Angel: The title always gets me, since I used to watch the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air as a teenager! And Ice-T apparently guest starred in this episode, and he's from my favorite show, Law and Order: Special Victims Unit.
So obviously I LOVE this episode!
Since we're in the homestretch with 10 episodes left, you're probably wondering about the elephant in the room: Those bloopers at the end of the series finale. Y-You know the ones. I honestly don't see the point of writing them since…it's a tv show with bloopers as if they're in a movie.
Yup, I am not including those in the series finale, it's just a weird addition for me. Which is saying a lot given the premise of past episodes, especially in season 1. What I am going to do instead is a Q&A, but only for one chapter. So if you have something you want to ask Randy, Amy, Howard or even myself, you can! But nothing about shipping Randy and Theresa please, or Amy and Julian for that matter. If it's a question asking whether or not Amy would be in a relationship with him or vice versa with Randy and Theresa, that's fine, but just please do not leave comments about those couples and that they should be together. I'm limiting the amount of questions to five per person. And if you're exclusive to Deviantart, you can leave me questions there on my own profile or in chat as well.
Also, I got sick this week, so I wasn't doing much writing, and I started school this week at the same time. But I'm not that far behind, so next week I'll update normally. But I do have to work overtime to get the other ones finished.
The school bell rings and the trio skid around the corner as they're running down the hall. Once again, they're late to class.
"For honk's sake, run! We're late for class!"
The brunette is on the track team, so this wasn't out of the ordinary for her. What is, however, is her being late again. Amy only has McFist to blame, because he sent another robot to 'destroy' them. Principal Slimovitz steps out of his office, dropping his papers at the sight of them.
"Whoa, whoa!"
They skid to a stop in front of him. "You children know the rules. No running in the halls!" He scolds the three.
"Aw, c'mon P-Slims, we're gonna be late!" Randy complains at this.
"And then you'll punish us by making us spend lunchtime in your office again!" Howard sags his shoulders.
"We've had so many absences lately that this is getting old," Amy gestures between the three and the principal. She didn't mean it in a bad way, she really did not. But with so many Ninja-Kunoichi fights, especially as of late, it was becoming a problem. She may be school president, but that could only go so far. Just because she did have school spirit didn't mean she was immune to tardies or absences. "Not to mention if I'm late just one more time, my parents are gonna ground me!"
"Then you better walk fast," Principal Slimovitz crosses his arms.
"But can't you start giving us-"
"Go!" He points down the hall and she grunts. The three speedwalk past him. "Speedwalking counts as running." The bell rings before they could even make it to class. "And you're late. See you at lunch!" He waves with a smile as he enters his office. Amy opens her mouth in disbelief. She groans, sagging her shoulders. Her phone goes off and she sees a text from her mother. Apparently the principal had just called them…
"And I'm grounded...great..."
"Aww, that's wonk," Randy pouts at her.
"Mmm. So many good rules!" Principal Slimovitz is leaning against his chair, his feet up on his desk as he's reading the rule book. He's also eating lunch in front of them. Amy reluctantly eats some of her leftover chicken parm from last night, smacking away Howard's hand.
"Principal Slimovitz, you're killing us with all these rules," Randy stands up in defense, gesturing to Amy. "And Ames is the school president, how is that fair?"
She frowns a bit as she looks towards the ground. Being the school president, it didn't leave a good mark on her record to be late so many times unexcused...her parents have started noticing as well, and they haven't been too pleased. If it was that noticeable to the point where her parents notice, then she had to figure out a way to fix this. Her parents may be absent a lot, but they still pushed for her to be at least on time for classes.
"It's like we can't follow one without breaking two others," Howard points out.
"You can't honestly think that this is still okay," Amy crosses her arms. "I mean, with how tardies we've gotten, isn't it your job to find a way to resolve all this?"
"Got my review with the School Board today," The principal changes the subject, seeming to ignore what they just said. "Just want to make sure I've got everything under control," He points to some of the rules. "But I'm afraid that if you're late just one more time to class, Amelia, I'll be forced to impeach you as school president."
"What?!" She exclaims in shock, standing up in alarm.
"Can't have a school president with so many tardies. I'm awfully sorry."
Amy sits back down in disbelief, rubbing a temple. Randy places a sympathetic hand on her shoulder. She really did not like McFist right about now...
"I think it's time to teach the rules a lesson of our own," Randy whispers to the two, showing two ketchup packets from his jacket.
"Teach the rules a lesson? With ketchup? Are you even listening to yourself?" Howard asks him.
