Arrow v. Greyback

The speed the werewolf came at him with caught Oliver off guard, admittedly. He knew Greyback was going to be faster than a normal human, but this was far beyond what he had expected. Oliver couldn't even get his hands up in time before Greyback struck him, sending him off his feet and crashing into the wall, cracking the tiles on impact.

As Oliver gasped from the shock, he felt a sharp pain go through his chest, and he realized the hit had cracked one of his ribs. It hurt like hell, but it wouldn't be a problem in the long run. He was thankful that he had thought to add some armor padding into the suit when he was making his modifications, shuddering at the thought of what the damage from that one attack could have been otherwise.

He slowly got up, holding his chest from where Greyback's fist had collided, and was surprised to see the werewolf standing back, hunched over slowly pacing side to side, eying him hungrily. Oliver could see the feral excitement in his eyes, Greyback was enjoying this. Greyback had a malicious grin spread across his face, and was practically taunting Oliver to come to him.

Oliver could see what Greyback was trying to do, it was a classic tactic that even he had used himself before in the past, but his eyes glanced back behind him to see the group of hostages watching fearfully. The thought of Greyback succeeding in his goal to kill every single one of them for this ritual made his blood boil and foolishly Oliver rushed forward.

Greyback let out a pleased growl, apparating out of the way of Oliver's strike, reappearing behind the vigilante, slightly off the ground, putting his hands together and smashed them into the back of Oliver's head, sending him once again crashing to the ground with a sickening thud as mild cries rang out from the hostages as the vigilante hit the floor.

Oliver coughed as he put his hands on the floor, trying to position himself. His ears were ringing from the hit, and he could feel a sticky substance running down the side of his forehead. Blood trickled into his right eye, burning it as Oliver closed it instinctively. Barely able to hold himself up, Oliver growled, only adding to the painful throbbing in his head.

"What's the matter? Aren't you supposed to be coming in here and be a hero, save all these people?" Greyback asked, laughing. "I don't suppose you're just holding out so dear old Red can show up and save you, are you?"

"I'm not waiting for anybody," Oliver hissed. Nobody knew it, but one of the hostages had brought a phone out and was recording the fight.

"Oh yeah? Why's that? I mean, it's kinda strange, been a few weeks since the Red Arrow was last seen. I heard the reason he's missing is because he was killed." Greyback knelt down, grabbing the vigilante by the back of his neck, lifting him up to where his eyes could look towards the hostages. Oliver wasn't going to let him get under his skin, not when it came to Harry. Harry wasn't dead, there was no way… who would have done that to Electrocutioner then? "Come on, you're awfully quiet… could it be I'm right?"

"Like I said, I'm not waiting for anybody. He isn't the one protecting this city… I am..." Oliver growled, as he discreetly reached for a silver kunai from a holster on his leg, with Greyback none the wiser. "I don't need the Red Arrow to protect this city!"

Oliver twisted, breaking free as he brought the kunai up into Greyback's side, and rolled to his feet. Greyback hissed as he pulled the blade out. "Silver? That's just asking to piss me off."

Maybe that's exactly what I'm trying to do. I did my research on you, you're a brilliant fighter, both hand to hand and magic duelling. Not a single wizard has been able to catch you because of this. I know how it is when you get angry. Right now you're toying with me, wanting to play with me before you end it. This is just a game to you at this point, you think no matter what you'll be able to perform the ritual. That's good. You're still glancing over to the hostages right now, to make sure everything is going according to plan. I just need to get you mad enough to where you can't help but keep your eyes on me. Diggle's waiting outside, I just need to take you for a walk and make sure whatever happens, you can't take your attention away from me before it's too late.

