Kick and Kendall didn't really tell the others about their relationship. Although they enjoyed spending more time together, being that Kick nor Gunther focused much that first week of the new semester. The girls didn't mind spending some alone time with the boys and getting them back on track and a bit ahead for once so that they didn't have to worry about a repeat of the previous semester.
Each couple even had a date that they enjoyed that next weekend after Kick and Kendall got together, which as another week and half passed from that dancing event, Jackie and Kendall couldn't help but talk about their dates, especially Kendall's, in the girls' locker room as they were changing for their gym class. They were laughing quietly to themselves as they discussed the details.
"Was it really that fun?" Jackie asked.
"Oh it was more than just fun." Kendall felt her cheeks redden. "I didn't know he was such…such a romantic…" She bit her lip, letting out a small sigh. Jackie raised an eyebrow at her.
"Really, and how's that?" She questioned.
"He's just…everything was just really…the mood, the atmosphere, all of it..." Kendall was blushing more thinking about, as she was really happy. She finished putting on her gym clothes for class. Jackie smiling at her.
"Having a private date with him was everything you dreamed it be?" Jackie had a small giggle.
"Better." Kendall responded, as Jackie also finished putting on her clothes. "So much better. The picnic, the movie under the stars…it was just us, just romantic and amazing." Kendall couldn't help remember the date, being that it only happened a few days prior. Jackie had a small smile at her.
"I'm glad to hear." She commented as they placed their bags and books in their lockers, closing them.
"As am I." Brianna came in as she was ease-dropping a bit. "Although my brother still has a few things to learn about dating." She chuckled. Both girls glanced at her with smiles.
"Brianna." Kendall stared at her, giggling a little. Brianna only shrugging.
"Although, finding out some of your girl's little secrets is beginning to be fun." Both girls' faces growing red as Kendall shot a look at Jackie.
"Again, I said nothing…" Jackie reiterated.
"I will tell Gunther some things just you wait." Kendall told her.
"Don't you dare, or else Kick finds out more." Jackie pointed.
"Ah, excuse me, I better find out all of these things, before either of those fools know a thing." Brianna had a sly expression, placing her arms around them.
"Brianna!" Both girls blushed more as they looked at her. Brianna laughed at them.
"What?" She questioned. "Don't think you girls are going to be keeping all your little secrets from me now." She added. "Besides I deserve to know." She giggled.
"I think I rather keep it between us." Jackie lightly laughed. "Less embarrassing."
"Agreed." Kendall said. "Besides your Kick's sister." She added also giggling. Brianna pouted.
"I find that unfair." She stated. "And like I tell that idiot anything." She waved as they all started to walk out. The girls only laughing at Brianna. Their class was waiting for their teacher to give out more instructions, as they stood about in the gym. Their friends leaning against some of the put away bleachers and adjacent walls, talking as they headed over.
"Are we waiting on something?" Jackie wondered as they were all together. Kick and Gunther didn't look too happy. The girls noticed. "Something up?"
"I don't like the next unit." Kick folded his arms.
"Same. It's stupid." Gunther agreed. Brianna rolled her eyes at them.
"Personally we see no problem with the unit." Nicolette commented.
"Yeah, it's a fun unit, there's nothing wrong with it." Loraina added.
"What's the unit?" Kendall asked as she was curious.
"Dance." Both boys had a look as they responded, which caused both girls to look at each other and almost laugh. Although, they weren't good at hiding it as they were busting up at them.
"You guys don't want to dance?" Kendall questioned glancing at Kick, still trying to hold back her laughs.
"It's more or less the reason for the unit." Kick replied.
"Yeah, we're being taught how to dance because of Gordie's stupid Valentine's Day Ball thing that he hosts." Gunther was annoyed.
"Ohh." Jackie understood now. "That makes sense, because even I was about to say." She still had a few chuckles.
"We like to dance, on our own terms." Kick told them, which he did a slight look at Kendall with the comment, a small smirk on his lips, causing her to blush a bit as she looked away. "Just don't want to learn to dance for something stupid like that ball." He added.
"Still think it might be fun." Nicolette chimed in. "Could learn some new techniques." She mentioned.
"Depends on his partner." Scarlet brought up as she noticed how Kick and Kendall were, giving Kick a sly look, as she was happy he was with her now. "They need to be able to keep up with each other." She chuckled. He rolled his eyes.
"Yeah, well it also depends on who we're all partnered with." Teena commented. "I am not happy about the fact the coach and who ever this guest person they're bringing in, are picking out who we are partnered with for this whole unit." She folded her arms.
"True, that could lead to some bad things happening." Loraina agreed.
"Or it could lead to some fun on the dance floor." Nicolette snickered. "I mean dancing to some is just dirty…"
"Nicolette." Brianna interrupted her before she could finish that sentence, the boys laughing at that, which Brianna shot them a look. Teena and Scarlet also laughing at them.
"Just saying." Nicolette spoke.