"No, I'm not," He grins smugly, planting them in the book. Amy's eyes widen and she rapidly shakes her head no.
"Ran, don't! It's not worth it," She pleads with him.
He does it anyway and sits back down, the two boys giggling. The brunette pinches her nose.
"Wow, I have missed a lot of these!" Principal Slimovitz smiles as he hasn't read the book in a while. "Uh, things are going to change around here." He shuts the book, and the ketchup sprays onto his face. "Ah! Something's on my face!"
The two boys giggle to each other, Amy just crossing her arms in disapproval.
"It came out of my book! I have to warn everyone!" He grabs the speaker in a panic.
"D'oh!" Howard mutters, the three giving nervous frowns. The two didn't mean for it to go that far...
"Attention students: Someone has sabotaged our books! Destroy all reading materials immediately!" He tells everyone, the students looking at their books. Then they gasp, screaming as they run to the windows, throwing the books outside. Bash throws Jerry outside as well, the books hitting Slimovitz's car parked there for some reason.
Tiny Tim rips out the water fountain and people start running outside. The front entrance to the school falls off somehow, seemingly hitting a student. But it turns out he's fine as he runs out of there. The ceiling explodes with paper.
A knock is heard from golden double doors, and they open, revealing Slimovitz. "Ah, hello?" He steps inside the room, walking up to the School Board. "I'm here for my review." The doors close behind him, leaving a spotlight on the man.
The School Board consists of Dr. Sam, Marci, Gene, and two other men. "Irving Slimovitz," The main man speaks up. "In your estimation, how excellent are you at principaling?"
"Um...very excellent?" Slimovitz asks nervously.
"Does that look like very excellent to you?" He points up at the destruction from earlier today.
"But that wasn't my fault!" Slimovitz protests to him.
"Any of these your fault?" He's talking about the sprinklers going off in the halls, the cheese incident the day that Howard got sent to Detention Island, and the recent ketchup incident. And all of them, Randy and Howard were behind it acting like giggling idiots. "We've got rules being broken left, right, and sideways up in here. For the safety of all our children, you're fired!"
"Please!" Slimovitz pleads with them. "Give me one more chance!"
"I don't think so," The man leans down to glare at him. "NHS has been chosen to take part in an experimental principaling program," He holds up a red, black, and white virtual reality helmet.
The former principal gasps sharply, covering his eyes with his hands. "You just got replaced."
Mrs. Driscoll hands out the helmets in science class, Amy sitting behind Randy and Howard. Howard is messing around with stuff from his backpack before Mrs. Driscoll slams the helmet over the items.
"What the honk is this?" Randy asks, holding up his helmet.
"The latest in educational head wear. PAL: Principal-Assisted Learning," She informs them.
"Seems a bit shady and weird," Amy couldn't help but comment as she looks over Randy's shoulder, examining the helmet.
"That sounds like one of P-Slim's wonk ideas," Howard complains at this, Randy just raising a brow in confusion.
"No, no, no. Due to yesterday's rioting incident, Principal Slimovitz was re-assigned to the unemployment line."
Amy gasps sharply at this from behind. "He got canned like a sardine," Jerry adds in and Mrs. Driscoll walks off to hand off the rest of the helmets.
Howard gasps just as sharply as the brunette did as he turns to Randy. "Sweet cheese, you got him fired?!"
"By accident!" Randy defends himself. "He was shoobing us with all his rules! And he was gonna take away Ames' position as school president! When you think about it, he got him fired."
"Ran! I can't believe you! That wasn't worth getting him fired, even if you didn't mean to do that to him," She crosses her arms with a small frown. "I might have wanted to continue being school president, but not like this..."
Their Nomicons go off from their bags before he could respond back to her. Randy groans at this, looking to his bag.
"I know, Nomicon, rules are meant to be followed. Let's just save ourselves the shloomp on this one, huh."
"And besides, class just started," Amy frowns a bit, glancing over to Mrs. Driscoll. Randy moves his bag so that it lands on the floor. The brunette closes her satchel so that no one notices the blinking. He then looks over his shoulder, leaning in to whisper to her.
"Just so you know, I didn't mean for it to go that far. But I know how much that position means to you, and I just wanted you to keep it."
"But by doing so, you got a...semi-respectable man fired from his job," She glances away, since he's had some beef with other students in the past. She herself didn't hate the guy, but she does dislike him for how he was handling their tardiness. And said tardiness had gotten her grounded, so she wasn't entirely nice towards him either.
