redQ11: I know, she's really having a bad time isn't she?
…
"What the hell..." I struggled to breathe, feeling the wall knock the wind out of my lungs. The was felt cold against my shoulders as I slid down to the ground. I felt the fire in my stomach burning and raging, and I could feel my eyes glowing red.
The girl standing above me snickered, "Oh how you scare me little Miss Feisty." She mocked, "If you use your magic on me again, I doubt it'll be able to save you from me."
It was hard to breathe, but I stood, "You don't..." I hissed at the pain in my stomach, "You don't scare me. I've seen…worse."
She rolled her eyes at me, "I am worse." Her hand locked around my throat and she lifted me into the air, "Much worse."
I let my hands drop to my sides and use my Air Magic to push myself up and out of her grasp landing only a few metres away. "Niko, we've got to stop doing this."
This girl hates me, and I'm not her biggest fan either but she's trying to hurt me. We're fighting behind a building, not too far from Haruhi's. This morning was a disaster from the moment I walked out of the house. But this is terrifying.
"I'm not your friend." She scoffs, placing her hand over her red crystal necklace, before removing it bringing out her red and gold spear, "So I won't show mercy."
I glared at her, looking at the opening from where we came from. People are only moments away, and if we got too loud then someone is going to see us. "At least for Haruhi."
"I suppose it's a good thing I like her," She taunts, "Otherwise you'd be dead, kid." She went to put her hand over necklace, but we both got interrupted.
Tires screeching, horns honking and people screaming.
We turned to one another, with a small panicked look in our eyes. "Can we do this later?"
"Sure, I'll kick your ass later."
...
Georgia/Artemis Third Person.
...
She watched as Niko took off, transforming herself in the process. That girl was fast, running in suck a way that all out could see was blur of red and black.
Artemis transformed, flittering her wings and going after the girl too. "What the hell..." She whispered as she surveyed the scene.
It was a horror scene. An overpass piled in with cars, smoke everywhere cars hanging off the bridge, dangling dangerously.
She watched as Niko ran straight up the side of the structure, flipping her way over and making it up there.
...
"Everybody! Move!" The girl with red hair shouts, ushering people off to the back of the road. The ground beneath her feet began to rumble, "Move it! Now!"
A high-pitched scream caught her attention, a child crying out. She was there within a second, finding a small girl trapped in a car. With little effort, the door went flying into the water, "Here!" She outstretched her hand, with her spear attached to her back. "Let's go."
The bridge started to crumble beneath her feet as she started to sprint. Until it didn't.
The red-haired girl looked over her shoulder, seeing her so called 'partner' flying next to the bridge, glowing orange and green.
She placed the kid into the screaming mothers' arms and ushered her to run the other way.
...
Atermis' eyes glowed with flashes of brown and green as vines began to wrap their way around the road, stopping cars from causing even more damage to the river below it.
She breathed slowly, making sure to concentrate, as the bridge kept crumbling, on both ends. Something felt wrong to her, this couldn't just be an accident. Something caused this, and it may not be human error.
Atermis knew she had to keep this up so Niko could ran back and forth helping people out of their cars and making them move further back, away from the crumbling edge. She sped to the edge and leaped to the other side, continuing to do the same
"Someone else is here!" She heard Niko's voice enter her head, warning the fairy.
The girl blinked, surprised to hear the girl, but she felt it too. Something fairly familiar. Then it hit her...Literally.
She found herself falling, being pushed down into the water below the bridge. A small amount of water entered her lungs, but that was quickly fixed with the use of her water magic. The water lifted her into the air, and she quickly used her air magic to dry off her wings.
Her hair was dripping in front of her face, and she was mad. She shot the water straight to where it came from. It froze, before getting melted away.
Artemis gasped as the steam cleared and two figures appeared. "No..." She whispered, flying upward, shooting more water at him. And just as easily, it disappears.
"Nice to see you too." Blayze smirks looking down at her, with the second person appearing behind him.
A gasp escaped lips, "Is that...?" She panicked, seeing the girl throw a bolt of lightning at her, which she easily dodged.
Quickly, she caught the lighting in a cloud, and shoots it back at the girl, who just caught it in her hands, very easily, unphased. It just seemed to feed her energy.
She panicked as Blayze laughed at her, "Yep. She's had a few new upgrades."
...
"Ellie! Snap out of it!" I screamed, catching as much lighting as I could. She started firing off lighting at both me and people.
