A/N: Here we go….. Let's Finish the Fight. Oh, uh the first two missions will be in one whole chapter. And for the very first time, put on Akame Ga Kiru op 2 as opening for this epic game.
Disclaimer: I do not own Akame Ga Kiru and Halo, they belong to their rightful and respectful owners.
Delta put on Halo 3 and then the TV goes to the main menu.
(Insert- Halo 3 theme)
Immediately, everyone was humming the tune while Delta and Queue Fives joined in as well.
"This tune is without a doubt the best theme that I ever listened to!" Cosmina admitted as she was humming.
"Same!" Chelsea agreed.
Delta liked their reaction to this music but can't help but wonder how they will react to the Missions The Ark, The Covenant and more importantly, the Warthog run in the level Halo.
"Oh man, can't wait to play the missions." Tatsumi exclaimed in excitement.
"Since this is the most anticipating game, we'll just have to wait what they have in store for us." Najenda commented as she puffed out smoke.
As the menu song finishes, Lubbock picks up the controller and sets the Campaign to Legendary. He, along with Esdeath, Kurome and Chelsea picked up the controllers to play the first ever mission of Halo 3.
"Finally, get to play with chicks." Lubbock thought and giggled silently that his wish came true for once.
(Cutscene)
It is a night sky: several bright pinpoints of white light, stars, hang in the center. It's a tranquil forest, with lush forestry and a winding river. Then, Cortana's voice begins whispering in voice-overs.
Cortana (V.O.): "They let me pick. Did I ever tell you that? Choose whichever Spartan I wanted."
"Lucky for you, you have chosen the right Spartan." Lubbock said.
"And if you weren't there with the Chief on the first Halo ring, who knows what will happen to humanity." Wave added.
Cortana (V.O.): "You know me. I did my research. Watched as you became the soldier we needed you to be."
As the camera pans down, something comes into view entering the atmosphere, trailing flames splitting the night sky. Although it is not recognizable at this time, it is the Prophet of Truth's Dreadnought.
"Oh, here comes the one!" Leone exclaimed.
"Let's see where this goes." Mine huffed while also containing her excitement.
Cortana (V.O.): "Like the others, you were strong and swift and brave. A natural leader."
"That is very much true." Najenda agreed as she knows what it is like to be a capable leader of a group, especially if you're in the military.
"Wish Budo was here to see this. He might enjoy this as well." Esdeath exclaimed as she still wonders what us he still doing in the Imperial Military.
"He is probably still disciplining his Army, Reclaimer." Delta stated in an obvious but calm tone.
The fireball comes nearer, at an oblique angle to the camera.
Cortana (V.O.): "But you had something they didn't. Something no one saw but me."
"I have a feeling knowing what it is." Chelsea guessed.
"We all know what it is." Kurome added.
A second, lesser fireball breaks off from the main one. It moves at an oblique angle to the first, in the direction of the camera. It moves closer while the first vanishes behind a spray of trees.
Cortana (V.O.): "Can you guess?"
The object moves even nearer, and its trajectory begins to curve until it is heading directly for the camera.
Cortana (V.O.): "Luck."
"Luck?" Now everyone was confused.
"One-One-Seven?" Run whispered and soon he knew what it meant. "I get it."
"Get what?" Wave asked.
To get where he got that idea, he had to tell them about Chief's number. "Think about it, One-one seven? Does that ring anything?"
It took a while for everyone to figure out what Run had just said before they all knew what he meant. "Oh, seven." Wave spoke up.
"I see, seven is the lucky number." Mine said as she figured out what Run meant by that.
The fireball roars past the camera and smashes into the ground with an earth-shattering impact. Cortana's last words are tinged with humor.
Cortana (V.O.): "Was I wrong?"
Some of the members of Night Raid when Cortana said that.
Fades to black.
View down towards the forest, with the sun streaming through the trees onto the smoking ruin where the object hit ground. In the foreground, an armored gauntlet is visible. In the background, several Marines move around; First Squad. The one in the back wears a Sergeant's cap. The Marines of First Squad anxiously observe an object just below the view position.
"Johnson!" Leone figured the person standing in the back.
"Let's see what he brings us." Najenda said with a smile on her face.
Marine #1: "This ain't good."
Marine #2: "Damn. How far did he fall?"