"I know...I'll figure something out. Maybe I could talk to him after class. I'll fix it, I promise."
"We shall see," She replies curtly, putting on her helmet. He pouts and joins everyone else in putting on their helmets. Randy flips down the visor, and a screen turns on to reveal the new principal.
"Greetings, students. I'm your new principal, Todd Principal."
"Ooh, he's got his job in his name," Randy comments in awe. "He must be really good at it."
Amy herself could only suspend her disbelief for so long, but it is new technology, so she'll put her doubts aside for now.
"Your old principal was deemed unfit to principal. I think Norrisville High deserves better. Don't you?" Todd smiles at the class. Everyone suddenly sits up straight.
"Yes, Mr. Principal," They respond in unison.
Mr. Slimovitz parks his damaged car in the parking lot. Some stray books were still on top of it. Since he didn't have his job anymore, he currently doesn't have the money to get it repaired...
"Ok, Irving," He gives himself a pep talk. "You just walk in there and you get your stuff," He opens the driver's door, a bunch of books falling out from his seat. "They may have taken your job, but they are not going to take your World's Greatest Cat Owner mug!" He steps forward, tripping into the pile of books.
"That brings us to the mitochondria," Mrs. Driscoll points to the chalkboard. Everyone looks...very weird. The students all have their hair combed back into buns or just neater styles. Amy herself has her old hairstyle from when she first started going to Norrisville High. And Randy has his jacket zipped up.
"Paying attention in class is the cheese," Howard speaks up.
"Know what's also the cheese? Perfect posture," Randy smiles as he fixes himself, Howard doing the same. Amy has the same stance as them.
"And learning!"
Mr. Slimovitz stands in front of his former office, holding a box to put his things in. He sniffles as he opens the door. "Don't mind me. Just here to pick up my things," He takes a sign from the door. "Not trying to start a fight with the new..." He turns on the lights and is so surprised that he drops the box. "Computer?!"
Todd Principal is actually just a computer screen. "Greetings, former educator."
Mr. Slimovitz gasps in shock. "The new principal's not people!"
"He knows too much. Drag and drop him into the trash."
Buttermaker and Mick come up to him out of nowhere, wearing the helmets. The man tries to make a break for it, but they grab him. Then they walk down the stairs, taking him along.
"Buttermaker! Micholas! Unhand me this instant!" Mr. Slimovitz demands them. They throw him into the basement and lock him inside.
Randy opens his locker with a smile on his face, putting away his Etiquette textbook. "What a lovely day!" He closes his locker and Amy does the same.
"It is a lovely day, Randy."
They stop in front of Bash, who is not acting like a bully. In fact, no one is acting like themselves. "You are violating rule 48: no talking in the hallway," He recites to them, someone walking past in the hall. "Please desist." He chuckles and walks away, Randy raising a brow.
"Huh. Did Bash seem weird to you?" Randy asks them.
"Uh, what's weird about showing enthusiasm for school rules?"
"Everyone should aspire to his example," Amy holds up a finger.
"Nothing, nothing!" Randy defends to the two. "It's just, since when does he speak in complete sentences?"
Mr. Slimovitz slams on the door, groaning as he's not any closer to getting out. He turns around with a sigh. "Pounding on the door didn't work. Oh! Time for plan B: curling up in the fetal position," He slides down, doing so. He then looks up and sees something up ahead. "Oh!" He walks up to a box full of random items.
"Well, if it isn't a McFistodore 34. And his friends. I haven't had a party like this since A/V Club," He sticks out his tongue, deciding to use these items.
"Halls are clean," Randy states as the three are walking into the hallway. "No one's running. Sundown doesn't smell like kitty litter. Amelia and I aren't even holding hands."
"Public displays of attention are not allowed in the halls," She recites to him, blinking at what she just said. And because Randy said her full first name.
"Something's just...off."
"Hi fellas and lady!" Doug greets them. "Nice afternoon, isn't it?"
"Yes, Douglas, it is a nice afternoon," Howard smiles at him. "Thank you for inquiring." He chuckles as Doug leaves and then gasps at what he did. "Wait a sec. Was I just nice to Doug? You're right! Something's off. Something's way off!"
As they walk past the staircase, an 8-bit model of Slimovitz appears between a row of lockers and the stairs.
"Psst! Boys! Amelia!"
"Principal Slimovitz...?" Randy asks in surprise as they turn to look at him.
"I've hacked in from the basement."
