Feel free to listen to music if you so choose for this party!
Trouble at the Formal (New Year's Eve Party):
After Christmas, Brianna grew suspicious of her brother, due to the fact he kept quiet about what may have happened at Kendall's when he took her home. Although, she was going to find out no matter what, plus if nothing happened, the fact the formal was fast approaching, her New Year's resolution for the party was to get them together, like she did with Gunther and Jackie the year prior. Scarlet and Teena were all for it, given they wanted the two together as well.
With the formal starting, everyone was dressed for the occasion. Jackie had on her new dress that Kendall made for her which wasn't helping Gunther's thoughts any, as he wasn't expecting it to look the way it did, nor Jackie to just look as beautiful, not that she always wasn't, but the dress accented her curves and it was certainly making him go crazy on the inside, which Chris and Brianna teased him about. Brianna wore a similar color that she wore the year prior, given it had more purple gems this time, while Teena stuck to a bright pink and sparkly. Scarlet wore a deep, dark red, given that she thought going the obvious scarlet or red color would be dull and plain looking. Plus the fact it had some black and grey lace helped accent the dress as it fitted her body, like most of the girls' dresses did. Teena and Brianna some of the only few to wear long dresses amongst their group, given that there was a wide variety of dresses there at the formal.
The boys all wore black suits, each with their own color vest and tie. Gunther had a royal blue tie and light grey vest, which he liked, being that it matched Jackie's dress, not that others would really knew that, but their friend circle. But, he still enjoyed the fact. Mouth wore a pink tie similar to Brianna's dress, but had on a silver vest since he thought it might coordinate, which Brianna also thought worked well. Kick, as always wore a red tie, his vest a dark grey, since he liked the way it looked on him. He heard a few people think it matched Scarlet's dress, but looking at it, he also thought it might match Kendall's given she was wearing something that, like Gunther, had his mind racing. She was in a light pink dress, but it had a light rose red embroidered lace design, and silver rime stones that accented some of the design along her bust. It was low cut, and showed her back, and tightfitting, similar to Jackie's, however unlike Jackie's didn't have the off-the shoulder sleeve, as it just had a lace design crisscross along her shoulder blades. He liked to think, he was matching with her, which his sister teased him about.
The formal so far was going off without a hit. Everyone enjoying the snacks, dancing and party venue. The building was huge as it was four stories and the students had access to the roof and top level balconies, so that they could see the New Year's firework show. The first story was mainly for students to enter into, get registered and if they wanted to play card games, watch some of the concerts on TV, or play any other games they could do so down there. The second and third floor hosted the major dancing portion of the night, as there were TV's everywhere to connect the floors so students could see what was going on if they wanted or see if they wanted to go join the dancing, or games. The fourth floor was mainly for relaxing, not that there wasn't a little bit of dancing and music, however like the third floor, it had quite a few private rooms, which some students tried to take advantage of. And finally there was the roof which only was accessible about ten minutes prior to the fireworks show, so students could watch.
The student council had everything organized thanks to Kendall's previous summer planning. She had everything pretty much set up so they could get everything decorated quickly, get everything prepared quickly, and organized so students knew where to go for what they wanted to do. Tia let her go for a bit so she could enjoy a bit of the night, being that she already did enough, and the council happy that everything was pretty much done for the night.
(**)
"Well she's being a busy bee." Teena laughed as she noticed Kendall over at the snack table talking to some of her council members.
"I think at last year's formal, she was the same way, plus the luau." Brianna thought about it. "She kind of barely gets time to enjoy these things."
"I guess it's a good thing you guys help in that department then." Scarlet remarked.
"Agreed." Brianna laughed, noticing her brother and Gunther in a little bit of a mess due to their fans. "If only the same could be said though, about them." She breathed out, shaking her head.
"I thought the school policy…" Teena glanced.
"To an extent." Brianna stated. "They can't ask for autographs or pics, now, but they can ask to dance with them and bother them in that sense." She folded her arms. "They can say no, but you see where this goes." She pointed at the swarming fans around the boys.
"Joyous." Scarlet and Teena commented.
