezing. The agents could all see their breath and frost moved over the ground. Slow steps were heard coming toward them.

"Come out, freak," one of the agents yelled.

Alain slowly walked toward them. With every step, the more the ground froze.

"Did you know that werewolves are pack mystics," he asks. "That we hold our pack above all else."

"Is there a point to this lesson on your monstrous kind," another agent sneered.

"You tortured members of my pack," Alain growled. "And for that, you must pay."

He slowly rose his hands. Icy mist flowed around him. The whole area soon turned into a white out.

The mist flowed over the whole area. It swirled around the trees and bushes. From the ground up to over their heads. None of the agents could see their own hands in front of their faces. The temperature seemed to go down even more.

"The lesson, never mess with a wolf's pack," the werewolf snarled. "We can get very angry. And were-cats aren't very different."

He smirked that last part. And his point was proven when his guardian partner came crashing into the middle of the mist. Caitlin used her cat agility to run across the trees and jump down. As she crashed into the fray, she caused a field of light to explode around her. It sent a bunch of agents flying. Standing up, she lashed out slashes of light. By the end of her reign of terror, she had knocked out twenty different agents.

"You've never seen a real cat fight until you've met me," she hissed.

The rest of the small army then retaliated. Guns started firing and that's when the ghosts and Pandora came charging in. Some could see the fury in the ghost's eyes. Ghost centaurs, cyclops, unicorns, pegasi, and even a hydra. Pandora herself was in full mother bear mode. She was blazing mad, literally and figuratively.

Everyone then started scattering around the island. In a clearing, Red Arrow had taken up ice sculpting. He pulled back another arrow and let it fly. He froze another agent into a statue.

"That, was for Phantom and Siren," he glared, walking away from the five statues he just made.

He jumped out of the way of a few more blasts. He recognized his attacker as Agent K. From the information and descriptions the twins had given them, this was the agent that Superboy had stopped from shooting Siren in the head when they first rescued him.

"I'm going to enjoy this," Roy says, notching another arrow.

"RAAAHHH," Conner yelled, landing in the middle of another battle.

He slammed onto the ground, making a bunch of their attackers fall back a few feet. The anti-magic blasts just seemed to bounce off his bulletproof skin. He immediately snatched a gun from an agent and crushed it in his hands. Picking up that same agent, he threw him into four others. Smirking, he charged in a different direction.

The ghosts were a great help. Superboy jumped over a ghostly centaur just as he stood up on his hind horse legs. His front hooves shot out blue ecto-rays. A cyclops towered over the lot of them. He stared down, shooting a purple ecto-beam from his eye. He made a burn line across the ground.

Agents were dropping like flies.

"Phantom, you know some strange characters," Conner mumbled.

A straight shot blizzard came out of nowhere. It knocked away three more of the psychos.

"I seriously love this bow," Roy says, seeming to materialize next to Superboy. "I really need to remember to ask Alain if I can keep this after all this is over."

For the two were-creatures, they were on a warpath. They had been on our own as chaos entrusted all over their island. Between Alain's ice and Caitlin's light, things were wild. But all of a sudden, they were surrounded. Twelve agents, in a circle around them.

"So, which one of you want to die first," Alain snarled.

"Single file, please," Caitlin teased. "You'll all have your chance to die."

"You can try," one of their attackers sneered. "You're way outnumbered, here."

"Says who," Alain smirked.

One by one, each of the agents fell. Some were knocked out by a sudden karate chop to the back of their necks or head. Others had their necks snapped or head turned all the way around. (AN: For my younger readers, i'm sorry for that mental image.) The last had slashes across their backs. Where each of them had been, behind them were twelve figures in cloaks. Stepping into view, it was six boys and six girls.

"Well, that was a lot messier said than I thought it would be," one of the girls said, brushing blood from her cloak.

"Then don't use your claws, next time," one of the boys says, crossing his arms.

Alain and Caitlin smiled as they recognized their friends.

Jacob had a brown cloak. Hawk wore a red and black cloak designed like feathers. Lillian had an orange cloak with a white lining. Griffin's was tan with fake lion fur along the hood. Celia wore a pitch black cloak with purple stitches. Selena's was green and brown like a forest. Genesis wore a silver cloak with black streaks. Nicos had a white and silver cloak that looked like fur. Katie's golden tan was spotted with black spots. Jax wore a green cloak with scale designs. Eros's was white with brown splotches. Basil had one of dark yellow and green designed like scales.

"Can I just say how much I loved doing that," Jacob smirked, looking at the agent who's neck he just snapped.

"You were-bears, always violent," Genesis shook her head.

"We can't all be wise were-owls, like you, Genesis," Eros rolled his eyes.

"And people say we argue," Caitlin said to Alain, who just rolled his eyes.

"Back to battle, were-creatures," the ice wolf ordered.

With one hand, he made a sort of path of ice and used his other hand to make icy wind to push him. He was sliding on it Killer Frost style.

The were-creatures all joined the others. Red Arrow and Superboy weren't even phased when twelve more were-creatures had joined the fight. If anything, they were grateful for the help.

"More freaks," agents started yelling.

Some even started screaming "MONSTERS" at the top of their lungs.

"Freaks? We may be," Basil says.

"Monsters? Harsh, but a little true," Griffin said.

"But we are also one more thing," Selena stated.

"The creatures about to kick your soon to be very sorry behinds," Katie growled.

All fourteen looked up, a lot of the others following their gaze. It was then discovered how the night sky had fully come. and over the horizon, the moon was out. The light of the full moon fell over the fourteen. Their eyes changed to their inner animal as each of them evilly smirked.
