Still at the New Year's Eve Party/Formal, continue to listen to music if you want.

The Resolution:

"That's…I…don't know…how…" She whispered, he was inching closer, and she thought this was fantasy. That this wasn't real. Her breath wanting to get caught in her throat.

"You just need to erase it…with someone else…" Before either knew it his lips were on hers.

(**)

She felt his lips on hers, not sure whether to believe if this was real again or not. But many parts of her didn't want to care at the moment. She didn't want to think about it not being real. About anything really. All her mind could tell her, all it could comprehend, was she loved this warmth, she wanted this warmth. She wanted to sink into this. Her mind telling her to enjoy the moment like she did on Christmas Eve. She loved him. This is what she had always wanted, to be in a moment like this with him again. To be held by him, to have his attention like this.

He released her lips briefly before pressing his against hers again. This time deepening the kiss. He knew he shouldn't do this. That this could easily be a bad idea. But the fact she was allowing him to kiss her, to deepen it, was driving him a bit mad. He had always wanted this. Always wanted to press his lips against hers again and feel that warmth. Always wanted to hold her again, but this time with her aware of the action. With her wanting the action. He didn't want to do it out of a need to hide or for some weird excuse, no he wanted it like this, because they both wanted it. Both needed it.

He wanted to do so many things, but always kept himself from doing so. And now, now he was being driven mad because he was being given the chance to be with her the way he always wanted. He loved the way her lips tasted as they were still sweet and addicting. He was bringing her in closer, as he had her against the wall, further enjoying this moment.

She felt his tongue inside her mouth and didn't mind it. Her breath already slipping as she sank further into him. Her hands on his chest as he explored her mouth, further taking her air away and making her feel like she was in a daze. This is what she had always wanted. For him to notice her like this and to love her. To feel the same way. She couldn't believe she was in a moment like this with him. Her mind was getting more and more fogged the further they kissed. The further he took her breath away, and she loved it.

"Kick…" She let his name slip as he finally released her lips again so she could breathe. His own hot breath mixing with her heaving breathing. The way her voice slipped out drove him crazy. He let his lips trail down her jaw to her ear, enjoying the fact she was so breathless, in a daze and holding onto his jacket the way she was. The fact he made her like this, made her lips look plumper than they already were, and was receiving such a reaction, he was losing his control.

"Kendall…" He whispered, his voice low and husky in her ear, just liked she always dreamed. It was making her melt further. "I've…I've always wanted you….like this…." He confessed continuing to trail his lips further down her neck to the top of her chest. One of his hands going up her thigh, so her leg wrap around his waist, while he continued to inch up her dress.

She always dreamed he say something like that. She…always dreamed he be like this. Her mind, starting to process what was going on. 'Did…did he say that?' She questioned. 'Or…am I….' Her mind trailed. She felt how high his hand was on her thigh, where it was traveling, and where his lips were descending. And as much as she wanted this, as much as she wanted to believe this, something felt, wrong.

"Kick….stop…" She pushed him off, her voice really quiet when she spoke. And she didn't mean to, but she did it a bit roughly. He was surprised when he was pushed off.

"Kends…" He was about to ask what was wrong, given he knew he lost it a bit, but thought she was enjoying herself, however when he looked up and saw she was holding herself, looking away, he got worried. "Kendall?" He asked, wanting to walk closer.

She let out a breath. He wasn't solely to blame here. She did this to herself. She was confusing dream with reality, and now she just…she just made things worse. She wanted to be with him, wanted him to notice her, to love her, but was she really willing to be like…be like his fans. 'I'm….I'm so stupid…' A few tears came down her cheeks. She heard him call her name again

"I'm….I'm your friend Kick…." She finally commented. "I'm not…I'm not one of your fans…" His eyes widening when she said that. She knew she shouldn't have said that. She knew that this wasn't all his fault, that this was also hers. That her mind did this. But she… she had hoped he would have noticed her. She quickly went for the door, bolting, running out into the hall.

"Kendall!" He called. He couldn't reach her, as she was quick. His breathing picked up, anger rising. 'They….they were right.' His fists clenched, before he grabbed one of the cushion pillows from one of the furniture pieces that were in the room, throwing the thing. He was pissed at himself. 'All of them….were right…' He looked down before punching the wall, lucky enough he didn't break it or damage it. 'I've….I've been stupid…' He quickly went out, to see if he could find Kendall. 'I have to talk to her, she needs to know she's different.'