"Then that means they can come for us, can't they…" Teena just now thought about it. Brianna glanced around.
"Ehh, people already have their dates or are settled with the pics and stuff you guys did previously." Brianna waved off their concern. "Mostly it's the girls that want to dance with them." She informed. Teena glanced over, seeing Jackie at the snack table getting something to drink. She figured she was going to talk to Kendall and help her. She glanced back over to Gunther, before looking at Jackie again.
"I'm sure it must suck at times like this." Teena stated. Brianna reading and understanding what she was getting at, while Scarlet had to look where she was looking, a saddened look coming onto her features.
"I can bet, given that she's not a mind reader." Brianna replied. "And to be fair, he doesn't always make it seem like he has a girlfriend, hell Nicolette only found out because of a dream he had, which I had to confirm it." Brianna remembered. "He just…I mean I don't blame her if she gets hurt by this." Brianna breathed. "Both of them act…"
"Idiotic." Teena interrupted, knowing exactly that's how they act. "He shouldn't do this to her." Teena shook her head. "Doesn't matter about the fans, he should stand up for her."
"You know why that could be difficult." Brianna looked at her.
"He's just being a coward." Teena retorted.
"I agree." Scarlet came in. "He just doesn't want to change her, that's the only reason he won't do shit. It's stupid, utterly stupid."
"I also agree, but…" Brianna just let out a breath. "I can't change either of their minds." She continued. "What they decide to do, it's their choice." She glanced back at them. "I just wish they think about the others perspective, being that yeah…" Brianna looked over at Jackie. "I'm positive this isn't fair to her, given she deserves a normal formal, or dance, that's not bombarded with his fans." She commented. "However, I do know, if the fans did know, she be in danger, which is another strong reason why they have to keep this a secret."
"Again, this is only because he won't say anything and won't change her, if he did something, she could be in less danger." Teena remarked.
"Especially since that would mean we could protect them without being careful." Scarlet added.
"Including, if it meant against those two." Teena glared as she finally saw Ira and Sally walk over to the boys, some of the other fans moving as they didn't want to get in those girls' way. Brianna narrowed her eyes as well since she saw Sally look over towards the snack table, then went back to flirting with Gunther.
"Oh yeah, I'd say those two certainly need to be hurt." Brianna just shook her head again, as Scarlet and Teena got annoyed with watching the boys try to handle their fans and those girls.
(*)
"You know what you have to do, right?" Someone questioned, as they were in the back with some others, watching the snack table.
"I told you I tried and it didn't work." Another voice came in, arguing.
"So you're giving up. You're not going to follow orders? You're not going to follow these rules that are…" The first person countered, their eyes narrowing.
"I get it." The second breathed. "I'll…" They glanced away. "I'll think of something."
"You're growing soft." A third voice came, their voice monotone and neutral as they did a slight look towards the second person. "Especially in regards to her." The first person started to laugh.
"How cute?" They chided. "But we don't have time for cute." They spoke. "You either get this done, or you know what will happen."
"I understand." The second person glanced up. "I just…I'll use something stronger…" They shook their head. "The chemical…it must have not been strong enough…" They tried to explain. "It…I should be able to get it to work this time."
"Just do what you need to." A forth voice came in, letting out a sigh. The second glanced at them, before nodding.
"Otherwise if you don't, you know what will happen." The first responded.
"I got it." The second told them.
(*)
"Is Tia finally letting you off?" Jackie asked as Kendall was finishing putting all the snacks and drinks out. She just gave her glasses wearing friend a look.
"I feel bad." Kendall admitted. "The freshman and sophomores don't know my system like the juniors and seniors do, plus I'm just trying to help out as much as possible." She told her. "She actually let me go like what twenty minutes ago." She thought about it. "I just wanted to finish with this floor's snack and drink table given I'm sure people are going to be thirsty or wanting snacks soon." She giggled. Jackie just shook her head at her blond friend.
"You should be enjoying the formal." She popped a small little cookie in her mouth. Kendall quirked an eyebrow at her.
