Chapter 67: Drugs Are Not Cool Ever!
On November...
Breakdance time in the dance studio on a Tuesday afternoon on the first week of the month and this is where the Hip Hop clique hangs out. A recap is that the clique is made out of students who have talent in either breakdancing, beatboxing or rapping. Some have 2 talents and a few have all 3.
In the studio, some breakdancer named Tony Sync is doing a windmill while his peers cheered for him including Dewey, Webby and 2 of their friends, Deco and B.N.D. Opposite them, the beatboxers and rappers are working on their sound effects and their raps. 2 of the members named JC and CJ are working on the audio also.
"Why aren't we dewing much of the activity?" Dewey asked. "We're still getting the freshmen adjusted to this clique." B.N.D replied as he spoke on in Chinese. "Bro, lay off the Chinese language." said Deco as Webby just hummed to herself as another breakdancer demonstrated the robot.
After school...
The 4 friends went out to do homework together at the Arctic Wind ice cream parlour. After that, Deco treated everyone for ice cream as the 4 friends can be seen eating their cold treats. Dewey's eating hot fudge sundae, Webby's eating a bowl of strawberry ice cream which has 5 scoops on it, Deco's drinking a chocolate ice cream milkshake and B.N.D is eating a chocolate ice cream cake. As they ate and chat, the news is being broadcasted as all the patrons watched it.
(Cutaway to the news)
Roxanne: "I'm outside Carnivora International High where a gang of 13 students were arrested for drug dealing and right now, juvenile officers are taking them away."
The scene reveals the students with paper bags on their heads as the officers escorted them to the vans.
Roxanna: "This is the 76th case which involves drugs and this year, the number of drug-related offenses is skyrocketing especially when most of the cases are from all 16 high schools in Duckburg."
(End Cutaway)
"What's with drugs and people these days?" Webby asked. "Drugs are like treasure. You take a whiff, you won't stop getting all the stuff in your head and then you go crazy for more. I know this stuff because in the Philippines, illegal drug dealings are almost everywhere. My family didn't wanna get involved and few years later, we got out." Deco explained and after that, he took a sip of his milkshake. "This is starting to get out of control. They better do something about it." said B.N.D. "I hope so too." Dewey agreed. "Because something tells me that addiction is a strong force that can't be broken and released."
2 days later...
After school, the 4 friends meet up and went through some practice as they worked on their dance moves for an hour. After that, they decided to go to Canary's Jr for some snack. On their way there, Webby noticed something. "Is that..." She looked at it for a moment while the boys went ahead and after seeing it, "This, is perfect!" She ran off and dragged them back here. "Dude, how is your girl able to drag my batwings?" B.N.D asked. "More like, how did she drag 3 dudes herself?" Deco asked. "More importantly, Webby why did you drag us back?" Dewey asked as she pointed at an ad as the boys stood up and looked at it.
"A breakdance competition?" Dewey read.
"On Saturday 13th November at the Duckburg Megamall?" Deco read.
"Event known as, "Drugs Are Not Cool Ever!" B.N.D read.
"And it's a fundraising event!" said Webby and she explained the details. "Form a team of 3-5 breakdancers and showcase your dance moves! Winners win limited edition tickets to-"
"To Universals Studio Duckburg! Oh man! I've always wanted to go there!" Dewey cheered. "Best rides, attractions, souvenirs and food!" B.N.D exclaimed. "Now this competition is worth participating!" said Deco. "It says here, go online to sign up for the competition and buy tickets for entry to watch the event." Webby read on. "Then it's settled! We're entering! The 4 of us!" Dewey declared as all cheered and continued their way to Canary's Jr.
At the joint...
The 4 of them are seated as French fries, criss-cut fries, chicken tenders and 4 sodas are served to them. "We need to come up with the dance moves in sequence from start to end." Deco stated as he sipped his soda. "Right, any ideas?" Dewey asked as he ate a piece of criss-cut fry.
"How about the basics? Step-ups and then it can transit to pikes or windmills or-"
"B.N.D, I recommend we save the advanced moves for the last. Seen it before in some movie." Webby suggested as she ate a French fry. "What movie?" Dewey asked. "It's about 2 FBI agents going on an undercover mission and they disguised themselves as women to do so. In one scene, they pulled off some wicked dance moves!" Webby explained.