Oliver's breathing was shaky from the pain of his injured rib, but he ignored it and took in a deep breath. Greyback's eyes seemed to glow brighter as the vigilante clenched his fists tightly, steeling himself. As he launched forward, his fist drawn back to punch him, Oliver knew that it was reckless to do this. Hand to hand combat against Greyback was his one weakness, but he couldn't help it. Oliver knew if he tried to stay at a distance and fight him, Greyback would still be focused on the hostages. Reckless or not, Oliver had to do everything in his power to get the werewolf's undivided attention. He might not have the superhuman abilities that the Red Arrow or even Greyback had, but he was certainly just as relentless and determined.

"What are you doing, Oliver?! YOU CAN'T LET HIM TOUCH YOU!" Hermione's panicked voice called out to him, as Oliver blocked it out, as the two connected their fists to their opponent's jaws, sending both of them to the floor. Only difference this time was that Oliver didn't let the pain get to him. He felt the crack to his jaw, and his face already felt like it was swelling, and upon rolling to his feet, he saw the blood drip off of Greyback's damaged jaw. The werewolf growled at him, and Oliver watched with a weak smile as Greyback's skin started to darken. That's it… we're getting there.

"Oliver, stop!" her voice called out once more, but Oliver merely wiped the blood off of his lip from where it had split open. The werewolf grabbed his jaw and put it back into place, the bone crunching as Greyback opened his mouth to reveal his monstrous teeth. The fangs were more prominent and even the incisors were pointed. Oliver couldn't help but notice how canine the structure of his teeth were becoming, and just smirked.

"I don't think he's listening, Hermione." Diggle informed her, as he began to creep his way into the plaza, just resting outside the door, peeking in to see the fight. Oliver and Greyback were nearly thirty feet away from the hostages, and with each hit they were getting further and further away from them.

"Dig, he's gonna get himself killed!"

"He has a plan… I think?"

From where he was resting, it looked like Oliver had a death wish, based off the bloodied grin on his face as the vigilante slowly stepped to where he was facing Diggle's direction, just so Greyback wouldn't look that way and possibly see him or catch his scent. Oliver had barely managed to see Diggle peeking through the door, but he was thankful to have caught it because now he knew what he needed to do. This next step was gonna hurt like hell, but it was going to give him the opening he needed.

"You know, looks like you're bleeding…" Oliver chuckled weakly, as Greyback let out a malicious growl. The werewolf's fists unclenched slowly and the claws glistened with his own blood, having dug into his palms previously. "What's the matter, didn't think I'd manage to make you bleed?"

Greyback charged forward, suddenly on all fours, and Oliver jumped to the side, bringing his fist down as Greyback spun, slashing at him, slicing right through the armor on his chest. As Oliver blasted him in the face, the werewolf was sent crashing through a nearby vase and headfirst into the staircase right beside it. Oliver landed on his back, holding his chest as the white hot searing pain from the slashes spread all the way through his torso. As much armor as he had put in there, Greyback's claws were more than a match for it. Not only had it cut through four inch thick armor that could stop bullets in their tracks, but it managed to go an inch or two into Oliver's flesh.

Diggle saw Oliver glance over to him, faintly waving his hand, and realized this was why Oliver was so focused on getting in close to Greyback. It was all to make sure the hostages could be saved. Opening the door all the way, Diggle watched as Oliver climbed to his feet and stumbled towards the staggered werewolf.

From within the crowd, Laurel was breathing heavily at the sight. It felt like her entire body was shaking as she watched the injured vigilante stumble, holding his chest as he moved towards their attacker. What the hell is going on? What… what is that guy? He, this can't be the same guy can it? Why is he doing this… he's trying to kill the Arrow. All he's trying to do is protect us!

Laurel was ripped from her thought by a hand grabbing onto her arm, pulling her to her feet. Looking at the hand's owner, she saw that Tommy was pulling her up, as he pointed to the door where Diggle was. "Come on!"

The hostages started to move quickly, and Laurel was still watching as the Arrow reached Fenrir, and fell to his knees over the man. The Arrow began proceeding to pound his fists into the man's body and face, unleashing a devastating roar of anger in the process.

