Meg had reached the Vale. She saw some knights with falcons on their shields and recognized the symbol of House West.
She approached them. "I'm Meg Griffin. Can you take me to my Aunt Carol?"
The lead knight raised his eyebrows. "Meg Griffin? Everyone in the seven kingdoms thought you were dead!"
"Well, I'm not," said Meg.
So, they took her up the mountain and brought her to Carol's castle. Carol didn't recognize Meg at first. She hadn't seen her in years, and Meg was still covered in dirt and wearing boy's clothes.
"Who is this?" Carol asked.
"She claims she's your niece Meg," one of the knights said.
Carol raised her eyebrows. "Meg Griffin? Lois's daughter? She doesn't look much like a highborn lady."
"Oh, that's Meg, all right," said a voice. Meg turned around to see Quagmire entering the room. "I'd know her anywhere."
Meg glared at Quagmire. "What are you doing here?"
Carol lifted her hand and showed the new ring on her finger. "Glen is my husband now. We were just married. Well, if he says you're who you say you are, I'm willing to take him at his word. Welcome to the Eyrie."

Joffrey, his wife Margaery, Jaime, and some knights stood over Tywin's corpse. The guards who discovered the body had placed Tywin back on his bed, but left the arrow in him.
"The Imp must have done this!" Joffrey declared. "He killed my grandfather, just like he killed my mother!"
"Yeah," Margaery said nervously. "It was totally Tyrion who killed your mother. Not anyone else."
Jaime was too stunned to speak. He wouldn't have let Tyrion out if he knew he was gonna do this.
Joffrey turned to Osmund Kettleblack, Osney and Osfryd's brother. "Where's Lord Varys?"
"We already searched the castle for Varys," said Osmund. "He's nowhere to be found."
"He must have been my uncle's accomplice!" said Joffrey. "I want them both found! And then I want them killed! They're probably still hiding in the city somewhere!"
He stepped outside into the hall. Once he was alone, the look of anger on his face shifted into a smile. Really, the Imp had done him a favor. They called Joffrey king, but until now his mother and his grandfather had been running things. Now they were both dead. Tyrion was gone. Even Varys and Quagmire had left. For the first time, there was no one to tell Joffrey what to do! He was ruler of the seven kingdoms in fact as well as in name now.
He went back to his room and changed into the striped shirt that Tywin had refused to let him wear on the day of the wedding. "No one can stop me from wearing this now," he muttered.
