What would happen if Tulio and Linda stayed at the clinic?

Tulio and Linda were watching a romantic scene, according to them.

"Maybe let's give them some privacy," suggested Tulio, lifting himself from a comfortable chair.

"A good idea" thought the woman. She followed the man, leaving the small monitoring room.

"Shall we go to dinner?" suggested Tulio.

"Erm... I wish I could, but I have to stay with Blu. I promised him that I would be close to him," said the woman. A couple of people were standing at a desk, behind which one of the bodyguards of the building, Sylvio, was sitting.

"Are you sure? We have the best bodyguard in the whole city here, Sylvia" said the man, introducing his employee. The man, without showing any emotion on his face, threw a pencil at the wall, hitting a flying fly. The impact was so strong and the pencil itself was so hard-pressed that it hit the wall.

"Wow," said the woman in impression.

"So how, do you agree?" asked Tulio again.

"Maybe tomorrow, I don't want to break my promise" stood by her.

"Well... So come on, I'll make you some coffee," said the man, taking the woman to the staff kitchen. She was across the hall. It was a small but cosy room with shelves, dishes and utensils to make tea or coffee.

"Do you want coffee or tea?"

"Coffee, please.

"What was the first impression Rio made on you?" asked Tulio when he was pouring coffee into decorated cups. He also intended to make this drink for himself.

"Well... I'm certainly surprised how big this city is."

"Everyone knows how big Rio is."

"Yes, I know too... Only that it's not the same thing to watch the city on TV and it's not the same thing to watch it."

"Of course (laughs), at first it may seem like a huge... But with time you will get used to it"

"I am not going to live here..."

"Well..." Tulio stopped because he started pouring water into the cups. He took one, already warmed up, cup in his hand and handed it to Linda.

"Suppose Blu and Jewel are together, what will you do then?"

"I don't know..."

"I don't know if this will happen, but if it does, what then?" asked Tulio, taking his cup in his hand.

"I will be upstairs as if. I'm going to fill in the papers and other things," the man said, leaving the kitchen. Linda was left alone in the room. She sat down at the table and put the cup on the table. She was wondering about Tulia's question. There was no certainty that it would work, but there was also no certainty that it would not work.

"I wonder if Blu wants it..." Linda sighed. She got terribly bored, so she started looking around the room looking for something to take her time. She noticed crosswords and a pen on the shelf. Fate smiled at her. She took both items in her hands and sat down again. But unfortunately, the crosswords turned out to be in Brazilian.

"Really... Maybe they are in English on the following pages," sighing the woman overturned the following pages. Eventually, she came across a chapter of crosswords where the slogans were written in English. She took a sip of coffee, took a pen in her hands and started to solve the slogans.

Time began to flow much faster. The passwords were quite easy, so Linda would turn the pages every few minutes to solve the next puzzle. She solved literally everything, some solutions came to her mind right away and she had to spend a little more time on some. By that time she had already had all her coffee. She did not feel sleepy. Her crossword puzzle solving was interrupted by a sudden bang coming from the corridors.

"WHAT THE..." said Linda jumping up and down. She put the crossword puzzles and a pen aside to go out into the hallway to see what happened. She leaned out the door but saw nothing because the lights were off and it was dark. However, while focusing, she saw nothing suspicious, nothing distinctive. She went a little further and looked around not to miss a single detail. Finally, she saw the door open.

"Did anyone here..." She wanted to ask Linda when she saw a man lying on the floor.

"Sylvio!" She screamed Linda when she saw a man unconscious. She shaken him a little to see if he would wake up. Next to him she weighed some liquid-soaked material.

"But who's gonna..." Linda whispered when she heard a sudden jerk coming from the other end of the corridor.

"Hello? Tulio?" Linda yelled, but didn't hear the answer. Unable to find the light switch, she took a torch from an unconscious worker. She turned it on and walked forward slowly. Her heart was beating like a hammer for her. Her heart rate accelerated rapidly.

"Whoever you are, don't move," the woman said. Finally, by the doorway leading to the aviary, she noticed the average height of the boy. He had a bag and a cage in his hands.

"Hey... Who are you?" asked Linda when she saw the boy. Meanwhile, Tulio began to descend from the upper floor.

"Linda, where..." he stopped talking when he noticed the situation. He approached Linda and looked at the boy with a stark eye.

"Who are you and what you wanted to do," Tulio asked immediately.

"I am Fernando..." ...the boy answered. He couldn't say anything more.

"You wanted to steal our spix Macaw," a man threw him.

"It's not like that!" The boy tried to defend himself, but without success.

"I mean, I just wanted to make money," the boy sighed.

"Who do you work for?" asked Tulio. The boy did not answer.

"Either I call the police to have you picked up, or you tell them who you work for and you won't be convicted.

"He doesn't have to work for anyone", Linda interjected.

"I beg you... Such a boy wouldn't know what to do with such birds..."

"I will say... He works for three bird poachers, now they have a base in the upper Rio."

"Poorer neighbourhoods" answered Tulio. The boy nodded with a head movement.

"Okay... Go young, disappear," said the man. Fernando put the cage and sack down and headed for the exit.

Tulio, on the other hand, entered the aviary for a while to see how Jewel and Blu are doing.

"They are asleep" was communicated by the man and then he closed the aviary.

Epilogue

Tulio late at night, when Linda, already calmed down, left the clinic, decided to play back the camera recordings, as Jewel and Blu were doing.

What he was watching shocked and saddened him. He saw Blu being attacked by Jewel. Despite this, he decided to hide this fact so that Linda would not interrupt this experiment. Then he saw how it happened that Sylvio lost consciousness. He was amazed that it was a bird and not Fernando who put the material in his mouth. He decided to clarify this with his employee. The following day, Tulio went to a nearby police station to make a notification of a rogue poach.

He then talked to Sylvio about what happened last night.

"That white bird we found last night put that rag on his mouth like this!" saying this, he put that rag on his mouth and as a result he lost consciousness again. Tulio moved the man into an air-conditioned room to recover.

Finally, he talked to Linda about Jewel and Blu.

"I would like them to spend a week together for observation" asked Tulio. Linda agreed to visit part of the city. Although Tulio doubted his success, he wanted to try, he did not want to give up so easily...

And here is Rio's 50 alternative history! I would like to thank everyone who is writing their idea for the chapter! I wonder how many more different versions of Rio we will come up with...
