A/N: Just a reminder…Elliot will not be making an appearance in this story at all. I don't own any of the characters except my own.

Shauna and Eddie got off the plane at LaGuardia and she was nervous about seeing the family. Ed and Kara were picking them up and then they were heading to the 16th, where Diana was. They got their luggage and went outside.

"Hey, Uncle Ed."

"Hey, kiddo. How was your flight?"

"It was fine. Thanks for getting a seat for him."

"No problem."

Ed put their bags in the back of the SUV, while Shauna put Eddie in his seat.

"Hey, Kara."

"Hey."

Ed and Shauna got into the SUV and then he drove to SVU. When they arrived, they got out and went up.

"Hey, Tucker."

"Hey. Is the Boss here?"

"Which one?"

"The one from IAB."

"Yep. She's in with the other Boss and they're yappin' about somethin'. How you doin', Shauna?"

"I'm doing great, Fin. It's nice to see all of you again."

"You too. This is Detective Jeff Harrison. Jeff, this is Shauna Walsh, Tucker's niece. She worked with Captain Edwards in Chicago."

"Nice to meet you."

"You too. This is my son, Eddie."

"Hi Eddie. How old are you?"

"5."

"I have 3 girls. My oldest, Amy, is 6, my middle daughter, Elizabeth, is 4 and my baby girl, Katelyn, will be 2 soon. My wife died, so I have been raising them on my own with help from my parents."

"Accident?"

"Yep. Not too long after Katelyn was born."

"I'm sorry to hear that."

"Thanks."

"I'm raising him on my own too. It isn't easy with one. I don't know how you do it with three."

"It isn't easy but my wife made it look so easy. Are you divorced?"

"No. I was in a relationship with his dad and he just up and left before I even knew I was pregnant. He was lying to me for at least a year. He doesn't even know about Eddie. After he left, he unfriended and blocked me on Facebook, so he obviously didn't want me to know what he was up to."

"That sucks. Did your family help out at all?"

"No. I grew up here but went to Chicago to go to Northwestern. My mom was not too pleased with that. After I left, I never came back until now. My uncle was the one that convinced me to come here for Christmas. I've been thinking about the possibility of moving back here but I guess I want to see how things go with my mom first."

"That makes sense."

Olivia and Diana were watching from the office.

"Maybe you'll have another couple in your unit."

"Wouldn't that be fun? I don't have a problem with it as long as you don't have a problem with it."

"I don't. If she's going to be staying with us, that's not too far from where he lives."

"Exactly."

The two of them came out of the office and Diana kissed Ed and Kara. Then she hugged Shauna and Eddie.

"Olivia, it's nice to see you again."

"You too."

"Thanks."

"Sure. This is SVU. It's nothing much."

"Compared to what I'm used to in Chicago, it is."

"That is what I have heard from others in Chicago."

"I'm one of them."

"I have a couple more at home."

"Do you like working with IAB?"

"It's different. I try working with the Commanding Officers of all the different units instead of against them all the time. SVU has been the least of my worries but I do help out whenever I can. I have heard that my predecessor wasn't the easiest person to get along with but I'm not mentioning any names."

"I'm sure I know who. I wanted to tell you that he was my uncle but if it got out to anyone else that he was, I'd never hear the end of it. I heard the comments that a lot of the ones in our unit were making about what was going on in New York. Most of them said they never would have expected you to join the Rat Squad. They always thought they could trust you."

"Just because I'm with IAB, doesn't mean I can't be trusted."

"I trust her completely."

"Thank you."

"No problem."

"I'm surprised you don't have Kelly."

"Kelly twisted her knee playing basketball in gym class, so Erin had to take her to have it looked at."

"I hope she's ok. Are we going to the Pub tonight?"

"If Shauna is ready."

"I'm not but I guess it has to happen sometime."

"Do you, Hank, Erin and the kids want to join us?"

"Let me check with Hank."

Olivia texted Hank to see if he wanted to go to the Pub for dinner. She also told him to check with Erin.

"No Olive?"

"She dropped the kids off at Denise's this morning and they were all going out for dinner tonight."

"Ok."

Hank texted Olivia back and said it was fine. They would pick her up.