"Interesting." said Deco.
"I think you're up to something. We're listening." said B.N.D who's in the middle of chewing a chicken tender as the boys listened to Webby as she explained the dance moves used and it's sequence.
Half an hour later, "I can only say this. I think we've got the dewnce moves and sequence planned. Next step is to practice and work on it." Dewey suggested. "Drop by at my place on the weekend. I got a dance room in my house and it's there we can work on the moves and groove it with style!" Deco suggested. "Ooh I can't wait to visit your house!" Webby cheered. "Same!" B.N.D added as he sipped his drink. "Settled it is then! We practice at Deco's house on the weekend and then next Tuesday and Thursday, we can practice during out CCA and finally on the day of the event, we're ready to smooth it to groove it! Let's dew this!" Dewey declared as all cheered and had a toast with their drinks.
On Saturday...
"Nice room." Webby exclaimed as the group is in the dance room of Deco's house. "Thanks. The floor is smooth and I can execute my moves with ease!" He then did a headspin as all cheered for him. After he got on his 2 feet, "Okay, here's the plan. First, Dewey and I sit on the floor. Once the song starts playing, we start off with head movements followed by arm movements. We then stand up and do our 2 step dance moves moving left and right. After that, we do a backflip, pike and resume the 2 steps." Webby explained.
"After that, Deco and B.N.D will moonwalk their way in all the way to the far ends of the stage and do the pike."
"Hold it right there. I don't know how to do the moonwalk." B.N.D brought up. "Yeah me too. Not to mention Dewey's one of the few people in the club that can execute that move perfectly and precisely." Deco added. "Then I'll teach you." Dewey stated. "It's easy as pie and all you got to dew is get the movements right and shuffle with accuracy."
"Right. So before we practice the sequence, my boyfriend will teach you guys the moonwalk." Webby stated in agreement as she continued on. "Once we're in position, all 4 of us will dance and step around and after that, you 2 will get on one knee and then, Dewey and I will take a step and we'll do a backflip landing on our hands as we transit to the pike and we'll resume the stepping. After that, we do the 2000 move in which we do the spinning handstand followed by the windmill and then, transit to the backspin and finally, we do the headspin and as the song reaching the end, we get on our feet, gather together and pose for the finish!" Webby concluded the dance sequence as, "Any questions?"
"No questions. I'm clear with the sequence." Deco replied.
"Same. Still, the moonwalk is all we need to practice on." said B.N.D "Can we get started right away?"
"Alright! Let's dew this!" Dewey then got his friends to practice on the moonwalk as he began with his demonstration. While the lesson is ongoing, Webby took out her phone and watched the video about the breakdance scene she saw in the movie for a better perspective.
Half an hour later, "Break time." Dewey announced. "No dude it's lunch time." Deco corrected as he grabbed his phone and ordered pizza. "Both his parents are at work and the weekends is his opportunity to order takeaway." B.N.D stated as Deco finished the ordering and, "Alright, I got some soda in the fridge. Anyone want some refreshing?" All raised their hands as Deco went to the kitchen. A few minutes later, he brought out 4 cups and a bottle of coke and a bowl of ice with a pair of tongs. "Help yourselves."
"Thanks!" Dewey placed 3 ice cubes in his cup and poured out the drink into it. As they drank, "I thought of something. What song should be use for our breakdance?" Deco asked. "Make it a rap song." Dewey suggested. "And I've got just the perfect song for it." Webby showed the boys a music video. "This was also played in that movie scene."
"And I find it so catchy and tricky!" B.N.D placed his cup on the table and did some dance moves feeling the flow and rhythm from the rap. Then, the doorbell rang as Deco went to answer it. Second later, he showed up with 2 boxes of large pizza. "And I paid online already for the order."
