Dragon Ball: Governed

Chapter 49 - Means to an End

Gohan faked Kakarot out, making it appear as if he were going to punch him. The utilization of an afterimage was more than capable of getting Kakarot to fall for it as he tried to knock him away. Turning around to see his son flying away from the arena, Kakarot scoffed.

"Running away, are we!?"

Looking over his shoulder as Gohan neared a vast body of water from the island where the tournament was being held, Kakarot was picking up speed behind him. Gohan's father came right at him with a chi attack that had been swatted away. Catching his son with a ferocious right hook, Gohan could be seen sailing down. Luckily, the half-breed caught himself before his body submerged into the ocean and started to fly just inches above water, flying even faster than he was before out of sheer rage.

"I thought you wanted to fight, boy!?" Kakarot yelled. "What happened!?"

Gohan had nothing but anger bubbling up inside him; that being the main reason he was full of so much power in the first place, this was the hardest task he had been put through - the capability of controlling it. But he needed to take everyone else out of harm's way.

Kakarot demanded Gohan to fight him as he chased behind and fired off a myriad of ki attacks. Gohan moved in zig zags and various other patterns solely to keep himself from getting struck. Once he felt he was far enough, he decided it was the time to strike.

Making an aerial U-Turn, Gohan cancelled one of his father's ki attacks with one of his own, blowing up smoke. Kakarot stopped right in his tracks. This was exactly what Gohan needed to surprise his father by rushing through the cloud of dust to render him a solid kick to then descend just a few inches and followed up with a barrage of punches to the mid-section prior to ending his incessant assault with an shattering upper-cut and a roundhouse kick to the side of Kakarot's neck.

Kakarot had landed hard into the ocean. Gohan, huffing and puffing, waited there. He truly didn't want to fight his father, despite the fact that Gyumao had been killed right in front of him. As much as he despised Kakarot right now, deep down inside, there was something telling him not to. He knew what this was, though. His Earthling biological instinct telling him not to do so as it was imperative for survival. But the halfling casted that to the side. Judging by the barbaric nature of the Saiyans, Gohan figured that some wouldn't hesitate to kill their own parents, either.

Kakarot emerged from the water, aura crackling. "That's more like it!"

"I don't want to fight!" Gohan yelled. "We can fight the main enemy instead of giving them what they want!"

"Uh-uh," Kakarot waved his finger. "I already gave you that proposition." Rushing in for Gohan, he swatted his son's hand and gut-checked him. As Gohan keeled over, Kakarot whispered into his ear, "and you rejected it." A solid haymaker sent Gohan soaring across the ocean with such speed that the ripples started to cause entire tidal waves.

Gohan flipped over and rushed back in for his father. The two started their aerial battle, exchanging blows. Kakarot held the edge sure, but Gohan's pure tenacity and anger kept him in the fight. Some of his strikes had more power behind them than his father's. Kakarot knew he wouldn't be able to go their final bout like this.

He made an attempt to maneuver behind his son but Gohan wrapped his golden tail around his father's waist and reeled him back in to drive the tip of his elbow into Kakarot's diaphragm. Kakarot twirled around from how fast Gohan unwrapped his tail and rendered him a brutal kick to the hip. Gohan zoomed in on his father and punched him over and over again in the face prior to stomping both of his feet into his abdomen. Chasing him down below water, Kakarot had been punted into the sky. But that wasn't all. A full-powered Kamehameha directly into the back sent Kakarot further into the clouds.

As Kakarot was being propelled further and further into the sky by his son's Kamehameha, Gohan appeared above the full-blooded Saiyan and stuck his hand out. This time, he charged a bright yellow wave of ki and fired it head on. This caused an explosion right in the middle of the ocean. Waves of water came over them both and mountains around them broke down.