"Hank said it was fine and they'll pick me up."

"Ok. I should get back."

"Are you comin' home first?"

"Yeah."

"Ok."

Diana kissed Ed and Kara and headed back to her office. Ed, Kara, Shauna and Eddie headed to the house. When they arrived, Ed showed them around and where they would be sleeping. Kara sat at the kitchen table to work on her homework and Shauna joined her at the table. Ed put the TV on for Eddie and then the doorbell rang. Ed went to answer it.

"Hey."

"Hey."

"How's your knee?"

"It's sprained but I get to start my break early."

"Come on in."

"You're up to something, Edward."

"What makes you think that?"

"You look nervous."

"Ok, there is something."

"I knew it."

"Come with me."

Ed took Erin into the kitchen. Kelly followed and sat with Kara.

"Oh my goodness, Shauna!"

"Hey, Aunt Erin."

Erin wrapped her arms around Shauna and hugged her.

"This is my baby, Kelly. Kelly, this is your cousin, Shauna."

"It's nice to finally meet you. I've heard a lot about you."

"I'm sure it was nothing good."

"Yeah, it was all good."

"How'd this happen?"

"It happened when we were in Chicago this last time. She and Diana worked together in Vice. She's now a Sergeant."

"Oh, wow! Just so you know, none of us blame you for doing what you did. Does Patty know she's here?"

"Not yet. We're going to the Pub for dinner. That's not all."

Kara went to get Eddie.

"This is her son, Eddie."

Shauna explained for entire situation to Erin.

"That sucks."

"Do you think everyone will think any less of me because I'm a single parent?"

"No, not at all. I think everyone will be glad you're here. How long are you here for?"

"We leave on the 6th."

"We have a lot of catching up to do."

"I'm seriously thinking about putting a transfer in and working in SVU here but it depends on how things go with Mom. I've talked to Dad and my siblings but it was Mom that was keeping me away."

"We're a stubborn family. That's all I have to say. You're staying here with Ed and Diana?"

"Yeah. If I decide to come back, I'd rather stay here for a while."

"I hope you do come back. I'll even come help you pack of you want."

"Ok, great."

"Just because you know about this, I don't want you to go over to the Pub and tell everyone."

"Would I do that?"

"Yes. You have a big mouth."

"You said it, Uncle Ed!"

Erin gave Kelly a look.

"You're lucky I'm not grounding you right now."

"The entire family knows it."

"So, what happened, Kelly?"

"I sprained my knee playing basketball in gym class."

"That's not fun."

"I love basketball but I get to start my break a little early."

"That's always fun."

"Kara sprained her ankle a couple months ago."

"Yep, I did and it's still bothering me a little bit. I am so afraid of reinjuring it playing basketball or even by falling on the ice."

"I don't blame you for feeling that way."

Eddie whispered something in Shauna's ear.

"I don't know. Ask Uncle Ed."

"Uncle Ed."

"Yeah, Buddy?"

"Do you have 'A Charlie Brown Christmas'?"

"You bet we do. Kara, do you wanna take him down and put that in?"

"Sure. Come on."

Kara took Eddie downstairs and put the DVD in for him.

"Thank you."

"You're welcome."

Kara went back upstairs.

"That's his favorite besides 'Eloise at Christmastime'."

"We have that one too."

"Oh, good. He'll be happy."

"It shouldn't be too long until Diana is home, so this is perfect."

"Yeah, it is. He watches it at least once a day."

The girls worked on their homework and everyone else talked, while Eddie watched the DVD. A little while later, Diana arrived at the house.

"Hey, Erin."

"Hey."

"Kelly, how's the knee?"

"It's sprained."

"Just be careful. It has started to snow and the roads are starting to get slippery."

"Oh, great."

"Maybe we should head out."

"I passed Hank on my way home."

"I need to stop at the house and pick up Connor."

"You go ahead and we'll bring Kelly."

"Ok. Thanks."

"No problem. Be careful."

"I will."

Erin put her coat on and left to go get Connor at their house. Shauna went to get Eddie and then once everyone put their coats on, they left for the Pub. Everyone pretty much arrived at the same time.