"Laurel!" Tommy called to her, as she flashed him a look that begged to stay to make sure nothing happened to the Arrow, but there was no other option here. Tommy pulled her towards the door, realizing it was Diggle standing there guiding them out. "Diggle?"

"Hey, now's not the time! Go!"

Laurel managed to get free from Tommy's grasp and stood in the doorway, watching as Fenrir's eyes fell upon the retreating hostages.

"NO!" Greyback howled, as his eyes glowed brighter and his skin suddenly darkened to almost a charcoal ash, pushing the Arrow back off of him in the process. This wasn't going to happen. The Arrow was taking his chance to see Cirilla away, he couldn't allow this… he was going to ruin EVERYTHING.

He was met by a hand to the throat as the Arrow pushed against him, growling as he blasted him with a punch from his free hand. Greyback could see the fire in the Arrow's eyes and realized that this meant far more than anyone knew. The anger, fear, and determination in his eyes told him that the Arrow was doing this for more than just one reason, and Greyback couldn't understand why.

"LAUREL!" Tommy yelled, trying to pull her out of there, as the Arrow turned to look back at her.

"You need to go!" the Arrow ordered. "It's fine! I will not let him past me!" Greyback's strength was increasing, and the Arrow realized that time was about to run out for them to escape. The werewolf's hand grasped against his throat, and suddenly the Arrow was lifted off of the ground as Greyback climbed to his feet. The Arrow grabbed onto the werewolf's wrist and pried him off, growling intensely as he planted his feet down firmly on the ground. The werewolf headbutted him, knocking him back, but the Arrow didn't waver. The pain didn't matter now, everything he was going through currently was from adrenaline. The fear of something happening caused the Arrow to push forward, clashing against the werewolf as they clasped onto each other's hands, battling for dominance. The Arrow's feet began digging into the tile, and his eyes grew wide feeling his legs start to weaken from the strength. The strength of his exo-arms were an upgrade, but he should have made an upgrade to handle the strain on his legs.

Laurel watched with horror as Greyback started to overpower the Arrow in strength, baring his fangs at the vigilante as the Arrow turned back to Laurel. "Laurel, it's fine! Run!" he cried out, pushing back with all of his strength. "RUN!" his scream echoed throughout the plaza as she was grabbed by Diggle and pulled out as the last hostage made their escape.

"NO!" Greyback roared, and Oliver saw his humanity leave his eyes and the wolf completely took over. No amount of strength the exo-arms could give him was enough to fight against this overwhelming power, and Oliver felt his arms pop from the strain. His feet lost their holding and Greyback sent Oliver flying across the room as an inhuman howl/roar echoed throughout, the intensity of it shattering the lights throughout the plaza. Oliver crashed against the wall on the other side of the room, landing near Scabior's unconscious form. He gasped for air, looking over Scabior's body to see the outline of Greyback's body hunching over, and tearing at his clothes, shredding them.

Oh… shit.

The rage he felt was unthinkable. Years of searching for him, with the only lead he had to get to see Cirilla again… it was all wasted. All it took was one stupid, meddling vigilante to ruin it all. It wasn't even the one he was worried about! It was that muggle brat, a mere bug on the sidewalk. How could it be possible that he did this?

Greyback tore at his clothes, ripping them off as his bones began to break and reform, his body contorting into its true form painfully. It had been so long since he fully turned, it hurt. The image of Cirilla dying in his arms flashed through his mind as he saw the horrified vigilante gazing over to him, and Greyback just smiled. He wasn't just going to toy with him… he was to tear him apart, and pick the flesh from his bones, and he was going to be alive for every single second of it.

Diggle had just gotten Laurel and Tommy outside, barely having shut the door behind him when that unholy sound reverberated throughout the building. The hostages turned to the doors with horror as they watched the glass shatter, sending chills down their spines.

"What was that?" Laurel could hear one of the hostages ask.

