GOLDEN
The sunlight was pure gold today at the pier.
Ty Lee's golden eyeshadow matched it. Okay, maybe not her eyeshadow. She stole it from her oldest sister to wear today.
It was an incredibly special day; her sister would understand.
She planned to tell Azula how she felt during this supervised outing to the pier.
She has had butterflies in her stomach since she woke up this morning. Her throat was tight and her palms sweaty.
Azula noticed, but she did not care enough to mention it.
They stopped their walking and chatting at the end of one of the docks. For a moment, they stood in silence and gazed out at horizon.
"I'm going to be the one to conquer everything out there," said Azula, gesturing loosely at the edge of the visible sea. "Just watch me. It'll all be mine one day."
"Can I be yours too?" blurted out Ty Lee. It was not the speech she planned.
"You already are," said Azula without a second thought.
Ty Lee's eyes widened. "I mean as… I mean like…"
Azula smirked at her.
"I know exactly what you mean."
She pecked Ty Lee on the lips and resumed gazing out at her future empire.
Ty Lee felt as warm and golden as the sun.