"Ver, very high." Lubbock answered in a sarcastic manner.
"Yeah, there's no way I would survive falling in space." Tatsumi agreed as he knows that the Tyrant Dragon within Incursio cannot survive in space due to the lack of oxygen and that space has no environment.
"Same." Wave agreed while thinking about his Imperial Arms.
The Sergeant in the hat takes a long drag on his cigar and blows out smoke. He turns around, revealing he is Sergeant Major Avery J. Johnson.
"Knew it." Leone grinned.
Marine #3: "Two kilometers, easy."
Sergeant Johnson: "Stay sharp!"
The Marines move closer to the object while one aims his gun to the left then the right of the camera watching for any sign of the enemy. The object is finally revealed to be the Master Chief. He lies at one end of the impact crater.
"Jeez, how was he able to survive that?" Chelsea asked.
"Armour lock." Akame answered in a blunt but stoic tone.
The Marines move closer to the Chief, taking up combat positions. One sits down beside him and takes out a small computer.
Sergeant Johnson: "Corpsman?"
Marine Corpsman: "His armor's locked up. Gel layer could have taken most of the impact..."
"Man, wish we had that with our Imperial Arms." Wave said with Tatsumi agreeing as they can imagine what Gel Layer could do for them.
Delta caught this and could make more modifications after the game.
He taps something in on the computer. With a hiss, the Chief's outstretched arms collapse onto his chest. The Marine checks for vital signs. No readings.
"Chief's dead….." Kurome said with sadness.
Night Raid were shocked that Master Chief died in the crash, and soon everyone even Esdeath went silent to pay their respect to this legendary Spartan.
Johnson kneels by the side of his fallen friend and places a hand on his chest, feeling for breath, or any sign that the man is alive. He inadvertently breathes smoke into the Chief's face. After a few seconds, he sighs sadly, reaches behind the Chief's head and pulls Cortana's empty chip out of his helmet.
Sergeant Johnson: "Radio for VTOL, heavy lift gear. We're not leaving him here."
"Yeah, they better not." Tatsumi said sadly.
He looks down and realize the chip is empty. An armored hand reaches up and grabs Johnson's wrist.
Master Chief Petty Officer John-117: "Yeah. You're not."
"Chief!" Lubbock gasped that he's alive.
Night Raid were both shocked and happy that Mater Chief is alive.
"How…..?" Mine spoke.
"The Gel layer must've protected his body, so he wasn't burned during the crash."" Dorothea explained.
"Now that could e very useful." Tatsumi admitted.
"Hey Delta, can you make the modifications?" Wave asked kindly.
"I will Reclaimer, when we finish the game." Delta responded respectfully.
The Chief pushes himself slowly to his feet.
Sergeant Johnson: (sighing) "Crazy fool! Why do you always ''jump''? One of these days, you're gonna land on somethin' as stubborn as you are!"
Mine looked at Tatsumi when Johnson said that. She blushed a bit as he was a bit crazy and stubborn.
Sergeant Johnson: "And I don't do bits and pieces!"
The Chief says nothing. Instead, he reaches down and takes Cortana's chip from the Sergeant's hand and lets go of his arm.
Sergeant Johnson: "Where is she, Chief? Where's Cortana?"
"She stayed behind in High Charity." Mine said and was sad that she couldn't participate in aiding the war with the assistance of Master Chief.
"I hope she could survive against the Gravemind." Wave hoped that the Gravemind won't do anything bad to her.
The Chief stares at the data crystal, and for a second, Cortana's face flashes across the screen, along with an echo from the previous game.
Cortana (V.O.): "Don't make a girl a promise...if you know you can't keep it."
Johnson gives him a confused look.
John-117: "She stayed behind."
The Chief inserts the chip into the port at the back of his helmet.
Sergeant Johnson: "Corporal? Make it quick."
Marine Corporal: "Sorry, sir. (to Master Chief) Your armor's still in partial lockdown."
"And I think we need to consider having that modification." Tatsumi muttered.
"You don't need to worry about that." Delta said as she made a note in her core.
The Chief looks around, taking in his surroundings. Somewhere near him is a familiar sight...the heat-wave effect of a Covenant active camouflage. Johnson gives it a nod. A Sangheili decloaks, revealing itself to be the Arbiter, Thel 'Vadam.
