Six years later, Chris and Kat's world...
Christopher Thorndyke, now eighteen years old, smiled to himself as he typed furiously on his computer. Beside him was the machine that Tails and Chuck had used to send Penny, Sonic, and Silver to their world.
"Chris?"
Chris started a little, turned around to see Helen behind him.
"It's time." Helen said.
"Oh, yeah!" Chris said, cheekily rubbing his hand through his hair. "That's right! We're supposed to meet Kat, Danny, and Francis for lunch today!" He ran over to her wheelchair handles and quickly turned her around. Helen laughed. "Woah! Easy, Chris!" She laughed. "They know you're always late!"
Chris chuckled and pushed her out the door.
...
Soon, Chris found himself in the passenger's seat as Helen drove to their meeting place. "Why don't you let me drive for a change?" He pleaded.
"No way!" Helen said. "Chuck designed this car especially for me, remember? And besides, riding while you drive is too... nerve racking."
"What does that mean?!" Chris snapped.
"I'm a much better driver!" Helen said. "I'd never even gotten a parking ticket, which is more than I can say for you!"
"It's not my fault somebody turned that one way sign around!"
...
"So, who's going to test out your machine, Chris?" Francis asked curiously.
"Why don't you send me, Chris? Danny asked. "I'm not afraid to be the first one to give it a try!"
"It's not ready yet." Chris said with a smile. "My machine's totally useless until I could figure out how to use Chaos Control."
Kat smiled. "But as soon as he does, we'll all be able to go to Sonic's world and together and see Penny again!"
"Sounds dangerous to me." Francis said.
"Yeah." Danny smirked. "If Chris messes it up, we could all be toast!"
Chris frowned at them. "Well you don't have to come with me, then," He snapped.
Everyone giggled.
Danny smiled. "Hard to believe it's been six years already. If Penny was here, she'd be nineteen."
Kat nodded, looking down. "I miss her."
Hellen smiled. "It went fast."
Francis grinned. "Yeah! Almost at Sonic speed!"
Chris smiled softly as he thought about the day where he had to say goodbye to Sonic. What had happened was that he decided to turn the machine off so Sonic wouldn't be able to go back. He remembered that last night they shared together...
"You collected the Chaos Emeralds! Now I see! You don't need the machine that Tails and Grandpa built. You can cause Chaos Control yourself! You were able to gather them all in a flash! Because you're so fast!" Chris said as he shed a small tear.
He closed his eyes and looked down. "Even though I've been tough to deal with lately, you never gave up on me, or Penny, Sonic. Thank you."
"Chris!" Sonic smiled as he walked up to the boy. To Chris's surprise, Sonic grabbed Chris and placed the boy on his back, and Sonic darted off.
"I'm going to go really fast." Sonic said with a smile. "Hang on!"
Chris smiled, closed his eyes.
"SONIC!"
