Shinso
– I passed the exam to be part of the Heroes' Course – sitting in front of my parents' grave. I was overwhelmed, of the ten that applied, only I managed to pass. Despite getting a higher score in the theory exam, Ibara didn't get in; I hope she's well, although with her optimism, I wouldn't be surprised. The day before, after having finished packing my belongings, I asked my tutors on Sunday afternoon to come and leave some offerings for my parents. – Things didn't turn out as I wanted, but I am very happy to have entered. – While I was under Monoma's mind control, I could hear and perceive everything around me, the Kaminari's footsteps behind me and how they vanished while the blond who had used his quirk against me clung to me.
What an unpleasant way to experience the effects of my own quirk on me.
– Now I'll be in the corresponding dorm and I really don't know how to feel about it. – I had many reasons to be overwhelmed. Disregarding the insignificant annoyance that Mineta now implied, having kept him out on more than one occasion, I was comfortable with the idea of perhaps being able to spend more time with Midoriya, considering that he is one of the few people I have managed to tolerate. But my biggest drawback would now be to face Kaminari after that fateful encounter; and I wouldn't blame him. In his head I summoned him to see me give such a show in collusion with the idiot Monoma. I was starting to get a migraine.
The smell of incense was soothing, and the mild climate seemed to have come to terms with my depressing and confused state. How could I see his face after this?
I brought my hands to my face, so that the warmth of my palms relaxed my features.
– I'll keep you posted on my progress. Hope next time, I'm in a better mood. – I informed before leaving a last prayer and arranging the flowers that I had bought for them.
That night the most stoic of my tutors was on their feet. I quickly checked my watch to make sure I hadn't exceeded my time limit, confirming that I had at least thirty minutes left.
– I'm still on time – I hurried
– I know – he replied calmly, standing next to me, resting his arm on my shoulder. – How was it?
– As you can imagine, it was more of a kind of monologue. – During all these years, prompted by him, I had developed the habit of visiting and talking to them. It was difficult at first, but Shota had convinced me that, even if they were not physically present, my parents would always be an important part of my life.
– I'm sure that, wherever they are, we share the same pride – stopping his step–in front of bedroom 1A, which generated a spasm that went through me from head to toe.
– It's supposed to be tomorrow! – on the edge of my nerves, sensing what was coming
– Did you face three professional heroes and are you afraid of your new classmates? – taking me by the shoulders, forcing me to move forward
– I was hoping I had more time to process it!
– You had at least four months contemplating that possibility – opening the door.
The lights came on to the beat of the shouts of those present. Streamers flew in different directions and the bright lights emitted by the boy with the laser navel were reflected everywhere.
– Surprise! – they all yelled in unison, well, almost everyone
– Was this your idea?! – turning behind my back
– Of course, not – leaning against the door
– But mine! – Shouted the other of my tutors, while hugging me tightly. – And of them, too
– We are very happy that you are here, Shinso – Midoriya was the first to approach.
– Speak for yourself – it wasn't necessary to see the origin of the voice, to know that it was from Bakugou, sitting in one of the armchairs. Another one with whom I would have to deal.
– Don't be shy, Shinso! – the one with pink skin hung from my arm
– This is going to get good – while Sero took me from the other available
They both dragged me to the center, while jumping around me. Needless to say, I was overwhelmed, I didn't expect to be surrounded by so many people, and very much less a welcome party. However, I'm afraid that while crowds aren't my thing, what had me extremely anxious was the thought that I had to face Kaminari much earlier than I would have processed it.
– Boys! – Hearing his voice triggered all my receivers. He was making his way through them. – Give him some space! – He stood in front of me, while I tried to hide my shock.
Then, the boys, continued dancing or whatever caused them to move frantically from one side to the other. I wonder if I'll ever get used to all this chaos.
– Do you want something to drink? – for this question, he turned to show me his usual smile
– Yes ... – I uttered in what may well have been a whisper. He took me by the arm to guide me to the table where the snacks and drinks were located.