"Oh…." Leone said.
"Shit's about to happen." Lubbock finished.
The Master Chief moves with fluid grace, brushing aside Johnson and another Marine next to 'Vadam, drawing Johnson's pistol from its holster.
Sergeant Johnson: "Chief, wait!"
The Master Chief jams the pistol between 'Vadam's mandibles.
Sergeant Johnson: "The Arbiter's with us!"
"Oh yeah, he doesn't realised that Thel sided with the humans." Tatsumi remembered.
'Vadam glares at the Master Chief, but shows no sign of discomfort nor makes any move to point the gun away from himself. The Chief hesitates to lower his gun.
"Wow, he doesn't show any hostility towards." Wave sighed as the Arbiter isn't showing any hostility towards the Chief.
Sergeant Johnson: "Come on now."
Johnson places a hand on the Chief's shoulder.
Sergeant Johnson: "We got enough to worry about without you two trying to kill each other!"
"Thank you Johnson." Leone sighed as she didn't want Thel dying.
The Spartan slowly lowers his gun. 'Vadam clacks his mandibles together: a shrug.
Arbiter Thel 'Vadam: "Were it so easy."
Thel Vadam makes to move past the Master Chief, but the Spartan pushes him back. 'Vadam turns and walks away.
Thel 'Vadam: "We must go. The Brutes have our scent."
"Wait what?!" Tatsumi, Mine, Mez, Lubbock, Chelsea and Wave said.
"They have the same ability as Lionel's beast form?" Leone exclaimed with shock.
"Now that would be a problem for us if they ever come here." Kurome admitted.
Sergeant Johnson: "Then they must love the scent of testosterone."
Everyone groaned at that while Leone and Najenda were laughing at that statement.
He grabs an assault rifle from a nearby Marine and holds it out to the Chief. The Spartan snatches it swiftly, as if annoyed by 'Vadam.
Fades to black.
"Oh, here we go." Lubbock said as he readies himself.
(Gameplay)
Walk It Off
Lubbock is looking around as he plays the Master Chief. Esdeath as the Arbiter, Kurome as N'tho 'Sraom and Leone as Usze 'Taham.
"Wait, why do we play as a separate character and not as the Chief?" Leone wondered as she was controlling 'Taham.
"Beats me, it's probably like the same as ODST." Mine bluntly answered.
Sergeant Johnson: "First Squad, you're my scouts. As for you, just try not to wreck my planet. Move out! Quiet as you can."
The group moves along with the rest of the marines and Johnson and they come across a log. The Marines climb over, and Johnson stands on the log, waiting for Chief and they began to walk through the jungle.
"We should go to earth one day." Tatsumi said as he looked at the environment.
"Unfortunately, Shambhala could only transport a limited amount of people." Najenda said.
"But can Delta teleport us?" Dorothea asked.
"Unfortunately, only me and Queue Fives could only do that." Delta answered, earning an aww from Dorothea. "But I can build a teleporter to Earth."
"Really?" Dorothea asked.
"Yes, really Reclaimer." Delta repeated in a respectful manner.
"Thanks!" The former bloodsucker exclaimed.
Sergeant Johnson: "Bravo Team, this is Johnson. We got him. Fall back to the extraction point. Over."
G. Sgt. ReynoldsCOM: "Roger that. Reynolds out."
A Jiralhanae howls off in the distance.
"Oh, I sense that we're in for a big battle." Leone said as she was shaking in excitement.
Marine #1: "That sounded close."
Marine #2: "Yeah, too close."
Sergeant ReynoldsCOM: "Johnson, you be advised. Hostiles are -{static}- on the move -{static}-. I've got eyes on a -{static}- Brute Pack -{static}-. Over."
Sergeant Johnson: "Say again, Gunny? You're breaking up."
There is the ominous whisper of gravitational drives as a Phantom flies overhead above the trees.
Marine #3: (whispers) "Sergeant Major, Phantom inbound."
Sergeant Johnson: "We stick together and we're gonna get spotted. Let's split up, meet back at the LZ. Chief, you and the Arbiter head toward the river."
"Understood." Kurome said as the readies her carbine.
