Asha went to see Rodrik Harlaw, her mother's brother.

"This dream of kingship is a madness in our blood," Uncle Rodrik said. "I told your father so the first time he rose, and it is truer now than it was then. It's land we need, not crowns. With Stannis Baratheon and Tywin Lannister contending for the Iron Throne, we have a rare chance to improve our lot. Let us take one side or the other, help them to victory with our fleets, and claim the lands we need from a grateful king."

"That might be worth some thought, once I sit the Seastone Chair," said Asha.

Her uncle sighed. "You will not want to hear this, Asha, but you will not be chosen. No woman has ever ruled the ironborn."

"That's what Nuncle Aeron told me," said Asha, "but he also said that he thinks Euron came back to Pyke and killed my father. Do you buy that?"

"Well, I don't know," said Rodrik. "If he did, where is he hiding now?"

"Maybe he's under a rock," Asha cracked. They shared a laugh.

But then Rodrik turned serious again. "Asha, if you stay here, I shall name you the heir to the Ten Towers. How about that?"

"It's Father's seat I want, not yours. No, I'll sit the Seastone Chair."

"Then you are just another crow, screaming for carrion," Rodrik said.

Brian, Stewie, Dipper, Mabel, and Hodor had reached Castle Black. They went up to the office of Maester Aemon Targaryen, who was Daenerys's great-great-uncle. Steve, Gilly, Snot and Toshi were in there. They had come back too, and had just finished telling Aemon everything that had happened to them.

"Brian!" Aemon exclaimed in surprise. "Who are all these people?"

"This is Lord Peter Griffin's son Stewie," said Brian. "The guy carrying him is Hodor. He worked in the stables at Winterfell. These two twins are Dipper and Mabel Pines. They came here seeking refuge because Theon Greyjoy took over Winterfell."

"I heard about that," said Maester Aemon.

"Do you know what's going on at Winterfell now?" Stewie demanded as Hodor set him down on a chair.

"When Lord Griffin's bannermen threatened to retake the castle, Theon put it to the torch," said Aemon. "But I just received word that Lord Bolton's son captured Theon. He killed all the ironmen, and it's said he's flaying Theon Greyjoy inch by inch for what he did."

"Good," said Stewie.

"Anyway, we've got more important things to think about now," said Brian. "There's a huge army of wildlings coming! Where's the Old Bear?"

"Brian… it grieves me to say, but Lord Commander Mormont was murdered at Craster's Keep, at the hands of his sworn brothers."

"Our own guys?" Aemon's words hit Brian like a ton of bricks, especially coming right on the heels of learning of Peter's death. "Who was it? Who turned on him?"

"I was there," said Steve. "A bunch of guys were complaining that Craster wasn't giving them enough food. Then a guy named Bertram killed Craster, and when Mormont objected, Scott Tenorman killed him."

"Then Scott Tenorman must die!" Brian said.

"And then a bunch of other guys started killing all the men who remained loyal to Mormont," Snot put in. "Trent Boyett, Terrance Mephisto, even Barry joined in. Steve, Toshi and I were the only ones who escaped alive."

"Also, I killed a White Walker," Steve said.

Mabel spoke up for the first time. "No kidding? How'd you manage that?"

"I used the knife that Brian lent me," said Steve. "I just brought it up to his chest and he disintegrated! It's made of dragonglass, right? How come we don't have more dragonglass blades?"

"So, who's gonna be in charge now?" Brian asked.

Maester Aemon looked at him. "I think that might be you, at least for the time being."

"Me?" Brian gulped.

"Don't worry, Brian," said Steve. "We'll give you all the help we can."
