What would happen if Carla stayed in Rio?
The author's notes: as these are mainly one-chapter stories, the story will be a little bit summarised, perhaps in 2021 he will write a full story on the subject.
The story begins the day after the events of Rio 2.
Another beautiful sunshine was coming, over the Amazon jungle. While the other animals were still sleeping and didn't even think to leave their homes, so the herd of spix Macaw stood in several rows to watch the bloody red sun with admiration. In this circle were also Blu and Jewel, who stood by Mimi, Eduardo and Roberto. Tiago and Bia were not there because they were children and required rest (the children generally did not take part in the morning, as they did in the evening).
"What a beautiful sky" sighed Jewel with delight when she looked at the sky, which was also red in the sun, but a gradient of blue was still coming in, and between them there was an extra juicy orange.
"Not as beautiful as you," said Blu, to which Jewel giggled and became slightly red. She gave her husband a kiss on the cheek. Next to them were Eduardo and Mimi. They talked about something with each other and sometimes looked at the couple in love.
"I'm glad Blu's the husband of Jewel."
"Well, you see, and you wanted to get him away from it."
"Yes... I shouldn't judge him right away," Edaurdo sighed and then looked at Jewel.
"Jewel... He looks so much like his mother, doesn't he?" asked Eduardo. Mimi nodded her head in a motion. Then, next to them was Roberto. He looked at Jewel sometimes. He tried to do it so that Blu would not notice. Yes, he was a bit jealous of her, but he was happy for her, and he had nothing to do with Blu, and he saved him.
"What about Carla?" interrupted Jewel's moment of delight. Blu sighed and thoughtfully scratched his wing a little.
"We'll have to go get her..."
"We can fly at dawn."
"You stay, take care of the children," answered Blu. For the rest of the time they did not speak, they simply enjoyed the beautiful view.
"You have to go? We are going to miss you!" said Tiago when Jewel informed them that Blu was flying for Carle.
"Don't you miss your sister? We'll miss her tomorrow," laughed Blu. Tiago was a little reddened by the gaff he had committed. The children hugged his father, said goodbye to him. Blu also got a strong kiss from Jewel to say goodbye.
"Take care of yourself," said Jewel, after which Blu flew out. As he flew through the settlement, a few other birds said goodbye to him and finally left the settlement after a few minutes.
"All right, but which way?" thought Blu when, stopped in the middle of the forest to think about which way to go.
"Instinct will guide you Blu" thought Blu focusing on the road. He set off for the front and turned after a dozen or so meters, when he noticed a wider river, headed and followed it, hoping to hit a tourist ship. His expectations proved to be true, as there was a ship near him with a plaque on it: Manaus - Amazonia, Amazonia - Manaus
"I'm lucky" sighed Blu with relief. He flew up to the ship and landed on the roof of the ship. He spread his wings and spread out comfortably. After several minutes he fell asleep.
The journey for Blu was very comfortable and above all fast. He did not manage to figure out when he got there. He was woken up by a loud boat horn.
"I have to look around for the map", he considered Blu's goal while looking around the small port he was in. He flew over it to find himself on a small pier. There were several stalls on it, each selling different goods. Finally Blu came across the one who was selling compasses, maps and the like. He landed at it and waited patiently for the owner of the small business to leave somewhere. When it happened, Blu agilely took one map and it shows Brazil. With it in his claws, he flew off to the nearest roof of the building to be able to analyse and read the map carefully. He took off the packaging and developed the map.
"Okay, so it's in Manaus, and I have to get to Rio... Uh-huh... It's a long way..." Blu thought, expecting to get tired. Still, his form wasn't as good as the other males in the pack.
"Well... I'm flying" decided Blu. He rolled up the map and headed towards her home town. At first Blu did not feel tired and looked at the people underneath with a smile on his beak. From the height at which he was currently standing they seemed to be medium-sized pawns that were moving. The comparison itself made Blu laugh under his beak. At first the weather was even good, Blu was flying towards the wind and the air temperature was not terribly high. The problem started only when he crossed the city of Teresin (a few hours had passed since then), where the sun was starting to show its skills and the wind changed direction, which made Blu have problems with flying. Every dozen or so kilometres he stopped in the nearby towns/rurals, where he was looking for one under the coin machine and bought a drink.
"It is good that Jewel doesn't see it" thought Blu, drinking a can of oranges all the time. Then he would usually sit somewhere under the shadows where he would look at the map to analyse where he was and how much road he had left. Then he continued his journey. After Teresin Blu went to Salvador, where he was already with his family, when he was guided by GPS, which had some problems with guiding them. After Salvador, he passed Vaorie and finally, at the same time as the sunset, he reached Rio. When he saw the sign saying "Welcome to Rio", he took a deep breath of air and exhaled.
"This is where it all started" thought Blu flying over the city. As it was already nighttime, the temperature was lower and the wind had already calmed down, these were ideal conditions for flying. After half an hour of flying over the blocks, he finally noticed Linda and Tulia's house in the distance.
"Finally... The house"
Blu landed on a platform in front of his house in Brazil. He stood in silence to check the volume. To his surprise, it was quiet.
"Hello? Carla?" started calling Blu, but it didn't work. He knocked on her room and then entered it. He didn't find anyone.
"Where did she..." Blu mumbled when he heard the sound from Linda and Tulia's house.
"My blood" laughed Blu, flying home.
"Carla, I'm back!" called Blu. He was quickly shocked to see the kitchens. It was a complete mess! He quickly glanced at the living room, the music was played loudly on the TV and the living room itself was also dirty. Blu crooked and waved his head. He approached the couch quietly and leaned out. He saw Carle sleeping.
"How sweet..." ...Blu thought, turning off the TV and going to his beloved daughter.
"Carla, get up! Get up!" and Blu screamed.
"Aah! What is it!?" Carla screamed, opening her eyes suddenly.
"Damn it, Daddy?!" she shouted even louder when she saw her father. Blu just laughed to see her reactions.
"You act as if you saw a ghost," said Blu calmly.
"You should be in the Amazon... Where are the others?"
"In the Amazon, we are moving there," said Blu.
"Oh... Okay... So we're going to them, right?"
"True, but you have to clean it up," Blu ordered.
"But it will take me all night!"
"It was great to go to bed anyway... Good night" said Blu, and then he went upstairs.
Epilogue
Blu woke up early in the morning, even before the sun started shining for good. He flew downstairs to see the effects of Carla's work and was very pleased. It was not visible that it was dirty here. But Carla herself slept on the couch. Blu took her on his back and went back to the Amazon with her. Carla was quite tired because she only woke up on the boat that transported them straight into the jungle.
"Good morning" greeted Blu when he noticed Carla waking up.
"Like how I cleaned up?" asked Carla. Blu nodded with a head movement.
"And by the way... What is this place?" asked Carla.
"This is the Amazon... Welcome home."
After 15 minutes they left the boat to reach the settlement. This time Blu already knew which way to go. After another quarter of an hour they reached the settlement. The whole family was waiting for Blu and Carle.
"Welcome home!" they shouted with the choir Bia, Tiago, Eduardo, Mimi and Jewel
"Wow!" called out excited Carla. Eduardo and Mimi introduced themselves to Carla and talked to her.
Blu and Jewel were behind them.
"You did it, birdie," said Jewel.
"He always does."
"Without human help?"
"Yes...without help", Blu giggles.
"Now I have everything I need for happiness... And you?" asked Jewel.
"Yes, so do I," answered the strong Blu.
This was the last chapter in 2020. Maybe I will make a full story out of it.
Happy New Year and see you soon!
