Secret Admirers:
Jackie hated that she had to deal with Gordie for another week, but after that the teacher not only agreed to switch her and Teena as partners, but also said she wouldn't get an F for the unit, which she was happy about. Jackie felt bad for Teena for having to deal with Gordie, especially since it would be for the rest of the unit, however Teena assured Jackie it would be okay and that Jackie dealt with him long enough. Plus told her she deserved to have some time with her boyfriend for once, which also made Jackie happy. Not to mention she said she knew how to handle Gordie. Jackie smiled at the fact she had been partnered with Gunther the rest of that week.
After school ended Friday, the girls were idling chatting about a few topics, given Kendall had another secret date with Kick, and Jackie was even spending a bit more alone time with Gunther, as they were getting ready to have girl's night that night. They were at their normal lockers, opening them, when another letter and rose fell out of Jackie's locker. Kendall glanced, seeing the items, smiling at the said items, as Jackie went to pick up the stuff.
"Your secret admirer striking again it seems." Kendall mused. "A bit early though, don't you think?" She giggled. Jackie just shook her head lightly before she smelled the rose.
"Ooo, lovely rose Jackie." Brianna came up. "Who gave it to you?" She asked.
"Ah…well um…" Jackie switched out some stuff, grabbing the stuff she needed, before closing her locker and just holding the rose, placing the note in her bag. "I…I don't know." She admitted.
"What do you mean you don't know?" Brianna grabbed her things she needed from her locker before closing it, Kendall doing the same.
"Um well…" Jackie swallowed as they all started heading out. "It…it doesn't say who it's from…"
"You just get roses at random?" Brianna raised an eyebrow as they walked out of the school building, starting to walk home. The boys were doing their own thing that day, so the girls were going to have fun that night.
"Well not…not at random, per se…" She replied. Brianna was still curious. Kendall lightly laughed.
"Normally she doesn't receive them this early." Kendall came in, trying to help.
"Oh is that so." Brianna commented. "And you know about this too?" Brianna questioned Kendall.
"What, there just some roses and little poems." Kendall informed.
"Oh really?" Brianna glanced at Jackie more intrigued. "And why have I not ever heard about this from you?" Jackie felt embarrassed by this topic now, her cheeks reddening.
"Uh….well…I mean, it's not…It's just once a year." She tried to say. "Besides I don't know who's giving me this stuff, so I just um…kinda leave it…alone…" She shrugged, her cheeks still red.
"That so?" Brianna wasn't buying it. "You mean to tell me, you're getting roses and poems around this time, and you're not even wondering who is leaving them?" Brianna inquired.
"Not…uh…not really…." Jackie replied. Brianna quirked an eyebrow at her.
"Uh huh. Sure." She definitely wasn't buying this. "I know you must be curious about who is leaving you this stuff." She insisted. "I know I would be." Brianna mentioned. "Plus how long has this been going on for anyway, I'm sure there are a few clues to who it could possibly be, given time frame." Brianna had a sly look with that.
"I…well…that is…" Jackie glanced away, feeling more sheepish.
"Brianna." Kendall giggled. "Do you really have to be so curious?" She smiled at her friend as they were walking into their neighborhood.
"Of course I do." Brianna responded. "Besides I just find it interesting is all, not to mention I just want to know more about it from Jackie here." She lightly laughed, Jackie growing redder. The girls decided to head to Jackie's place this time for their girls' night. They walked into her place, heading to her room. "So spill hun, you must tell me all the details." Brianna insisted again. Jackie glanced at Kendall this time, who just shrugged, giving her an encouraging look. She then went to her closet and got a small box out, dumping it out. Brianna was surprised to say the least.
"It, well…um…" Jackie let out a breath. "It started back in seventh grade, during that Valentine's day." She started to explain. "Kendall and I had really just started to be real close, like really close, sharing stuff." She glanced at her.
"Yeah." Kendall remembered. "I don't know why we didn't like each other in fifth grade, but when we got close in sixth grade it was the best thing ever." She smiled.
"Agreed." Jackie nodded. "Plus it was nice getting close to a female friend for once." Jackie admitted. "Although, the fact you helped me a lot back then was a big bonus too."
