SIMBA
"So that's your big plan to sit and wait until you miraculous run into Sarafina and the others?" ugh, why eh hell was he back, and of now of all time when I'm trying to think? Is it weird to say I've oddly gotten used to hearing his voice playing in the back of my head? Yes, I thought so. "That could work to a fault."
"And what fault would that be?" I made sure Nala was out of earshot. She was dragging behind. The better part of me knew we should rest for a moment. We had been moving for a while, we completely reentered and left my old home, without even a notice. it's better that way, that way I won't second guess myself. Force me to rethink everything. It was too easy for me to doubt myself. But a part of me, I have to admit, thinks I'm going crazy.
I mean, wouldn't you think the same way too? and for me to now feel...unbothered by the appearance of my dead uncle, whether it be hearing his voice in my head, or me actually seeing him come into fruition, make me believe I'm becoming unhinged.
"Say you caught up with them, good. Then what? Do you honestly think that what Nala said about them believing and following you would be true?" if I hadn't look to the side of me I'd think my uncle was walking right beside me.
"Why wouldn't it."
" Am I the only one here remembering how you abandoned them"
"I didn't forget that either Scar, alright."
"And if I stand correct, from the ever-growing knowledge I know now being dead and all, was that you left the moment you saw, my son, storming back to pride rock. I mean it must have been something. I think I would have been taken aback too if he came storming in with a gouged-out eye, ripped mane, and bitten off tail. kings, just thinking about it now makes me shiver."
"Stop it." what was he getting at?
"You ever wonder how he got those injuries?"
"He was attacked, obviously."
"And by who?"
"Does it matter? he got away."
"I'm just stating the obvious here, you knew your mother and the lionesses were at priderock."
"Are you telling me Nala did that to him?" that's impossible. She's strong but she's not that strong. "and why?"
"Your guess is as good as mine, I mean aren't you a little bit curious?"
"No."
"well,I want you to have an even playing field, get rid of any weak links."
"Excuse me?" I know it must have looked like I was arguing with myself. "You are the last lion in the fucking pride lands that I would believe wanted me to have an even playing field. I'm doing to kill your son."
"You're right I admit. I was wrong in my ways of rising you both I see that. You could see being in the afterlife I've found some...clarity. I was wrong in a lot of things, rising ruthless sons was the only thing I seemed to have gotten right, in the sense."
"You made us each other."
"Hate outlasts everything, it's more powerful love and it fuels action. Just think pf it, not too long ago you had resided the pridelands t the back of your mind. you'd let that memory die with you, never to be spoken of again. that was until you heard about your mother and your brother's terrible fate. Fear caused you to run away, Hate to causing you to return."
"I should have never let them..." I was taking myself more than anything. the regret I feel is unbearable. I'll die with this weight on me.
" if you would like to know something, I did plan on giving pride rock to you." was this shit suppose to make me feel better or something? " But As I think of it now, Simba you will never defeat my son. Not true."
"Why, because I have a very vivid image of my ripping his throat out. And that's all I need to keep me going."
"But you're no cub killer."
"what? cubs have nothing to do with this."
"Sure it will, once you kill my son you'll have to kill every one of his followers, and decedent, even the innocent ones. why do you think he killed his own brother, and your brother hmm, how would have family tree work out then?"
"Because he's a fucking monster."
"A precise and thorough one. He leaves no stone unturned. which means if you want all of this to end you must be just as Nuka is."
"I'm doing what's right. Avenging my pride is the only thing I want to do, they will handle everything after themselves." why was he still here, I wish there was a way for me to dull his voice, but I can't.
"Or what you think is right, it's been two years I'm two some are rather happy to see him on the throne than you. hell, you showing up might just ruin their little lives."
"Am I suppose to care about, my enemy?"
" you should care about eh influence of your enemy? now when I was alive the hyenas numbered in the '30s. their numbers have to have fallen. ow, the idiots. But the scum is loyal." what the hell is that supposed to mean?
"They foolishly followed Nuka."
"And they foolishly follow him into battle. I promise you Simba, death by hyena is not a pretty way to go. Look, all I am saying is this. If you think you can take down a damn king, without becoming one yourself. Then you're stupider than I thought."
"If you're saying I'll become like you, then you're wrong."
"Simba, we are nothing but the product that raised us. you think you're better than Nuka or me, then you're wrong. Believe it or not, I too thought I would be better. Better than my own father who imposed a rash rule. believe it it's easier to fall in line with what you know, then stray and try to force yourself into becoming something you're not. you are my son. and believe me, as your father I know exactly how this path will lead you to-"
"you don't know a damn thing about me Scar I'm not like you"
"Oh, how I wish you'd listen to your dear old uncle."
"back off!"
"I'm telling you, son, once you make your first real kill, murder whether it is for the good of your pride or not. you'll never be the same again. It happens to every weak and or broken soul that stumbles upon the glory of feeling ultimate power. You'll get used to the feeling and you'll want to feel it, again and again and again-"
"Simba!"
"What?" I turn startled. I had heard Nala voice shouting and I expected her to be close to me. she was farther away now it seemed.
" We need to break."
"But it's not sundown yet, we can still kill a few more miles."
"But it'll be sundown soon, and we'll need some type of shelter, look." she noticed her direction up towards the sky. It would be on the verge of possible rain. shit. "we can pick up in the morning, it'll probably clear then."
"I'm pretty sure we can make it a few more miles."
"Then you'll be walking in the cold."
"The cold never hurt anyone."
"Whatever Simba." what was with her? it wasn't then when I looked at her, his left shoulder was completely swollen. great. 'weak link' she was trying not the stand on it. I know this is a way of her saying she needs a break. "nevermind let's keep going."
"No, you're right. it's getting late anyway. We'll find shelter."
"Thanks.'