Johnson and Second Squad cross the river above the waterfall and run out of sight. The Master Chief and the three Elites take charge of First Squad. The four climbs up onto some rocks around a pile of fallen logs, while First Squad waits to go straight over. They spot a Jiralhanae Captain Major accompanied by a squad of Unggoy.
Jiralhanae Captain Major: "Spread out, you whelps! Find them!"
Marine #3: (whispers) "Up ahead! Single Brute, plus backup!"
Marine #3: "He's got power armor, Chief! Take down its shields before you close!"
"If you say so." Chelsea said as she punched the Brute in the back and kills him with a shot from her Carbine.
This alerted the Brute's Unggoy troops, but were quickly dealt with by the other. First Squad provides assistance for the Chief. After killing the Covenant patrol, they regroup.
"I feel like there's more to that." Tatsumi saw as he saw the players switching their secondary weapons to plasma pistols.
As they were doing that, A couple more Phantoms arrive and deploy additional lances of Unggoy and Jiralhanae. After clearing these enemies out, the Chief and his allies form up at a winking flare at an underground cave.
Marine #3: "These Brutes are tough."
"Yeah, I can agree with that." Wave agreed.
"At least we won't have to deal with them in real life." Tatsumi said as he knows that Brutes can easily kill him and everyone else with or without their Imperial Arms.
"But won't Incursio's evolved form can withstand their attacks?" Mine asked.
"Yeah, I better not gamble with it." He sighed as he only got ninety uses left.
Female Marine #4: "Grunts ain't no slouches either."
Marine #3: "Maybe the Brutes put something in their tanks."
Akame frowned when the Marine said that. She still remembered what Kurome had gone through. Perhaps they were drugged by the Brutes. She shook that thought off and looked at the screen to continue to watch the gameplay.
After advancing through the caves, the team enters a massive forested expanse and finds the "Grunt Camp". Sleeping Unggoy litter the first half while a few Jiralhanae, Kig-yar and other Unggoy patrol the far hills.
Marine #3: " Jackals, on the ridge! Stay low; looks like they've got carbines."
"Great, wonder how they'll be like." Mine said as she still harbours a bit of hate to the Jackals.
"Well, at least they're not that overpowered." Tatsumi said.
As they walked towards the waypoint, a Jackal sniper spotted them, which then alerted the others. The four soon went to cover since they absorbed a lot of damage.
Marine #3: "I hate it when I'm right!"
"I can agree with you with that." Mine said.
A large battle erupts in the camp. Additional Covenant reinforcements enter from the next area, but all fall to the team. They regroup near the exit.
Sergeant JohnsonCOM: "Pelicans are en route, Chief, but I can't reach Bravo. If you find 'em, get 'em to the extraction point."
Beyond the encampment, a Jiralhanae Captain is torturing Sergeant Reynolds on a log. Several other Covenant troops are nearby.
"We should save him." Lubbock said.
"I got you." Chelsea then fires a plasma bolt which then disables the Brute's power armour and then kills it with her carbine.
Everyone was alerted, but soon were eliminated by Chief and the others. As they cleared the area, Reynolds speaks with the four.
Sergeant Reynolds: "Brute Chieftain. A Phantom. Pinned us down... killed my men."
First Squad cross the log bridge, clear out additional Covenant troops, including another Jiralhanae Captain and continue on until they reach another cave.
The four and the rest of the UNSC squad continues forward and heads into the cave. They move down a steep slope and enter an underground cave leading to the river where Johnson has established an extraction point. The four's vision suddenly distorts. Purple lines flare across his view and the face of Cortana appears.
"What the-!" Lubbock said as Chief's movement slowed down.
"Oh right, this will be common Reclaimers." Delta said.
Cortana (Cortana Moment): "Could you sacrifice me to complete your mission? Could you watch me die?"
"Okay, how the hell can she talk to the Chief if she's not there?" Leone wondered.
"Maybe it's telepathy." Run guessed.
"Tele-what now?" Wave said as he never heard of it before.
"It's communication within the head." Run clarified.
Marine #3: (looks back) "Sir, you okay?"
Marine #4: (concerned) "Your vitals just pinged KIA."
"Hold on….." Tatsumi said.
"This is getting too confusing." Mine said as she rubbed her forehead.
"This might be stuck in your head for a while, Reclaimers." Delta sighed.