"Oh you mean with your obsession with Kick?" Brianna couldn't help but remember. Jackie looked down, also remembering, feeling embarrassed by a lot of what she did. Kendall smiling at her, placing a hand on her shoulder.
"More like it was an obsession with daring, cool, awesome dare devils." Kendall corrected. "Or people like that, and given that she just moved in, was brand new to the neighborhood and Kick fit that criteria, well she wanted to get close to him." Kendall shrugged it off.
"Well I wanted to get close to anyone, I was constantly moving, and it would have just been nice to have stable real friends." Jackie commented. "Plus when I moved here I didn't see anyone my age or anything, so seeing Kick, who not only was my age, but also seemed to be this awesome daredevil like the people I liked, it was like. I have to befriend him, I have to get close to him…just I may have done it…really….really badly…" Jackie felt ashamed about it now.
"I know, I remember the conversation pretty well." Kendall thought about it, still comforting her.
"I never heard about this." Brianna pouted. "Why is it I never know anything with you two?" She pointed her fingers at them.
"It's not like we purposely leave you guys out of our stuff." Jackie brought up.
"Yeah, we just…Jackie and I just connected on a lot of levels back in sixth grade since we didn't have many real friends, weren't well liked and well kinda misunderstood." Kendall recalled.
"Plus the way people kinda viewed us, to how we wanted to view ourselves, was really different, so I think we also connected on that level too." Jackie added.
"I see." Brianna smiled. "I guess it is a good thing you guys became so close then." She remarked. The girls glanced at each other with a smile. "But anyway you were saying about these roses and poems?" Brianna reminded.
"Right, well…" Jackie let out another small sigh. "After Kends and I got close in sixth grade and she helped convince me that I wasn't really obsessed with Kick, but rather his stunts, and just people like that…"
"Sure there wasn't a reason for that?" Brianna aimed a sly expression at Kendall.
"No offense, even if Jackie did like Kick like that, I would have thought she ended up with him before I would being I thought your brother had a type. And that Jackie might have fit it." Kendall defended. "However, I just wanted to know why she liked him, yes it was out of curiosity, but also because she was a bit closer to him than I was. So I just wanted to see how the two were and everything." She continued. "But when she explained she just loved his stunts, his dare devil extremeness, that he was just like Billy Stumps and all them, and she liked them too because of their extremeness, I kinda figured she didn't like Kick, for well… Kick." She shrugged.
"Which made me have to double take in my life and refocus." Jackie mentioned. "And once I did that, boy was that an eye opener. I love being these guys' fan, even your brother's, but that's as far as it should go." She told Brianna. "I realized I had other loves like photography, art and so much more, which I think helped me out a lot, plus also getting close and befriending Kends here." She said.
"I see." Brianna nodded. "Makes sense."
"But moving on from that." Jackie giggled. "After figuring all that out, and Kends and I got closer throughout sixth and seventh grade to the point I figured out who she liked." Jackie gave her a look, which made Kendall blush and Brianna snicker. "I was starting to really figure out who I actually liked, which is when I started to get these secret admirer notes in my locker on Valentine's Day in seventh grade." She showed the pictures to Brianna along with the notes. Brianna looked at them. "From seventh grade all the way to freshman year I only received two notes, each with their own rose, each year." She explained. "I figured it was from two different people, one who liked to talk about my art and the other who liked to be sweet in their poetry." She blushed thinking about it. Brianna quirked an eyebrow as she read over one of poems, knowing who wrote it. "But once sophomore year came all the sudden I got a two more notes along with the others." She showed Brianna the stuff. "Again, figuring that it was different people, however, I am still unsure as to who they are." She glanced away.
"Did you get any your junior year?" Brianna wondered.
"Yes, the same amount as sophomore year, although, with one of the notes, the one that was always sweet and complimenting me on my eyes or smile or mind, I got half a dozen roses rather than just one, which was surprising." Jackie blushed.
"Did you tell Gunther?" Brianna asked. Jackie grew redder.
"Well….I…uh…" She stumbled out. "Not…no, not really." She swallowed. "I…I'm not sure how to tell him, besides it's not like this stuff really matters." Jackie commented.
"Then why keep it?" Brianna was curious.