"Did you hear what that man said… do you think the Red Arrow is really dead?"

"I don't know… the Arrow never denied it."

"Wait, does that mean there's someone stronger than the Red Arrow out there?" all the whispers were making Diggle sweat. He wasn't sure what had all gone down in there, but from the sound of it, Greyback was trying to push Oliver's buttons.

"Diggle, what are you doing here?" Laurel asked, as Diggle turned to face her. "Is Oliver here?"

Uh... is it technically lying if I say no?

"No, he was busy working at the office. He asked me to deliver this personally," Diggle informed her, pulling out a check from his pocket. "He also said he's sorry he couldn't make it, but from the looks of it, I'm almost glad he wasn't able to."

Another howl came from inside the building, and Diggle's bones chilled. Part of him wanted to run in there and help Oliver, but he knew that if he did, more questions would be raised about his reason for being there. He had to stay out here, and from the sounds of the sirens in the distance, it seemed like he wasn't going to have to worry about Oliver being alone for much longer. Now a new concern came over him, would Greyback still be a threat by the time the cops got in there?

"Oliver? Oliver, are you there?" Hermione's voice called out over the comms as Oliver looked to where the werewolf had been only a second earlier, to see the remnants of his clothes falling towards the ground. It was too dark in here now, Oliver couldn't see a damn thing besides the flames. It was the only thing illuminating the plaza, and now Oliver could barely see in front of him. A low growl echoed nearby, making his heartbeat speed up. He couldn't tell where it was coming from as he looked around frantically.

Oliver reached for his bow, grabbing an arrow and aimed at the darkness, hoping to catch a glimpse of something. His hand was shaking as he aimed, trying to collect himself. The clicking of nails tapping the tile floor circled him, and Oliver couldn't help but feel nervous. Why in god's name did he let Greyback transform fully? That was practically a death wish.

"Oliver for the love of, if you can hear me, please say something! Anything!" her voice came through again, making Oliver jerk a little, as all the noise in the room died out. His eyes grew wide as the hairs on the back of his neck stood on end, and hot air hit the back of his hood.

He slowly turned around, and looked up to see blue eyes glowing through the darkness at him. It wouldn't have terrified him as much, but it was how high the eyes were that scared him. Stumbling backwards to his feet, Oliver realized that the beast in front of him had to be at least two feet taller than him. The werewolf's growl reverberated throughout Oliver's entire skeleton, and the vigilante knew that he was utterly screwed. Part of him wished for Harry to show up, but at the same time he wanted to handle this on his own.

If he couldn't handle this, then what was the point of him even wearing the hood to protect Starling City?

"E-easy there, boy… who's a good boy?" Oliver stuttered, backing up as Greyback's wolf form stepped out of the darkness, revealing the wolfman in all his terrifying glory. No wonder he was so infamous, it looked like a grizzly bear had a love child with a wolf…

The eyes stared into his very soul, and it made Oliver's entire body freeze in place. It was like his body had just shut down and he couldn't even breathe. He tried to move, but just couldn't, it was like he was paralyzed now.

The werewolf leaned in close to him, taking a whiff of the air to catch the scent of fear radiating off of him. It made him smile, much to Oliver's dismay.

"Oliver?!"

Oliver isn't here right now, please leave a message after the beep and he'll get back to you shortly, if he doesn't become werewolf chow beforehand.

The vigilante didn't even realize it as the werewolf swung its claws at him, but his body seemed to move on its own, propelling him back out of the way of the attack as the werewolf's claws dug deep into the wall. He knew that if it had hit, that would have been it, Oliver would have been torn to shreds.

Something came to Oliver's mind as he saw Greyback go onto all fours, growling at him. Alright, he's faster, stronger, and more agile than me. I can't beat him hand to hand, and it'll be hard to get him to stay at long range for my bows. If I want to beat him, I'll need to anticipate him and try to get the advantage, no matter how small of one it might be. Down here in the darkness, that's his domain now. He can see in the dark like it's the middle of the day. That means I need to get on my own turf.

