Hey everyone. I wanted to thank you all before you read this chapter. There are only a few more updates before this story is over. I feel like I have written to a pretty good ending point. I want to move on to other ideas. I appreciate everyone who has stayed with me through this story. It has definitely been a joy to write and I have loved reading all of the reviews and feedback. So here we go, what does Mr. Torres have to do with anything?

Chapter 54

Callie fidgeted nervously. She was pacing back and forth in front of the door for ten minutes. It was killing her. The silence was deafening. She couldn't take it anymore. Finally, after mustering up the courage she turned the knob and walked into her friend's office.

Amber was sitting at her desk typing on her computer. She looked up to see who had just entered. She gave Callie a small smile and returned to her work. Callie had had enough. She needed to know. 'Are you mad at me?' she asked suddenly.

Amber finished typing what she was working on and removed her glasses. She turned to look at her friend. She was a bit puzzled. 'No…why?'

'Because it has been three days since… you know, and you haven't really talked to me. You haven't talked to anyone really.' Callie said as she sat in the other chair in the office. 'I'm not sure how you are feeling about anything.'

'I don't know what to feel Callie. I don't know if he said that to start drama, or if your dad got to him. I have no idea. But I am not mad at you.' Amber said.

'Are you sure?'

'Callie, let me tell you something…You have been my absolute best friend for eight years. You have never once left my side. I have grown to think of you as family. Better family than some of my own flesh and blood. My brothers have their lives and are not around. My mom is… my mom. It's been me and you for eight years. And in those eight years, you have been my constant. You have been my shoulder to cry on, an ear to listen, you have cared for my kids, the list goes on. I'm not mad at you.' Amber explained. 'Unless, you know why he said what he said?'

'No! I have no idea why he would say my dad's name. I wasn't exactly on speaking terms with my dad. He'll be here later tonight. I am going to ask him what Tyler would have meant by what he said. I'm going to get to the bottom of this.'

'Can I be there?'

'Absolutely.'

'Ok. My mind is racing trying to figure everything out. I want answers. My brain is coming up with a million and five scenarios. I can't shut it off. That's why I've been quiet. I'm sorry.' Amber said.

'You don't have to apologize. I get it. It was just driving me crazy to think that you were upset with me.' Callie said.

'I'm not mad. I just hope you're not mad at me for what I have done.' Amber said seriously.

Later that evening, Callie and Amber were sitting in the living room having a glass of wine. They needed some liquid courage. Mr. Torres was expected to arrive at any moment. Arizona had taken the kids up the hill just in case things got heated. No one knew exactly what was going to happen. What Carlos was going to reveal to them.

The doorbell rang and Callie went to answer the door. Amber took the wine glasses to the kitchen, glancing at the mantle before she left the room. Red light. It was recording.

'Calliope! Mija. So good to see you.' Carlos said. He stepped forward to give his daughter a hug, but Callie backed up.

'Daddy, Come in. There's something important that I want to talk to you about.'

'What is it Calliope? Is Arizona ok? The kids? Where are they?'

'They're fine, Daddy. Come into the living room.'

They sat down opposite each other. Callie took a deep breath and opened her mouth to speak. 'Do you know Tyler Robbins, Daddy?'

'No, Mija. I have never heard that name before in my life. Is it someone from Arizona's family?' Carlos asked.

Amber came out from the back of the house. 'Mr. Torres, with all due respect. I don't believe that for a second.'

Carlos turned at the new voice. 'I…uh…Do you dare question me? Who the hell are you?'

'Amber Grey, Callie's best friend, but you already know who I am. Don't play dumb. And a little birdy told me that you and Tyler do, in fact, know each other. Please drop the act and just tell us what we want to know.'

'I don't know what you are talking about.' Carlos said shifting his eyes between the two women.

'Here's something that might help your memory then, Mr. Torres. I hired a private investigator. This private investigator was able to access records to a bank account that I did not even know existed when I was married to Mr. Robbins. And do you know what they found?' Amber paused to give the man a chance to explain. 'They found checks from you Carlos Torres to Tyler Robbins dating back about seven years ago. Back when Tyler had just started dating me. So why does he have those checks?' she sat down next to Callie on the couch.

Something flipped in Carlos. 'You…you disgusting woman! You corrupted my sweet Calliope.'

'Excuse me?' the women asked at the same time.

'I saw you. I saw you all over her.' Carlos hissed.

Flashback

'We aced that test, Cal. We need to celebrate.' Amber said. 'Let's get a bottle of tequila and go back to our room. We can do body shots.'

'Oh yes. Let's do that.'

Amber hooked her arm into Callie's as they started to head off campus. The women entered the liquor store that was around the corner from their dorm room and got a cheap bottle for the evening's activities.

Their dorm was on the third floor and was very crowded. They got into the elevator and had to press close together. When the elevator dinged for the third floor, Callie grabbed Amber's hand and pulled her towards their room. Amber wrapped her arm around Callie as she fumbled to get the key into the lock.

'Hurry up, Callie. I'm kinda thirsty.' she said into the Latina's ear as she lightly grazed the side of her breast.

Callie finally got the door opened and they threw their bags into the corner of the room. Amber kicked the door shut with her foot and started kissing Callie deeply. What they didn't realize was that the door did not latch fully and was cracked ever so slightly. Amber pulled Callie's shirt over her head and pushed her down onto the bed and grabbed the tequila bottle from the table.

Opening the bottle, she positioned it over her friend's belly button and poured some of the liquid over Callie's body. She dipped her head and drank. She kissed her way up Callie's stomach, back up to her face, and straddled the other woman. Callie sat up and pulled Amber's shirt off of her. Amber tilted the bottle and poured the tequila into Callie's mouth. Their lips met again as they slid their tongues together tasting the tequila in each other's mouth.