"Shouldn't I be saying the same to you?" She had a small smirk. "A year right?" Jackie flushed hard, biting her lip, as she did a simple nod. 'I…I can't believe it's been a year…' She swallowed. Kendall lightly laughed. "So shouldn't you be trying to sneak some alone time with him?" Kendall elbowed her. Jackie glanced away.
"You…you know it's not…" She started. Kendall looked at her friend knowing why she was being this way. She glanced towards where there was a huge crowd of girls, and she knew the reason, before she looked back at her friend. Jackie let out a small sigh. "I'm sure we'll find time tonight….it's just…you know…" Jackie commented. 'It's really hard.' She thought. Kendall thought about her words.
"Yeah, I know." She placed the last few drinks on the table, before giving a water to Jackie, who took it. "But you know…" Kendall was trying to lighten the mood. "There are private rooms on the third and fourth floor." She spoke quietly, informing her. "And I'm positive what goes on in those rooms, you know it's…private and intimate." She nudged Jackie. "And there are even a few that technically the students can't get to, but…"Jackie glanced at her as she continued to tell her this. "Go through certain doors on the balconies and no one ever knows, if you catch my drift." She winked. Jackie blushed harder, biting the inside of her cheek, as she nodded.
"Thanks Kends." Jackie smiled. Kendall giggled.
"Anytime." She commented. "I hope you enjoy tonight." Kendall added. Jackie felt like her blush wasn't going to be leaving anytime soon, as the two moved from the snacks table.
They met up with Brianna and the others. Scarlet and Teena happy to see that Kendall was actually going to participate in the formal, which only caused her to laugh. She knew she had been busy a lot that night, but she was trying to help keep the formal running smoothly. The girls understood of course being that Kendall was the student council president, they just wished she had a bit more time to enjoy the event.
"Personally I am having fun." She tried to tell them, which Scarlet wasn't sure if that was true or not. "I like the fact that everyone is enjoying themselves." She assured. "That's the best thing for me to see."
"I don't know girl, I think you need to let loose a bit more." Scarlet countered.
"I agree, plus when you do, I think we all have a good time." Teena laughed as she agreed with Scarlet. The other girls just giggled.
"I admit not having responsibilities at events is great too." Kendall admitted. "But I like knowing I can make it so others can have fun as well." Kendall smiled. "There's an enjoyment in that to." She told them. This put a smile on the others faces.
"Ms. Kendall." A student came running up, which the others glanced. "We need your help again."
"And duty calls." Kendall giggled. "I'll see you guys later." She told them as she went with the other student, who was telling her what was wrong.
"She really doesn't get a break." Teena stated.
"No, but she loves what she does." Jackie responded. "So I think that makes up for it." She explained. The others nodding as they agreed with what she said. They went to go dance for a bit since the night was still young, and with the music getting a lot of people on the dance floor, Teena and Scarlet thought it might be a good idea to have some dancing fun. Especially with Jackie given that Gunther was still preoccupied at the moment.
Gunther noticed that Jackie was with the girls now. He was happy to see she was enjoying the night, and he wanted to enjoy it with her. However, he had to deal with his fans, given that the school didn't prevent them from completely swarming, since they all wanted to dance with him, all wanted his attention, and more. Yet, the only thing he wanted to do was be around his friends, especially Jackie. And he was positive Kick wanted that too, although given that Kendall was busy again, he was sure that disappointed Kick just a bit. However, the one thing the two of them needed to do, was escape their fans, especially with how these girls were being.
(**)
I finished doing a few more tasks gong from the third floor to the second. I ran into Nicolette and the others at few points as I was doing some things. I was glad everyone was having fun, whether it was dancing, or playing games. They seemed to be enjoying themselves. I even saw Jackie dancing with Brianna and them, which made me smile. Admittedly I had to somewhat laugh, because Gunther and Kick, started to use some interesting tactics to run and hide from their fans, whether that was going upstairs to the fourth floor, the bathroom and other places. They were trying to escape them now which made me laugh.
After I did my last task, I was hot. I was picking up heavy decorations, packages or more snacks and drinks. I was trying to help with the systems given sometimes they would go in and out, but now they were fine. And I had to make sure that the council members knew where everything went for clean-up and so on. I kind of was tired from all the work and heavy lifting. But I loved the fact that everyone was having fun and enjoying their New Year's Eve.