"Well so long as Ronaldo isn't here, I'm good." Kendall shrugged it off, noting to his absence.
"I know." Jackie nodded, a thought coming to her. "Did they say how they were going to pair us up?"
"No." Teena was a bit mad at that. "Said to wait for this guest person and then we be assigned our partners."
"Huh…" Kendall thought about it.
They were brought out of their conversation by their teacher, Coach Warren bringing them together in the gym, and Mr. Vickle standing next to her. The boys still didn't like this unit, although they could tell Gordie was all overjoyed about it. Which got them more annoyed as they rolled their eyes.
"Alright class, I have with me Mr. Vickle." She pointed to him. "As stated previously, and in our syllabus, for the next three and half weeks we will be doing a dance unit for the Valentine's Day Dance." She added.
"My Valentine's Day Dance." Gordie had to remind everyone, which only irritated the boys more, even Brianna and the others had a look when he interrupted.
"Right…" Their teacher let out a breath. "Anyway, I will be giving out the pairs, and once I do, Mr. Vickle will help out in some instructions." She continued. "However, given that some of you are quite advanced in this area of ballroom technique," She brought up. "It was advised by Mr. Vickle that you be helpers in getting your fellow students learn ballroom dancing." She instructed them. "That said, these helpers will be, Kendall Perkins and Jackie Wackerman for the girls." Both girls were a bit surprised by that.
"I guess being elegant pays off." Brianna whispered with her laugh as she told them.
"And for the boys, Gordie Gibble and Kick Buttowski." Coach Warren finished. Kick had a curious look at that.
"I think they got that wrong." Kick folded his arms.
"Yeah mister chaos." Scarlet remarked. "I don't think you know a thing about ballroom dance."
"Well we kinda do." Gunther said. "But chaos is definitely more up his alley."
"Hey…" Kick gave him a look.
"Isn't it?" Gunther raised an eyebrow.
"Uh…well, yeah." Kick relented. They laughed, even Kendall giggled.
"That said Kick, Kendall, you two will pair up." Mr. Vickle smiled. "I'm sure we'll see something marvelous like we did when you guys were younger." Kendall blushed hearing that. "And Gordie, you pair up with Jackie." Mr. Vickle instructed.
"WHAT?!" Jackie, Gordie and Gunther exclaimed, as they all were surprised and had their own mixed feelings about this, along with Kick and the others as they couldn't believe it.
"I object to this!" Gordie shouted. "I am not pairing up with wacky…" Gunther glared at him.
"No if's, ands, or, ors about this." Their teacher interrupted. "We made the pairs and you will both do this unit together." She pointed. "That or take an F, no exceptions what so ever." She narrowed her eyes at Gordie who let out a breath, as he folded his arms.
"Can I take the F…?" Jackie whispered. Kendall looked at her with shock, while the others had to laugh at bit, although Gunther was still pissed. The teacher and Mr. Vickle switching off as they read off some more pairs.
"Jackie." Kendall wanted to try and comfort her.
"I don't want to dance with him…ugh I don't like this." She commented.
"It's only three and half weeks, for like maybe forty minutes a day." Kendall was seriously trying to help her. "You got this." Jackie was just getting more annoyed.
"Sure…although that F is looking better and better." She stated.
"I'm with Kends." Brianna told her. "Plus we're right here, won't let anything happen." Brianna tried to encourage. "Don't let him ruin those amazing grades of yours." Jackie let out a breath.
"Sure…" She really didn't like this. "This better end quickly."
"Yeah tell me about it." Gunther agreed, not liking this anymore than she was.
"So the last few pairs." They listened to Mr. Vickle. "Howie and Tess, Emo Ki…I mean Ryan and Scarlet." He corrected himself.
"This should be interesting." Scarlet glanced at her partner with some amusement. Kick eyed her suspiciously with that, as did Brianna.
"Nicolette and Daniel, Brianna and Mouth." Coach Warren read off a few more pairs, which Nicolette got pissed as she didn't like who she was paired up with either, Eli trying to comfort her, given that most of them were not paired up with who they wanted to be with.
"And lastly Gunther and Teena." Mr. Vickle listed. They glanced at each other, while Jackie glanced behind her then forward. 'Figures…' She trailed before trying to shake the thought again, Kendall noticing, but not saying anything. "Alright with all of you assigned to your partners, get together and let's start the basic steps."
"I really hate this." Jackie did not want to go near Gordie, however he came to her, as Gunther and Teena stayed close, as did Kick and Kendall. She rolled her eyes, not wanting to be around him.
"Look wacky…" He started.
"It's Jackie." She countered. "My name is Jackie." She corrected him. 'That F seriously is calling my name.' She thought. He let out another breath.
"Jackie, then." He rolled his eyes as well. "Look we don't like each other and I really don't want to be your partner."
"Feeling is mutual." Jackie commented, glancing away, seeing that Gunther and Teena were trying out the basic steps. She let out a breath, she could hear the small whispers from the other classes and even some fellow classmates about them looking good together.