Gohan, feeling his rage continuing to build, exploded in power. So much pressure exuded from his body that a barrier of crackling energy started to protect him. Kakarot, though battered and bruised, still came charging forth, firing energy waves and all. But none worked. Though he tried to use his own strength and punch through, he was electrocuted. The barrier soon vanished and Gohan took advantage once more.

Like a punching bag, Kakarot's body appeared to be used for practice. Gohan's anger had taken him over the edge. The boy didn't seem to have any reason now. He saw red and because of this, his raw power took over - to the point where he even surpassed his father. Kakarot couldn't do anything except take the vicious beating that was given to him. And despite his sudden change, there was one thing that hadn't been different.

He loved getting his ass handed to him.

When Gohan was done, he placed both hands in front of his father, who remained in the sky with his shoulders hunched, huffing and puffing, chuckling through the pain. Gohan, grinding his teeth, mustered all his power together.

"I won't kill you...but the ocean will. Bye, father."

And just like that, all the power Gohan built up had been unleashed toward his father at pure point blank range. Kakarot reached out, doing his best to grab at Gohan before he was forced down into the deep depths of the ocean, which took a while. Once Gohan heard a boom and a big splash of water, he knew that impact had been made. He had defeated his father.

Lying deep down below with the heavy pressure of the planet's ocean keeping him down, Kakarot was barely able to move. Even if it wasn't pitch black deep down in the ocean, Kakarot still wouldn't be able to make sense of anything. He had reverted back to his base form. Clothes were torn and his mind was just seconds away from blacking out.

But he couldn't allow that.

With what little strength he had left, Kakarot had his index and thumb finger pinching an item. Rubbing his fingers, he felt it. A weak smile formed on Kakarot's face as he realized his last efforts had been made true. Instead of struggling to reach for his pouch of senzus, which had probably been disintegrated at this point, he knew for sure that his son must have been carrying one on him. After all, Kakarot had always taught Gohan that he'd never know when he'd need one to bail him out.

His arms felt heavy but he persevered. Before he could let unconsciousness overtake him, Kakarot placed the senzu into his mouth and reeled it in with his tongue. He chewed for a few seconds and that was all. Soon, his mind just went black.

Gohan had spent the last two minutes staring down at the ocean. He waited there, feeling for his father's energy levels. Second by second, it decreased. He knew it was only a matter of time before he was out completely and the heavy waters below would fill his lungs and take him out.

Turning around, he hoped to be able to get on with this Babidi business and save everyone else.

But his heart sank to his stomach.

A deep rumbling from down below was a sensation that Gohan could feel at his very toes. Eyes wide and tail twitching, he started to doubt himself. "No…" His hand pressed against his chest. He started to feel around and even dug into his shirt. Upon feeling nothing, panic ensued. "No…" A quick flash of his father sticking his hand out at that last moment. The feeling of having his shirt ripped. Turning around, Gohan came face to face with a big tidal wave coming over him...and his father right there, smiling.

That demonic look. He had never seen someone so thirsty for blood.

"I WIN!"

Kakarot's black hair spiked up and the same golden color as before came over him.

Gohan is blitzed and rendered a merciless haymaker that has him soar through the tidal waves. Far, far across the ocean, Gohan comes into contact with a mountain, which stops him in his tracks. Kakarot follows up by driving his knee into his son's gut, forcing him out of his Super Saiyan state. Blood spewed onto Kakarot's knee but the Saiyan didn't care. This was what he wanted to see. The force of Kakarot's knee had Gohan drive through the mountain and sail even more. As he made it just above a small, deserted island, Kakarot rammed both fists into the half-blood's chest. On his way down, he was met with a myriad of key attacks that marked every part of his body until he finally crashed down hard on his back.

Hovering above, Kakarot yells at his son, who's still surprisingly conscious. "I told you that you had no choice in this from the start, boy! But you didn't listen! What did you think; just because your anger elevated you to higher levels than I that I wouldn't remain one step ahead? For years since I started walking, I hopped from planet to planet, fighting! Many times I have faced death and with these endeavors my experience grew! You have nothing over the mind of a seasoned Saiyan warrior, Gohan. All these years, your only experience has been through training. Not once have you ever been on death's door-step...until now!"

