While Brax had taken Kyle to a counselling session with Beckie, Casey and Denny offered to look after Lillie for them and took her down on the beach, Bianca and Heath following closely behind with Harley. Despite many searches in and around Summer Bay, Jasmine hadn't been found. They thought she may have gone on the run, but weren't taken any chances that she could have stayed close.
"I can imagine us doing this one day." Casey smiles.
"I can't wait for the day we have our own family." Denny agrees. "It's going to be amazing."
"Do you recon it will be a daughter first, like the others keep joking about?" Casey says.
"Well it is a half chance." Denny laughs. "Do you recon we'd finish travelling first or put that on hold a bit longer?"
"I'm sure sure, I think we'd just have to see where life takes us. I'd like to stay here for a while, just until things are fully back to normal. What do you recon would happen first, travelling or kids?"
"I'm not bothered either way, as long as we're together forever."
"Which we will be." Casey says, leaning down to kiss her. "I love you."
"I love you more."
"Is that so?" Casey asks.
"Oi lovebirds!" Heath shouts over to them.
"What?" Casey asks.
"We're going to Angelo's for lunch, come on." He says, gesturing him over.
"As long as he's paying." Casey shrugs as they walk over to them.
"You know he'll use the excuse of being the owners brother." Denny laughs. "That's what he's said to the waitresses when he's gone in and I've been working."
"Sounds about right." Casey laughs as they join the married couple.
"What does?" Heath asks.
"You taking advantage of Brax owning Angelo's just to get free food." Casey smirks.
"Like you don't." Heath mutters as they walk inside the Surf Club.
"I was almost surprised when another session was booked in so soon, and by your brother. Could you tell me why that is?" Beckie asks.
"Jasmine, the person responsible for taking Lillie from me months ago, escaped from police custody when they were transferring her. Police have got units out everywhere looking for her… They think she's going to come for Lillie again." Kyle mutters.
"And what do you think?" Beckie asks.
"When I went to see her at the station to get her to confess to the police, she said I was only looking after Lillie until they were released… That they would come back for Lillie and continue their lives with her. She called her Lillie Shaw… That's not her name, it's Lillie Braxton." Kyle firmly says, bouncing his knee anxiously.
"The police know what they're doing, they'll find her." Beckie says.
"People said the same thing when they first took Lillie… Lillie wasn't found for months, and that was only after Heath set up another search. I wouldn't have got her back if he didn't do that."
"But you did get Lillie back. It's important to remember all the good that has happened throughout the months, the key being you getting your daughter back. You know Jasmine is somewhere out there, whether she's close to Summer Bay or not, you are more aware of her capabilities now. Don't let this come between the bond you are getting back with your daughter, use it to your advantage." Beckie says.
"How do I do that?" Kyle asks.
"I know you will want to do everything in your power to keep Lillie safe from her, so use this to watch over Lillie, get your bond back." Beckie says. "Midwives tell new parents that skin to skin contact is beneficial in many ways. You said Lillie never settles for you, so skin to skin contact can help Lillie to feel safe and secure in your hold again. Is she still not settling when you hold her?" She asks.
"She isn't as bad as when I first got her back but sometimes she still cries a lot." Kyle replies.
"Well that's an improvement on it being all the time." Beckie lightly smiles. "How is everything else going?"
"Well." Kyle nods. "We all go down to the beach with the kids a lot and I don't feel the need to be constantly on look out all the time. I also let Casey and Denny babysit her a lot when I need some time to myself and they love helping out."
"They're the ones who were travelling for the first few months of Lillie's life?" Beckie asks.
"Yeah, and you can tell." Kyle lightly scoffs. "Casey makes up for it as much as he can and I'm not complaining. Although the only thing he refuses to do is change Lillie's nappy when she soils it."
"Ah yes, the pleasantries of a young baby." Beckie smiles.
"At least they're not as often as they were when she was little. It's all going to be worth it in the end, I know it will." Kyle smiles.
"You've got a good head on your shoulders, it's just bringing the good thoughts to the front." Beckie says.
"I've not got many bad ones to get rid of now." Kyle says. "I haven't had any of those thoughts since finding out Jasmine escaped, I've been following the techniques I was taught at the clinic. They don't always work at first, but it helps having Bruno. When the cops came and said Jasmine could come back, I was so scared of relapsing again… I don't want to go back there."
"You won't, you're much stronger than that now. The fact that you are using the techniques, despite them not working straight away, proves you are willing to keep trying. Resilience is key, and you've got that now. This is why I love my job, seeing people progress so far in their recoveries."
"Well you're good at what you do, so I imagine you get a lot of people recovering well." Kyle says.
"Is that you hinting that you're ready for the session to end early?" She asks.
"Maybe." Kyle lightly shrugs with a smile. "I feel better now and ready to face whatever the police say."
"Well I guess we can finish early then. And I'm sure there will be good news, especially since you said there's a lot of police looking for her." Beckie says as they stand up. "We've said many times this is our session, so I'll save it. Remember to book in another session whenever you need it."
"I will, thank you." Kyle smiles as he walks out over to his brother and dog. "Hey Bruno." He says, petting him.
"How'd it go?" Brax asks, handing Bruno's lead over to him.
"I needed it." Kyle nods.
"You're out a lot earlier than I was expecting." Brax says as they head towards the entrance to the car park.
"Yeah, went better than I thought. Do you recon the police will find her this time?" Kyle asks.
"Yeah, I'm sure they will. You've seen the amount of cops out patrolling and now they've brought more 'specialist' cops in. And there's no way she'll get near Lillie, Heath texted and said more cops were watching the house when they got back." Brax says.
"Is that a good thing though?" Kyle asks as they stop next to the ute.
"Well, not for us. I think they're doing it for an ulterior motive and using this as an excuse. Guess we'll find out when they get Jasmine." Brax says.
"How?"
"If they continue watching us once she's jailed, we'll know it was just for us. Which ain't surprising really. If it wasn't for keeping you and Lillie safe, I would've told them to run along by now." Brax says as he opens the drivers door, Bruno jumping up on the seat. "And for them to take that dog with them." He moans, Kyle merely laughing as he walks round to the passengers side, sitting Bruno between his feet as Brax gets in, driving off down the road.