I can't let any of this touch the water, because people are dumb and decided they needed a closer look with boats. I managed to throw the lightning back at her, which she caught easily.
From the corner of my eye I watched as Blayze flew under the bridge, and out of sight. "Shit..." I whisper to myself, as I continued to catch lightning and protect everyone around here. I tried to keep her attention, moving her further away from the bridge, but she just only seemed interested in that bridge, turning away from me as I moved further away.
I watched as she fired two bolts of electricity straight into the sides of the bridge, electrifying each of the sides of the bridge, becoming a hazard for anyone who would touch it.
"DON'T TOUCH THE RAILINGS!" My voice echoes across the bridge to those on it who start to stand in the middle.
Ellie tilted her head lightly, before launching more at the people.
I flew in front of it as fast as I could, sucking in the electricity within my body. I gasped in paint, feeling it mess with my body. This isn't my magic, so my body is rejecting it. It was forced out of my body, and I shot them back at her.
She caught it without a problem.
I stood there, panting waiting for her next move. But she just froze. But I wasn't sure why.
I used this moment pull some of the rubble from the water, raising it behind her, and drag my hand to my chest, sending it crashing into her back, bringing her close to me. The debris I pulled from the water started to wrap itself around her, encasing the girl, rendering her immobile.
The bridge on the other side began to crumble, and my heart dropped. I could see that there were till people on it, all panicking and trying to stay steady with the bridge collapsing. The metal beams which decorated the side of the bridge became loose, falling towards the bridge. I noticed that Niko speeding in, catching the beam from falling, saving a family who were stuck within a car.
In a moment of panic, I reach out my right hand with my eyes glowing light blue, ice pouring out from where I stepped. It raced down into the water below and created a structure, holding up the other side of the bridge.
It was physically exhausting keeping both Ellie and the bridge in place. The stress washed over me, and I couldn't keep it all going. I felt the girl encased in rocks start trying to blast her way out, and with every crack in the rock, had to be recovered over and over again.
I heard Niko cry out in pain, before Blayze's voice called out over the water, "You might want to stop, Princess." He taunted, catching my attention, but not enough to break it, "Or your friend here might just turn to ash."
Niko was standing strong, but only just as flames surrounded hr, burning her skin. "Red!" I shouted, growling at Blayze.
"So, what's it going to be. Letting my worker go? Letting your toy burn, or letting the bridge collapse into the ocean killing people?"
He was right. I had to choose right now. If I started using more magic right now, I'd lose my hold on Ellie or the bridge and neither would work. I growled, launching myself into the air letting go of my spell to hold Ellie, but keeping the one holding the bridge up. My shield came up as I landed, protecting the girl from Blayze.
"What are you doing!?" She hissed through clenched teeth feeling the, strain of the fire lift off her skin. She found the strength to throw the pole off to the side.
Blayze stopped his spell, "Weak choice. But predictable." He grabbed the amulet from around his neck, and looked at it, "Well, it seems I'm out of time."
I dropped my shield, and flew up there as fast as I could, with water flying behind me to aid in my attack. Niko jumped beside me, spear at the ready to strike down Ellie.
But in a flash of blue, they were gone. I paused in the air, freezing the water to give Niko a platform to stand on. "Fuck. We missed them!" She said slicing a chunk of ice off angrily and watching it fall into the water. "Why did you save me? I had it under control!"
She jumped with ease onto the bridge which was still barely holding together, "You're welcome!?" I yell down to her as she runs continuing to move any stragglers off the bridge.
Meanwhile, I get to work rebuilding a stable bridge. The pieces that fell rose back from in the water, placing themselves back together like a puzzle. My earth and fire enchantments sealed them together, stronger than ever and I made sure to re layer everything.
I ended up flying after Niko, finding her down that alley way that we were originally. "Why are you following me?!" She snapped noticing that I was there. Her spear was pointed straight at me, "You should always finish your mission."
My eyes rolled at her, "Seriously? I just saved your life!"
"I didn't need saving!" She snaps at me.
I put up a wall of darkness, hiding my de-transformation, "I'm not even going to fight you on this one. It's stupid."
She de-transformed too. "Yeah. You made a stupid decision. Why the hell did you even try?!"
I shrugged my shoulders, "I dunno? Because we're friends? Sorta?"
"Not even close kid."
This girl is frustrating, "What about Haruhi?!"
"What about her?" she asks, crossing her hands in front of her chest.