"With a McFistodore 34, right?" Amy raises a brow, earning looks from the three of them. "What? Old school is still functional school," She shrugs sheepishly at them.
"None of this is real! Todd Principal is a computer." Slimovitz is down in the basement, wearing a console device on his head and holding a controller. "And he's trapped everyone inside a simulation. He's forcing you to reach your academic potential in some sort of horrible educational utopia."
"What a monster!" Howard declares angrily.
"We have to stop him...her...it...is it a boy computer? Am I getting that right?" Randy turns to his girlfriend.
"Computers don't have genders, but if the AI from the system is identifying itself as a male, maybe you could refer it as a him?"
"Here," Slimovitz holds up some ketchup.
"Ketchup packets?" Randy asks after taking them.
"When the time comes, you'll know what to do. Hurry up, children, you're my only hope." He then disappears out of the simulation. Doug walks into class behind them and the two boys grin knowingly. Amy sighs at this.
"So now we're doing the exact same thing that got us into this mess...alright, if it'll work," She shrugs in defeat. If she couldn't beat them, she might as well join them.
They sneak into the classroom, with Doug the only person in the room for some reason. They watch him read the rules book for a little bit before Randy crawls up to him. Howard gasps in anticipation, and Randy plants the ketchup into the book. The bell rings for class to start, the rest of the students walking in. Doug closes the book and gets splattered with ketchup.
"Ah! Ah! Oh, no!" He stands up, panicking. "Hot dog sauce! It's all over my face!"
The three start laughing at him. "This should be on a hot dog, not on Doug's face!"
The trio begin to flicker from the simulation. "Multiple rule infractions," PAL starts off in the office, scanning for the problem. "Buffering..."
The two are suddenly pulled out of the simulation, Randy lifting up the visor. Some drool falls from his mouth. Amy takes off her helmet, blinking rapidly.
"Hot dog sauce!" Howard exclaims in laughter. "Oh, classic Doug."
"C'mon!" Randy quickly takes off his helmet. "We gotta get Slimovitz!"
"I know where the basement is, let's go!" Amy runs off, followed by the two boys. After reaching the last level, they run down the steps, Amy sliding to a stop in front of the door. She finds it locked, because of course it is. She takes a hair pin out of her pigtails and picks the lock, opening the door. They step inside to find Slimovitz operating a whole computer system in there.
"Uh..." Howard murmurs as they look over his shoulders.
"Children!" He turns around with a smile, taking off his helmet. "I am so glad to see you!" He hugs the three of them.
"Alright. Let's not make this weird," Howard pulls back.
"It already has been," Amy mutters, rubbing her neck awkwardly.
"We're not safe here. If that thing is half the principal I think he is, he already knows you're truant."
"Which means we're in trouble," Amy sweats nervously, biting her lip.
"Attention: three students are offline. Initiate Firewall. Eliminate all anomalies."
Every student in science class stands up, and the helmet starts to take over their bodies, forming them all into robots!
The four run down the hall.
"Children! Slow down!" Slimovitz tries to catch up with them.
"We gotta get to the office," Randy says urgently.
"We have to access PAL's system and find a way to shut it down!" Amy glances over her shoulder.
"But we're running! In the hall!"
"Really. You're harping on that now?" Randy asks in disbelief as they slide to a stop.
"I hate to be a downer here, but, uh...I don't think we're getting' to that office," Howard states as they're blocked by all of the student/robots.
"Those models...the helmets must act as a way to take over the students!" Amy cringes in realization.
"I'll distract him!" Slimovitz takes the helmet from Randy. "You children get in there and unplug him." He then runs off.
"Howard..." Randy starts off as he and Amy take out their masks.
"Hide. Yeah, I'm on it."
They run in opposite directions and they turn to see Howard hiding in a locker. He yelps as he goes inside, while Amy and Randy transform in the bathrooms.
The two open their respective doors in unison. "Entire student body vs. Ninja and Kunoichi? Good thing we have the speed advantage."
"But we also have the disadvantage of not hurting them since they're students," Kunoichi points out.
"Aww. Man, I almost forgot about that," He sags his shoulders. The robots charge forward with speed faster than them, causing the two to gasp. "Don't have the speed advantage." They try to run, but get grabbed and then tackled to the ground. Slimovitz sneaks past them and enters a classroom.
"Todd Principal, prepare to get schooled," He puts on the helmet, gasping as he gets put into a simulation. Todd Principal is sitting at the desk with a smile on his face.
"Greetings."