Gohan laid down in the crater made just for him, huffing and puffing. His body begged for him to stay down, sending nothing but pain signals to the brain. But his willpower. Thinking of his grandfather and his mother...he couldn't just give up.

Kakarot clapped as he witnessed his son struggling to get back on his feet. "There you go! Fight against that feeble Earthling instinct of yours to stay down and go back to mommy! You're a Saiyan so it's about time you act like it!"

Gohan didn't do as much as even recognize this man anymore. Thinking back on his mother's words, he also saw that he only acted to care and love them. All of it meant nothing. And above killing his grandfather...that hurt more.

"RAHHHHHHHH!"

Gohan's hair flickered to that of a golden color before he mustered to gain his power back again before zooming in for Kakarot.

"That's it, boy…"

Kakarot rockets backward in an effort to evade a punch meant for him, but Gohan keeps pursuit. This time, curling up into a ball and spinning around, he dodges Gohan's attempt for a kick by using the momentum he built up spinning backward. Gohan follows and misses yet another kick but telegraphs his father's next move, side-steps his punch and clocks him with enough force to send him flying. Gohan zooms in once again, but by the time he closes the halfway gap between he and his father, Kakarot has already recovered his balance. Gohan is socked in the jaw and forced out of his Super Saiyan form once more. Kakarot follows Gohan, rams his knee into his stomach once again and hammers him down back toward solid land on the single island before them. Before he crashes, Kakarot once more drives his knee into Gohan's stomach before forcing him down again with both fists. Gohan could barely move at this point, but Kakarot made sure he couldn't do so as he rammed his foot on top of his son's head.

"I sacrificed my desire to become a Super Saiyan around the time you were a baby, Gohan. I came to the conclusion that I was never meant to become one. But seeing you transform? It lit a fire inside of me! If my own son could do it - a half-blood who has my DNA coursing through his very being, then why couldn't I? I was willing to go through anything to attain that power. I never thought that ugly, frail looking warlock would ever be able to do so but when I felt that power...I took the deal." Under his breath, Gohan mumbled words that Kakarot was unable to decipher. Removing his boot from the young man's head, Kakarot allowed him to speak clearly. "Come again?"

"T-Then y-y-you're...w-weak…"

Kakarot scoffed. He hadn't been called weak since his older brother told him he was all those years ago, which was the driving point of him inspiring to become a Saiyan combatant. Such words only inspired him to be stronger - to become what he is today - the legendary Super Saiyan.

"Call it what you want. But you and I both see it. My power has grown to heights that had never been deemed imaginable. Coming back from the brink on death thanks to you boosted my power ten-fold. Add that on top of a Super Saiyan and I'm the strongest Saiyan that the Universe has ever witnessed. But still, you're a Super Saiyan as well. Together...imagine what we could accomplish. There's the other side to life you haven't experienced yet. Back on our home planet, we have a race of warriors just waiting to be ruled by us. It's all there. We just have to take it!"

"I'm not going anywhere with you, Kakarot...you can fuck off!"

This caused the Saiyan to frown. Backing up a bit, Kakarot stuck his hand out. Gohan could feel the heat being generated in the palm of his father's hand. He knew what was coming next. He had to brace himself, but no amount of preparation would get him ready to meet the other side.

But seconds passed...and nothing. Gohan waited and waited. Soon after, he couldn't feel nor hear the energy being formed by his father for the final attack.

"Tell me, Gohan. Is it true what that crimson looking fellow that got his head blown off, true? That you're the only one who can save this planet?"

Kibito? Surely that was the person he was speaking of.

"Y-Yes...he did. And I'm not going to stop until I'm dead!"

"Then this is the end of the road, son."

