Hi, I see that some people are still having trouble viewing this story on the website but the app seems to work fine for others. I'm not sure what's going on with it but I didn't want to stop uploading in case it gets fixed and the people who run FanFiction don't mention anything about it. I hope it gets sorted soon so everyone can see it again. Here's the next chapter :)
As Ricky told him Kyle was in his room, Brax walked into the hallway to check on his brother. Kyle's door was slightly ajar, so he opened it up, seeing him holding Lillie against his chest. Bianca briefly glanced over at him before focusing back on Kyle and Lillie as he walked inside.
"Kyle, it's going to be fine. They'll find her." Brax says.
"No, she'll come for Lillie. That's what she said when I went to see her down at the station." Kyle says, freaking out.
"She won't. Cops have the house pretty much surrounded, there's no way she can get in here. If she had any sense, she would have ran far away from here for good without coming near either of you." Brax says.
"What if she doesn't? She said Lillie was their daughter and she would get her back-"
"Kyle, she will not get Lillie back. She is your daughter and no one else is going to be looking after he other than you. Even if there was a small chance that she managed to get past the cops outside, she wouldn't get past us. And there's no way she'd leave alive." Brax says, smirking as he sees a small smile from his brother.
"And there's no way you'd leave without handcuffs on you." Bianca says as he looks at her. "But I wouldn't blame you, I know Heath would do the same, we all would."
"You would as well, Bianca?" Brax asks, raising an eyebrow at her as Kyle watches on, noticing the slight tension between them.
"Don't be ridiculous. But I'd give Heath a very strong alibi to make sure he wouldn't be sent away for doing right by his family. I guess I could give you one as well but only because you're needed by some of this family, like your wife and daughter, nothing else." She says, staring at him before walking out.
"Well that wasn't awkward." Kyle mutters, looking at Brax.
"You would have thought being married to Heath for a few years meant she would know how this family worked. Guess you can't win everyone over, even people like Bianca." Brax says.
"I thought you two got on?" Kyle asks. "You've always been okay before."
"We're civil for the sake of Heath but we've never got on. She blames me for being the reason Charlie's dead." Brax says.
"Was Charlie the one Pirovic killed?" Kyle frowns, not having heard much about her, and he was happy for a distraction from Jasmine being on the loose.
"Yeah, she was my girlfriend at the time, and Bianca's best mate. Heath killed Pirovic's brother years before and he came for revenge the only way he knows how to. Charlie was also a cop, which he hated even more, and shot her to get back at us, at me." Brax says, shaking his head. "If I had found her a bit earlier, maybe even by a few minutes, things might be different now."
"I thought shooting Casey was revenge for something?"
"Nah that was because he felt like ruining my life more. Just this time I was there and could get an ambulance in time. Worst thing is I recently found out Charlie was pregnant when she was killed." Brax mutters.
"Was it your kid?" Kyle asks, glancing down as Brax nods. "Does Ricky know?"
"Yeah, she was with me when I found out. She's been great about all of this to do with Charlie, turns out she was the one leaving flowers at her grave as well." Brax lightly smiles. "Thing is, I know they wouldn't have got on if they met." He scoffs, wondering how it would have gone if they did.
"Is that so?" Ricky raises an eyebrow as she walks in with Emilia in her arms. "I recon we would have got on like a house on fire teaming up against you." She grins.
"You keep thinking that." Brax says.
"I will." She nods.
"What would have happened if you came back and Charlie was still alive?" Kyle asks.
"Well, I would never have been able to get Brax away from her, so I guess I would have found someone else." Ricky lightly shrugs.
"Like Nate." Brax mutters.
"Hey, that was just a one night stand." Ricky moans.
"Wait, you and Nate have slept together?" Kyle lightly smirks, not having known this.
"A very long time ago, yes." Ricky nods, looking up at Brax. "We weren't even together at the time."
"Nah, cause your brother broke us up before trying to kill me."
"Was Nate even here when that happened?" Kyle frowns, vaguely remembering Adam Sharpe and his murderous ways, nearly having been a victim himself.
"Yeah, he just wasn't working at the hospital yet. He was too busy trying to bone Ricky." Brax says, smirking as she whacks him.
"Not my fault I was too irresistible." She smirks.
"Then you ended up with me." Brax scoffs.
"Least I got a daughter out of it, so I can't complain." She shrugs.
"As long as I can get a son, we'll be equal." Brax jokes.
"Nah, I think another daughter will be nice. Make this a girl powered house." Ricky says.
"Isn't it already?" Kyle smiles as she nods.
"Nothing wrong with us Braxton women taking charge for a while, even if some of them can't talk yet." Ricky smiles, gesturing their daughters.
"As long as it's kept to certain Braxton women." Brax mutters, Ricky frowning at him.
"Brax and Bianca are having some disagreements." Kyle lightly smirks.
"Again?" Ricky sighs. "What's it over this time?"
"Nothing for you to worry about." Brax says.
"You want a son, you'll have to start talking." She faintly smiles, hoping it would be enough leverage.
"Blackmailing me now?" Brax lightly scoffs.
"If you see it like that, then maybe." She says.
"Gross." Kyle mumbles, shaking his head as they laugh at him.
"What's gross about blackmail?" Brax asks.
"Cause I know it's cause you want a son." Kyle cringes. "I don't need to know what you two get up to."
"It's sex, Kyle, everyone does it." Ricky laughs.
"No they don't, not everyone." Kyle says.
"That's because you don't have a partner but do have a daughter to look after." Brax says.
"You have a daughter as well." Kyle says, then quickly adds. "Lillie's falling asleep, so I better make sure it's quiet in here."
"Try and get some rest yourself." Brax says, noticing Kyle go quiet again, nerves rising in him.
"Yeah." Kyle mutters.
"Everything will be okay, we're all here to help you keep watch on Lillie." Brax says.
"I know." Kyle lightly nods as he gently places Lillie down in her cot to not wake her up. "Like you said, there's enough police that she'll be found."
"Yeah, she will. I'll make sure of it." Brax says. "I'm going to make some calls. Just try not to worry, I'll sort it. How about I book you in for a session with Beckie?"
"Uh…" Kyle trails off as he thinks about it. "Yeah, okay." He nods.
As much as he hoped he wouldn't have to have any counselling sessions any more, Kyle knew he had to when he felt like this. He saw the amount of police officers out looking for Jasmine when he went to Angelo's with his brothers, although he didn't know it at the time that they were for her.
He also liked talking to Beckie, he found it easy as she was a stranger. He knew she wasn't judging him for his nerves and sad times, which made it easier for him to talk about it. He found it easy with Brax as well, but he knew it was different. It was Beckie's job to help him through his struggling times, and it was Brax's job to make sure he stayed safe, he said so himself many times before.