"Point is, I don't want to fail and I don't think you do either." He added. "So let's just get this over with, alright?" He held out his hand to her. She glanced back at him, letting another sigh.
"Fine…" She placed her hand in his. "But I still don't like this." She told him. He pulled her closer, so they were in the right position, which she narrowed her eyes at him, not liking being this close to him.
"I don't eith…." He started to say as they began to dance before he noticed something. "Did you always look like this? And were you…were you always this tiny?" She didn't know if she should be pissed, embarrassed, or how to feel in the sense she had no idea what he meant by that.
"Excuse me?" She questioned as he twirled her.
"I mean were you always this pretty…I don't remember you being well…uh, cute." He had to admit. She seriously wanted to slap him now, as they continued to dance. Gunther the whole time over heard and wanted to go punch him, while Teena was snickering.
"Gunther, if you keep glaring, people are going to start to think things." Teena whispered, as she had to take the lead a bit with the steps.
"I don't care, the hell does that ass think he's doing?" He tried to keep moving, but wanted to keep watching Jackie and Gordie. "He better not try anything, or I swear…"
"Gunther I doubt, especially with what happened at the formal that, that will happen." Teena tried to assure him. "I think he's sadly just trying to flirt with her." This only made Gunther more upset.
"Yeah well she's my girlfriend." He retorted. "Jackass better back off before I kick his ass."
"I'm sure Jackie can handle her own, in this kind of setting." Teena affirmed. As she glanced over as well. "She's a tough girl." She brought up. "Especially given that she has to put up with you." She giggled. He gave her an annoyed look with that, before looking back at Jackie and Gordie, trying to listen to what they were saying.
"You insult me practically all throughout high school, especially as of late, and now you think I'm cute." She was peeved as he spun her.
"What I never got a real close look at you, plus I didn't realize you were as tiny as you were." Gordie shrugged.
"What the hell does that even mean?" She was getting further insulted. "And why would you make fun of someone you're not even really looking at?" She was baffled now by his actions. "Are you that idiotic? Moronic? A complete asshole?" She asked.
"Okay first off, I am none of those things." She just rolled her eyes when he said that.
"Yeah, right…" She countered.
"Second, everyone, compared to me, I think is subpar okay." He answered. "And lastly, there is nothing wrong with being small, just means your skinny and are well… you're small okay. You're petite." He commented. "I just never really was attentive." Now she knew she was insulted.
"Okay, now I know I really hate this, maybe I should have taken the F." She said aloud.
"Hey you should take it as a compliment that I finally noticed you." Gordie twirled her again, before going back into the basic steps. He had a bit too much ego going on that made her want to smack him. "Girls love it when I notice them, plus I'm Gordie Gibble."
"Trust me, it's anything but a compliment…" Jackie retorted.
"How so?" He inquired. "I mean seriously, normally girls are falling all over me." She rolled her eyes with that. "A girl like you must have some guys give you some attention." He spoke. "I mean you fit my type and are quite a few other guys' type." He informed. She seriously wanted to smack him now. "So do you have a boyfriend?" He asked.
"Ugh…" She was so hating this and wanted to shove him away, and smack him. Hell she wanted to do something to him. "Even if I did have a boyfriend, I wouldn't tell you." She shot back. "And I sure as hell wouldn't go out with you or anything." She added with as much fire. "When this unit is done I will be so happy because I don't want to be anywhere near you."
"I'm sure you'll change your mind." Gordie quipped. Which only made her glare at him. "Besides if you're single you'll need something to do on Valentine's Day, and if you do have a boyfriend, he's nothing like me." Gordie mentioned. "No guy can compare to me anyway." Now Jackie was pissed. She pushed him off.
"Okay, that's it." She started to walk away. "I am taking the F, I don't give a damn." She walked into the locker room.
"Hey I don't want an F, get back here. Jackie!" Gordie called. Gunther meanwhile was just as pissed if not more. He folded his arms.
"Thankfully it's the end of class now." Teena commented, as the others came over, while Kendall went into the locker room to go check on Jackie. "Although I don't think she'll make it through these next three and half weeks."
"I don't I'll make it through." Gunther chimed in. "He's going to get it." He growled.
"Maybe first make sure she's okay, then let's go talk to teacher and Mr. Vickle about switching." Teena told him, holding her arm up to hold him back, as was Kick.
"You sure you want to put up with Gordie?" Brianna inquired.
"I'll take one for the team, plus I am not letting Jackie put up with him any longer, especially since I owe a bit, you know." Teena informed. "Plus, I know how to handle the idiot now that I think about it." She shrugged. "Let's go get changed, check on Jackie then talk to teacher." She suggested. "Come on Gunther." She pushed him and the boys towards their locker room, while the other girls went to go get changed back into their clothes. Gunther still pissed as he wanted to punch Gordie in the locker room, and Kick needing to keep him calm. After they were done changing though, he wanted to make sure Jackie was okay before him and Teena spoke to Mr. Vickle and Coach Warren.