He turned quickly to see the stairs were still lit up, but he knew that was going to be risky. That was about a forty foot run, and Greyback was capable of closing the distance in a matter of a few seconds. No matter how fast he ran, Greyback would catch up to him. The only way he'd be able to stay ahead of Greyback was to use the werewolf against himself. How would he do that though?

Greyback's fur was long enough for him to grab a hold of, if he was close enough… Oliver pondered it for a split second, but he knew it was about the best chance he had. Putting the arrow away in his quiver, and collapsing his bow, Oliver prepared himself. Extending the kunai claw (his Scorpion inspired weapon) in his hands, he waited for Greyback to charge at him. When the wolf took its first step towards him, Oliver was already in motion, leaping into the air to dodge a bite, and grabbed the kunai with his other hand and wrapped the chain around Greyback's neck. Landing on him, Oliver tightened the chain's grip and Greyback charged forward.

Talk about the craziest bull ride I've ever been on!Oliver thought to himself, as Greyback tried to get him off, jerking side to side, but the vigilante never wavered as they raced towards the staircase. As the space closed, Oliver made the last second decision to jerk the chain to the right, making the werewolf swerve towards the wall. Oliver leapt from the wolf's back onto the staircase as it went crashing through a door and into a closet. "Okay, that was awesome! Terrifying, but awesome!" He chuckled, feeling dizzy from the jerking motion. He heard Greyback start to recover and grabbed the railing, using his exo-arms to boost his strength to propel himself up the flight of stairs.

For about three floors Oliver climbed, until he heard Greyback roar and the stairs echoed from his steps. When he looked back, (god he shouldn't have looked back) Greyback was running on the walls, circling the stairs like it was nothing.

"Oh come on!" Oliver groaned, running into the corridor. Racing through the offices, Oliver was trying to think of what he could do to get enough time to keep ascending the building so he had his element back. If he could, he'd be able to get some space between him and the werewolf, but it would require him to be in a more open space. Being in tight quarters like this wasn't good. As he came to the end of the corridor, he noticed all the desks beside him and looked at his kunai claw. If he was able to grab the mannequin in the Lair, and Greyback when they first started fighting, maybe he could use it with his exo-arms to act as a whip with an object.

He'd be sure to come up with a better name for this, but Kunai Lasso was the best thing that he came up with in the moment, and waited for Greyback to come launching onto this floor. When he did, Oliver saw that the wolf was far more terrifying than he originally thought. Now in a tight space, Oliver brought his kunai claw out and waited. Greyback seemed to think he was going to pull the same trick as before, standing straight up on its hind legs and raced forward at him. Note to self, bi-pedal Greyback is way more terrifying! Is his mother a freaking Sasquatch?!

Greyback closed in, and Oliver flicked his wrist to the side, impaling the kunai into the desk. Grabbing the chain, Oliver jerked his arm to the right, sending the desk flying into the werewolf. The desk shattered on impact, staggering the wolf, and Oliver grabbed the other desk and lifted it over his head, smashing it against Greyback. The wolf fell backwards, and Oliver leapt over him, racing towards the stairwell once again.

He didn't think about it when he first got in the stairwell, but now that he thought about it a grappling arrow was perfect for his ascent. Pulling his bow out, Oliver slid into the stairwell, shooting the arrow up towards the top of the building. As he glanced back, Greyback was already racing towards him, making the vigilante's eyes grow wide with fear. The arrow connected and Oliver just smiled at Greyback as he went flying up the stairwell, narrowly dodging an attack, just by an inch at that.

His ascent gave him a moment to breathe, letting him relax enough to get on his comms. "Hermione, you there?"

"Bloody hell, you scared me!" Hermione sighed with relief. "What's the situation?"

"Situation? I got an eight foot tall behemoth chasing me right now!"