I shook my head, before rubbing my temple, "You seems to like her."
"I need to protect her."
That answer took me by surprise. "What? Why?"
Sh shook her head, "It's none of your business." The she pushed past me and began walking in the direction of the school.
I followed her but neither of us chose to talk. But why would she want to protect Haruhi? Did Haruhi save her life or something? But that couldn't be, whilst I think Haruhi is more than capable of saving someone's life, I just don't think she saved Niko.
Maybe I could just try to read her thoughts. If we try hard enough, maybe we can get through.
I heard her huff, with a small smirk on her face as I began to link to her mind. The magic bond that we shared was enough to get me there...or so I thought.
I felt repelled and burnt the further I went in, which made me get out as quickly as possible. I groan, placing a hand to my head. "What the hell?"
"That's never going to work kid. I thought you knew better."
I growl, balling my fist, but then stop myself. She would kick my butt if I tried to fight her like this.
...
Once we finally made it to the host room, a few minutes late due to unforeseen magical circumstances, there was quite a scene.
"What's with the roses?" Niko asked genuinely confused.
Girls were screaming and wailing at whatever was going on.
"Oh, thank god you two are here." The twins come up to us, "You need to stop this!"
They showed us the scene. It was Ritsu, Tamaki and Haruhi all sitting on the couch together, but Tamaki was...well for a lack of a better word, strange. He was almost robotic like.
"Why," Niko leant up against the wall, "This is hilarious. Are you boys jealous?"
The two looked at one another before looking at me, and Niko, both shouting 'No' simultaneously. The girl smirked at them, but I saw Hikaru stare at me, before turning to look out there.
Why is Hikaru so worried? Does he still kinda of like Haruhi? Well, that's good for him...I guess.
The boys groaned in frustration, calling the blonde from across the room, "Earth to boss! Will you snap out of it already!? The longer you sit there lie an idiom playing robot, the worse the situation becomes for all of us."
I could faintly hear a 'mah' coming from the other end of the phone.
"Now, listen to me carefully! You can't let this happen! If she and that two-bit thug hit it off, she's going to spend her life as a mob wife!"
"MA!" I could hear Tamaki shout from across the room. I think we all looked at Tamaki as he jumped up, "WHAT? NO WAY!" He screamed, pointing at Ritsu, "DADDY WON'T STAND FOR IT!"
I could see Haruhi sigh, "Please don't do this..." I hear her voice echo in my head. The girl besides me seemed to let out a small huff of a laugh.
"Bossanova! Just what do you think you're trying to do here!? You've established a bond with your henchmen didn't you!? Why aren't you with them right now!?
The twins were loving it, cheering him on from the side, "You tell him sir! Yeah!"
I began to zone out as I watched Hikaru cheer for Tamaki coming to Haruhi's 'rescue'. Why? Ritsu isn't doing anything bad, and if anything, he kinda likes the girl. But...does Hikaru too? It explains why he's so happy to see the boss stop whatever is going on.
But then again, Tamaki likes her too? Is the only difference that Tamaki is too blind to see it? I can sometimes see the way he looks at her.
Hold on, why am I thinking this way? It's none of my business who he likes, and he has no reason to tell me. We're friends, and we're gaining a stronger friendship every day. And no, before you ask, I don't feel for Hikaru that way. There's no way that I could! Not after everything he put me through...or I guess he wouldn't like me after what I put him through.
My hand wraps around my necklace. At least he got it back for me.
"Georgia!" His voice called through my ears and I snapped out of it. He was right in front of me, staring deeply into my eyes, concern written all over them, "Are you ok?"
I blinked for a moment, before tucking my loose hair behind my ear, "yeah," I breath, "I'm ok."
There was a flash in his eye, and I could easily tell that he didn't believe me. "We need your help."
I tilt my head to the side and look behind him and Tamaki sprawled out on the floor.
"If, supposing I'm not Haruhi's daddy after all..." The blonde whispered.
Hikaru rolled his eyes, "You don't have to suppose it boss."
"Then, how can it be that I find her so utterly adorable?"
Everyone around Tamaki froze. We all knew what that meant, is he actually working it out for himself? But the twins look terrified. "What are you talking about?" Kaoru mutters, looking at the boy on the ground.
"When she's with another man, why is it that i become so insanely jealous?" Tamaki was mortified, "I'm not her father, I have no rights to be so protective, no rights whatsoever."
