Sesshoumaru stood in his living room, staring out at the world through the large windows. The sun had just crested and announced the beginning of a new day but he'd watched it rise, lost in his thoughts, in plans, in memories. He hadn't lied when he'd told the miko he wanted to know their child but still he was uncomfortable. Despite what he'd learned of her the night before, she was still an unknown quantity to him, an enigma that he wasn't entirely sure he wanted to know. There was no way to have the child and not the woman though.
Behind him, a deep voice cleared its throat and Toga smiled genially at his son. "I'm proud of you Sesshoumaru. You've made the right decision." He rubbed his hands together gleefully, a mischievous look coming into his topaz eyes. "I'm getting another grandchild out of this. You better not screw it up," he added, "Pregnant females are ornery. At least, your mother and Izayoi were. There are times you'll have to go alone with what they want, whether you want it or not."
The younger Daiyoukai snorted and glanced over his shoulder at his father. "She will do as she is told."
Toga laughed uproariously, shaking with mirth as he looked at his son. "Oh, you're in for a rude wake-up call, my boy. You have no idea!"