"Wait, he transformed?!" Hermione asked, shocked that he had actually managed to do it. "I heard that he was capable of turning at will, but… I thought it was a rumor."

"Nope, it's true!" Oliver said, as he heard a growl, realizing it was far too close. Looking down, he saw Greyback was using the technique he had previously been using, propelling himself off the railings to get closer. "Oh shi-!" the werewolf grabbed onto him, shredding the grapnel cable, taking both of them straight through the wall and into a conference room. Oliver landed on the table with a painful crack in his lower back as Greyback landed gracefully on all fours, sliding to a stop.

"Oliver?"

"I'll… I, I'll need to g-get back to you."

He rolled off of the table and onto his stomach. He could see the stairwell from his location, noticing he was only three floors from the roof. If Oliver could just get to the roof, he'd be able to finish this. Oliver went to stand up, but was met with five claws piercing his back. He screamed as he was pinned to the ground.

"Oliver?!" Hermione asked, fear in her voice. Oliver realized his microphone was still active. "Are you okay?!"

"N-n-never… b-better." he groaned as Greyback put his other hand onto Oliver's back and dug his claws into his flesh. Growling in pain, Oliver thought about how there was no easy way out of this position. In one attack Greyback could rip his throat out or even tear his entire head right off of his shoulders. The werewolf lowered its head so Oliver could hear its growl in its entirety, making his eardrum tremble from the volume of the sound. "H-hey, lay off the whole eating people diet, you're heavy…"

"Oh no." was all Hermione said as Greyback growled, bringing his one paw out and slashed Oliver's arm open, making him hiss in pain, although it wasn't as loud as before. His entire body was sore and injured at this point, and Oliver knew that even if he made out of this, he was going to be in bad shape, like Harry post kidnapping shape. God, how could Harry do this on the daily? It didn't matter if you had superhuman healing or a great pain tolerance, this was extreme. He had seen Harry at this level of injury so many times it was far too commonplace. Oliver had never been in this condition. Sure, there were moments where he was pretty injured, but… never quite like this. As if he realized his own mortality in that moment, images of his family flashed through his mind.

"You know… this could be going better," Oliver grunted as Greyback dug in a little deeper. "I'm… I'm sorry."

"What? S-sorry? What are you talking about Ollie?"

"For e-everything. If I had played my cards right, maybe he'd still be here." Oliver sighed, as Greyback tilted his head. The frequency on the comms were being blocked by a strange sound that had caught his attention.

"Fenrir…" a voice called out to him, only audible to the werewolf himself, and Greyback looked around for the source of it.

He knew that voice, but couldn't place it. Oliver groaned as he felt his body weakening. His eyes were becoming heavy now which meant he was running out of steam, and fast. "Don't talk like that." Hermione ordered. She realized why he said that and her heart began racing. "No, you're not dying, Ollie. This is not goodbye. I'm coming to help!"

The one thing that Oliver hated more than anything was having to be helped. He didn't know what he was thinking, apologizing. He wasn't the reason Harry left, even if he liked to believe that he was. He knew why Harry left, and it didn't matter. Harry was gone, and that left him to protect Starling City. Without the Arrow, innocents would die. In that moment, as Oliver's fists clenched and his breathing intensified, images of his family once again flashed through his mind. He couldn't let them down. He had to get up and fight, Greyback couldn't win. This Dark Lord, whoever he was, regardless whether the Red Arrow was here or not, couldn't get Greyback on his side. Oliver needed to make sure Greyback didn't hurt anyone else.

"No," Oliver growled.

"What do you mean, no?! YOU ARE NOT GOING TO DIE!"