– As you know, we tend to be quite animated – handing me a soda while I was stunned. He acted as if nothing had happened, although how was he supposed to act?
– Nothing I can't deal with ... – Taking a sip of my drink, only to find that my hands were shaking. I felt the urge to let him know what happened two days ago, but I had no idea how to begin. I wanted him to be the first to know, and he ended up seeing the last thing I wish him saw. However, seeing him so carefree far from making me feel relieved somehow made me uncomfortable. Maybe for him it was nothing to see me with another boy; see me with someone else.
– I know that parties aren't your thing – he commented making me return to earth. – But like Midoriya said, we didn't want a new member to go unnoticed. – Smiling again. The thought that I would see that smile more often overwhelmed me, stirring all my feelings for him. – We're happy that you are here… I am happy that you are here. – Blood pressure was circulating rapidly in my chest.
– I'm sorry I'm not so expressive. – I felt a lump in my throat. – Thanks for the welcome. – Although my gratitude was genuine, my words were forced.
– Don't worry – I felt I owed him an explanation.
– Kaminari, what happened ...
– Are you planning to keep him to yourself, Kaminari?! – It was again a girl with pink skin. I have to learn their names. – I'm going to introduce you to your classmates! – Crawling without giving me space to protest. – As you are very quiet, I think Shoji, Koda and Tokoyami, better known as the Emosquad, will like you – Emosquad? – You should also know that we are very close, but depending on the event or occasion, we are divided into squads – What?
And that's how I was introduced to one by one, or at least the majority. As she said, the ones who transmitted the most peace to me were the first mentioned, although I would have to learn their names. I didn't even know that Midoriya headed one of the famous squads, the "Dekusquad", much less that the explosive also had his, the "Bakusquad", of which Kaminari was also a member. Who will have decided this? What an eccentric group.
– We are glad that you are here, Shinso! – The redhead dropped down next to me on the couch
– As if another extra was needed – said the only one who refers to his teammates as such
– There will never be too much who can keep you out of the way, Bakugou – Sero was to my liking more and more – He has! I want to see him try
– Kacchan!
– Don't worry Midoriya – turning to the blond. – Could you repeat? I didn't hear you – showing me a grimace
– It worked! – The girl with round cheeks pointed out, causing sparks to come out of the boy's hands
– I did not know that you could apply for the Heroes' Course after the admission test – It was the first time I heard the heterochromatic speak that night.
– Yeah. – It was the guy with the glasses. – You can apply for them shortly after being admitted.
– I heard they are very difficult – It was the muscle guy who made cakes. I really need to learn their names.
– Partly. – I was much more relaxed – The training was much more demanding.
– That's the reason why we always saw you exercising so often – the multi–armed boy was standing to the side
– And definitely, the results are palpable – said the girl with pink skin, squeezing my arms. In short, she was the most outgoing.
– Mina, respect his personal space – The ponytail girl claimed – Please don't take her into account Shinso. – She looked sorry.
– You must be very good then, kero – the girl with the frog characteristics seemed friendly
– Bien sur! – and to think that the one with the laser also knew French
– We hope you feel comfortable. – I was relieved that Oijiro is fine with my presence
– Welcome to class 1A! – the invisible girl made up for her quirk with a rather animated voice
– Thank you – I said feeling much more relaxed.
Except for Bakugou and the grape, whom luckily, I didn't see all night, they were all at ease with my inclusion, mitigating the cravings I experienced when I walked through the front door.
– It's time to sleep – it was Prof. Aizawa, who was holding a sleeping Eri in his arms. The clock was already striking 10 pm. – And when I return, I hope everything is in order.
– You heard it! – apparently the one with glasses was the class representative
– Don't worry, Shinso – it was Midoriya – You can leave, we'll take care of it
– Yes, don't worry Shinso – seconded him who was the vocalist in the concert
– I'll take you to your room – unless it was intentional, I always felt a shock throughout my body every time I came into contact with him
– Kaminari, don't want to evade your responsibility! – the same girl yelled while we were at the foot of the stairs
– I'll be back in a moment! – pushing me up
We were alone and I would be lying if I said the nerves were gone. He was talking to me very casually but I couldn't fully concentrate.
