Chapter 92-Part 7

"I can still send you to Annapolis." Tony threatened.

Gibbs glared at Tony as he hoisted himself out of the passenger seat of Tony's car. He now only had to make it down the sidewalk and up the couple of stairs to his house.

"You're going to regret saying that when I get back to work." Gibbs told him. "You should be with Ducky. He's still got a couple weeks to go before he can leave, right?"

Tony shook his head. "Nice try, Gibbs. But Ducky understands the whole doctor-patient thing. He is actually following orders. And, he's doing well with his physical therapy." He sighed. "This is just the beginning, Gibbs. I know your track records as a patient, remember?"

Gibbs just scowled as he made his way down the sidewalk.

"You're going to be able to go back to work, thanks to me. And all those people, my co-workers, that you gave a hard time." Tony told him. "You're very lucky we are not in the bygone days of medicine, Gibbs. Back then it would have been perfectly acceptable to dope you up and tie you to the bed." He retorted. "How happy would you have been then?"

Gibbs didn't speak, so Tony continued.

"We doctors don't prescribe these things to annoy you. Or to punish you. Physical therapy is to help get you mobile again." Tony said as he helped Gibbs up his stairs. "The body gets weak quickly when it becomes immobile, whatever the reason. Therapy builds it back up. And, the therapist is going to be here to make sure you do the exercises, first of all. To make sure you do them correctly, second of all. And lastly, to make sure you do them as often as required."

Gibbs started to grumble, so Tony continued.

"So…so, you can do them in the privacy of your own home as ordered and work with the therapist. Or, I can put you in the rehab for a few weeks and you'll work on their schedule." Tony stated. "And they will have access to you 24/7."

Gibbs gave Tony the hairy eyeball as DiNozzo opened the door.

"Patient Gibbs is going to be glad he listened to me and his therapist when Agent Gibbs is raising hell in the office in the next week or two." Tony said. "He's going to be very, very grateful for who got him back on his feet."

Gibbs cleared his throat and mumbled something under his breath.

"Let's just hope he remembers that when time comes."
