It had only been a day since Minami had gotten back from the field trip with everyone, but when she came back from school, earlier than Kyo and Yuki because they had other things to do, you could imagine her surprise when she opened the door the living room and saw Rin with sweat down her face and a terrified look on her face.
"I-Isuzu…?" Minami whispered.
She immediately had her arms up to protect her, her back against the wall. "Don't be angry! Don't be angry! Don't be angry! Don't be angry! Don't be angry Mom.. Dad! Don't be angry!" She kept repeating the same words on and on and Minami couldn't help but freeze at her spot unable to look away, unable to move.
She couldn't tell how much time had passed as she stood at that spot. It was only until Isuzu passed out that Minami was able to move. She hadn't even noticed she was shaking until she went to grab the house phone and called the first number she thought of.
"Hello?" A familiar voice rang in her head but the words wouldn't come out of her mouth, as though they had frozen at her throat.
It was at these moments when she wished happiness and peace could last forever.
"Hello…?" The voice repeated. "... Minami is that you?"
She couldn't say anything and just stood there, not even realizing that she phone call had ended.
"Minami?" A large hand snapped her out of her head and she looked up. She blinked a few times and looked up.
"Ha… tori? What are you doing here?" Minami asked confused and his forehead against hers, his hands on her shoulders and let out a deep sigh.
"What am I going to do with you...?" Hatori sighed again and she felt herself blush as he wrapped his arms around her. "Rin will be fine, I put her up in your room for right now, since she'll probably run away from the hospital."
"She's not being hospitalized?" Minami asked against his chest.
"Since her injury is result and not due to her condition, she won't need to be." Hatori said in her ear. She wrapped her arms around his as he slowly took a seat on the floor, his back against the counter that held the telephone.
A familiar tiredness swept over her.
"I wish Tohru was here." Minami whispered as tears ran down her face.
She couldn't do anything.
A/N: I'll miss though breather chapter. A short but intense chapter. As Minami's depression is a battle, sometimes there's good days sometimes there's bad days. Sometimes you're really happy, other times you're very, very sad. Rin has stomach ulcers (that's why she used to be hospitalized as a kid but also due to her parents' abuse, as said in an interview). Minami froze for a reason and I'm curious if any of you will guess it.