(**)

Kendall had ran out of the room, running to the nearest place she could think of. She found a bathroom that was unoccupied. In fact it seemed to be not very much used given its little traffic. She quickly ran inside, sliding down the back wall, tears coming down her cheeks as she held herself. She knew she shouldn't have said that, but she wanted him so much. Wanted him to love her so much, that she confused reality with fantasy. She was sure he didn't even realize it and was just being a good friend. And now she ruined their friendship. He must hate her. The tears continued to fall. 'Why did love have to hurt so much?'

(*)

Kick came rushing out, bumping into his sister. She was surprised to see him in such a rush, given she figured he still be with Kendall.

"Brianna have you seen Kendall?" He was a bit out of breath, trying to search for her. She gave him a curious look.

"She was supposed to be with you." Brianna stared at him. "And you're telling me she's not. What happened?" He avoided the questioned and the hard gaze she was giving him.

"I just need to know if you have seen her." He reiterated. His sister now growing suspicious, before her eyes grew.

"You didn't…." Her voice was quiet.

"Brianna you can yell at me later, tell me you were right, whatever, I don't care." He told her. "Just have you seen her?" She never saw Kick like this. And all she could do was shake her head. He let out a heavy breath.

"I thought you still be with Kendall." Gunther came into the conversation as he walked over. Kick glanced at him.

"Gunther have you or Jackie seen Kendall?" Kick asked. Gunther was taken aback, given he thought that Kick was with Kendall.

"I haven't seen her." Gunther shook his head. "But I thought you were with her." Kick just let out another heavy sigh, Gunther seeing it, which caused him to look at Brianna who was just staring at Kick. He glanced back at Kick. "Kick, what…what did you do?" Kick couldn't look at him. "Kick?"

"Screwed up…" He finally admitted. "What you guys have all been saying." He mentioned. "Because you guys were right…and now…" He let out another heavy breath. "I hope I can fix it…" Gunther glanced at Brianna who was still staring at Kick. He gave his friend a sympathetic look as he knew what that meant. "Where's Jackie?" Kick wondered. "Maybe she…maybe she's seen Kendall…" He hoped.

"I was only able to be with her for a few minutes after finally avoiding the fangirls, until she said she had to go check on something." Gunther answered. "I'm not sure exactly where she is." Kick glanced at him.

"Don't worry, the asses are on the first and second floors." Brianna came in, knowing the concern they could have. "They're nowhere near here." She assured. Kick nodded.

"We should at least search for them…I have…" Kick glanced away.

"We'll find her." Brianna spoke, as her and Gunther went to help him search for Kendall.

(*)

She didn't hear the door open or close, nor did she hear it lock. However, when she felt someone sit next to her and hold her, she knew who it was. Kendall glanced up, tears still coming down her cheeks. Jackie grabbed her cloth from her small purse, wiping them, bringing Kendall in close, as she comforted her.

"What happened?" Her voice was quiet as she asked. Kendall let out a small sigh, before telling her everything. She felt so stupid, but also felt so amazing because it was Kick. She wanted to believe in that moment so much. And Jackie knew that. She wiped a few more of her tears.

"He probably hates me now…" Kendall breathed out.

"I doubt it." Jackie spoke. Kendall looked at her.

"How can he not, or he thinks I hate him. I mean….I just…" Kendall was at a loss for words. "I ruined everything. I wanted what you and Gunther have…but him and I….what was I thinking?" She questioned.

"If you ask me, I think you two just need to talk." Jackie advised. Kendall looked panicked. "Not tonight." She added. "But, soon." She continued. "I think it's best if you guys do that."

"You really think he wants to talk to me after this, after all of that?" Kendall inquired.

"I think he will, yes." Jackie had a small smile, wanting to comfort her. "As for tonight, why don't we just enjoy the rest of New Year's Eve and this dance?" Jackie suggested. "Besides there are some delicious cookies and other sweets on the snack table that might have our names on them." She had a small giggle. Kendall let out a sigh, but nodded, knowing that sounded like a good idea. "Come on." Jackie helped her up. The girls dusting themselves off. Jackie helping her touch up a bit of her make-up and making sure she looked party worthy again, before they left the bathroom.

(*)

"I can't find her…" Kick was disappointed. He wanted to talk to Kendall. Wanted to clear things up with her. Brianna was also disappointed, but she also knew she warned Kick about this. However, she wasn't going to hurt him further by telling him, given he already was depressed by this. She hoped, though, this might wake both boys up.

"She has to be somewhere." Gunther stated. "We'll find her." He spoke.