"Hey, Kelly, how are you?"

"It hurts."

"I bet it does."

"The latest weather forecast is calling for at least 12-18 inches tonight into tomorrow afternoon."

"Oh, great!"

Hank and Olivia introduced Shauna and Eddie to Noah and Rachel before they all went inside and it was actually pretty empty.

"Hey, Eddie."

"Hey, Patty. Sit."

"Of course."

Patty sat down and then she saw her firstborn.

"Shauna."

"Hey, Mom."

Patty got up and wrapped her arms around her daughter.

"I am so sorry. I should have let you live the life you wanted and not the life I wanted you to have."

"It's ok, Mom."

"It's not."

"It is, Mom."

"Who's responsible for bringing her home?"

"I am."

"You are the best big brother ever!"

"Diana worked with her in Chicago."

"Wait, you're a cop?"

"Yep, I am."

"She always was more like you."

Everyone else came out of the kitchen and hugged Shauna. Shauna could tell Eddie was a little overwhelmed by everything, so she picked him up.

"Who's this?"

"Mom, this is your grandson, Edward Jack but I call him Eddie. He's 5."

Shauna explained everything to the family and then Patty took Eddie from her.

"Aren't you a handsome little guy?"

"Thank you."

"He looks just like Junior did when he was that age."

Everyone sat down and then someone went to put their order in after Shauna and Eddie decided what they wanted.

"Where are you staying?"

"For now with Uncle Ed."

"Ok. Erin, your daughter gets cuter every time we see her."

"Thank you. I think she has missed her daddy though. I know I have."

"Are you moving here?"

"Yeah."

"Does Jay have a big family?"

"Not really. His dad is around but they don't get along all that well. He has actually been getting along with my dad a lot better lately. He's pretty close to his brother."

"Why don't he and his dad get along?"

"Nothing he did was ever good enough for him. He was in the Army Rangers and became a cop. Will is the doctor and does nothing wrong in their father's eyes. He knows about Camille but he has not met her. He loves Owen even though he's not Will's son. Jay was more concerned with what Will thought about us coming to New York than he was with his dad. His dad is just very stubborn and pigheaded. He's worse than my father if that's possible."

"I didn't think anyone could be worse than your dad. I take that back. My former partner is. He was also pompous and self-centered, which your dad definitely is not. I'm sure nothing has changed. Thankfully he's not my problem anymore. I'm just sorry I compared you to him when we first met."

"It's ok."

Olivia kissed Hank.

"I somehow doubt he and I would have ever seen eye to eye."

"Since you were his least favorite person, probably not. Like I have said, I'm glad I have gotten to know the real Ed Tucker. You do have a heart after all."

Olivia told Shauna about all the times Ed had investigated her and all Shauna could do was shake her head.

"If you had done that to me, I wouldn't like you either."

"All because of that ex of his. She was a piece of work. We thought he was going to be alone for the rest of his life. Diana is definitely much better for him."

"He's been good for us too. Kara missed out on so much by not having a dad but that was my choice. Hank was the closest she had to having a dad."

"Hank is a good guy and even though he has a bit of a reputation, he's just a softy."

"That he is."

"Yep."

"Definitely. I've known him longer than most people, so I have seen both sides of him. I also knew his first wife pretty well."

"I never intended for Eddie not to have a dad. It is what it is."

"Do you want more kids?"

"Yeah."

"Would you ever date someone you worked with?"

"As long as it didn't interfere with our jobs. It would all depend on the Commanding Officer and the Department itself. I know you and Jay work together and from what I can tell, Rollins and Carisi are together."

"Dad wasn't necessarily thrilled when he found out. We actually did it behind his back, so he had every right to be mad. He changed his tune about it though. When we transfer here, I'll be with SVU and Jay will be with ESU."

"Yes, Rollins and Carisi are together. I don't have a problem with co-workers dating as long as you can both do your job. Rollins and Fin are working together and Carisi and Harrison work together. As long as you let me know about it. That's my biggest problem. I never disclose my relationships and that always gets me into trouble. Obviously I didn't have to do that with Hank because our relationship didn't directly affect my job. The prior relationships I was in did. I dated an Executive ADA, who was handling SVU cases, briefly and one of the Defense Attorney's found out and outed us. Then I was dating another cop and when he had been charged with rape while he was undercover, a couple co-workers came to talk to him and found me there. And then there was last year when I was involved with a certain person from IAB who was being investigated by my unit. The ADA found out and outed us, so until the investigation was over, I was temporarily transferred out of SVU."