– Shinso?
– Yes ... – distracted
– I asked you what you thought about the party – if you are present, it will always be memorable
– It was good – we were already on the third floor
– It's here, right next to Todoroki – reading the inscription on the door. – You're lucky, this is the quietest floor. Instead, the one I'm in… I'll show you my room later. – changing the subject. I couldn't help that invitation made my stomach tingle.
– Thanks – I answered dryly, taking the doorknob.
– See you later – turning to leave, however, seeing him walk away did nothing but make me feel anxious. I felt I owed him an explanation.
– Kaminari – approaching him. – What happened on Friday wasn't what I intended. Actually…
– You don't have to explain – he said in a calm voice. – I think that, although it isn't something usual, it is not bad that you are with a boy. – I don't know whether to feel relieved because he took my preferences naturally or worried because he thinks Monoma interests me. – Although I didn't imagine that you would be our new partner ...
– Kaminari, I ...
– Please, don't misunderstand! I'm happy you're here!
– I wanted you to be the first to know – my nerves didn't prevent me from getting closer to him. – I just didn't want to tell you anything until I was sure. – For a moment he stared at me and I questioned all the decisions I had made up to that moment – You are one of the closest friends I have ... – trying to remedy whatever I said without thinking
– Don't worry. – placing his hand on my shoulder. – The important thing is that you are here and we can see each other more often.
– CURRENT SOCKET! – It was Bakugou – STOP WASTING TIME AND HELP US!
– See you later! – running towards the stairs
In the dim light of my new room, everything seemed the same as before, except for a few things that had yet to unpack. I felt an amalgam of emotions all flutter in my head at the same time.
I flopped onto the bed, burying my face on the pillow.
While I wanted to blame the excitement and anxiety of starting a new class, the reality is that I was feeling frustrated. I had not been able to clarify things with Kaminari, much less confess my feelings, which now seemed more impossible than ever. How could I tell him how I feel after he saw me kissing Monoma?
...
The next day, after the chaotic breakfast (I had no idea that Bakugou would prepare breakfast for the four who see him as a leader), I was accompanied by the well–known Dekusquad, except for the quietest of the five.
– It's official – mentioned the girl who controls gravity
– Welcome to the Heroes' Course! – She and Midoriya announced as a duo
– Don't obstruct the way – adjusting the glasses. – Go ahead, Shinso. – Passing behind him.
I hadn't realized what it meant to be there, until I got into my seat, right behind the girl with the ponytail… My first task would be to memorize their names.
– If you have any questions, don't hesitate to let us know – Midoriya had been one of the most attentive since he had arrived.
– I will – I'd really start studying assignments intended to educate future professional heroes.
– Hey! Don't want to include Shinso in your squad! – the pink one again – He's a friend of Kaminari, and therefore ours! – Behind her, entered the star quartet that completed the Bakusquad
– He's also friends with Deku! – the one with round cheeks protested amusedly
– Don't even think I'll let that extra come near us – Bakugou said, placing his feet on the desk
– Bakugou! What did I tell you about the desk? – Shouted the class representative. I wonder if yelling at each other from so early was his way of saying "Good morning"
– Good morning – or so I thought. The bicolor settled silently in his seat
– Good morning, Shinso! – Kaminari greeted me from his place
– Kaminari it won't work! – Taking the greenette boy by the arm – Show them that you are also his friend, Deku!
– Ura ... raka – he said with a brittle voice; the boy was reddish
– Sit down now! – Our teacher in charge mentioned, pointing his red eyes like lasers at our direction.
The rest of the day I continued to familiarize myself with the different subjects that, unlike the general classes, were oriented to the civil situations in which professional heroes are usually involved. In fact, most of the material was very similar to what I had to study for the theory exam.
