Her lips pursed in concentration, her pencil hovered over the puzzle as she thought about the answer. Absently, she took a bite of rice, chewing it slowly before she grinned triumphantly and scribbled in a few numbers.

It was lunch time and for the first time in ages, she was spending that time with a leisurely activity and a somewhat decent meal. Never mind that she wasn't really hungry or that her desk was piled with lists upon lists of things that needed doing. Never mind that technically, she was supposed to be with Sesshoumaru this afternoon, or that her mother had called a million times with questions about the baby, questions about Chocolates, questions about Sesshoumaru and, of all people, Sesshoumaru's father. As if she would have answers about him!

So she had canceled last minute with Sesshoumaru, locked her phone away in a desk drawer and closed the shop for an hour as she sat outside, despite the chill, and enjoyed her lunch and the newest book of Sudoku. So far, she had only completed a handful of the puzzles but she had only had the book for a few days.

Spotting an opening she knew, Kagome scrawled in another number, and was about to do another, when the book and pencil were suddenly gone from in front of her.
