This is Part III of the New Years Update. Last time, with some aid from Birth, OOO was restored and the Kyoryu Greeed was destroyed. And now, we enter the story arc for the first Rider in the revival. It's time at last for Kuuga to enter the arena, and just in time for a wedding! So how's this going to go down? Read on to discover...
(Our story resumes as joy fills the air, permeated with the sound of bells ringing across Warfang, as a most joyous occasion is on the horizon, as Spyro and Cynder are about to be joined in matrimony. As the celebrations ring out, we transition to the Temple, where in separate wings Spyro and Cynder prepare for the ceremony, Woz and Tsukuyomi flanking them, as we specifically focus on Spyro, who is sweating buckets right now)
Woz: My Lord, why are you so nervous? This is a joyous occasion for you and Lady Cynder, the ultimate declaration of your love for one another. You know beyond belief that you two were meant for one another.
Spyro: You're right, Woz. But something about everything is just driving me to sweat buckets. I know Cynder and I are in love, but are we really meant to be together eternally?
Woz: You're worried the flame will die? Nonsense! From the time I've known you two, the fire of your love will be as strong as it is now for a thousand years. You will probably die before it does. (Thinking about what he just said) That wasn't very encouraging was it?
Spyro: I get what you were going for. Thanks.
Woz: It is my pleasure.
(With that, we transition to Cynder, who while not sweating buckets, is a mix of nervous and melancholy)
Tsukuyomi: (Seeing something is up) You okay, Cynder?
Cynder: Just a little nervous about what's to come.
Tsukuyomi: The wedding I'm assuming.
Cynder: No, the last of Malefor's forces. If I know him like I think I do, he saved his strongest for last. We really need to be on our guard.
Tsukuyomi: Cynder, if it helps, think of it this way. Every Kamen Rider you two have ever met is going to be here. If those fools try anything, they'll face a force unlike any they have probably ever seen before.
Cynder: True.
Tsukuyomi: So lighten up a bit. And since undoubtedly your past is going to get involved and try to guilt you out of this wedding, don't listen to it. You've earned this happiness. The last few weeks I've spent working with you and Spyro, no matter how distant I seemed, have proven that to me. I may not know your entire backstory, but I know it's haunted you. But now's the time, I think, to move past it, and not let it hold you back from the future you deserve.
Cynder: (With a tear in her eye) You know what, Tsukuyomi? You're absolutely right.
(With both the bride and groom now assured in their future, we transition to just outside the Temple, where an army is amassing. An army of Grublins led by N-Daguva-Zeba, Apollo Geist, and Oma Zi-O, staring down the temple)
Apollo Geist: Looks like there's festivities to be had.
N-Daguva-Zeba: Celebrating the defeats of our comrades perhaps?
Oma Zi-O: No. It looks more like a wedding to me. Because of course the purple brat is marrying Malefor's former servant. The almost perfect chemistry they somehow have is sickening to me. But this will make the perfect time to strike, being too distracted by the festivities to notice us.
Apollo Geist: Don't forget, they have the other Ridewatches. They can call upon the Kamen Riders they've already allied with in a snap if needed.
Oma Zi-O: None of which have any chance against the three of us put together.
N-Daguva-Zeba: Unless they find him. My counterpart is the only one they haven't encountered yet.
Apollo Geist: Kuuga is a recluse of renown. I doubt he's going to appear.
Oma Zi-O: Regardless, we must account for the possibility. Dispatch a legion of Grublins to search the surrounding swamp for him.
Apollo Geist: It's a waste of forces. We need all the force we can get for the attack!
Oma Zi-O: Perhaps you didn't hear me. (Grabs Apollo Geist by the throat) DISPATCH A LEGION OF GRUBLINS TO SEARCH THE SURROUNDING SWAMP FOR HIM! (Drops Apollo Geist)
Apollo Geist: (Rubbing his neck) Did you really need to do that?
Oma Zi-O: Apparently I did.
(As the three villains continue their planning, we focus in to the opposite side of the Temple from their location, revealing a man in black, with what looks like a red and yellow letterman jacket draped over his arm, looking on somewhat surprised at the scene)
Kuuga: So the other me wasn't lying after all. (Throws the jacket on) Maybe then we can trust Decade after all, despite the fact that he tried to destroy the other Riders' worlds before. Time to give the kid a chance.
(With that, Kuuga descends into the swamp just as Apollo Geist relents and sends a legion of Grublins into the swamps, as all parties prepare to converge on the Temple. After a few seconds, Kuuga realizes the Grublins have found him.)
Kuuga: Looks like I've got a little company to deal with first.
(And as Kuuga starts fighting the army of Grublins, our tale ends for today)
This concludes Part III of the New Years Special. For the finale, head on over to the Mortal Kombat Intros. Yes I know, this is honestly the weakest start for an arc since Kabuto, fitting since neither the original Kuuga nor the original Kabuto have reprised their roles. Speaking of roles, I was a little conflicted for this arc regarding which Kuuga to use: the original Yuusuke Godai, or the A.R. World Yuusuke Onodera. Ultimately I decided on Godai, but I had to reference Onodera at least once, considering Kuuga and Decade are, spoilers, going to share an arc. So speaking of, now that we've set our scene, how will this wedding end up going? Tune in next time to find out! Same time... same channel!