I snuck outside on the balcony to get some fresh air. The gardens of this place were beautiful. I had to confess looking at them from the third floor made it feel like a long ways down. I blamed the high ceilings with each of these floors. I took another deep breath. The air was cold and sharp out here. But I liked it since it cooled me off.
"Interesting you're alone." I wasn't expecting to have a visitor, let alone him. He shocked me when he suddenly spoke, the door behind him closed. I turned and glared at him.
(*)
She turned around surprised to see him, however soon narrowed her eyes. He walked closer.
"Ronaldo." Her voice was harsh as she folded her arms. "What do you want?" She asked. "I thought I made it pretty clear how I felt about you at Kick's pool party." She brought up, which caused him to look away. "Given you're still after the same things."
"You really don't understand anything." He spoke quietly. She felt angry, since many people kept saying that, but what was pissing her off, most was that she didn't believe it. She didn't believe him.
"Liar." He looked at her when she sneered at him. "The one here who doesn't know anything is you." She stepped forward. "You keep telling me that I don't understand. In fact you've said that even when were together, but thing is you don't understand." She was going to make this clear to him. "I don't want to be around you. I don't like you, I never should have kept our relationship going and even more," He just stared. "I never should have thought you were the safe choice." She admitted. His eyes widen with that. "Because you weren't." She continued. "You're a coward and you will always do the things that benefit you, Ronaldo." She finally got it off her chest how she felt. He clenched his jaw, as he couldn't look at her at the moment. "I hope you finally understand now." She finished. He looked back up at her.
"Yeah Kendall I do." He was quiet. He found it hard to swallow but he did. What she said it hurt, not that most of it wasn't true, but it didn't mean it still didn't sting. Before either knew he had her on the balcony ledge railing, sitting, one hand on her back, to which she almost screamed, but he covered her mouth with his other. She wanted to push him off, but found if she did, that might end up with her falling off the railing. She was breathing hard, looking at him. "I'm not going to kill you." He assured. "So don't look at me like that." He let out his own breath, knowing he shouldn't have done that. 'I'm making more stupid decisions…She is right…I am a coward…' He admitted to himself. He looked back at her. "I'm going to uncover your mouth, but don't scream, understand?" He questioned. She glanced behind her, then at him, nodding.
"Why are you doing this?" She gulped. "Did my…" She started.
"Kendall listen." He interrupted. "There are many things you don't know." He told her. "You may have made me understand your feelings…" He glanced away. "And yes I have to accept them." He breathed. "However, you have to understand something with mine, and the things around you." He continued. "You don't live in the world you think you do, you nor Jackie." He clarified. "And your friends are not who they say they are." He brought up. She just stared at him, knowing if she made a wrong move she could easily fall off the balcony. She had to listen to this, even though he has said it before, but she still didn't believe it.
"You say that, but my friends at least are there for me and protect me. They care about me." She defended. "They care about Jackie and me." She corrected.
"You're wrong." He argued. "They're the reasons you guys might die." She widened her eyes. "They are putting you in more danger then you think."
"You're…that's…that's not true…" She countered.
"Trust me it is." He stated. "And I'm trying to make it so no one hurts you." He retorted.
"By holding me off the ledge." She came back, as she looked back, the action causing her to almost fall off, but he had a hold on her back and brought her forward. She panicked. "Yeah, sure, they're the ones putting me in danger." She fired back.
"Believe me or not, but you and Jackie are in danger." He informed. "And I don't want to hurt you." He added. "And I'm not going to kill you…" He let out a breath. "I'm just here to make sure nothing happens to you, since I do care about you." He removed his glasses. She narrowed her eyes, trying to figure out a way to get out of this. "And you can believe me or not." He continued. "Because either way I'm going to protect you and I don't care how mad you get at me, especially for following these rules." He stated, bringing her closer, she tried to push on his chest but found if she did it would be a really bad idea.