Though initially reluctant, once Kakarot rendered Gohan the first blast toward his back, he continued. Gohan's body flopped around in that single spot as his cries rang out to the heavens above. Kakarot didn't stop this for a full minute before he left Gohan's back in a smoldering smoke.

Seeing Gohan lying there, barely hanging on by a thread, grimaced. "He was wrong. Being stronger than you, that makes me more capable." Turning around, Kakarot didn't even bother to look over his shoulder before heading out. He could feel this ominous, abnormal power out and about. There was no doubt in his mind that Boo had been resurrected.

"BOOOO!"

Shin and Roshi both left the tournament arena as everyone else had to stay with the mess. They felt the fight going on and though they wanted to help Gohan, they had an even bigger problem on their hands.

"S-Such power…"

Boo showed just how monstrous he was. Not a moment after he was brought back, he had taken care of Dabura, turning him into candy and eating him hole. Despite Dabura being Babidi's most loyal servant, all he could do was laugh coldly.

"NOW'S YOUR TURN!" Boo happily exclaimed.

"Prepare yourself…" Shin told Roshi. Both of their hearts were racing, but they proceeded to get in a battle stance. Even if this meant the death of them, they would die protecting their planet and the universe.

Much to their surprise, Kakarot made a dramatic entrance, kicking Boo directly in the face, sending him sliding across the dirt.

"YOU!" Shin yelled.

"You amateurs stay back. I've got this."

Babidi laughed out loud. "Surely you're joking! Nobody compares to Majin Boo! All of you will be dead before the hour!"

Fixing his face, Boo pouts. "YOU HURT BOO! BOO MAKE YOU GO BYE-BYE!"

"Do your worst!" Kakarot powered up.

"Boo is nowhere near as powerful as he should be…" Shin told Kakarot. "He's only gotten just enough power to be brought back, but he's still dangerous. You still have a chance, though only small...to take him out."

Kakarot ignores Shin and rushes in for Boo, punching him across the face. The fat, pink blob grabs Kakarot by the hand and crushes it, eliciting a pained yell. Ramming his face into Kakarot's, the Saiyan starts to go back but Boo stretches his arm out and reels Kakarot back in, clotheslining the Saiyan. Kakarot flipped over and landed on all fours. Turning around, he fired a wave of ki at full force with his only functioning hand.

Boo swallowed Kakarot's attack whole, shocking the Saiyan. Boo's stomach was big, so big that it appeared as if he would pop at any moment. But he slimmed out once he re-directed Kakarot's own attack with his own energy added on top of it. Kakarot was engulfed whole and sent into a mountain rock which collapsed onto him.

Smiling, Boo waltzed over to Kakarot, skipping like a little kid. He grabbed the Saiyan's hand from beneath the rubble and smiled wickedly at him. "You no fun! Boo kill you now!"

Kakarot's body went into full shock when Boo blasted him directly through the chest. Letting go, Kakarot left a trail of blood as he skipped across the rocky area.

"Enough of this…" Roshi mumbled under his breath. The old Martial Artist took a deep breath and joined in on the fight.

"Roshi, no!"

Boo made an attempt to turn the old man into candy, but Roshi evaded it. He kicked Boo in the face, but it had no effect. Still, he ducked under Boo's swipe and came forth with a kip up kick right to the chin that had the Majin stumbling back. Charging a Kamehameha at point blank range, Roshi hopped above Boo, dodging Boo's stretchy arms, and firing directly at him.

Parts of Boo's body had been disintegrated and Babidi went into a panic.

Shin couldn't believe what he was seeing. Boo, despite missing his entire upper-body, formed eyes directly on his tummy and continued to fight Roshi, who moved with such elusiveness that he had to rub his eyes.

"I-I must be seeing things…" Shin gasped. "C-Can an Earthling truly be capable of such skill? No, it'd take hundreds of years of training to master such a thing. There's no way…"

Roshi managed to keep this up for a few minutes. He evaded Boo's attacks and tried his best to blow Boo away bit by bit, though to no avail. The entire time, Kakarot remained on the ground, knocking harder on death's door.

