Chapter 65: Every Rose Has Its Thorns
For those that think that all nature is about is its beauty and peace, obviously never met Krinos and Lena when they were mad. Though mad is one thing, fury is another. And right now, the two nature users were full of it.
"Question, do we really need any backup when this entire forest is our own playground," Krinos asked the siren of nature.
"As much as I like your confidence, not even Demeter herself could take on an army in a forest," Lena said. "But when my family does get here, we will make Hades and his furies look like a puppy in comparison."
"You are one scary siren sometimes, you know," Krinos tells her.
"Just because I let White have that job, for the most part, doesn't mean that the rest of our kind can't be just as terrifying," Lena evilly giggled.
"I stand by my earlier statement," Krinos says.
"Time to call my sister's and brothers," Lena stated.
She then grew a large circle of flowers. With a snap of her fingers, light swirled in the circle like a whirlpool on the ground.
"Are you a hundred percent sure that you want me to get the other sirens," Lena asked the Lord of Nature.
"What do you mean," Krinos asked her, confused.
"I mean what we could possibly do to your forest," Lena says. "There are sirens for fire, lightning, storm, ice, and every other element that can damage your forest. You love this place."
"That, I do," Krinos told her. "But the forest can be regrown. Any damage that does occur is done in the name of protecting magic and each other. I can deal with it. But if one agent so much as picks a single flower, i'll feed them to the D-4."
We'll get to the D-4 soon enough. Lena nodded, then jumped down. Vanishing into her portal.
"And she says that I know how to make an entrance and exit," Krinos mumbled.
*****Isle of Sirens*****
Lena gathered all the best warriors on the isle. She had them all stand with her. She faced them with her back to the portal. While they were prepared, the sirens were confused about the reason why they were about to fight.
"As you all might have picked up along the mystic grapevine, Lord White and Prince Danny were found some months ago," Lena started.
The sirens all burst into questions at that news. They heard the whispers, but so had every other isle. They didn't know for certain and sirens are very investigative creatures. They never form an opinion without all the facts. Especially something concerning their future king.
"Is he okay?"
"Is he coming back?"
"Have the monsters that took him been brought to justice?"
"Where is he?"
"What's going on, Lena?"
"SILENCE," Lena yelled. "I know you are all confused, worried, angry even, but we have other matters at hand. White and Danny are, indeed, alive and well. But the ones that took them, the Guys In White, have been attacking the sacred grounds on Earth as a way to make magic go away. As off now, the Eternal Spring, Delos, Transylvania, and Camelot are all under attack."
The sirens all started to panic. Humans have been one of the main issues for sirens since ancient Greece, when they spread vicious lies about them using their hypnotic voices to lure in ships and eat the crew.
"ENOUGH," Lena screamed. "We are handling it. A team of young heroes has been helping us. The very ones that saved our prince. The ghosts, were-creatures, Alya, Lord of Nature, the LeFey siblings, and vampires are all with us. Lord White is with High Witch Melinda at the London magic school. Prince Danny is with Prince Orion of the harpies in Athens.''
"So, the witches, wizards, sirens, and harpies are also with us," another siren asked.
"Yes," Lena answered. "We are at war. But let me tell you something. We are sirens. We may be thought of as only bird people that sing, but we are more. Our voices, our hearing, our hearts... are weapons. We don't let anyone get in the way of what we know is right. We fly, we sing, we kick the butts of anyone we want. We fight for our home, for our friends, FOR OUR FUTURE KING."
The sirens all cheered and raised their fists, pumped to fight.
*****Back To The Forest*****
Krinos was not a happy nature lord. Only a few minutes after Lena left, he felt a foreign presence in his forest. And it did not feel friendly. He floral swirled to the presence.
"This is my forest," he yelled to the agents approaching. "You either leave now, with all your limbs attached, or you get pulled apart by the trees. And i'll do it with a smile."
"Just like a monster to take pleasure in another's pain," one agent sneered.
"You think you can take all of us," another glared at him.
"Let me introduce myself," Krinos said. "Krinos, the lord of nature. And this... is my forest."
Vines, roots, and branches all shot out from behind him. The agents started firing at the plants. The nature lord evilly grinned as the blasts hardly effected his assault. Agents were picked up, spun around like a merry-go-round gone wild, then thrown somewhere else in the forest. Then there were the ones becoming trapped in tree trunks or the ground. The last we're whipped and slapped around by the vines.
A few agents managed to evade enough of the plants to get a good aim at Krinos. They all fired at him. But he surprised them by vanishing in his floral swirl. The blasts only hit where he had been.
"You can't. Catch. Me," Krinos said in a sing-song tone, suddenly appearing behind them.
They turned around only to be blown off their feet by a slash of leaves and petals.
"You'll run out of power sooner or later," one agent tried sounding confident in the face of magical danger. "You can't fight all of us alone."
But Krinos only crossed his arms, a slight grin forming on his lips.
"Who said anything about alone," he snickered.