"Find who?" The boys glanced behind them. Teena and Scarlet were coming forward. Scarlet had just finished talking with emo kid while Teena was nearby.

"Just who are you boys looking for?" Teena wondered.

"Have you girls seen Kendall or Jackie?" Brianna came in.

"Yeah they're over by the snack table." Scarlet pointed. The boys glanced. "Although weren't you supposed to be with Kendall?" Scarlet had a sly expression aimed at Kick, folding her arms. Kick glanced away, not making any witty comeback or remark, which both Teena and Scarlet noticed. Scarlet narrowed her eyes. "Kick. What did you do?" She already knew something was up.

"And weren't you supposed to be with Jackie?" Teena also had a look.

"Teena, Scarlet enough." Brianna came to her brother's defense.

"What do you mean enough?" Scarlet questioned. "What the hell happened?" As she had a glare aimed towards Kick. He didn't respond, while Gunther glanced at him.

"Scarlet." Brianna narrowed her eyes. Scarlet let out a grunt, Teena noticing the way he was acting. "Enough." She warned.

"Fine." Scarlet relented. "But this isn't over, and we will find out what happened." Her voice was harsh as she and Teena walked away.

"You didn't have to…" Kick started.

"Trust me, I want to kick your ass right now." She shot a look at him. "However, kicking you while you're like this does no good." She breathed. "You two need to talk." He glanced over to where Kendall and Jackie were. Kendall for brief moment locked eyes with him before she glanced away, talking to Jackie. He let out a sigh, leaning against the wall. Gunther and Brianna looking at him.

"I don't think she wants to talk to me." He commented. "She hates me, and she has every right to." He shook his head. "I….I lost control…" He swallowed. "Even worse…I…." He hated that he hurt like this. "I made her think that I wanted her like one of my fans…" He looked down. "I'm completely stupid and the worse." Gunther wanted to comfort him, but knew Kick wouldn't take it. As he leaned against the wall next to him. Brianna glanced over to where the girls were.

"Just give her time, I'm sure you guys….you guys will work this out." Gunther told him.

"Sure…" Kick was doubtful. "You know….I wouldn't be surprised…if she wasn't thinking about that guy." His voice was quiet. Brianna glanced at him with that. "I…I think it's clear she hasn't moved on…" He let out. Gunther had a sad look. Kick side glanced him. "You know Gunther you don't have to stay here." This took him back. "You should at least enjoy the night with Jackie." Gunther looked over at the girls.

"I will." He said. "But right now she's comforting Kendall." He mentioned. "And I won't get in the way of that." He spoke. Kick glanced at him. "Don't worry I will spend time with her, but I think like me, we just want to be with our friends right now."

"Don't pick sides Gunther." Kick stated.

"I'm not, I know you're an idiot." He replied. "Doesn't mean you don't need a friend though." Kick let out a breath.

The girls were over by the snack table, each of them enjoying the sweets that were placed there. Kendall was feeling a bit better, knowing she got to enjoy some sweets. Although she couldn't help feel a bit down when she saw Kick with scarlet for a bit, and then when he looked over at her, feel even worse. She knew what she said made things bad between them. Jackie looked at her, as she saw her get sad again.

"Just give it some time, I'm sure things will be fine." Jackie tried to comfort her.

"You say, but I…." Kendall let out a heavy sigh. "I know I ruined our friendship. He hates me."

"I don't think he does. Just talk to him." Jackie rubbed Kendall's arm. "When the times right, I'm positive everything will be okay." Kendall glanced away, taking another small brownie and taking a bite. "Good thing sweets help."

"Especially dark chocolate." Kendall had a small giggle, though was still feeling off about the whole thing. She finished the treat. "You know you should be with Gunther, find a way to sneak away, here." Kendall told her. "I'll be fine, you know."

"I know…" Jackie commented. "It…I will…we'll be alone soon enough." She added. "I just want to be here for you for a bit. I'm allowed to do that." Jackie popped a small fruit tart in her mouth. Kendall lightly laughed.

"Yeah…"

"Oh, Kendall there you are." Tia came up, both girls turning. "Something came up with the final performance we had planned out for the night."

"What do you mean?" Kendall asked.

"The performance we had initially for last few slow dances before the fireworks show." Tia responded. "Sadly they cancelled and can't come."

"What?" Kendall was surprised.

"We know this is short notice, but given some of us members were at the pool party, we thought we get you to do the slow songs." Tia informed.

"Wait, what?" Kendall was even more shocked.