Charlie Foxtrot
First Squad leaves the caves; the river is around the next bend. Three Marine corpses are scattered on the ground, with BR55HB SR Battle Rifle ammunition and Fragmentation Grenades. Everyone payed their respect to the fallen marines before they picked up their ammunition to continue with the mission.
Sergeant JohnsonCOM: "Chief, Pelicans are at the river. We've got company, so hustle up!"
Beyond the steep slope is a river substation next to a raging river. A pair of Pelican dropships hover above the river as gunners in their troop bays fire upon a cluster of Covenant troops that have tunneled themselves in the substation.
PilotCOM: "Hold on. Got a contact."
As the four and their allies take out the Covenant forces that are closest to the Pelicans, two Banshees streak in along the river.
"Uh oh." Lubbock said.
PilotCOM: "Banshees! Fast and low!"
Echo 51 PilotCOM: "Break off — now!"
The Banshees fire their fuel rod cannons at the Pelicans, and score direct hits on both. Explosions cascade over the Pelicans. Echo 51's wingman collides with Echo 51.
Echo 51 PilotCOM: "Watch yourself!"
PilotCOM: "I'm hit! ARRGH!"
Echo 51 PilotCOM: "Lost a thruster. Hang on!"
Sergeant JohnsonCOM: "Get a hold of her!"
Echo 51 PilotCOM: "Negative! We're going down!"
Both damaged Pelicans streak away around the river bend in a futile attempt to escape. Echo 51's wingman loses altitude and immediately plunges into the river beyond the dam, most likely drowning all of its occupants. Echo 51 manages to clear the river, but skims the top of a cliff, flips over in the air, and crashes out of sight.
With their evac gone, the Master Chief, Thel 'Vadam, the two elites, and the Marines fight to secure the substation, defeating two waves of Jiralhanae-led Covenant reinforcements.
Marine #3: "Banshees are gonna circle back. Let's head into the jungle, sir."
The Chief and his allies re-enter the jungle.
Sergeant JohnsonCOM: "Chief, can you hear me?...(static) My bird's down. Half a klick -(static)- downriver from your position."
As they enter the area-
ZOOM
"Oh crap!" Lubbock said as he went to cover while low on his health bar.
"Great, now they have Jackal Snipers." Mine groaned in annoyance.
Marine #3: "Jackals. On the ridge. Stay low. Looks like they got Carbines."
"Carbines? More like Beam rifles!" Mine yelled.
After the four pass through the short Kig-Yar-laden "Sniper Alley", they see a bridge. Three Marines are crossing it, under heavy fire, retreating from the wreckage of Echo 51. They hear Johnson's voice over the COM unit as a Jiralhanae leads a charge against the fleeing Marines.
Sergeant JohnsonCOM: "Come on, you dumb apes! You want breakfast? You gotta catch it!"
"You tell 'em Johnson!" Leone cheered for his badassness.
Johnson and some of the Marines frag the Jiralhanae and the other Covenant troops on the bridge, and run off into a cave.
The four encounter many hostiles, including a Jiralhanae Chieftain on the side of a Phantom, who flies off when either his gunner or many of his troops are eliminated. The Chief and 'Vadam secure the area, and discover Echo 51's crash site by the riverside. The crashed dropship, lying on an outcropping along the valley wall, is surrounded by assault rifles, battle rifles, a sniper rifle, ammunition, and Fragmentation Grenades. The Pelican's radio is still operational.
"Better pick up this." Kurome said as she picks up the sniper rifle.
"Hmm, that might be a good idea." Esdeath said as the sniper will be very useful further up.
Not wanting to waste time, The Chief and his allies head up a slope, clear out more Covenant, and arrive at another cave.
Marine: "Sergeant Major went this way, Chief. Through the cave."
The four leads the surviving marines through the cave and into a narrow section of jungle. They soon arrive at a clearing.
Quid Pro Quo
(Cutscene)
At the end, the Master Chief and 'Vadam reach a low cliff, viewing a Covenant-held dam. 'Vadam spots the Jiralhanae Chieftain beating Johnson on the far left in front of a small building.
Thel 'Vadam: "See how they bait their trap?"
The Chieftain roars at Johnson. Johnson punches the Chieftain in the stomach….
"Aww great." Mine said as this reminds her of a certain person.