"Smooth!" Dewey cheered as he helped Deco with the pizza as the boxes are set on the dining table and opened up revealing pepperoni and Hawaiian. All sat down together and ate their lunch. During their feasting, "Come to think of it, where will the event take place?" Deco asked as he ate a Hawaiian slice. "I managed to read a bit. Should be at the Duckburg Megamall on the first level. I bet they'll set up the area for the event." said B.N.D as he drank some coke and filled his cup again. "And something tells me many hip-hop groups would either attend or perform in the event. Who knows that our club may have ideas to drop by." said Webby as she ate up her pepperoni pizza and took another. "Chances will be high and it'll be surprising once they noticed us on stage." said Dewey. "Oh yeah. This is gonna be fun and it'll only be if we practice hard and master the sequence." said B.N.D. "Agreed. Let's do it!" said Deco as all cheered and finished their lunch.
And so...
So through the weekdays after school, the 4 of them will drop by at Deco's house to practice their dance moves and work on the sequence. Also, depending on the homework, they'll do it first before practice. As of now, the other club members never knew of their agenda. Not even the Besties Clique since Dewey and Webby would often tell their siblings and friends that they'll just hang out or meet up with others for some important stuff. At least they understood.
On that day...
"Yo Ruddy Rhymez It All. Why are we at tha mall?"
"Tiny Tommy Bombs It, we're here to see a breakdance competition! A fundraising event to fight against drugs and help those who got carried away with this powdered stuff or sort."
It seems the clique has heard of the competition and decided to see it. All the members are there and they consist of Ruddy Rhymes It All who's the leader of the clique and a graduating student, Tiny Tommy Bombs It who's the second-in-command aka main lieutenant and also a graduating student. The other members present with the other 2 are Alpha Wulf, Blitz Wing, Demel Trukk, V-Torn, DJ Midas T, Trouble Time, DJ Bass Sultan, Ramp, Pinaki, Tony Sync, Morgan, Lucas, Johnny Stepup, MC KG, Rico Mendt, Taek Indow, Kang Hyo-Sun, Checkmate, JC, CJ, Heavy S, Joycelyn, Mecha Dawg, H-Bom, Jasper, DJ Suzuki, MC Diamond K, Rin, Yuko, Kana, Toru, Taku and Shinji.
"And that's all tha clique members." Tiny Tommy Bombs It for he's checking the name list and most of the members go by their own signature stage names.
At the same time, "Heh. Never thought an event will take place at the mall." Louie stated. "This wasn't the first time. Last time an event took place, it's the reason why I got my driving license and ride." said Lena. "Hey...where's Dewey and Webby?" Angelo asked. "I heard they went to do some adventuring. Sheesh, been a while since the family does that." said Huey. "At least they told me that they can't make it so yeah, I got 24 tickets for us to watch the breakdance." Louie then took them out and handed each clique member one. "Alright, the event starts around 10. So let's just chill around the mall while waiting." Huey suggested as all agreed and went their way.
So later on, the crowd is becoming bigger as many gathered before the stage including the 2 school cliques. Behind, several groups of breakdancers are waiting as they stretched, practiced their moves or chill.
Now Dewey, Webby, Deco and B.N.D are seen at the back still wearing their signature attires as Dewey admired his letterman jacket. "You know what to do right?" Webby asked. "Yeah, yeah. You 2 make your move, me and Deco will then make our move and finally, the 4 of us groove it to the beat of the rap all the way!" B.N.D replied. "Good. We're ready and we'll be waiting." said Dewey.
At the event...
Many had gathered to see breakdancing as the host who's a crocodile entered the stage. "Hey, hey, hey! Name's Slick and I see you all here for tha grooves and moves!" He began as all cheered. "Oh yeah! We're gonna rock and dance to help out in the fight against drugs and shit. This is why the event is named, "Drugs Are Not Cool Ever!"
All cheered louder as the host continued on. "Okay! We got several groups ready to dance off hip hop style! I got 3 judges seated over there and they'll give the overall results!" He pointed at the judges seated in the front of the crowd. "And finally, the group that wins will get the grand prize! I think y'all know already because it's on tha ads yo!"
All cheered some more as, "Grand prize is tickets to Universal Studios Duckburg." said Park. "Most of the chaps say it's the best amusement park ever." said Vickson and back onstage, "And now, let's groove it!" Slick announced and the event is on!
And it begins...