"Please Kendall we know you have the talent, and its only two songs that are already prechosen." She brought up. "We have been looking all over for you, please you're our only choice, and know how to do this." Kendall glanced back at Jackie, who just gave her an encouraging smile, before looking back at Tia.

"Tia...I…I don't know…" Kendall was unsure. Tia had a pleading look. She let out a breath. "I guess, I mean it's only two songs and I don't mind, being the firework show will be thirty minutes after these slow dances." She thought about, relenting. Tia hugged her.

"Oh thank you, follow me and we'll get everything situated." Tia grabbed her hand, leading her to stage and systems that were on the floor. Jackie trailing as she wanted to be encouraging. Kendall looked over the two songs, she didn't mind them, but something about them felt off. She looked over at the playlist that the council had, her mind wondering.

"Tia, can I ask a favor?" She spoke up, the girl looking back at her as she was done talking to a few other council members.

"Sure what's up?" Tia smiled.

"Mind if I change the songs?" Kendall asked. "They'll still be slow…I just…" She glanced at the two on the playlist she wanted to do. "I think there are some that might fit my voice better and that I can perform well." She tried to find the right reason. Tia shrugged.

"I don't see why not, go for it." She replied. "Stage is all yours." She laughed grabbing some stuff to head to another room, the council members following. Kendall looked at Jackie.

"You got this." Jackie encouraged. "Plus I think the songs you're wanting to do…" She also looked at the screen, knowing Kendall to well. "They're fitting and meaningful. Just do you." She smiled. Kendall nodded. They heard Tia announce that the last live slow songs of the night were going to come on. Jackie went to go back to the snack table so she could watch, while Kendall quickly replaced the songs with the ones she wanted to do, before heading on stage.

(*)

Kick and the others heard the announcements for the last slow dances. He wanted to tell Gunther to go dance with Jackie, however when he heard Kendall's voice as she started singing he got surprised. He glanced towards the small stage, before looking down, thinking about how he screwed up and if her mind was on someone else. Brianna glanced at him with as sad look, before continuing to watch Kendall.

She liked this song, because it was true. Sometimes there were times he just didn't know how much she liked being around him. He made it easy to think of all the moments. Sometimes he just made her feel like she was going crazy. And yeah, even when she was with Ronaldo, she knew who she really wanted to be with. She wasn't tempted. He had no idea what he did to her. And sometimes, she wished she had more courage to speak up. To speak her mind. Because he made her feel breathless, feel weak, feel warm, and so much more. And when he wasn't around, it was hard not to think about him.

She glanced at him briefly, a small smile crossing her lips as she sang the bridge, many memories coming back to her. He really didn't know how he affected her. Jackie noticed how she was singing, the couples seeming to enjoy the song, on all the floors. She smiled, knowing why this song meant so much. And she hoped things would work themselves out between her and Kick.

As the second song started, Kick couldn't deny she had a beautiful voice but his mind couldn't help but wonder who these songs were about now. It hurt to think she liked someone else, but he also understood why. The others were right, he didn't show his feelings like he should have, and even more he could never admit his feelings until just recently. He didn't deserve to feel guilty, jealous or anything about this. If anything, he knew he deserved the treatment he got, he's had it coming for a long time. No matter how much it still hurt. He looked away.

"I still think you two can make up…" Brianna tried to comfort him, though she knew he probably wouldn't take it. "Just give it some time. You both need a little space before you talk, okay." She let out a sigh, folding her arms.

"Yeah…sure…" He replied. Gunther looked at him.

More memories filled her mind as she sang the second song. This one hitting home more for her because the verses fit her and Kick too well. She loved him when they got into arguments and were yelling at each other back when they were kids, because she love it when she got his attention, to when they had moments like when they were in the hall at school or at her place. They all filled her with joy, laughter, warmth, and love. She didn't even know why she tried to deny her feelings, or anything with him.

He drove her insane, made her breathless, made her heart skip, and it was the point she just enjoyed being around him. It was like they were angels and devils, complete opposites, but she was attracted to that since forever. She was attracted to everything with him, the heartache, the pain, the breathless moments, these dreams, the memories, the craziness, everything. And she remembered it all.

Jackie watched as she sang, her blonde friend having a blush and smile on her face. And as the bridge came, being that she knew the song all too well, she stuck her fist in the air, which Kendall saw and did the same when she hit the high note. Jackie just kept her smile as she saw her friend perform, knowing this was what she needed, and that this song helped her in so many ways. Gunther, Brianna and Kick saw what the girls did, as Kendall got off stage, heading over to Jackie, giving her a hug.

