Monoma
I knew that the naive Ibara was applying to be on par with the overrated of the Heroes' Course, but what I never imagined is that those were also Shinso's aspirations, although considering how often he talked to the freckled greenette boy, and in especially with the walking volt, it was not surprising.
Even though he hadn't told me anything, I imagine that, for the reasons mentioned above, I couldn't help but be worried about him. After being welcomed by Professor Aizawa as his pupil, he had undergone arduous training that, although it had favored him, subjected him to long hours, which made the dark circles under his eyes even deeper.
– Hello Shinso – when I sat next to him in the library, I could tell that he was tense. – Is something wrong?
– No ... – obviously yes
– Really? So, why are you so uptight? – placing my hands on his shoulders to give him a massage
– I guess I have a lot to think about – without looking away from his book.
He had started talking to Shinso shortly after the Sports Festival, when I couldn't believe that with such a fascinating quirk as mind control, he was in general studies class, hanging out with people who could never match his potential. Thinking of all the deficiencies to which he would have had to adapt because he was not evaluated properly, only made me rethink the evaluation methods that the U.A. Academy used to decide who has what it "takes" to belong to the heroes' course and who doesn't, especially because of the amalgam of superfluous people who now occupy that position.
– Why are you trying so hard?
– It's what is expected of us, isn't it? – his shoulders were giving way to tension.
– You should take a day off – At this point, I was already standing behind him. From this perspective, it was evident that so much training had increased his muscle mass, making his back appear wider. It was nice to feel my hands in contact with him, even if they were only hampered by the fabric of his uniform. – Let's go out this afternoon.
– I'm not in the mood – shaking his head sideways; my massage was emerging effect.
– Come on ... – I insisted, this time getting a little closer to his ear. There was a subtle minty smell to it. – It will do you good to get some fresh air... – softening my voice. – Let's go out this afternoon...
– Hi Shinso! – and so the strident voice of the last person I wanted to see, was heard from the entrance of the library, causing a start in the boy on whom my hands were still clinging
– Hello Kaminari – even his tone of voice changed. The childish moron approached us accompanied by the tape dispenser.
– Ah! The most excellent class of heroes – I snapped sarcastically – To what do we owe this exalted honor?
– Thanks for the welcome, Monoma – commented the smiling black–haired guy, showing that he and the volt share the same neuron. Isn't it obvious that it was sarcasm?
– Monoma, the library is freely accessible. – Shinso commented mockingly. – That's the same reason why you can also enter. – turning to look at me. Those purple eyes were my weakness. – Excuse me, he is usually friendly, very, very deep down – emphasizing the second "very"
– Don't worry, I understand that there are those who like to be territorial with what they like. – The black–haired stupid gave me a shrewd look. – I never imagined you would enjoy being in the library so much, Monoma. – I didn't like the way he pronounced my name. – It's like you don't want anyone else to come near.
– For exactly the same reason I intend to propose the restriction of certain specimens – my eyes darted from one to another of the pair of idiots
– Like you? – asked the mallow-haired boy
– We didn't want to interrupt. – You just did it. – I just came to keep Serobro company.
– Don't pretend – the aforementioned approached the shorter one – Kamibro also said that he wanted to take some textbooks because seeing you try so hard, motivates him to improve. – Referring to Shinso feeling how his chest rose at the statement.
– Sero! – trying to get rid of him
– I'm glad to be such a good influence – it was the first time all day that I had seen him smile, causing the yellow to return the gesture
– Well, you shouldn't waste any more time – leaning on the table between the two of them – Although not even reading all the books in the library will be the best. Never!
– Where will Kendo be when needed? – Shinso lamented, but I had got what he wanted.
– I was glad to see you, Shinso. – said the electrician – See you later. – going next to each other
– Was it so difficult to be a little nicer?
– As your friend, I keep out any distractions – bending down to be close to him
– If so, I wouldn't be talking to you – getting up from his seat, heading to the exit.
– Shinso! – He stopped – You have much more potential than anyone of that class. – I had always noticed it, and if it hadn't been for that useless entrance exam, I'm sure we would at least share the same classroom.
– Thank you – turning around, not before showing a subtle smile.
– Stop it! – Was the voice of the volt, accompanied by childish laughter. He was trying to reach one of the books that the tallest one was balancing on his head.
How is it possible that such a pair of idiots were part of the most promising class in the entire academy?

Listening to feedback from the older students, I learned that in a few days the test would be conducted to determine if students from other courses met the requirements for class 1A. Although considering the members of such an insignificant group, I can't imagine why anyone would want to share air with that score of overrated people. During this time and shortly after, and between my duties as a student, I could hardly ever see Shinso who after class, secluded himself in his room.