The Saiyan had questioned himself earlier if the patch of senzus he had were destroyed during his fight with Gohan, but he had been wrong. He still had one left. He knew he could hang on for a few minutes before he croaked so he was going to milk his ability to gain more power by allowing more blood to run out, getting closer and closer to death. Never before had he taken it this far, but extreme times called for extreme measures.

Boo was left at just the legs, with nothing else. Roshi tried again to attack Boo, this time head on, but one piece of Boo's body snuck up at Roshi from behind, formed into a fist, and knocked him dead smack onto the back of his neck. Being caught by surprise, Roshi was knocked down and knocked out cold.

Shin started to send electrical shocks at all of the pieces of Boo's body lying on the ground, but it only slowed down the process. Both Boo and Babidi cackled menacingly as the Majin continued to put himself together bit by bit.

Once Boo was whole again, he lifted his hands and re-directed Shin's electrical attack right back, shocking the divine entity without mercy. Pieces of Shin's clothes were being torn and burned off as he was being shocked to death. He couldn't do anything but take it. Not wanting to end it so soon, Boo stopped and rushed Shin, who had been sent skipping across land by Boo's belly. Soon after, Boo punted Shin, stretched out his arms and got a hold of his throat. Keeping a tight squeeze as he pulled him back, he listened to Shin choking as he dangled his feet, powerless to do anything.

"THAT'S RIGHT, BOO! MAKE HIM PAY! MAKE HIM SUFFER! KILL HIM SLOWLY!"

"N-No…" Shin's eyes started to roll to the back of his head. To think that things would go so horribly wrong. Not once did it dawn upon him that the literal worst case scenario would come to fruition. They had the cards stacked against them from the beginning and it showed. To go out like this...Shin wouldn't even be able to look at his ancestors in the eye. What shame.

"Yo, fatty!"

Boo's elastic structure allowed his head to do a complete 180 as he held a firm grip around Shin's neck. Directly coming for him was a bright, white ball of crackling energy. Acting quickly, he plucked the ball right into the sky, where it had stopped just a few thousand feet above the air. The light was so bright that Babidi had to cover his eyes.

Kakarot smiled. The Saiyan directed his hands at the ball. "BURST AND MIX!" he shouted.

The white ball of energy flashed a greater light as it expanded.

Babidi and Boo were both confused as hell. With his interest piqued, Shin had been dropped right there and Boo turned around to face Kakarot.

"It's been too long…" Kakarot's body involuntarily trembled and shook. All of his hairs were standing up in a frenzy. The already torn clothes he wore all ripped into pieces as his muscles expanded. Bones cracked as his hands took a bigger form. His voice deepened as the pain from this transformation started to overtake him. Babidi's eyes widened in total utter fear as Kakarot started to grow in size. Kakarot's face formed into that of a snout. Fur all over his body began to take form.

"OHHH?" Boo was most entertained by this. He could feel the pressure in the air rising. For sure, this was going to be a stronger foe and he lived for this.

Kakarot's red eyes locked onto Boo before his head jerked up and he let out a mighty roar that shook everything around him. The booming sound coming from a hundred foot ape was enough to wake even Roshi.

Mind in a daze, the very moment Roshi set his sights on the snarling ape, he immediately got up and grabbed Shin to get away from the vicinity. Boo and Babidi's undivided attention was on Kakarot so they hadn't even noticed Roshi and Shin leaving the premises.

Laughing down at their shocked faces, Kakarot relished in their priceless expressions. "HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Did you truly think you were going to stand a chance!" Kakarot roared once more.

"Th-That doesn't matter…" Shin groaned. Roshi set him down on a little rock as they watched on. "Even if he is stronger than before...that addition is meaningless...Boo will wipe the floor with him."