"You're right, I'm not… this is not going to be my end, it's going to be HIS!" Oliver roared, pushing against the floor, and the exo-arms let out a mechanical hiss as he launched off the floor with Greyback, bringing the werewolf's attention back to the archer, but not before they went flying through the ceiling. Greyback's claws were torn from Oliver, and the vigilante managed to roll to his feet. The wolf managed to get to its feet as well, and before it could move Oliver raced towards him, uppercutting the werewolf, sending him through the next floor. The vigilante shot his kunai claw at the wolf, connecting and launched to the next floor by retracting the claw, bringing him closer to the werewolf. As he reached Greyback, he unleashed a flurry of punches, staining the werewolf's grey fur with blood. Greyback retaliated, slashing at Oliver, but the vigilante jumped backwards out of the way, rolling to his feet.

The werewolf stood up and went to charge at Oliver, but the vigilante shot the kunai claw onto the floor, and used it to slide underneath him. With his free hand pulled a silver arrow from his quiver and stabbed the wolf's chest, dragging the arrow down his torso, ripping it out as he reached the other side of the beast.

Greyback howled in pain, jumping at Oliver, only to be met with a heavy right hook, sending him crashing into a bookshelf. "You think that you can just come here and do whatever you want because the Red Arrow isn't here?!"

Oliver launched over to Greyback, grabbing him by his fur, and sent him flying through the ceiling straight to the rooftop. "This isn't his city, it's mine!"

As Greyback instantly rolled to his feet, standing up on its hind legs Oliver climbed onto the roof. "I don't care what anyone says. I don't need him to fight my battles! No matter what happens, I'll never stop fighting for them. Anyone comes to Starling City causing problems, they'll answer to me!" Oliver continued unleashing a flurry of punches, but the hits were less effective with each connection. As his last punch went to connect, Greyback caught his fist and broke his hand. Oliver's eyes grew wide as Greyback slashed at his face, cutting through his hood and leaving a gash on his cheek that went from his jaw almost all the way to his eye.

The blood in his right eye was making it hard for him to see anyway but now just having his eye open was hurting from the cut being so close. Oliver glared at Greyback and was met with a punch to the face, then one to the gut. As the wind was knocked out of him, Greyback grabbed him by the throat and slammed him onto the floor, glancing towards the edge of the roof.

Oh no… no, no, no… Oliver thought suddenly, feeling Greyback start to drag him across the rooftop towards the edge. He punched at the werewolf's arm, but it seemed like Greyback was rather unphased by the attack. Oliver watched as the ledge came closer, and in a last ditch effort, pulled out the last four silver arrows he had and stabbed the wolf's bicep to make him let go. As Greyback's grip loosened just enough, Oliver used the last bit of strength he could muster to throw Greyback off of the roof. He managed to do it, and as Oliver was about to sigh in relief, Greyback reached up, biting down onto Oliver's calf to pull him down with the werewolf. The two went soaring down towards the street below. Oliver kicked Greyback off of his leg, and grabbed his bow, shooting a grappling arrow onto the side of the building in order to land safely on the rooftop just below. Oliver rolled onto the rooftop, crashing against a water tower, as Greyback crashed into the alley nearby. Oliver weakly crawled towards the edge of the roof, glancing down at the ground to see Greyback shifting back to human form, only in the shredded remains of his pants. From the looks of it, Greyback wasn't breathing, and Oliver let out a sigh of relief finally as he laid down, groaning in pain.

"Hey, it-it's over…" Oliver groaned into his mic.

"Are you okay?"

"Nothing a couple years of therapy won't fix," Oliver chuckled. Hermione laughed too, but Oliver glanced at his leg and noticed the bleeding injury. Greyback had bitten him, which meant he could become a werewolf himself. He couldn't tell Hermione this right now. "Hey, call Dig… tell him to meet me in the alley a block over. You have my GPS location."

"Alright." Hermione did as she was asked, and as Oliver weakly climbed to his feet, he was shocked to see the door to the roof open up, revealing Laurel.

"L-Laurel?" he asked, his voice modifier still on thankfully. "What are you doing here?" She looked distraught, but it eased upon seeing him standing there.

"I saw you fall. I wanted to make sure you were alright." she explained, stepping forward towards him. "Are you?"

