Kagome smiled at the customer even as she wrapped up his order and placed it carefully in the bag. "Thank you and please come again!" The customer smiled and left, leaving Kagome with her friends.
Sango stirred a bowl of melted chocolate behind her, even as Miroku munched on his own chocolate. "I think everything is going to work out just fine," she said cheerfully, moving to take the spoon and bowl form her friend before it was over stirred.
Miroku raised a brow as his wife came to lean beside him. "Kagome-chan…you barely know the man. Are you sure this is a good idea?" he asked gently, wrapping an arm around his woman.
As the older out of the two girls, Sango felt it was her job to chime in. Besides, Kagome was like a sister to her. "Last time we talked to you about him you were so angry you just about paced holes in our carpet. Are you sure he isn't just trying to play you?"
Kagome frowned as she poured chocolate into molds, thinking about what they were saying. The truth was, she didn't know. "I honestly can't tell you for sure that he's not. I can't read him like I can most people." She set the bowl down and turned to face her friends, a small smile tilting her lips. "But I have to trust him, or rather, I want to. I'm so tired of second guessing every single person that comes into my life. For the first time in years I'm ready to trust someone again and it turns out he's the person I want to trust."
Deep brown eyes closing on a weary sigh, Sango offered up a small smile. "Alright then. But we ran a background check on him. The file is in your purse."
Blue eyes widened and she looked from one to the other in uncertain frustration. "Guys…
Miroku smiled at her and moved forward to press a gentle kiss to her forehead. "Let us worry for you Kagome. This time, let us take care of you."
Her heart softened and she leaned into him, wrapping her arms around him in a grateful hug. "Okay. Okay. I can't promise I'll read it, but thank you for looking out for me."