"Actually I mostly just like the sweet notes," Jackie admitted. "But I guess because it happened before I got together with him… And well I… I just thought they were interesting, plus it's kinda baffling to believe someone would leave me things like this."
"I think you give yourself too little credit Jackie." Brianna told her. 'Though interesting you like your boyfriends secret little notes…' She chuckled in her head.
"That's what I have been telling her." Kendall agreed.
"But if it's any consolation, I remember Gunther getting me also a half dozen roses for Valentine's Day, plus having a really sweet romantic date that weekend." Jackie recalled. "I kinda just forget this stuff and put it in a box." She added. "Not to mention it's only once a year, so I don't really think about it, until they drop out of my locker." She confessed.
"Which speaking of, since were not even in the lovely month of Valentine's Day until tomorrow, why did you get a note and rose so early?" Brianna wondered.
"That's what I asked." Kendall brought up. "Normally she starts to get them a day or two before Valentine's Day." Kendall was also curious.
"Not sure…" Jackie grabbed her bag, getting the note. "Maybe because it's senior year their leaving more…" She thought about it.
"That or maybe you're getting more admirers." Brianna laughed. 'Gunther definitely won't like that.' She snickered in her thoughts, 'Boy's already jealous enough.' She continued to giggle.
"Or it could be, since it is that we're in senior year, maybe your admirers are finally trying to confess or tell you who they are." Kendall offered the idea.
"Now that's an interesting thought." Brianna had a small smirk. "Wouldn't that be lovely to find out who all your admirers are?" She giggled.
"Who…who knows…" Jackie blushed more as she got out the note, thinking about the ideas, hoping if she did find out who they were, maybe Gunther would be one of the longer ones. 'I never asked him, even though it's been over a year, because it's kinda embarrassing, but…I always did want him to be one…' She admitted in her thoughts as she looked down to read the note. Her attitude changing instantly, as she got a look on her face. "Oh hell no…" She spoke.
"What's wrong?" Brianna and Kendall asked her.
"This." She showed them the note, Kendall reading it.
"You're really cute and petite. Like a small little treat. Let's have a blast at the Valentine's Day ball. Be my date and mine, you know I'm the best after all. Signed G.G." Kendall read aloud, wanting to laugh at it. Jackie felt pissed off again, her anger rising.
"Ugh…" She went to grab the rose and throw it out the window. "Stupid, pathetic, arrogant…Ugh!" She insulted.
"Well at least we know who wrote this one…" Brianna grabbed the note from Kendall, looking at it, rolling her eyes. 'Now Gunther really is going to punch his face in.' She thought. "Gordie really is something…"
"More like he's an ass." Jackie came back to sit with them.
"Gotta give him credit, I personally didn't know he knew how to rhyme, let alone compliment other people." Kendall countered.
"Compliment?!" Jackie gave her a look. "Compliment? How in the hell is calling me petite and small a freaking compliment?!" She questioned. "I am not small." She folded her arms.
"Jackie if you're calling yourself fat?" Brianna gave the girl a look.
"That's not what I meant…I mean…" Her cheeks heating up, she was still pissed. "I just meant…" She breathed out an exhausted breath as she glanced down at her chest. "I meant it as I'm not small in other ways." She spoke looking away. Brianna giggled at her.
"Being a B is not bad." She told her.
"I'm a C." Jackie tried to argue, even Kendall gave her a look with that. "What, I am." She added, her cheeks reddening more as her two friends just stared at her. "I have one bra that's a C." She pointed.
"Jackie being a B, seriously is not bad." Brianna reiterated. "I'm a B." Both girls glanced at her with that.
"Brianna you're a C." They countered.
"Well I mean I have like two or three bras that are still B, but what I mean is, it's fine to be a B, that doesn't mean a thing." Brianna responded.
"I'm still not small damnit." Jackie pouted. "And I sure as hell don't want that ass telling me I am or that I'm his type, ugh." Kendall giggled at that.
"Okay, why don't we just get to the games for the night?" Kendall suggested. "I think we can use the fun." She laughed.
"Sounds good." Brianna agreed as did Jackie as they went downstairs to play some games and enjoy the night, still laughing about things as Brianna helped Jackie get a little more curious to who her admirers are.
To be continued…