When he kissed her this time it was different, she unfortunately had to give in. She hated it. She felt there was no choice and the fact he was deepening the kiss made it worse because it left a horrible taste in her mouth. She clawed at his clothes, wanting to get him off her, but she also didn't want to fall off the railing. She didn't know what the hell he was trying to achieve as she felt the hand on her back move up her spine. His hand moved her hair off her shoulders and she hated his touch.
The second the kiss ended she felt better. She could breath, not that his kiss was good, but it was suffocating. He went to move his lips down her neck and she continued to push him off her as best she could.
"Get off." She protested, hating his touch. He glanced up. 'Why the hell didn't it work?' He questioned in his mind. 'She should be in a daze, more to it…it should have…' He was trying to understand, as he continued to trail down her neck.
Their session, however was cut short when Ronaldo was roughly removed from her, which Kendall would have screamed if Kick hadn't helped her. She was breathing hard as he held her. He glared at Ronaldo, as Brianna, Scarlet, Mouth, and Gunther had harsh looks aimed at him. Brianna glanced behind her towards Kendall who was trying to catch her breath, before looking back at him. 'Kick get her out of here.' She instructed in her thoughts. He gave a look towards his sister. 'You really think…' He was about to protest. 'Kick, make sure she's okay.' Brianna glanced back. 'We've got this, besides the fact the others did so much to prevent us from getting out here proves this is a pressing issue.' She continued. 'Now go make sure she's okay, we can handle this.' She reiterated. Kick let out a breath, glancing at Gunther, who just nodded at him.
"Come on Kends let's get out of here." He whispered to her, helping her up as they left. Ronaldo watched, before he looked away.
"You guys are putting in danger." He brought up.
"Don't tell me who's putting who in danger." Brianna threatened. "Pull something like this again, and you will never see another day."
"And tell those that you're in league with, if they try, I mean try anything similar to Jackie, they will answer to me." Gunther didn't warn as he just gave a dark look towards the boy who was now putting on his glasses, it made Ronaldo nod at him.
"Hope you all understand now, who it is you're dealing with." Mouth came in. Ronaldo went back in, Debbie following being that she was close. Brianna gave her a harsh glare before she left, which left an impression on her.
"Jackie's with Teena right?" Gunther glanced at Scarlet. She nodded.
"Yes, when Jackie noticed that Kendall was gone, and Loraina and the others noticed how those asses were moving, Teena thought it best to stay close to her, while we searched for Kendall." Scarlet informed.
"Smart plan." Brianna stated. "However now I'm pissed and this will not go unnoticed." She breathed.
"Kendall will be okay right?" Mouth questioned.
"He was trying to use his ability, which has to do with chemicals and touch, granted I don't think he was aware that our abilities don't work on her." Brianna folded her arms.
"Nor Jackie." Gunther added.
"Right. But the point is, this only shows he's never used them on her before, and that he wasn't expecting her to be immune." Brianna thought about it.
"Is that a good or bad thing?" Scarlet wondered.
"Not sure yet, but for now, I'll let Kick handle calming her down and settling this matter." Brianna concluded. "I'm sure the balcony edge alone, calls for some comforting."
"Kick should be able to handle this." Gunther assured. "For now I just want to make sure nothing happens to Jackie."
"Stay close to Teena then, and avoid the fangirls." Scarlet advised.
"Trust me, I'm trying." Gunther was getting exhausted by the tactics he was using.
"Let's just go back inside, I'm sure the others will keep our problems, now on the second level, and Kick can take care of Kends." Brianna started to walk towards the door.
"I think we should head up to the fourth level, might be better given it's a bit more private for all of us." Mouth advised as they all went back in.
(**)
Kick had taken Kendall away from the scene, bringing her up one of the stairs on the balcony then into a private room. He knew no one was there and just covered the door with the curtain so they could have some privacy, but also so he could check on her. She was still breathing a little hard, and trying to calm herself down, when he went back to see how she was.
"Kends…" He was concerned, seeing that she still looked shaken up.
"He…I…that…" She was stumbling on her words, trying to find the right thing to say. "What…what was that just now?" She had to look at him. "Why….why does he… I don't understand…" She was trying to understand.
