Kagome scowled, and leaned forward. "Unlike you, I enjoy taking my time. It's an exercise in relaxation, not speed and precision." She picked up the book and shut it, tucking the pencil into the messy bun that was her hair, and covered the remainder of her lunch. "Now. I came out here to enjoy my lunch break and get away from the chaos that is my shop, my family and just my life in general. And you're ruining it with you pithy little comments that lack imagination and ingenuity. So unless you've got something nice to say, I'd like you to leave."
The demoness sighed but leaned forward as well. "Imagine twenty years from now, when you are…older…and your child is as grown as you will live to see them. And that child tells you, via email, that he has unexpectedly sired an heir. That is all. No explanations as to who the mother is or why the situation is so unexpected."
Blue eyes widened just a little, but still she was not moved. Before she could say anything though, the woman continued.
"Then imagine, that person is human, the very same race that was the cause of your family's downfall and what led to the death of your mating. So you journey to you son and all he has is a file with information, important facts to be sure, but nothing that really matters. So you work through him for a meeting and that person cancels at the very last minute because of an emergency." She stopped, violet eyes narrowed and looked the miko up and down, then at the closed shop.