First, 5 teenaged girls went onstage and danced to the K-Pop song, "Nobody" and during their performance, they slapped their asses in front of the crowd as some of the dudes whistled in excitement. And then, they twerk during their dance in some scenes. "Dudes. I think they've been practicing in the strip club." Duncan joked as some of the guys snickered over it while, "Yo Mecha Dawg, this ain't breakdancing! This is some bullshit dancing that some chicks do in nightclubs!" H-Bom told his friend. "Yeah...I'm gonna wash my eyes with bleach if I see them twerk again." Mecha Dawg replied as the performance ended with some applause.
Second, a trio of pelicans did the robot while some 8-bit jam was played throughout their performance. They also moonwalked a bit while moving their arms around robotically. "Did you know that most nerds do the robot as their only dance move?" Melvin chat with Huey. "No, but why?" He asked. "Easiest dance move to learn." He replied as they laughed.
Third, another 5 teenaged girls went onstage and danced to the K-Pop song, "Russian Roulette". They were more active and lively than the other 5 girls from their first performance as they danced, stepped around, twirled and executed various arm movements wowing the crowd. "Now that's my kind of K-Pop." said Lana. "You said it!" Luna agreed as they hi-5 each other.
The event went on as 6 more groups displaying their breakdancing from various stunts, powermoves and sleek movements and with their soundtracks playing pop songs and rap songs. One group even used Reggaeton music in their performance. "Wow! This breakdancing is something!" said Kirby. "Yeah! Maybe I can learn a move or 2 and apply in Muay Thai who knows?" said Ricardo as he and Kirby fist bump.
Meanwhile at the back, "We're next." said Deco. "And I think I got butterflies in my stomach. Hope I can burp them all out." said Webby jokingly. "Alright, this is the moment we've been waiting for.
After that, "Woooooo! I've never been so excited to see all the dance groups give it their all!" Slick stated. "Alright! The final group in which all 4 of them are from Duckburg High, let's give them a round of applause!"
Everyone applauded but, "Whoa! Did he just say 4 students from out school are participatin?!" Ruddy Rhymez It All asked as the members all murmured about it. At the same time, "Interesting. Representatives huh?" Louie exclaimed. "This I gotta see."
Now onstage, they appeared. "Dewey? Webby?" a surprised Gosalyn thought and it spreads to the rest and even the club noticed them. "Hey, isn't that the blue dude and pink chick from our posse?" Rudy Rhymez It All asked. "Hell yeah." Tiny Tommy Bombs It replied. "Whoa...looks like they're gonna groove it!"
The performance begins...
It started with the rap song, "It's Tricky" being played as Dewey and Webby looked up, faced the audience, nodded their heads once, got on their knees facing the audience and as the rhythm in the rap song flows, they did a handstand and spun for a few seconds until they got on their feet surprising the crowd!
All watched as they did their 2 steps dance moves stepping and dancing to the left and right for several seconds. After that, they faced each other and did a backflip followed by stepping back a bit while dancing and then, a front flip until they landed near each other and posed with their backs on each other making everyone cheer for them. "Look at them dance!" Jennifer exclaimed as she started recording the performance.
After that, Deco and B.N.D made their move as they moonwalked their way in from both ends of the stage, past Dewey and Webby and each other until they stopped. "Dudes! I never knew Deco and B.N.D can do the moonwalk!" The vulture second year studnet and rapper, V-Tron exclaimed as right now, B.N.D is beside Dewey and Deco is beside Webby and with that, the bluejay and the bat made their move doing a pike and after that, the 4 breakdancers did the 6 step breakdance move for several seconds as the crowd cheered some more and after that, Deco and B.N.D got ready as they bend down with their hands cupped as Dewey and Webby ran to their peers, grabbed onto their shoulders, used their footwork to step on their cupped hands and finally, a push up from their hands while standing up sent Dewey and Webby up high as they did a spinning backflip and they landed on their hands and did and airchai as the crowd went wild and excited over their moves especially the Hip-Hop and Besties cliques. After that, they got on their feet as the 4 breakdancers continued dancing around with their footwork.