…With no effect.
Thel 'Vadam: "I will help you spring it."
The Chieftain growls loudly and kicks Johnson back inside the "prison".
(Gameplay)
"Kurome." Esdeath looked at her subordinate.
"Got that." Said girl aimed her sniper rifle at the Chieftain, which then deactivated his shield and took off his helmet. But before the Chieftain could even activate his invincibility device, she shot in him the head and was dropped to the ground.
With the Chieftain out of the picture, the proceed to cross the bridge, killing any Brute, Grunts and Jackals in their way.
.They finally reach Johnson, who's been tied up and imprisoned behind a plasma shield.
Sergeant Johnson: "This isn't as fun as it looks. Cut the power!"
Lubbock then deactivates the plasma shields and Johnson breaks free from his bindings and stands up.
"Good thing that didn't happen to me." Lubbock thought as he knows what happened to his other self in another universe.
Sergeant Johnson: "We're even, as long as we're only counting today. Kilo 023, what's your ETA?"
HocusCOM: "Imminent, Sergeant. Find some cover. Gotta clear a path."
Sergeant Johnson and the Marine survivors grab Covenant weaponry from nearby crates. The four did the same and picked up new ammunition.
Sergeant Johnson: "Roger that, Hocus. Friendly gunship, coming in hot!"
Two Phantoms arrive, carrying reinforcements. The four, Johnson and any accompanying Marines engage the newly-arrived Covenant troops. The Phantoms hover over the river, their Unggoy gunners opening fire with their plasma turrets.
"We're really outnumbered now." Chelsea said as she shot a grunt with her carbine.
"Don't worry, reinforcements will soon arrive." Esdeath assured as she ducks back to cover.
Sergeant Johnson: "Hocus! Phantom!"
HocusCOM: "I see 'em! Standby. Going loud. Everyone down!"
Pelican Kilo 23 rounds the river bend, directly in front of the two hovering Phantoms. Hocus, Kilo 23's pilot, lets loose a missile barrage, etching the air with vapor contrails as the first Phantom explodes in a brilliant coruscation of light.
"Hell yeah!" Leone cheered.
"Now that was one explosion!" Lubbock said as he watched the phantom get destroyed.
HocusCOM: "Scratch one Phantom!"
If any ground forces remain, Kilo 23 will take them out. Kilo 23 fires two missile barrages at the second Phantom, and sends it plunging into the river.
HocusCOM: "Scratch two!"
Hocus lowers the Pelican to the dam for pickup. Johnson, the Master Chief, 'Vadam and any remaining Marines board Kilo 23.
"Let's go." Kurome stated as she boards the pelican.
"This was one hell of a mission." Lubbock said as he boards the Pelican.
Esdeath and Chelsea did the same and soon they trigger a cutscene.
(Cutscene)
Kilo 23 takes off. Johnson gives the Chief a pat on the shoulder appreciatively and goes into the cockpit. The back hatch closes and Kilo 23 flies over the first dam, en route to Crow's Nest. The view cuts to an area in the jungle. Sentries on watch in the jungle spot Kilo 23 on approach.
"Wow, looks like they have the same idea as us." Tatsumi commented as he looked at Crow's Nest location.
"Seems like they call it Crow's Nest for a reason." Chelsea said as she licked her lollipop.
"I think we got another idea for another base." Najenda commented as she makes an idea in her head.
Marine Sentry: "IFF confirmed. Contact is Pelican Dropship Kilo 23. Over."
Crow's Nest ControllerCOM: "Roger that. What's the word, Kilo 23?"
HocusCOM: "Sierra 117 on board. Request priority clearance. Over."
The two Marine Sentries bump their fists and smile.
Tatsumi and Lubbock did the same as the players put down their controllers.
Crow's Nest ControllerCOM: "Deck's yours. Come on down."
Kilo 23 descends into a hole in the ground. Fade to black.
Level ends.
"Oh man, even if it was the fist mission, that left one hell on an impression." Leone said.
"Yeah, and I cannot wait to play the next few mission." Chelsea added as she cannot wait to play another mission.
"Well, then, since this is a UNSC base, I know who shall play the next one." Najenda said as she looked at four certain people.
The four sighed and soon Tatsumi, Akame, Mine and Leone picked up the controllers to play the next mission.