"Depends on how you view 'alright.' I'll live, if that's what you mean," Oliver shrugged, to which Laurel just smiled lightly. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah, thanks to you. How'd you know we were in trouble?"

"I was looking into that man and his gang for a couple days now. They were looking to kill everyone in the plaza for some cult ritual. The only place large enough to hold the people they needed for the ritual was the CNRI fundraiser. I'm just glad I got there when I did."

"We were lucky."

"You should go back, the cops will want your statement. Plus, I don't think your father would want you hanging around a vigilante, right?"

"I suppose you're right… I guess I'll see you around?" Laurel asked, as Oliver just smiled, deciding on something he had been contemplating for a while.

"Yeah… I'll see you soon, Pretty Bird." he smiled at her, before jumping off the building and disappearing. Laurel was about to leave when she realized what he had said, and with shock… she looked towards where he had been just a moment ago.

"O-Ollie?"

In the alleyway, Fenrir Greyback was gone… disappeared into a cloud of black smoke.

Guys, this was probably not just my favorite chapter to write, but quite possibly my favorite fight to have ever written, and keep in mind, there are a lot of stories I've written that are no longer posted on here, each with their own unique fights. My co-author, DylantheDemon, yes, he is officially the co-author after a long period of him helping me with ideas on this project, was the key to making this chapter what it was.

Honestly, this entire chapter took one full day to write, with cooperation between Dylan and I formulating the plan for this chapter. Now, I'm not too sure how many of you guessed what happened with this chapter, but I was aware of some discussions, and many of the reviews, (before I go any further, 50 reviews on our 50th chapter, yeah... that's awesome. Not to mention the huge spike in reviews hitting the story this week. That was insane to see, and I'm not too sure where you guys came from, but I appreciate literally all of you!) that seemed to speculate that Harry would come in and save Oliver. I did say that Harry would not be coming into Oliver's story for this episode, and the next one. Harry isn't a part of Oliver's story currently, and from a standpoint I had to say that the decision to get Harry out of the spotlight and make him a shadow was a little tough.

Like many of you guys, Harry is one of, if not my favorite character to write for this story, just because of his character's style. His fights, dialogue, and overall backstory in this universe makes it so much fun to write for him, but to do what Dylan and I wanted with Oliver's character, we had to put Harry on the sideline in order to give Oliver the development he desperately needed.

For the villain of this episode we had to make it one worthy of fighting Harry, but capable of being beaten by Oliver, albeit one that would push Oliver to his limit. I had been wanting to bring Greyback in, as he is the smaller fish in the pond for what Season 1's overall arc is going to build to... but regardless, bringing Greyback in, it was always part of the plan. Maybe not exactly how we intended originally, but I'm proud of how we had Greyback show up. Keep in mind, Greyback is not gone. He's still got a story to tell, so you'll see him again soon enough. It was actually Dylan's idea for Greyback's backstory, so any applause for that, has to go to him.

Speaking of which, Dylan would like to thank all of you who mentioned him in the reviews for last chapter, it really meant a lot to him, and me too. Also, big thing we noticed was that some of you guys, started referring to this universe as the Arsenalverse. While, I don't like the idea of it being called that as sounds kinda, I don't know, like I got a big ego, but I think we'll stick with it!

To the one person who managed to guess pretty much what happened for the last two chapters, good job. I'm actually shocked you managed to figure it out. And now, that brings me to the last second reveal!

Laurel finding out, it was meant to be a direct homage to something, can you guys tell me what it was? If you do, leave it in a review! I'm curious to see if you guys pick up on the reference!

SO HERE'S WHERE I JUST GOTTA ASK. WHAT DID YOU ALL THINK OF THE FIGHT, THE OUTCOMES, AND JUST ANYTHING THAT MIGHT HAVE PEAKED YOUR INTEREST?! Let me know! We'll be back with the conclusion to episode seven real soon!
