This is Part III of the Veterans Day Special. Last time, Evol was bested, freeing Build's world from his command. But not before Geiz, who also joined the battle being saved, claimed Woz is responsible for all of these shenanigans in the first place. And Diend claims he can solve it, as he apparently had part of the Prophecy the whole time. But as everyone returned to the Temple, a distressed Agito emerged, looking for aid. So how's that going to turn out? Read on to discover...
(Our story resumes in the Temple's library, where Spyro and Cynder are piecing together the Prophecy with Ignitus, seated between Woz and Geiz to keep the latter from killing the former. Before long the group is joined by Diend, carrying a trio of parchment fragments, with tear marks aligning with the previous edges of the known fragments of the Prophecy)
Diend: (Laying out the parchment) Just as I promised, my fragments of this prophecy, out of who knows how many.
Spyro: Let's see what they say.
(With that, Diend rolls out the parchment to it's full length, revealing another tear on the other end)
Cynder: So there's at least one more piece.
Ignitus: Interesting. It looks like there's more to The Messenger's story than we thought. According to this, the Messenger, after hiding away the Child of Night, serves the Priest of Destiny, and gathers the means for the great evil to raise his army, created from the power of the warriors that he would fight alongside. At that point, the Messenger realizes his king was but a pawn, and then
Diend: And that's only the first piece. (Lays his second piece into the Prophecy) Check this out.
Ignitus: (Translating the runes) But from the great evil's forces, one will turn on him, lending aid to the destined dragons.
Spyro: So one of Malefor's lackeys is going to defect?
Cynder: If this Prophecy holds true, as it has so far.
Geiz: And I can confirm it still does. Given how Woz here destroyed Riders across time lines to ensure this happened!
(With the accusation thrown at him, Woz... shows no objections, and rather seems to accept it.)
Spyro: Woz, is this true?
Woz: (With a sigh) Yes. I was the one who gathered the Ridewatches. And... I kind of lied about how they worked.
Cynder: What?
Woz: The Ridewatches and their respective Riders' powers can exist, because the Ridewatches are constructed from their histories, taken from alternate timelines, ones where they no longer exist. But the reason Wizard's Driver reacted was the truth. Somehow the Ridewatches have become linked to their counterparts in this timeline.
Spyro: But how does this work? If these Ridewatches contain the powers of the Kamen Riders, how can they revive these monsters?
Woz: Like I said, the Ridewatches contain the entire history of the Kamen Rider they're based on, villains and everything. That's why those other timelines still exist.
Geiz: Now do you see why he can't be trusted?
Woz: But I turned on Oma Zi-O after I saw what he was. I'm certain he's the Priest of Destiny.
Geiz: You really think a piece of paper can just spell out the future like that? Good luck getting me to believe that.
Diend: (Pulling out the third piece of parchment) Perhaps this will change your mind.
(With that, Diend attaches the third fragment of the Prophecy to the rest, with Ignitus staring at it intently, deciphering the ancient runes)
Cynder: (Seeing Ignitus' gaze) What's it say?
Ignitus: It speaks of an alliance of three, rising one by one to aid the ancient warriors. First, The Messenger takes up arms, embracing their reaper past. Second, The Child of Night steps from the darkness, and wields living light, the one thing that can pierce the great evil's shadow. And lastly, the Rebel, one from somewhere forgotten with forbidden knowledge. Only if what he knows is restored can the ancient warriors prevail.
Spyro: So this person's amnesiac?
Ignitus: Not if I'm reading this right. It's more like the rest of the ancient warriors have forgotten something, and The Rebel is the only one who does remember it.
Geiz: That's a new one on me. I can't think of anything I remember that fits that. Other than Woz betraying the Resistance, since we seemed to have brushed over that little detail.
Cynder: Look, we're going to get back to that in due time.
Geiz: That time is long overdue.
Spyro: Look Geiz, even if you hate Woz, you two are quintessential to winning this war. So can you put this on hold for now?
Geiz: I've held off long enough! He needs to face justice for what he's done!
Woz: And you honestly think I don't believe that?!
(As Woz and Geiz start staring daggers into each other, shrieking can be heard coming from outside. Hearing this, Spyro and Cynder immediately put their little Prophecy reading on hold and rush into the situation, Woz and Geiz following not far behind, Ignitus still trying to keep them from killing each other. And as they run, we see the scene unfolding outside, where a man dressed completely in black is walking through the area, and as he does, random civilians start suddenly passing out for seemingly no reason. Just as the opponent enters the arena, Spyro, Cynder, et al arrive)
Spyro: Who are you? And what have you done to these people?!
OverLord: A test. Nothing more. Nothing less.
Cynder: Enough with the poetic-sounding nonsense. This is your one chance to surrender. I suggest you take it.
OverLord: Surrender? (As the Mark of Malefor glows upon his right hand) No. I don't think I will.
(With that, the OverLord charges a strange dark power from his mark, which he passive aggressively throws at Cynder, but Spyro jumps into the way as the blast splits in two against his side, one half hitting him, the other half hitting Cynder, but sending both crashing to the ground pretty quickly)
OverLord: (Having observed all of this) Interesting. This will prove quite a test.
Ignitus: What have you done?!
OverLord: The Dark Seed of Agito has been planted in both. Only the strongest can survive what comes next.
Woz: (Now enraged) You bastard! (Takes out his Woz Miridewatch) Undo your curse or suffer my wrath!
OverLord: Not a curse. A test. Their love for each other was noted by my predecessors. If it is strong enough, they will live. (Looking around at his handiwork) They all will. They have until sunset to prove their strength.
(With that, the OverLord vanishes in a flash of light, leaving everyone confused. But as the group turns to face Spyro and Cynder, Agito has suddenly appeared.)
Agito: (Seeing something in Spyro and Cynder's eyes) It's worse than I thought.
Ignitus: Who are you?
Agito: A friend. Someone who's seen this before, to a point. The point being, I can help with this situation. Now we must get them to safety. We don't have much time.
(Still confused, Ignitus, Woz, and Geiz help Agito get Spyro, Cynder, and the affected civilians to safety as our tale ends for today)
This concludes Part III of the Veteran's Day Update. For the finale, head on over to the Mortal Kombat Intros. Okay, that was a rather confusing way to introduce the Agito Arc, but that was a confusing series, so I think it fits pretty well. So, the OverLord is back, and apparently has been able to create a Dark Seed of Agito, whatever that means. It looks like Agito knows something about what they're dealing with. So what is it exactly? Tune in next time to find out. Same time... same channel!