…
It had been a week since I had joined my new student dynamic. Now during training, I had to improve my range and duration in combat, being my partner Midoriya, who helped me with melee combat.
– You've improved a lot since the last time, Shinso – lying on the sink
– So? – I was exhausted. And to think that someone so small has so much strength. – You were not bad at all, either
– I would keep him at a distance in your place, Midoriya – Here we go again – Or do you not remember what happened last time?
– We're just talking, Mineta.
– Don't worry – sitting up in front of the dwarf, which made it look tinier – I don't bother about so little
– If I were you, would sleep with my eyes open – splashing water in his retreat
– Don't take him into account. – Providing me with a towel – Lately he seems to be more irritated than necessary – Lately? That seems to be his only state
– Nothing to keep me awake. – Tying my hair – One last lap before we go?
– Yes! – keeping up with me
As we were on our way to the locker room to change, I noticed that Bakugou and Todoroki (yes, I was serious about learning names as soon as possible) were going out. Now that I think about it, I saw them together quite often.
– I never imagined that those two were so close
– Ah? – Leaning to look in my direction – Ah! You mean Todoroki and Kacchan – yes, I also had to get used to hearing that this is how the blond was referred to by Midoriya. – Neither do we, but I guess it's because they spend a lot of time together
– Yes, sure…
– D- don't get in the way! – the grape, again. His clothes were soaked and he was shivering. And to think that I'd have to put up with it for two more years.
That night I was part of those who had to make dinner, including the Bakusquad, which meant that I would not only share a kitchen with the most explosive but also with Kaminari.
– Listen well idiots, tonight we will make stew – having some vegetables
– But we want ramen! – Ashido and Kirishima complained
– I'm not interested in what you want! – starting to chop some potatoes
– As long as you cook it, I'm fine with that – Sero was the one who took it least seriously
– Can't we vote? – If looks could kill, I would already be disintegrated by the blond's gaze
– No, do you have a problem with that?
– Bakugou, put down that knife! – Kaminari came between us
– Believe it or not, despite his temper, he really knows how to cook – standing next to me to peel some onions
– If you say so – peeling some carrots.
I had spent at least five minutes in silence beside him. Although I was not entirely calm, the silence did not bother me. Knowing that he was by my side somehow comforted me.
– Hey Shinso – although hearing him name me always had the same effect – At least once a week we have a movie night – I imagine it refers to the Bakusquad – I was thinking that you could join us sometime, if you want
– Bakugou and I in the same room voluntarily? It's a miracle we're here and the kitchen hasn't exploded
– He's a good person when you meet him
– Did you cut the meat with your feet?! Chop it up smaller, Shitty Hair!
– Yes ... I don't think I want to find out
– I'm hungry – It was Todoroki, approaching the saucepan with the sauce
– Get your hands off the stove! – Bakugou shouted, but the heterochromatic didn't flinch
– It needs salt – he commented, ignoring the blond's screams
– It's not ready yet! – approaching the boy. I must admit that the scene was entertaining, and even more so the scene that followed. Todoroki brought the spoon with which he had tasted the stew to the blond's mouth, without his protest.
– You got it? – with his monotonous voice
– Get out of here before I cook you too! – snatching the spoon, he seemed nervous. And complying with his shout, the boy left the kitchen with what seemed to me to be a sneaky smile.
– Since when are those two friends?
– I don't know ... I think they got closer during their extracurricular course to get the provisional license. Why?
– Nothing ... It just seems strange to me that, being so different, they get along so well.
– Well, the same could be said of us – and there was that smile again
– Are you already finished?! – Sero screamed, leaning on us, which caused some onions to jump, right at his face. Karma.
– Sero! – passing him a kitchen towel
– That happens to me for interrupting – taking it to his face
– Stop yelling and get rid of those vegetables!
– Look who says it – picking up the mess on the ground.
Once it was finished, I hate to admit that Kaminari was right, the stew was delicious. On the way to the table, to place the pile of plates, I collided with who, in my defense, is too short to be perceived, much more if he was only interfering.