I decided to push him just to really see the extent on the dumbness possessed by this boy, "So then uh, tell me what exactly is with the whole making Haruhi your wife one day thing?"
"I know! Daddies don't typically want to marry their little girls when they're all grown up do, they..." He trailed off, looking into the distance.
Kaoru's eyebrows rose, "What about keeping her from kissing anyone?"
"I only wanted to preserve those precious lips." There was as no change in his eyes.
Niko laughed, "Holy shit he's dumb."
"Preserve, really?" The younger twin looked directly at Tamaki k to the ground, "That's a very interesting choice of words, sir. You think everything is absolutely perfect just the way it is now having this family setting will keep it all from changing, right?"
Everyone turned to the boy who just spoke so poetically, yet so sadly. "What was that?" I asked him.
Sheepishly he turns around to me with a pumpkin in hand, "Oh nothing, just a little theory i have which I'm probably completely wrong about."
His brother and I looked at one another suspiciously.
"Naturally, he's got a point," Kyoya addresses, pushing glasses up his nose, "I mean you're delusional, yes. Any halfwit could see that but who knew that you were so."
"Tama-chan is completely blind when it comes to himself!"
The blonde on the ground sat up quickly, chuckling to himself, "Did you hear that gentlemen? Apparently in some ways I'm like Haruhi's father."
Well to be more precises, I think she means while you and her father share some personality traits, in actuality
"I'm like a father figure to her!"
And we've lost him yet again
...
Niko watched the younger twin curiously, thinking back to the Halloween chapter. She saw what Kaoru was thinking. His whole family thing was coming back to haunt him.
But at the moment, that's not the part that kept her attention. She leant back against the wall with her eyes shut, listening in to the conversation across the room. The smirk on her face could tell you that something was coming, and it was going to be mighty amusing.
"Fujioka," The red head spoke, "Do you think that we could be able to do this more often?"
"There's no way..." She noted Georgia's voice in her head as she also stared at the sight before them.
Niko knew how this would look. She knew that boy better than she cared to admit. And she could tell that he liked Haruhi. But, you know, Haruhi is a guy technically, and so is this boy. And the reaction that was already arising from this 'romance' was way too entertaining.
"Because I was just thinking, since you entertain girls all day long, it might kind of give you break from all that." She heard the boy from across the room, and she could hear his hear racing from here. And honestly, it's not like she needed the magic. "You know, if I came around."
"Oh, that poor boy." She heard that girls voice enters her head again.
Niko rolled her eyes, "Bloody hell, shut up." She snapped at Georgia, "Just watch."
"Get out of my head. If I can't see what you're thinking, don't see mine."
The red-haired girl just chuckled, earning a glare from the girl beside her.
"I mean, If you want that, that is..."
"Absolutely, that way you and I can get more acquainted..."
Here it comes
"Fujioka, I..." He stumbles over his words, "I just wanted to tell you...I just wanted to tell you...that I'm."
"That you're excited to have someone you can relate to, aren't you?" The entire room fell silent, everyone was shocked with the response that was just given. "I sure know I am, a conversation like this is a rare thing for me, we're going to be great friends."
...
Georgia, P.O.V
...
Even I was in shock. I can't believe that just happened.
I watched Niko's expression change, from a slightly smirked face to one that just broke. She smiled so widely, before collapsing to the floor, holding her stomach.
The roaring of laughter from the girl could almost fill the room. I noticed the boy take a glance at Niko on the floor, and his ears began to glow red. "Of course, the two of us are gonna be friends." His eyes did not match the words that came out of his mouth, "Best friends! Forever!"
Mumming voices began to fill the room, almost to the point of it being louder than Niko's laughter.
Everyone's hearts seemed to drop, seeming to feel the second-hand pain from the scene in front of the scene in front.
Then everyone began to gush over him, running towards the boy with tears in their eyes, whilst simultaneously screaming "Kasanoda!" They all started screaming, running to the boy and started screaming about how they all want to be friends.
Everyone, except for Niko and I that is.
"What a dick head," She muttered, calming down sitting upright, "Nothing ever changes."
I blinked a few times, "You know Ritsu?" Is this something about her past that I'm just finding out? Am I actually making progress here?
"I don't know him." She says with a straight face, before her eyes sweep over to the boy with the red hair.
It was something about that which made me feel like she was lying. Actually, I know she's lying.
But when is she ever going to tell the truth? That's not really something I can exactly answer now, can I?
