Shopping

After that somewhat awkward introduction, Kagome found her not-quite-mother-in-law to be vastly entertaining, if not completely shark like in her humor. The dry comments, the odd type of speech, the somewhat harsh critiques, should have bothered her. Except that they didn't.

"Kagome-chan," murmured the demoness, her voice curiously sly, "We simply must take you shopping! Your clothing is in desperate need of an update!"

Surprised but oddly unhurt by that comment, Kagome looked down at her sweater and jeans, and frowned. "What's wrong with my clothes?" It was actually her favorite pair of jeans and one of her oldest sweaters, soft and well-worn, a shade of violet more rich than the Lady's eyes.

Fuiasu rolled her eyes and stood, holding her hand out for the girl. "They are old and outdated. If you are to be seen with my son you must be dressed properly!"

"Say's the woman who confronts me in what is probably a centuries old kimono," muttered the young woman, but stood. "Besides, who told you I was going to be seen with Sesshoumaru?"

"Come, put your belongings in your shop and grab your purse. Also, very nice insult about my age; subtle and to the topic at hand!" She smiled and hurried the human inside. "Only thirty minutes in my company and you've already risen above a regular human!"
