Hello:
I have started to re-watch certain episodes of Siren. I had stopped with the end of a confusing 3rd season. Then when it was cancelled, well…anger dictated my actions.
I realize, the actors of this series, especially our favorite trio are just plain excellent at their craft.
Also came the realization, I do have a favorite character on this show.
We'll talk (in writing) about that later.
Chapter 54
Evil always returns
One week after the incident at Puget Sound
A haze covers the bedroom, as a lone figure lies in a state of ecstasy. As she squirms pushing the white bedsheet to the floor, dark eyes flutter. Slender shoulders roll as her chin turns to the side. The nude form contorts as large hands grip her erect breasts.
Moist lips open as a continuous mon keeps time with the thrusts to her lower body.
She feels the sparse hair of his chest mop the perspiration covering her skin. A drop of sweat plunges into her eye. A sting of salt burns through her vision as the face becomes clear.
"Maddie, I love you." A familiar voice slices through the air and pierces the length of her soul. Pearl white teeth dig deep into his neck. Though done for a brief moment, their grip charges the lover's plunges with a new energy.
"Yes," the voice of the lost lover is soft flavored with a hot breath coating her lips.
"I want your baby. I need your baby." Maddie's words trumpeted for all to here.
"Inside me. I need…" The strain of the declaration has taxed any remaining strength. She lays helpless as his ardor increases.
"I can't live without your baby. I need…" Looking into green eyes, Maddie's chin is whipped by the swinging crucifix.
"I knew it. I knew it. You've come back to me." Tears stream from moist eyelids as her words fuel Joe's passion.
"Yes, you're gonna have my baby. I want you pregnant. I want it…now."
His face contorts as Maddie's hands run up and down the sides of his upper body. It is an action meant to stimulate the climax of this encounter weakening the male's control.
It works all too well.
As the first act to create life fills her body, the loss of control is not singular.
"Yes! Yes! Your baby!" Maddie screams. "Yes!"
Grabbing the figure above her, the energized woman roars.
"Joe, I love you. I love…you."
In a flash the haze is lifted. It is not a dream.
"What!?" Ryn's voice fills the bedroom. She had witnessed this supposed fantasy in its entirety.
The sweat soaked woman struggles to inhale. Atop of her the bewildered expression of Ben sears itself in her vision.
Maddie looks to Ryn, her female lover's expression is not one of confusion or understanding.
Ben moves to the side of the bed, his chin drifting downward. Sweat drips from his cheeks to a stained mattress.
Sitting up, Maddie uses trembling hands to control the tousled look of her hair. The soft curls appear windswept from the reality experienced in the last few minutes.
Ryn stands, her focus frozen on the frightened girl on the bed. She pulls the still dumbstruck Ben from the edge of the mattress and leads him into the hallway.
Maddie remains alone. Her terrified state has dammed the flow of tears.
Ryn has already shown her displeasure over Maddie's decision to stall stem cell therapy until pregnancy. The young biologist's awareness of the behavior and words during intimacy with Ben will definitely ignite the petite lover's hair-trigger temper.
Without bothering to shower, the distraught and fearful young woman takes time to wash her face and shove a head of unkempt locks into a wide brim gangster-style hat bought by her late father. He had commented the royal blue felt fedora is the perfect gift for the girl that has everything. As with most such gifts, Mr. Bishop did not need a reason for the unexpected present.
With one leg in a pair of stretch blue jeans, the hopping young woman hoped to keep her balance as she puts the I-phone to her ear.
This would not be a good time to switch to speaker.
"Helen, I must talk to you." Her lips are as close to the cell as possible.
"Please, Helen. I need to know about Sarge. When he visited you." Maddie's breaths are louder than her voice.
"I'll be right over. I have something to tell you.
"The voice on the phone replies with a simple question.
Maddie's reply is quick and deliberate.
"No! I'll be alone."
She leaves the bedroom and scans the hallway. Rushing down the stairs, Maddie passes a returning Hope and Little Ted. The boy has the physique for a lad of eight or nine. His growth is mirroring Hopes and should be a teenager in months.
"What's the hurry, Mad?" Hope asks.
Little Ted is too preoccupied with the baseball glove and ball his sister purchased for him to notice.
"Oh, I…" A stuttering barrage of shallow breaths fill the downstairs living room. A flustered Maddie gives a half-hearted wave and rushes out the door.
Almost stumbling down the front steps, she looks for her SUV and safety.
100 miles to the West
Maddie is not the only frantic figure rushing to shelter.
Cami speeds through the depths of the ocean. Her expression matches the distraught biologists. The young woman turns her head in hopes of putting a greater distance between herself and the pursuer.
The usual fierce appearance of Ryn's niece has vanished, replaced with a face contorted from horror. Her dread is not for only for herself, but for the tribe she considers as family. Moving in a straight line, her dorsal fin generates enough energy to sail her petite form through a school of tuna. Their senses signal for them to follow Cami..
At any other time, they would scatter in all directions from this hunter of the deep, but now follow in her wake.
Reaching the boundary of her tribe, the panicked expression grows as she stops to signal a warning to those in her vision.
Slender arms wave through the air, as a right hand mimics ripping one's throat apart.
The reaction is the same for all that see Cami as she furiously fights the rush of tuna zooming pass her.
She repeats the motion and opens her mouth in a fit of hysteria.
The young sea maiden screeches.
"Ga'anda!" An explosion of air catapults the word through the current. Though all now know the identity of her pursuer.
Turning, she sees the serpent-like body slithering at great speed heading for her location. Enormous white teeth with sharp tapered ends open looking to rip and devour all in its path. Thick tentacles circle about the creature anxious to ensnare its prey.
Cami waits for the others to join her. For they face an adversary dreaded throughout the centuries. An evil that once attacked a young innocent mermaid, turning her into one of the most dangerous international terrorist of all times.
