Fireworks exploded from the broken mirror, and light filled the warehouse, as if a star had fallen into their midst. Even as Kagome threw her hands over her eyes, she felt something flow back into her and settle back into place. Her heart gave out a steady, strong thrum of life as her soul - the soul that smashed a magic mirror - returned to her.

Kagome thought of the smile on Kagura's face and felt certain that the demoness had planned this. She told us to destroy it, after all. Perhaps a bit more instruction would have helped. Still, it was difficult to feel any resentment alongside the relief.

The brilliant bursts faded, and the shouts of everyone in the warehouse crowded into her senses instead. She caught a glimpse of Kagura whipping around a corner with Kanna in tow. Renkotsu and two of his brothers gave chase. Byakuya darted around, catching the few remaining workers in the warehouse by the collar and pulling them back to the tables. Kagome couldn't fathom why - every vial of Shikon no Tama had shattered, and the liquid rippled across steel tables and dripped off every surface. A small fortune had been spilled on the warehouse floor.

Sesshoumaru stood in the middle of the chaos. Still bloodied, but on his feet with his eyes locked on the spider demon. His hands curled into fists. "Naraku."

It was all the warning he gave before he launched himself toward the other demon.

Sesshoumaru landed his first blow across Naraku's jaw, knocking him back. The spider demon recovered quickly, jumping back to regain his footing.

"Is that how you want to finish this, dog?" Naraku asked. He rubbed at his jaw and smiled.

"It seems fitting," said Sesshoumaru.

"Indeed it is," said the spider before they collided again.