Seeing a bright golden energy crackle and flicker around Kakarot's body, Roshi stood there. The Saiyan's power caused the ground beneath them to crack. Kakarot, letting out one more yell, powered up like never before. In his Oozaru form, his eyes remained red, albeit everything else was golden. And like never seen before, electric sparks surrounded his hot aura.

"Still believe he's gonna mop the floor with him…?" Roshi asked.

"WHAT IS THIS!?" Babidi screamed. "BOO! KILL HIM!"

Smiling, Boo jumped right into action. "BOO NO CARE HOW BIG YOU ARE! BOO NOT SCARED! BOO STILL KILL Y-!"

Kakarot smacked Boo right into the ground and stomped on him. "Shut up, pest!" Snarling, he laughed at the frightening look plastered all over Babidi. Pointing at the warlock, Kakarot laughed so menacingly that he struck fear into him. "When I'm done with this freak...you're next!"

Removing his foot from Boo, who remained flattened, the Majin hopped right back up and sucked in air to plop himself together. Livid, the Majin started to emit steam from the holes in his face. "BOO WILL KILL YOU!" Again, Boo rocketed over to Kakarot, charging a Kamehameha in the palm of his hands. "YOU DIE NOW!"

The entire time Boo made his way toward him, Kakarot had been building up energy down in the pits of his stomach. Seeing how he was able to recover from almost literally nothing, the Saiyan knew that he shouldn't leave anything left of him. From the moment Boo fired, Kakarot opened his mouth.

It was an odd sight. Boo's pink Kamehameha entered Kakarot's mouth. It appeared that the Saiyan had been got first, but one second later, Boo's attack was being pushed back effortlessly. Eyes wide, Kakarot's oversized, monstrous wave of ki covered every aspect of Boo's body. The Saiyan proceeded to lift his hands together and add onto his mouth attack by blasting him right then and there.

For thirty seconds, Kakarot's fiery hot wave of ki had engulfed Boo's entire body. He prolonged this as long as he could to make sure that there was nothing left of him.

Once the debris and smoke cleared, there was nothing left. Shin and Roshi both gawked at the sight. They couldn't feel Boo's ki - not even the tiniest bit. Kakarot had erased the creature from existence.

Lashing his tail on the ground, Babidi had fallen over on his behind. Absolutely petrified, he wasn't capable of uttering a word.

Kakarot blasted Babadi's ship to pieces prior to destroying the artificial moon he created so that he could revert back to his natural mortal form. He could feel his power decreasing by the second as he shrunk back to normal size, but that extra boost in power. Kakarot did his best to hold onto it. His hair was still golden and upright as he went back to normal, but he still had that boost in power going back to the surface.

Jerking his head up, Kakarot let out a deafening yell, exploding in enough power to destroy entire worlds if that was his attention. He formed a gaping crater dead smack in the middle of where he was. Shin, Roshi, and Babidi could feel him, though none could see.

Then silence.

Slowly, Kakarot had arisen from the crater. Sparks zapped all around him in his ascended power he had obtained from being an Oozaru. Less bangs in his hair showed as it appeared even more spiked than before.

Though butt naked, Kakarot showed no shame as he walked over to Babadi, who frantically crawled backward as his eyes trembled. Once Kakarot towered over him, the Saiyan stopped and looked him right in the eye. He was all too familiar with this look growing up. This was the expression of despair and hopelessness. There was nothing else he could possibly do and it scared him the most.

Sticking his hand out, Kakarot smiled warmly. "I have to thank you, warlock. If not for you, I wouldn't have been able to obtain such a magnitude of power. Now you realize that nobody, not even your precious Boo, could be capable of defying a Saiyan's true might. So I very much appreciate it."

Babadi laughed nervously. Still, being alive, Kakarot was still at least somewhat under his control. He defied everything he told him but at the end of the day he resurrected Boo, which was his main goal. But like Boo, who killed Dabura, Kakarot killed Boo, showing his superiority to all the others. Maybe he was just making a point - a point to show that he was a cut above all his other servants. Maybe, just maybe, Kakarot desired to be his one and only top man.