"I wouldn't be surprised if Jackie knows who Kendall likes…" Kick commented. "Those two know each other really well."

"Yeah they do." Gunther agreed.

(**)

As the night continued, most of the students went to go find places for the countdown to the firework show for the the New Year. Kick stayed where he was, telling his sister to enjoy her time with Mouth, which she ended up doing, but she couldn't help but tell him to at least enjoy the New Year, with some optimism. The others all finding places either on the balconies or roof to get ready to watch the show. Kendall thought it best to try and busy herself, helping the council members, which Jackie didn't seem to very much like as she thought she should at least enjoy the New Year as well, however, Kendall nudged her to not think about it, and focus on something else.

With everyone pretty much gone and Jackie now alone since Kendall went to go do things, she decided to head towards the hall. She wanted to see where she could get the best view for the show, being that most people were on the roof, because of how it was set up, but she wanted to stay on the floor she was on and just enjoy the show from there. Someone, though, had other plans as they quickly grabbed Jackie's hand, pulling her into a private room and closing the door. She knew who it was the moment she was in the room with them.

"Gunther…" She breathed out, shaking her head. "You really need to stop doing that." She had a small laugh.

"I guess I'm still trying to hide given that everyone was heading for the roof and other places to get ready to watch the show." He admitted, walking towards her. She flushed.

"Right." She glanced up. "Is…I….I shouldn't ask, but…." She was curious. "I know they'll….things will be okay…they just need some time is all…" She spoke. He at first didn't get what she was saying, until she said that.

"He'll be okay, I think." Gunther commented. "But yeah, I think some time before they talk." Jackie nodded in agreement. "However, as much as I like to talk about our friends…" He brought her closer, one hand on her back, the other caressing her cheek. "I think we have a year to celebrate." She blushed more, her heartrate increasing.

"It's…it's not New Year's yet…" She barely whispered. He chuckled at that.

"If I recall I kissed you before, during, and after." His voice was low as he pressed his lips against hers. She sank into it immediately, loving the feel of it, the feel of his lips against hers as they were warm and made her feel tingly. It made her heart race, the air get caught up in her lungs, and chills run down her spine. He always made her feel dizzy. Made her feel breathless, like she couldn't breathe. And she loved it. When he had her against the wall, she didn't mind, she hoped for more. Hoped for him to make her feel warm all over.

He brought her closer, her hands resting against his chest, while the kiss deepened, and just like the previous year the fireworks rang in the background, except they didn't part to look. Not until he let her breathe. When she glanced out the balcony window to see the illuminating light from the show, it made her smile as she glanced back at him, wanting to get back into this moment they had.

"Happy New Year Jackie, and happy anniversary." He whispered, before pecking her lips.

"Happy New Year and anniversary Gunther." She was happy. She didn't want to leave this moment. But more to it, she wanted it to continue further. When he placed his lips on hers again she wanted to sink into him again. She didn't mind if the kiss deepened and took her air away. She just wanted it to continue.

The fact for a year he has been able to be with her was amazing, but she made it difficult to keep his composure and control. The way she reacted to him, he loved it. Loved seeing her get flushed and breathless. It just drove him crazy. It made him wonder how else she might react. But, he also knew he had to keep his control. However, it was always hard with her.

His hand that was on her back slid down to her side, and it sent shivers throughout her system. She loved it. His hand beginning to travel to her side then to her hip then thigh. She loved it. The kiss they shared taking away her breath further as she enjoyed this so much. He realized where his hand was and removed it, knowing he needed to control himself or else.

When he parted from the kiss, she looked at him breathless. She still had her hands on her chest, as he still had her against the wall, but he parted slightly so they have some space. And she didn't want that. 'He's…He's doing it again…' She thought. She wanted to pull him back, but knew that would be embarrassing, if not a few other things.

"We should get going." He let out a small sigh, smiling at her. "I'm sure the others are looking for us." He brought up.

"But…Gunther…" Her voice was quiet, barely an audible whisper. She didn't want that, she didn't want to leave yet.

"Come on Jackie." He started to head out, being that he didn't hear her.

"I'll…I'll be there in a bit." She told him. "Just…just give me a minute." She assured, loud enough this time so he hear. He nodded, heading out. And once he did, she slid down the wall holding herself. 'I...I don't understand you…' She had a few tears come down. 'It's been a year now…' She continued to think. 'Am I….still…' Her mind trailed, as she let out a breath, wiping the tears, hoping it didn't look like she had been crying. 'Shake the thoughts Jackie…shake the thoughts…' She let out another breath before getting up and heading out.