"Kends it's okay." Kick tried to comfort her. "What he did…" Kick let out a breath, trying to figure out how to explain it. "It… he was just being…"
"Why does he keep bringing you guys up?" She glanced up at him. He bit the inside of his cheek, not sure how to respond. "I mean, it's…what he just did…why does he say you…all of you guys are the ones putting Jackie and I in danger?"
"Kendall, you have to know, we're not putting you in danger." Kick told her, holding her arms, looking at her. She stared at him. "We're not going to let anything happen to you nor Jackie." He assured. "We're going to protect you girls." He continued. "Gunther and I are going to protect you two." He affirmed. His words, not that she needed to hear them, calmed her. He brought her in, holding her close. She relaxed, surprisingly in his embrace. Not that her heart rate wasn't increasing, and her air begin to falter slightly, be he still soothed her. His warmth made her feel comfortable, as she relaxed in his arms. "I won't let anything happen to you." He whispered. She closed her eyes.
"I…I know Kick." She breathed. "You…you're always there for me." She looked up at him. "I don't believe him. I know he's…he's just trying to…I don't know what he's trying to accomplish." She admitted. "But I trust you Kick." He glanced away slightly with that, before looking at her. "You, all of you, are there for me. For Jackie." She added. "You won't let anything happen. Plus you always end up protecting me." She had a small smile, thinking about it. "You won't put me in any danger, even if you do stunts." She lightly laughed, trying to find some humor and lighten the mood. He chuckled, releasing her.
"My stunts won't put you in danger." He emphasized the fact that she was safe from harm. "You're okay, though right?" He asked. "He didn't hurt you?" He wondered, as he moved a few strands of hair from her face. She blushed, shaking her head.
"No…I mean it scared me…" She answered. "I…thought…the fact he had me….." She just shook her head. "I thought my father maybe…." She breathed. "But I guess not…" She leaned against the wall. He just watched her. "I believed he wouldn't kill me, surprisingly, I just…I don't know why he…why he was…" She was still trying to make sense of it. "Nothing makes sense." She remarked. "Why does he think you guys are so dangerous?" She inquired. "Does he think your stunts or something are going to hurt Jackie and me?" She was trying to figure out his mind process. "Nothing…nothing he says makes any sense." She told Kick.
"Just don't think about it." Kick commented. She glanced at him. "He's trying to play mind games like he did when he was under your father's control." Kendall got a concerned look, wanting to know why, that he could tell by her expression. "He may not be under your father's control, but he's just being completely…well words can't describe what I want to say or feel." Kick stated, his anger still there, but he trusted his sister and Gunther to handle the issue. He looked at her. "Just don't listen to him and just don't think about it." He reiterated. "He's just trying to play games and it's going to get him in a lot of trouble." He stated. She just let out another sigh, nodding.
"I get it…" Her voice was quiet. "Doesn't make it better." She said. "But I get it." As she glanced away, her mind wondering a bit now, as her fingers went to her lips. He noticed.
"Something up?" He questioned. She blushed, pressing her lips together before biting the inside of her cheek. She let out a sigh, letting her hand drop. He came closer as he was concerned.
"I have a sour, bitter taste in mouth is all." She finally spoke up. He had a curious look, leaning next to her. "He…let's just say I really hated that…" She glanced away. He just listened. "We never really made out when were together." She confessed feeling really embarrassed, her cheeks growing more scarlet. He was surprised to hear that. "So to have him do that…just…it's leaving a nasty taste in my mouth." She held her arms. 'There might be a few reasons for that, but…' His mind trailed. 'To hear this… Kendall….' He guided her to look at him which her eyes went a bit wide when he did that.
"You just need to replace the taste." He told her, knowing things were getting more intense. He had to keep telling himself to stay calm and in control, but noticing how she was, her reactions, her voice, and everything, it was beginning to make it difficult for him. She was becoming breathless again, being with how close they were, her heart rate increasing more.
"That's…I…don't know…how…" She whispered, he was inching closer, and she thought this was fantasy. That this wasn't real. Her breath wanting to get caught in her throat.
"You just need to erase it…with someone else…" Before either knew it his lips were on hers.