"I told you I could have handled things."

"Yeah but I knew you were innocent. If the same thing happened now, I would still support you.

"Fortunately, no one else in this family would do that."

"I had heard about it but I didn't say anything about me being related to the cop being investigated mainly because the ones I work with could be jerks at times and they were saying a lot of bad stuff about the situation with the NYPD. Knowing the ones I worked with, they would have made my life a living hell. I had also heard about the William Lewis thing."

"That was rough."

"I don't have a problem with co-workers dating either but I leave it up to the individual Commanding Officers."

Diana and Olivia both got text messages.

"Do you have to go out in this?"

"No. The storm is getting worse and the NYPD has advised everyone except emergency personnel to stay off the roadways until they are cleared."

"I wish they would do this in Chicago."

"Yeah, really."

The food came out and everyone ate.

"I guess we should call and see if we can get a hotel room. There are some hotels nearby that are nice."

"You're welcome to stay here."

"What do you two think? Erin, do you have enough diapers for her?"

"Probably not. I think I'd rather stay at a hotel."

"I would too actually. If Kara wants to stay here, that's fine."

"If you and Liv want to see if you can book a couple rooms or a suite, then Hank and I will walk to the Pharmacy down the street to see if we can get the necessities.

"Mommy, can we stay with the Tuckers?"

"Sure."

Olivia called the closest hotel and was able to get a suite, so she booked it. Once Hank and Ed were done eating, they went to the Pharmacy to get whatever they needed.

"Shauna, are you coming with us or staying here?"

"Probably coming with you."

"Ok."

"Mommy, can I stay with Kara?"

"Are you sure?"

"Yes."

"It's times like this when I'm glad we live upstairs."

"Yeah, no kidding. I'm glad not everyone is here either."

"The only thing is, you can't sleep without your teddy bear and the only other thing that you can sleep with to make up for it is me."

Patty went upstairs and got something that belonged to Shauna. Then she came back down.

"Maybe this will help."

"You didn't get rid of my stuff?"

"Nope. For now, Dylan is the only one that still lives with us, so your dad and I ended up taking over the other apartment upstairs."

"Dylan isn't here though?"

"He is spending the next few days in Hartford visiting his girlfriend. He'll spend Christmas Eve with them and then they will be here Christmas Day. Everyone else will be here then too."

"Eddie, this was my teddy bear. Maybe you can sleep with him tonight."

"Ok. Thank you."

"Are you sure you don't want to stay here? Maybe we could talk."

"Yeah, maybe."

"I'll be here too, kiddo."

"Thanks, Daddy."

Jack kissed Shauna on the top of her head. Hank and Ed returned and then they left with Olivia, Erin, Camille and Diana after they kissed their kids. Shauna said she was going to stay. Everyone that was still at the Pub went upstairs and found a place to sleep. Shauna made sure Eddie was settled and then she and Patty went to talk. When the others arrived at the hotel, they got checked in and went up to their suite. Erin went to change Camille for bed and then she fed her, while Hank, Olivia, Ed and Diana talked in the other room.

"If I had known it was going to get this bad, I wouldn't have suggested we do this tonight."

"Maybe it happened this way for a reason. Shauna and your sister needed to talk things out. It's not like any of us are alone during the storm. It could be worse, we could be stuck at work."

"Just like that ice storm we had earlier in the year but thankfully I was still off after my hysterectomy. Ed was at SVU and so was Chief Dodds. Ed was about ready to get into it with him."

"Chief Dodds can definitely be a piece of work."

"The one thing that pisses me off with him is that he still blames you for what happened to Mike and also blames me for not investigating it."

"Fin glares at him a lot."

"I believe it."

"Hank, do you remember that one year when all those cars got stranded on Lake Shore Drive during that blizzard?"