Several seconds later, they got onto the ground and did the NY flare breakdance move for several seconds until they transit to the virgin flare move. Several seconds later, they did the ninja, freeze for a second and stood up as the crowd cheered on and it got even louder when the 4 breakdancers moved to the windmill. As it goes on, "I...I...I can't believe they're using so many powermove variations!" Violet exclaimed. "No wonder you borrowed the book from the library." said Huey as it appears that Violet is holding onto a book titled, "Powermoves for Dummies." Then, "Whoa! Russell sees them spin on their heads!"
So true as onstage, headspins are ongoing as the crowd was wowed by their usage of powermoves in quality and quantity and finally, they stood up on their feet and finished their breakdance with a J-Step Gainer followed by a Webster to a backhand spring and a roundoff backflip and it ends with the 4 breakdancers with their hands on the ground and with their legs lifted out and upright without touching the ground as they posed.
The performance ends...
Everyone was speechless from their breakdance. Even the other groups that competed in the event. Then suddenly, Ruddy Rhymez It All started clapping his hands. Tiny Tommy Bombs It joined in and then one by one, the members of the Hip-Hops Clique and then, the Besties and finally, the enitre audience clapped and cheered wildly. Even the judges joined in as the 4 breakdancers took a bow and walked out of the stage.
Once they left, "I can't believe we pulled off all the powermoves!" B.N.D spoke up. "I thought I may make a mistake but wow! I never backed down or flinch at all!" said Deco . "Nervous I feel but thrilling is the dance!" Webby cheered. "And we all dew it with style!" Dewey concluded when, "Hey you're the guys with the badass powermoves!" From behind, the other competitors showed up as, "You were awesome!" a female cat breakdancer exclaimed. "Your moves are dope! And rad!" A black bear breakdancer described as all the groups started socializing.
A few minutes later...
"Break time's over! Results are out!" Slick announced as all looked at him and already, all 10 groups of breakdancers are on stage behind him. "Third place goes to Team Bombshells! Russian Roulette is the reason why I feel like gambling! LOL!" He then took out 5 gift vouchers worth 200 bucks each and handed each one to the girls as they cheered together.
"Second place goes to Team Amigos! Raegetton music sure is catchy in my ears and in their breakdance!" Slick then took out 4 gift vouchers worth 500 bucks each and handed them to the group consisting of 2 boys and 2 girls.
"And finally, first place goes to...

"TEAM DUCKBURG HIGH! Unique power moves and stunts has really surprised my eyes! Oh man! This has hyped me up!" Slick then took out 4 USD tickets and handed it to Dewey, Webby, Deco and B.N.D each as everyone cheered for them. "Lucky assholes." Duncan mumbled. "They get to have the fun at the best theme park ever!" Still, he's happy for them as, "We taught them do we?" Tiny Tommy Bombs It asked his leader. "Aw hell yeah! They learn fast and new! I always expect the clique members to follow their example." Ruddy Rhymez It All replied as they fist bump.
After the event...
"Woo-hoo!" Dewey, Webby, Deco and B.N.D cheered together as they danced around a bit in celebration when, "Dewey!" Huey called out for him as he, Louie and the remaining clique members went to see the group. "I never expected you guys to surprise us." said Gosalyn. "And I never expected a large group of friends that they have." said Deco. "Speaking of which, it'll be fun for breakdancers like you 2 to be part of the Besties Clique which I run." said Louie. "Interested?"
"You'll love it once you guys are part of it." Webby encouraged. "Say no more for I shall seize the opportunity to join the best school clique ever!" B.N.D declared. "Sure. Dewey and Webby did tell us stories about this clique. Now this I gotta join." said Deco.
"Perfect! And first thing to do with our 2 new members is lunch together!" Louie declared. "And to celebrate their win in the breakdance event!" Lena added as all cheered and headed to the food court.
Ugh...it's so hard to find a job in the midst of COVID! Annoying if you ask me!
No wonder I nearly forget the story...and my wits took over as I got serious with the story now! Not to mention I recently got hyped for this month as new episodes from season 3 will air soon. Wow, what just happened?
Never mind, I need to get serious with the story and at the same time, keep job hunting so that I can provide. Speaking of which, I'll be providing you all the next chapter soon! Woo-hoo!