With the small hope that his life would be spared, Babadi grabbed Kakarot's hand. "It was my pleasure." And like that, he let out a breath of relief.

That way he could at least die peacefully.

Before Babadi knew what hit him, Kakarot let Babidi's hand go, stretched his own out and blew his head off on the spot before he vaporized his entire body. Reduced to ashes, Babadi was no more.

So with Babadi dead, the remote bit of influence Babadi had over the Saiyan was lifted. Though Babadi's mark was gone, Kakarot's power remained the same. A certain calmness had overwhelmed the Saiyan. Though back to what could be considered normal, all of what he had just did flashed through his head non-stop.

Burying his face into his hand, Kakarot shook his head. He was unable to hear Shin and Roshi call out to him as everything else was noise. Though he saved the planet and his son, who he did leave alive, albeit barely...he couldn't help but feel shame. He let his nature overtake him on his quest for not only power, but in an effort to get rid of the threat of the Planet Earth. After all, he didn't have only just one goal.

"Y-You actually did it…" Shin mumbled. "You saved the Universe…"

Kakarot didn't care, though. He had other things on his mind. "My son...I know you felt where he was last located. Find him and nurse him back to health." He looked over to Roshi. "Make sure you gather the Dragon Balls and resurrect all the good lives lost today."

"Wait...are you headed somewhere?" Roshi asked.

Shin, holding his hand out, raises suspicion from Kakarot. But the Saiyan calms himself once he realizes that Shin only decided to dress the Saiyan in the Saiyan armor he's grown accustomed to growing up. He smiled, but only briefly from this small gesture.

"I'm leaving," Kakarot answered the old man. "At least for now. There are other dangers in the world that must be taken care of."

"Like who?" Roshi asked.

Kakarot didn't answer. The Saiyan knew that his ship remained around his home somewhere, buried actually. Flying off, Kakarot didn't share another word.

There was only one person on his mind. A person he's heard countless stories of yet never got to meet personally.

Freeza.

Anonymously96: I think he'd have transformed to a ssj only when it came to him, in a dire need. Not because he "ACTED" to be a good person. If he does take this path he'll be limited to a ssj1 instead of transforming higher and surpassing Gohan as a ssj3. Hopefully he understands that soon. Also Gohan won't be able to win. Kakarot is much stronger. His rage boost gives temporary power, but he can't ascend to a ssj2, the body is just not strong enough and his control on ssj1 is no

Response: The manner in which Kakarot transformed was good enough; see, in this story, I took S-Cells into account. Kakarot was strong enough to transform long ago, but he still wasn't necessarily all that good. Spending his entire Son's life on Earth for sure has caused him to calm down, develop a bond with his family, and be kind enough to garner enough S-Cells to become a Super Saiyan...so I used Babadi to help break Kakarot's limits and have him transcend. And as you saw, Kakarot turning into an Oozaru gave him a boost in power as he took all his rage out to beat Boo, ascending as a Great Ape. Kakarot's base form here is stronger than Goku's counterpart in the Cell Saga, which is more than enough for him to ascend once a Super Saiyan. The only reason Gohan had the edge when he first started fighting was because of his rage; people tend to underestimate the rage boost that Gohan tends to get when truly anger. In this story, this was the true first time he experienced something to make him absolutely livid, so his power sky-rocketed like never before. And you're right, Gohan's body isn't durable enough to take the strain of becoming Super Saiyan; that'll be solved later on in the story, though.

asonia99: Wut? No Goten?

Response: Nope. I didn't bring Goten in the story because I didn't see how he'd manage to propel the story in any way. Once the epilogue is published, you can go on to assume that Kakarot and Chi-Chi do conceive another child; you'll just have to see how it ends, though.

The reviews are much appreciated. Hope you all enjoyed.