Carlos was on his way to make a surprise visit to see his daughter. He had a meeting in town. He wanted to catch up and to possibly take Callie out for a nice meal. When he got closer to her dorm room, he noticed that the door was not closed completely. His protective parenting instincts kicked in, and he slowly opened the door expecting the worst. What he saw when the door opened shook him to his very core. There was his beloved Calliope in a fierce makeout session with another woman! He knew at that moment that he needed to save his daughter. He quickly darted from the doorway pulling the door back with him. He had to come up with a plan.

The door bumped the doorjamb and got the attention of the preoccupied women. 'I guess I didn't shut that completely. Don't want anyone to see what we are going to do in here.' Amber got off of the bed and shut the door. She flipped the lock to make sure they were not interrupted again.

End of Flashback

'You see? You corrupted my sweet Calliope. She was raised Catholic. She would never sin like that. Love is between a man and a woman!' Carlos yelled.

'Daddy, what the hell?! She did not corrupt me! She wasn't even the first woman I have slept with.' Callie said.

Carlos's eyes widened in shock. 'Calliope…'

'No do not Calliope me. I thought you changed Daddy. I thought you liked Arizona. And you still haven't answered the question of the money to Tyler. Explain!' Callie yelled.

Carlos took a deep breath. It was time that Callie knew the truth. 'After witnessing that… sinful behavior, I had to do something. I went to a nearby restaurant to come up with a plan. That is where I found Mr. Robbins. He was getting something to eat and we got to talking. I told him that I would pay good money for him to entertain your roommate so that I can make you see the light Calliope. Everyone has a price and Mr. Robbins was more than happy to help me out. For cheaper than I thought too.'

'You PAID him to date her? What the hell is wrong with you? She's a person. You don't do that to someone!' Callie got up from the couch and started pacing the room. Amber sank back into the couch. She was shocked. Her whole marriage, hell her whole relationship to Tyler, had been a sham. Every moment.

'And what about Arizona, Daddy? What were you going to do with her? Pay someone to break us up. Guess what Daddy? That's not going to happen! We are married. Forever!'

'I am a very powerful man Calliope. I can make anything happen. Ms. Robbins could one day simply disappear.' Carlos said calmly.

'WHAT? Who the fuck are you? You are not my father. What kind of sick, twisted shit have you been a part of?'

'When I saw the two of you, I wanted to take you home, Calliope. I could have saved you. Instead, you pushed me away. When your mother and your sister told me that you were having the twins, I saw an opportunity, Calliope. I saw the opportunity to save you and your children. All I had to do was gain your trust. That idiot Robbins had to ruin it by running his mouth.' Carlos growled.

'I was NEVER going to go back to Miami with you. Whether we were on speaking terms or not. I have a life here. A life with Arizona. My work is here, my friends are here. It wasn't going to happen Daddy. I. Will. Not. Leave.' Callie said firmly.

'ARE YOU NOT LISTENING TO ME? I can make things happen. I am powerful! You wouldn't have had a choice. Your…wife would never be found, and you would be in Miami. Those children would be raised the right way. Not in some…lesbian dream world where they think this behavior is acceptable!' Carlos said rising to his feet.

'Lesbian dream world? A world where my kids are brought up by love and acceptance? That dream world? Where they are free to love whoever they want? That dream world? Times are different now, we don't have to hide who we love anymore. We don't have to live to serve our husbands. We can choose who we want to love. There's NOTHING wrong with that life, Daddy.' Callie said meeting her father face to face.

'I don't want to hear this. You are living in…' Carlos started.

'Oh you don't want to hear about it Daddy? You don't want to hear how gooood it feels to have my wife driving her fingers in and out of me? You don't want to hear how I bury my head between her legs until she screams my name? You don't want to hear how we wear a..' Callie was cut off by Carlos's hand striking her cheek.

'Callie!' Amber jumped up off of the couch and put herself between Carlos and his daughter.

The front door busted open moments later and in came a team of police officers. They handcuffed the older man and read him his Miranda rights as they escorted him out the door and into the waiting patrol car. The captain walked up to the Latina who was still holding her cheek. 'Ma'am, do you want to press charges against your father?'

Callie slowly nodded her head up and down. She was still in shock. She was in utter disbelief. Her father had never struck her before. Her cheek was burning and she was sure it left a mark.

'Ok, we got everything we needed on the camera. It was very brave of you to stand up to him like that.' the police officer squeezed the woman's shoulder before grabbing the camera that was set up on the mantle and leaving with the rest of his team.

Amber turned back to her friend. 'Are you ok, Cal?'

Callie broke down and pulled Amber into a tight hug. 'I…I am so sorry Amber. My own father! I am so sorry for what he did.'

Amber ran her hand up and down Callie's back. 'It's not your fault Callie. We're ok. It's going to be ok.'

It took awhile before the women calmed down enough to walk up the hill to Amber's house where their wives were waiting for them. Amber opened the door and allowed Callie to enter first. Arizona stood quickly and raced over to her wife. 'Oh, Calliope. We heard everything. Are you ok, Sweetie?'

'No…I don't know.' Callie said quietly.

Lexie grabbed her wife's wrist and pulled her further into the house. 'What about you?' she asked sweeping some hair out of Amber's face.

'I just found out that my whole relationship with him was not real, but I have two very real reminders of it looking up at me every single day. I can't…I just…' Amber broke down in her wife's arms. Callie couldn't hold the tears back anymore either. The four women stood in the living room and cried. What more could they do?
