Fitz inhaled the scent of fresh bread. Olivia was making another batch of jam and looking for Halloween costumes on her phone. He didn't know how they were going to eat all of the jam in one weekend. They had baked fish and fried fish. It was almost dark outside. He loved every minute of being with Olivia in Vermont, but he also missed their kids. It was so different not hearing Amelia laugh running around the house or Karen crying when she needed a bottle.

"Are you having a party for your class?"

"Yeah, I'm ordering a few pizzas, and they'll watch a movie in the afternoon."

"That sounds fun."

"She wants to be Princess Jasmine and Princess Tiana. Why does she need two costumes?"

"She can wear one to the Halloween party at school at the other can be for trick or treating." Fitz said.

"Yeah, I know she wants to go trick or treating. You can stay home with Karen while I take Amelia around the neighborhood."

"Do you have any plans for Thanksgiving?"

"No, my mom wants to take Amelia to Disney World for the week."

"Do you want to come to Scotland with me? I'm going to see my family there. We can take Karen."

"An international vacation. We have to get Karen a passport."

"Yeah, we can get it when we go back to DC."

"I don't want Amelia to be left out. I don't know if she has a passport."

"We can let her decide where she wants to go for Thanksgiving break."

"Okay."

"We get together every year. It's a tradition for us."

"I hope they stay out of the water."

"The boating accident isn't supposed to happen until after my grandma's 100th birthday."

"I don't know. The dream isn't exactly like reality. The boating accident could be this year, or there might not be an accident. I'm not sure about anything."

"I can't convince my family to stop getting on boats."

"You can make sure they have life jackets. If they need them."

"Yeah, I can ask them to be more cautious."

"I hope they take your advice. We're not getting in any boats."

"I agree with you. No boats for our family."