"Yep. Now I can see why the NYPD tells people to stay off the roads. If CPD had done something similar, that never would have happened."

"That's true."

Hank and Diana told Olivia and Ed what had happened.

"Lovely."

"I know, right?"

"Does Jeff know we're not going to be home?"

"I texted him, Olive and Fin. We're supposed to go pick up the puppies on Friday."

"Yeah, we are."

"What kind are you getting?"

"Black Labs. They're brother and sister and we didn't feel right separating them. They're names are Stormy and Misty."

"Do the kids know?"

"They do. We took them to the shelter with us and they are so excited. Hank has wanted to get a dog since he fell on the ice when he was out with Frannie. I wasn't sure but I finally gave in."

"Kara has been wanting a dog for a long time."

"They have the cutest Dalmatian at the shelter we went to. I don't remember the name though."

Olivia pulled up the website for the shelter on her phone.

"Lola."

Olivia showed Diana and Ed.

"She is cute. Maybe we should."

"Yeah, we could."

"You're not an animal person?"

"I love animals."

Diana called and left a message to see if they could meet Lola and then she hung up. Hank got up and went to knock on Erin's door. She didn't answer, so he opened it. Erin and Camille were both asleep. He put Camille in the Pack 'n Play that the Tuckers let them use and then he covered Erin with the blankets. He kissed Erin's forehead before joining everyone else.

"They're both out."

"Ok. I hope I don't need to go in tomorrow."

"Yeah, I know. I'm guessing Kara won't have school. She usually good about keeping up with her homework even if it's closed. Are both of your brothers-in-law speaking to their class?"

"As far as I know. She's been workin' on it since they got the assignment."

"She hates waiting until the last minute to get done with a project."

"I'm glad they decided to talk to Melinda as well. The Medical Examiner's Office got all the body parts that were recovered and had to try to identify people from that."

"Exactly. I remember having to notify the family members of all the police officers that were killed."

"All the memorial services were hard."

"They sure were."

"Are we going to be able to get the SUVs dug out in the morning?"

"Since we left them outside the Pub, they'll be dug out. Being able to go anywhere is another story."

"I think this is supposed to continue to about noon, so we could be here a while."

Hank and Olivia got a text telling them that the Preschool was closed and Diana and Ed got one saying the schools were closed tomorrow but they had yet to make a decision about Friday. Diana texted Kara to let her know and then everyone went to bed. Patty and Shauna had stayed up until 2 in the morning talking about everything.

The next morning, all the guys, including Hank and Ed, got up and went to start shoveling and cleaning off the cars.

"How were Noah and Rachel?"

"They were fine."

Then Noah and Eddie came out.

"Hi Daddy."

"Hey, Buddy."

"Hi Hank. Hi Uncle Ed."

"Hey, you."

"No school for you today."

"Yay!"

Then Bridget's husband pulled up.

"How are the roads?"

"Still pretty crappy but drivable. We were out all night with tons of accidents and one fire."

"I don't miss that."

"Everyone was stuck here last night?"

"Yep. Ed, Diana, Hank, Olivia, Erin and the baby went to a hotel but the kids stayed here. Shauna's here."

"That's what I heard. I can't wait to see her. How's Kelly?"

"It's sprained but she iced it for a while and slept with it up all night."

"This is my grandson Eddie. Eddie, this is your Uncle Jason."

"Hi Eddie."

"Hi."

"Should I ask how things went with Patty and Shauna?"

"They went great. Patty finally came to bed about 2."

"Daddy, can we play in the snow?"

"You don't have your snow pants and you don't need to be getting all wet. You can play when we get home."

"Ok."

The guys finished cleaning the vehicles off and by the time they were done, Olivia, Diana, Erin and Camille had come over from the hotel. Everyone had breakfast and then they headed home before the next round hit. Hank, Jeff and Ed helped Dan with his driveway and then they did the other driveways, while the kids played outside in the snow and everyone else watched a movie inside. Jeff and his parents brought the girls over to play with Noah, Rachel and Eddie. Eddie and Jeff's girls seemed to really hit it off and Jeff and Shauna got to know each other better as well. Hank and Ed both had a feeling that Olivia and Diana were trying to play matchmaker.