Slimovitz slams a fist onto the wood. "Give it up, Todd. A computer can't principal."
"On the contrary, I am the perfect principal," Todd argues back with a smile on his face.
"We'll see about that. I invoke rule 72-B of the NHS code: A Principal-Off. Winner...takes...school," Slimovitz challenges him.
"I accept your challenge. I know the rules better than any human," Todd snaps his fingers and disco lights appear. They're suddenly in an entirely different room.
"Alright, pop quiz: What color are students forbidden to wear in January?"
"White. So they don't get lost in the snow," Todd replies, smiling widely.
"Oh, I see how it is. Playing for keeps," Slimovitz glares at him. "Okay, next question!"
Ninja and Kunoichi are thrown into some lockers. Ninja knocks the door off of the one Howard's in. "Ninja Misuse of School Property!" He uses the door as a shield as the robot in front of him keeps punching it. Another one runs up to them, knocking them off their feet. Ninja does a handstand, kicking two back. They get approached by a robot with a ruler, and the two grab their sticks, fighting back.
"I don't know how long we can hold 'em off! Howard, you gotta jack back in and hurry Slimovitz up!"
"There's no way I'm going back in there!" Howard denies immediately. "It's creepy in there."
The two nudge him with their shoulders. "Howard!"
They get grabbed by the scarves, throwing the robot into the locker. "Just do it!" Kunoichi calls out. "These guys are strong!"
"Alright! I'm goin'!" He runs off, Ninja knocking two back with his stick. Kunoichi spins around and kicks back two others.
Howard inches towards the classroom. He peeks in and sees Slimovitz struggling with himself. He joins the man's side and puts on the helmet. He gets thrusted into the simulation, looking around rapidly. Howard sees Slimovitz on the verge of giving up.
"What is the minimum amount of meat, uh, required for the cafeteria to legally call it Salisbury steak?" He asks Todd Principal, starting to sweat.
"Trick question: There is no meat."
"Aw! Thought I had you with that one!" Slimovitz facepalms himself.
"Really wish I hadn't heard that," Howard facepalms as well.
Ninja and Kunoichi are running in the hall when they see the office. "Yes! Principal's Office! Almost there!"
They get knocked onto the ground by a robot. Two of them grab their legs and start dragging them backwards. "No! Principal's Office...was almost there!"
Kunoichi tries to pull her leg back, but it was no use. They get into a heap of robots. "Ow!"
"And if the Assistant Vice-Principal is also deceased, the head custodian becomes the new head of school," Todd finishes answering another question correctly. Howard gasps sharply, turning to Slimovitz. The man visibly gulps.
"Okay, last question..."
"Ninja Student Dogpile Escape!" The duo flip out of the pile, running as fast as they can.
"And then bury the sock straps at least 50 feet from any water source."
That answer almost made Howard throw up as he turns to Slimovitz. "Please tell me that's not right."
"I'm afraid it is..." Slimovitz murmurs, a hand on his temple.
"Then it is settled. I am the superior administrator," Todd grins widely, gesturing to himself. "The school is mine!"
"That was my last question..." Slimovitz looks at his hands, one of which states to pixelate away from his body. He gasps sharply at his disappearing hand.
"You have been proven...obsolete."
"Remember...me..." Slimovitz mutters dramatically.
"Hm..." Howard glances away, getting an idea. There's been one question that's never been answered. "I have a question: Three students are late to class. They're running. How do you keep them from breaking any rules?"
"I tell them to walk," Todd answers simply.
"But then they'll be late. That's against the rules," Howard points out.
"Then they must run."
"Also against the rules," Howard states again.
"Then they must walk. Then they'll be late," Todd starts to flicker as he tries to process the error. "So they must run. That's against the rules. So they must walk. Then they'll be late! Buffering...Buffering..." Howard yelps as he moves back a little. "Buffering...Buffering..."
Kunoichi and Ninja continue running until they skid to a stop, eyes wide. In front of them guarding the door is a robot with a large sword in hand. They try to go the other way, but other robots are blocking the opposite direction.
Slimovitz looks at his hands pixelating away.
"This question is unanswerable!"
"For a computer maybe," Howard glares at Todd, turning to Slimovitz. "What do you think, Principal Slimovitz?"
"Boy...that's a toughie."
"Come on, Slims, dig deep. What would a human do?" Howard asks him slowly.
"Well, I guess, to stop them from breaking the rules...I could write them a pass." His arms start to go back to normal as he realizes the solution. "Ohhh, I could've written you and your friends a pass!" He gasps happily at himself being back in one piece.