Then, like stars falling from the heavens, sirens crashed onto the battlefield.
"Sirens," Lena ordered. "Time to scream."
They all took in deep breaths, then let loose. Over a dozen different elemental sound waves washed over the land. Fire, nature, water, storm clouds, lightning, stone, ice, light, even shadows. The many screams sent a large portion of the army flying in all directions.
"Feel the burn," shrieked Fiara, siren of fire, as she launched fireballs everywhere. "Feel the burn."
She happily flew around, throwing more fire.
"She's always been the little pyro, even without the powers," Lena giggled.
"Girls," Krinos shook his head, then jumped onto one of his vine twists.
Aaron, siren of ice, waved his hands. Waves of the magic shot out. It hit the ground, freezing it on contact. Multiple ice spikes sprung up, impaling a few agents. Some tried to shoot him, but he gracefully dodged.
"You guys need to chill out," he snickered.
Cupping his hands, he blew. It sent a strong blizzard of ice and snow at the agents. If they were not frozen, they were buried in snow.
''And that, my friends, is how you give someone the cold shoulder,'' Aaron joked, flying off.
Another group of agents tried to go around them, try another route in the forest. But with Krinos' magic at work, they easily got lost. The ground beneath their feet then started to rumble and quake, like makin' a shakin' milkshake. That was when Iris, siren of earth, appeared. Her eyes glowed green with her power.
''Just like Krinos, I don't take too kindly to those that mess with nature and the earth,'' she said darkly.
Raising her hands, the mini earthquake got worse. As they all lost their balance, out came Aquata, the siren of water. With her came multiple slashes of water. It knocked most of the group unconscious. The rest became victim to streams of water she commanded. She willed them around their heads, like fishbowls. Only without any air.
''Drowning is a very fun way to kill," Aquata evilly giggled. "You see them take their last breath."
"You've been spending too much time with the Black Lake merpeople," Iris told her.
"Yeah, I might need to get out more," Aquata says, dropping the now dead agents. "Taking pleasure in death does not suit me."
"Or any siren for that matter," Iris said. "Wonder where Silas has disappeared to."
Speaking of him, he was having some fun of his own. Silas, siren of storm, was floating above more of the army with a very mischievous smile on his face. Spreading out his arms, the skies darkened above them.
"I'm not the siren of storm for nothing," he laughed.
Lightning and sonic booms of thunder came crashing down from the clouds. Agents were either burned to a crisp by the lightning, or went deaf from the thunder sonic booms.
"Ah, the joys of being me," Silas snickered. "Wonder where Iris is."
Back to the lord of nature, Krinos was having the time of his life. Nature of his domain, and these agents were stupid enough to walk right into it. If a nature lord could ever be defeated in his own domain, then he/she does not deserve the title.
As Krinos made another tree punch an agent in the face, he was caught off guard by a blast to the back. The back of his shoulder was smoking as he fell onto his knees. About two dozen agents surrounded him. Krinos noticed that one matched what Siren and Phantom had told them about Agent K, another of their main tormentors.
"Serves a monster, like you, right," one sneered.
"If only that had finished the freak off," another growled.
Two approached him from behind as Krinos slowly got up. With a frightfully calm look on his face, Krinos slightly flicked his hands up as his arms stayed by his sides. Two small root twists came shooting from the ground and impaled both of the agents behind him threw their chests.
The agents looked terrified as their two comrades fell to the ground and the root twists slipped away as if their were never there. The look on Krinos's face was enough to scare every last one of them. They all tried to run, but the trees came to life, shooting branches, roots, and vines. They entangled with the other trees, making a round cage and trapping the remaining agents with a very pissed elemental lord.
"You," Krinos growled, eyeing Agent K.
He raised his left arm, making a root twist burst from the ground and wrap tightly around K's torso and binding his arms down. The other agents were too scared to even move. other than trembling like Shaggy and Scooby when faced with one of their ghosts. (AN: Gods do I love Scooby Doo)
"I was always told never to forget my roots; and thanks to all of you, I never will," Krinos said, walking 'round the scared stiff agent. "Nor will I forget the humans that murdered countless nymphs and dryads just to build useless buildings. The humans that pollute the earth with their insufferable garbage. The humans that tortured my best friends for no reason other than paranoia and conspiracy theories. You..."
He raised his other arm to make a small part of the twist move up to go around his neck.
"No, no please," Agent K pleaded.
"...Hurt my family," Krinos finished.
With a flick of his wrists, the root snapped the agent's neck. His body dropped to the ground as the root pulled away. His attention then turned to the rest of the trapped army.
"We do not run, or hide," Krinos told them. "Entertain you human stains any longer."
He bent down pushing his arms out. Vine twists grew from the ground at an astonishing rate. At the end of three of them sprouted vicious flowers that looked like a cross between a snake and a venus flytrap. Slowing rising up, Krinos made the plants grow toward the agents. They all screamed as the flowers released poisonous pollen gas over them. They started dropping like flies.
"You shall all be made to pay," Krinos yelled.