It was a few days later that I heard from Ibara's group of friends that, unlike her, Shinso had managed to pass the exam to belong to the Heroes' Course, which made me feel a deep heaviness in my stomach. Thinking that he would be rubbing shoulders with that bland ball now only increased my repudiation of them.
That Friday morning, I had been looking for the mallow-haired boy in most of the school without success, except around the administration building. So, once I approached Director Nezu's office, I could see that he was indeed accompanied by the little man and Prof. Aizawa. I took cover behind one of the walls, as I watched them in the distance. The two older ones headed in the opposite direction from the boy, while he approached my direction. I slipped into the stairwell, where at the foot of it he stopped to dial his cell phone.
– Kaminari, do you have time? – Are you planning to tell him the scoop? Before me? My chest suddenly felt tight, and an intense burning in the pit of my stomach overwhelmed me – I wanted to see you to tell you something – again, his voice always softened when he spoke to him. – Okay, see you in the training area. – Descending the stairs.
I cannot assure that the discomfort and heaviness I felt allowed me to think clearly. If I couldn't be someone, he wanted to tell the "good news" to, then neither would be the walking volt. I took a shortcut, jumping from behind the building, after having touched the invisible when she was accompanied by the girl with headphones on her way to the infirmary; I guess assuming such high expectations for those who barely cannot stay out of trouble must have been exhausting
While the effect of the quirk was still in effect, I was hiding behind a tree and as I assumed, shortly afterwards Shinso had arrived. His hand was on the back of his neck, which meant he was anxious; eager to see the stupid Pokémon.
– Hello Shinso – coming out of my hiding place. – You've been a bit elusive lately.
– Monoma – and that tone of voice confirms it to me – What are you doing here?
– Can't I say hi to my friend? – a few meters from him
– You see, now I'm a little busy... – or rather, tense. – We can talk later another time
– Why? Is something wrong? – trying to hide my frustration
– No ... It's just that now I can't talk to you now. Excuse me. – turning his back on me
– When were you going to tell me that you were admitted to the Heroes' Course?! – I didn't think I sound so angry, but my emotions got the better of me
– I didn't think it was something you wanted to hear – turning in my direction
– Why would it be? – Getting closer to him – Being admitted to class 1A is nothing more than evidence that you are only valued if you are there
– If you were really my friend as you say, you'd be happy for me. – I was angry. – Much more now that I will be part of that group whom you devalue so much. – And hearing him affirm that only added to my discomfort, but maybe I could appeal to his kinder side.
– I just want to spend more time with you – and it was true. – If only you had managed to enter course 1B ...
– Nothing has to change, if you wish. – Calmer. – We can train together.
– I doubt you can, if you plan to spend more time with your new class
– Why does it bother you so much?
– I already told you! – I didn't expect to be so upset – I'd rather be in course 1B than with those idiots – and as if it were an invocation, I could see its maximum exponent approaching in the distance
– Shinso! – yelled the last person who I wanted to see, causing the muscles of the named to tense, when he turned in the direction of the origin. My emotions were running high, and if him had no intention of seeing me again, it would make him remember me for longer.
– Shinso – I said with subtlety, taking him by the arm
– Monoma is not... – there is no going back
– Kiss Me. – The effect of my quirk barely lasted five minutes, ten if I reached my limit, but that time was more than enough for my purposes.
The mallow-haired boy turned stiffly toward me, as if he was fighting the ravages of his own quirk. I pulled him even closer to me, placing his arms around my waist, while his face showed the frustration of not being able to avoid it. Once I made sure that the aforementioned was close enough, I pressed my lips with those of who was now under my control. They were much softer than I would have ever imagined them, and I would be lying if I said I was not fully enjoying it. He turned his head with slow movements as my fingers, as they would never be able to do it again, played with the hair at the nape of his neck, at the same time that I no longer perceived how the sound of the approaching footsteps faded. I felt a slight resistance from his hands on my waist, but not enough to pull me away.
Just over six feet away, the walking volt was standing behind us. Contemplating us, inert and without making the slightest noise, indisputably surprised and even dismayed. My repellent eyes were the last thing he saw before he walked away from there as quickly as possible, while I enjoyed the last minute of this one kiss.
– What is your fucking problem?! – Separating from me abruptly. Knowing that with the volatile state he was in, he would use his quirk on me if I dared to make any kind of sound, I remained silent before he stepped away, irate.
Knowing that this would be the last time he wanted to see me again, it should be reason to get even less close to his now classmates. However, I can't help but feel overwhelmed by the cold breeze whipping the streams of tears that now cover my face wondering if it was really worth it.
If there is something Horikoshi has, it is his incredible ability to give depth even to the background characters, like Monoma (not so much, but you got it) that is why I wanted to give him a part in this story and, don't worry, it will not be the last time you will read about him.
Fact # 55
I love how I wrote Sero. He's so shrewd, perfect for a distracted person like Kaminari.