– Don't the dark circles let you see, idiot? – Avoiding dropping the dishes – Or are those two things you call eyes just for decoration?
– You don't have to bother so much. It was an accident
– You are an accident! – control yourself, Shinso
– Yes of course. Insult whoever prepares you to eat – keeping away from him
– Did you hear it? He just confessed that he poisoned my food!
– Now relax Mineta – Sero said, pulling the grape to his side. What the hell is wrong with that guy? If he kept bothering me, I can't be held responsible for suddenly he being motivated to take 20 laps around campus.
I had gotten used to sitting between Iida and Midoriya, right in front of Kaminari. This was by far my favorite part of all day.
That night, as I tried to sleep, I considered that perhaps saving my feelings was not such a bad idea. Considering that he only sees me as a friend, things could have gotten awkward now that we had to spend more time together.
…
In the middle of the night and sleepy, I took my cell phone to check the time: 2:48 am. I hated waking up in the middle of the night because of the urgency of my sphincters. I hoped I could get back to sleep, because when this happens, it takes me at least two more hours to be dreaming again, however, after leaving the bathroom, a noise stopped my way to the bed, it came from the adjoining wall, more specifically from Todoroki's room.
They were dry sounds, like those made by hitting a pillow. They were insistent, I could even hear his breathing. Was he having a nightmare?
At one point I felt that I was invading his privacy, so I decided to move away towards my bed, maybe I could go back to sleep, but of all the sounds I heard, it was the irregular articulation of a word or rather, a name that instantly paralyzed me
– Sho ... to – a chill ran through my body. That wasn't Todoroki's voice! It was then that I understood that I could not sleep without knowing what the hell was going on in the next room of who seemed to be the most reserved in the class.
As I got closer to the wall, the sounds were subtle, but not imperceptible; he definitely couldn't be sleeping. I could hear heavy breathing, like he was panting… Wait, what?! Was he with someone else in his room? Now that I think about it, it was hard for me to imagine him with any of the girls, and even more so that they were at "it" in the middle of the night.
– We… we have to… sleep – Bakugou?! The shock almost made me fall onto my back. Had it not been for my reflections, it would have made more noise than it already had… Fortunately, I managed to catch my desk lamp.
Due to the subtlety from before, I couldn't tell the tone of voice, but now it was more identifiable.
I felt numb. On second thought, that might explain why the boy with the worst character spent so much time with the most even–tempered.
– So, you two…– Recovering from the surprise, I couldn't let out a slight laugh. I got up trying to make as little noise as possible, so as not to disturb them. I carefully set my lamp in place and grab my headphones to listen to some music otherwise I wouldn't be able to focus on anything else.
– Are you okay, Shinso? You look more tired than usual – This time, Kaminari sat next to me at lunchtime. He was right, I was exhausted.
– I didn't have my best night – unlike a couple I'm sure did
– It must be because you still don't get used to your new room – separating the chopsticks to start eating.
– You know? I envy them – as I watched the bicolor adjust his tie
– Who? – His mouth was full of rice. He could so easily put myself in a vulnerable position.
– Bakugou and Todoroki – both boys were considerably apart and yet they seemed to be connected.
– Are you saying it because of their friendship? – yes, "friendship"
– I'd say it's more than that. – Taking a sip of water. – It is as if they speak a language that only they know
– That was very poetic – he said amused. If you were not so dense, perhaps you would realize that it is you who inspires me.
Looking at them carefully, they have subtle dark circles, however, I don't doubt that they are in a very good mood. Maybe they couldn't rest after the busy night. I wonder if anyone else would have noticed; the way they look at each other, how Bakugou seems to be more docile when he is with Todoroki and how this one smiles more easily next to him.
Anyway, it is something that only concerns them.
I had a hard time writing the part of the party. I am (and was) Shinso at a party.
Fact # 56
As in life, several events are parallel and later affect the characters, so wait for them from now on.