"Yes. Yes you could have," Howard agrees with him, nodding.
"You are the superior principal," Todd admits and the robots power down outside in the hall. Kunoichi and Ninja enter the office. "Sometimes the right way to enforce a rule is not to enforce it at all. You have taught me compassion...emotion..."
Ninja and Kunoichi jump into the office, powering up.
"Ninja Tengu Fireball!"
"Kunoichi Lightning Strike!" They fire at the same time, electrifying and burning up the PAL system.
"I feel as if I've just begun to live...ahh!" Todd's face falls off and then he splits apart right in front of Howard and Slimovitz. Needless to say, this will scar them for a while.
"Ooh, it's terrible!"
They hug themselves, screaming as they exit the simulation.
Kunoichi and Ninja step out of the office to see all the students removing their helmets. They gasp in relief.
"I don't care about rules no more! Move it!" Bash takes a student and shoves him into a trash can. Kunoichi rolls her eyes at him, using her hair to help the student out of the trash.
"Ah, yes. Smokebomb," Ninja and Kunoichi disappear.
"Sure, I'd be willing to come back," Slimovitz states into the phone. He's talking to the head of the School Board. "For a 20 percent raise. Oh, no? Less pay?" Howard, Randy, and Amy are sitting in front of his desk, watching him. "Okay, less pay it is. Gotta go. My 2:00 clock is here." He hangs up the phone with a smile. "Ah, you children taught me a valuable lesson. You must have been suggesting that I give you hall passes, huh Amelia?"
"That's what would've happened if you hadn't interrupted me," Amy rubs her arm sheepishly. It definitely would help them, though how he didn't come up with that a while ago, she would never understand. They've had so many tardies in total that it was becoming a record.
"Guess this makes us even for that ketchup thing, huh?"
"What? Oh, no, no, no," Slimovitz places down three books, one in front of each student. "You three are gonna copy the entire rule book, by hand, until you learn it."
They look up at him in disbelief. They then close their books, only to get sprayed in the face with ketchup.
"Ah! Wait. So now are we even?" Randy asks the man as Amy blinks at the ketchup splattered on her face. Principal Slimovitz just chuckles at the question.
"No, now you go to detention."
They walk off with a groan, slamming the door shut. Amy then peeks in. "Wait, so I'm still school president?"
"Oh, I was never going to take that away from you. The ketchup and detention is enough. I'll be calling your parents after I take off some absences off your record."
"What? Why?" She asks in confusion.
"For being a good student and trying to set a good example out of them!"
"Wait, so you only threatened to take my position away so that I'd learn a lesson?"
"Suuuure," Slimovitz glances away awkwardly, as he was somewhat contemplating giving her position to someone else.
She raises a brow at his answer, brushing it off since her position isn't at risk anymore. She smiles in relief, walking off. He laughs as he holds up his cat mug. "Ah..." He's resting his feet on what remains of PAL, sipping from his mug with a smile.
The trio look bored as they sit in detention. Amy is reading a book from behind the boys, specifically a large red book for their upcoming English test. The teacher is asleep at the front of the classroom as detention is almost over. The girl has spent most of her time in silence as she was focusing on her book. Randy pouts to himself as he still thought she was mad at him, even though he didn't mean or want Slimovitz to get fired.
He looks over his shoulder. "Psst! Ames!"
She glances up at him, putting down her book. "What?"
"Are you still mad at me?" He frowns a bit. "You haven't said anything for the past hour."
"Well, reading a book isn't exactly a conversation starter. I just wanna get out of here as soon as possible."
"Why am I even here? Cunningham's the one who got us detention," Howard mutters, a hand on his cheek. The two just roll their eyes at him. Randy turns back to the girl.
"Anyway, I'm not really mad. I don't know why you keep thinking I am. I mean, I do get wonked off sometimes, but then I always remember that I like you too much to stay mad," Amy tells the taller boy, causing him to smile.
"Thanks, Ames. Sorry if I got your parents cheesed off, though."
"You kidding? My dad got detention more than me in high school. And my grandpa used to be a troublemaker too. It's only me being late all the time that bothers them since I'm usually on time for class," Amy giggles a bit. "It'll take more than a simple detention to cheese them off. And at least I'm ungrounded."
"Yes! Free snacks tonight!" Howard cheers to himself, but they still heard it anyway. They give him blank looks, but decide to just ignore that. She could always just lock her door later, which she needs to start doing...
