Chapter 101
.
Claire knew there was logic in simply letting Elle commit suicide. It would stop her body from exploding and killing innocent bystanders. And while Elle was likely to go back to Hell either way, but if she sacrificed herself like that there was a chance, however small, that she could get into Heaven and therefore not be used by Evil again. Still, Claire knew Elle, they didn't always get along, they were normally enemies, but it was much harder to let someone die if you actually knew them. Claire knew it wouldn't be sanctioned for her to go to America, but if she didn't it might mean Elle would explode, people would die, and the SBA would use that to stir up more hatred. Plus Claire figured that Elle could be a source of intel, maybe even help fight against Evil. Claire asked for help from the Charmed Ones, two different versions. In one world it had been the Halliwell sisters, Prue, Piper, Phoebe, and then Paige became a charmed one after Prue was killed. In another world it had been the sisters Macy, Mel, and Maggie. Claire needed help from all seven to covertly open a portal to America and bring Elle back. Before she left Claire said goodbye to her children, Malina and Tommy. Claire had died giving birth, she never got to see her children grow up. Claire figured she was likely to survive Elle's powers, given her own healing ability, but if she didn't she wanted Malina and Tommy to know that she loved them, that she was grateful for the time that they'd had in this new world. Claire also brought her own gun. She didn't want to kill Elle, but she needed to be ready for anything. The Charmed ones opened the portal, and Claire found herself in the desert, she would signal the when they needed to reopen the portal. Claire saw a trailer, and believed that was where Elle likely was, the lightning inside was a dead giveaway. Claire went inside, and immediately got hit with lightning. It knocked Claire down, Elle came out, the look on her face seemed to be genuinly sorry for this.
.
Elle: I'm sorry, it's getting harder to control my powers.
Claire: Good to know.
Elle: Why did you come?
Claire: I came to bring you to Antarctica. There's still plenty of wide open space to learn to control your abilities.
Elle: The news says that more refugees are going there all the time. What if I explode and accidentally kill someone? You should just shoot me now.
Claire: After that knockdown, that occurs to me too. But I still think you could help us stop Evil, do something good with your life.
Elle: When have I ever said or done anything that would make you think I could be good?
Claire: You were raised to be a killer, it's not entirely your fault what happenned. I've seen good people become bad, I've seen bad people become good. For better or worse I think you can do better. But the decision has to be yours. Do you want to help us, or just give up.
Elle: I can't promise anything, but okay, let's give Antarctica a try.
