Joffrey sat on the Iron Throne. His father was presenting a bunch of documents for him to sign.

"Okay, this one is a bill of attainder against Lord Patrick Pewtershmidt, stripping him of Riverrun and all its lands and incomes," Tywin said. "And this one grants said lands, incomes, and castle to Ser Emmon Frey. This is a decree of legitimacy for a natural son of Lord Roose Bolton of the Dreadfort."

"A natural son of Roose Bolton," Joffrey repeated. "Is he that Ramsay Snow who burned down Winterfell?"

"That's the one," replied Tywin.

"Well, that makes him a real hero in my book. I'd like to meet him someday and congratulate him to his face. What's that last paper?"

"This is a royal pardon for Shelly Marsh, Lord Randy Marsh's daughter. She's the head of her family now…"

Jaime was talking to Hayley. "They say the Lannisters won this war, but I've lost my hand, my sister, and I'm about to lose my brother. Only reason Joffrey hasn't already executed him is because he's still trying to come up with the most sadistic method possible."

"Do you think Tyrion really killed your sister?" Hayley asked.

Jaime shook his head emphatically. "He may have hated Cersei, but he knew I loved her. I think somebody else killed Cersei and framed Tyrion for it. I tried to tell my father that, but he wouldn't listen."

"What about Meg Griffin? Where is she?"

"Father said that she ran off the day her father was killed. Nobody has any idea where she is. They've just been pretending she was in the castle this whole time."

"That sounds like a lie," said Hayley.

"My father wouldn't lie," said Jaime. "Not to me, at least."

Hayley said, "I promised Lady Griffin I'd return her daughter to her, but now Lois is dead herself."

"You can still keep your promise to her, though," said Jaime. "You may not be able to reunite Meg with her mother, but you can still find her and protect her yourself." He handed her a sword. "After Peter Griffin was killed, they took his sword and reforged the metal into two new swords. My father was gonna give one to me, but I can't wield a sword with my left hand and I can't hold it with my tentacle hand. So, I'm giving it to you. You'll be defending Peter Griffin's daughter with Peter Griffin's own steel."

"Problem is, I have no idea what Meg looks like," Hayley said. "When I asked her mom, she just kind of hemmed and hawed and said things like, 'Well, she has a great personality.'"

"I know someone who can help you with that," said Jaime.

The door opened and Jeff Fisher came in. "Sup? My name's Jeff," he said. "I know what Meg Griffin looks like. I saw her once, at a tournament. I never forget a face, even if I can't remember anything else."

Hayley smiled. "Nice to meet you, Jeff. Welcome aboard."

Brian and Steve went through the inner gate of the Wall. The outer gate was still broken.

"We might be going through this gate for the last time," said Steve.

"I wish I'd gotten a chance to talk to Stewie again before we went," said Brian.

No sooner had they passed beyond the Wall than a Manotaur came toward them. He was the same one who had witnessed Brian kill Qhorin Halfhand. He snorted through his massive nostrils. "Brian the crow. I feared we'd seen the last o' you."

Brian tried to lighten the mood with a joke. "I thought Manotaurs weren't afraid of anything."

"Who's your friend?" the Manotaur asked.

"This is Steve. He's a crow like me."

"If you've come to change sides again, best climb back on that Wall o' yours. Mance is pretty pissed at you," said the Manotaur.

"They've sent us to treat with the king beyond the Wall," said Steve.

"Treat?" the Manotaur laughed. "Now there's a word. Mance wants to talk, that's true enough. Can't say he'd want to talk with you, though."

"We're the ones they've sent," said Brian.

"I see that. Better come along, then."

When they came to the wildling camp, they passed Shmebulock the gnome. His arm was in a sling. He did not look happy to see Brian. "Shmebulock!" he growled.

"Whoa, what happened to your arm?" Brian asked.

"You ought to know," said the Manotaur, "since you're the one shot him with an arrow."

Brian realized Stewie must have shot Shmebulock while he was controlling Brian's body. He wondered what else Stewie had done.

The Manotaur brought Brian and Steve to Mance's tent. He hung back while they went inside. "You must be very brave or very stupid, Brian Griffin," Mance said when he saw them, "to come back to us wearing a black cloak. Take a look at this." He took a step sideways, revealing the eight-foot-long war horn behind him.

"The Horn of Joramun!" Brian gasped.

"That's right," said Mance. "You can tell your brothers if they don't let us through, I'll blow the horn right here and now and bring their Wall crashing down!"

"But the Wall's the only thing keeping the White Walkers out of Westeros!" Steve cried.

"Exactly," said Mance. "Go back and tell them to open their gate and let us pass. If they do, I will give them the horn, and the Wall will stand until the end of days."

Just then, they heard the low moan of another horn. Mance frowned. He went outside. Steve and Brian followed.

Many wildlings gathered around Mance. "Somethin's comin'," one man said. His name was Varamyr Sixskins. He was a warg like Orell.

"White Walkers?" Mance asked.

"No. Men."

Trumpets were blowing all around, loud and brazen. Guys were riding toward them on horses. They were not Night's Watch men. They were Stannis's men! Brian knew this because they were shouting "Stannis! Stannis! STANNIS!"
