Dipper and Mabel take a look around at the family members on the seemingly familiar sofa, not recognizing their faces nor many memories about them right now. Everyone seems blurry from the twins' perspective, save for Waddles and Soos, them being a little more clearer as they just remembered the more notable connections between them and themselves. Though how they see themselves and each other, the twins just see a blurred image as it feels as such to them.

The twins nodded up at Adeline, having so many questions in mind. And looking at everyone, seeing how dirty, hurt and worn they appear physically, mentally and emotionally, Dipper and Mabel know the first things to ask in their confusion.

"Yeah… we do have a lot to ask about you guys. Who exactly are you people?" Dipper asks inquisitively.

"And how did this all happen?" adds in Mabel with concern, setting aside the scrapbook for now to look through later. "Looks like you guys went through a war or something equally terrible with how messy and hurt everyone is here. And what happened to this place."

"Might as well have been…" mumbles Ty, his eyes facing away from the twins. He was the first to notice that his and sibling's dad is nowhere to be seen since Weirdmageddon was stopped. "Um…" Ty trails off and looks at his moms, siblings and the rest of the family. "Has anyone seen Dad?"

This of course brought almost everyone's attention in realizing Maurice is not present among them. They look and call for his name, but it was not heeded. There was only silence.

"No…" Jessie trails off, her expression crestfallen as was Lillian's and Tanya's. Especially Junior and Ty. They just lost one of the most important people of their life. Again.

Ford sadly surmises towards Ty and the rest of the family. "Since almost everything affected by Weirdmageddon was reverted back to the way it was before… then Maurice is gone. I'm sorry."

"Fuckin' Weirdmageddon bullshit…" Tanya chokes up. Soos goes up to Tanya to give her a comforting hug, like he did years before when her dad died the first time. She hears her phone vibrate as she reaches in her pocket, finding several missed calls and text messages from Kyle and Fredrick, her husbands, wondering if she and the family were alright. Then her beloved corgi Sunny scampers right up to her that brings a smile on her face. "Be right back, need to tell the hubbies we're okay."

Just when they just got him back, he was out of their lives again with no trace in sight. Despite feeling sorrow over this, no one has the tears to shed; having used them to mourn for Dipper and Mabel's seemingly lost memories. And it would be something to look into later when they have more immediate concerns regarding the twins and the ruined home in desperate need of repairs to its former glory.

"Who is Maurice?" asks Dipper with a frown, seeing he must have been important to them.

"Oh, um…" Junior starts, glancing over to the side as if expecting his dad to come back somehow, but that wasn't to be. Junior answers Dipper's question regardless. "He's me, my brother and sister's dad. We…" Junior catches the shaking heads of the adults and withholds mentioning Weirdmaggedon. At least for now. "We lost him just recently."

"And he's one of your uncles. Our uncle, too," speaks Arya, her voice in sorrow, looking at Dipper and Mabel to share who she is.

"Oh man," Dipper sadly voices, yet recalling a moment where he and Mabel were learning about Maurice. "Yeah.. I think I remember hearing that about him."

"Oh yeah… I know that story," Mabel frowns with Dipper.

"And we're your cousins. I'm… I'm Arya. And everyone here are your extended family members. Soos is a friend of the family, but still part of our family." Soos shows a bright smile in response to the inclusion of him.

"I'm Aria." Aria forces a smile on her worn and scarred face.

"Anais here." Anais sniffles and gathers her sisters in a joint shoulder hug. "And me and my sisters are triplets. We're your cousins and so is our older brother," Anais goes up to pat Cormac's arm nearby, "Cormac, or Cory as we like to call him." She then points at Tanya, Junior, Ty, Isaac and Quincy. "Tanya, Junior, Ty, Isaac and Quincy are your cousins too and we've done so many things together this summer you won't believe!"

It brought small yet genuine smiles on the kid's faces despite what recently happened.

"Yeah!" chirps Quincy. "Lots of fun, exciting and dangerous stuff!" Quincy gets the scrapbook and opens it to the page of himself with Dipper and Mabel and Soos. "Like the time we shrunk down to tiny size and stopped Gideon from shrinking my grandparents and Grunkle Stan and Grauntie Carla." He flips a page with a picture of himself and the rest of the cousins in a group photo at the diner on the first day. "And the day you met most of us."

"Me and Cory came here to stay for the summer on Gramps and Grunkle Ford's birthday before we go back to Portland," says Tanya, lightly tapping her five-month pregnant belly. "And in here is my yet-to-be-born daughter, Cadence."

"We first met at Grandpa and Grunkle Stan's birthday party and then saw me more later on," speaks Isaac.

Dipper and Mabel rubbed their heads in unison, intently looking at the pictures and trying their best to remember the moments they shared with their cousins. Something did jog those lost memories in the twin's minds. It was coming back to them.

"Yeah… I think it's coming back to me," whispers Dipper, holding his head as he speaks for the others to hear. "We got to ride in Junior's car that day." He blinks up to Junior. It brought the teen a bright grin on his face that they're remembering him.

"I remember that too! The car with flames!" expresses Mabel with her big bright grin that can light up a room with warmth like it's doing now. She squints her eyes at the cars out front through the broken window, still intact and spotting the flame patterned 2010 Diablo among the other family cars. "There it is!"

Junior and the rest of the family followed him as he bolted outside. He laughs happily as he runs up to his pristine car. "Oh man! My car!" Junior hugs his car's hood. "Still in one piece like the others."

"My car's here too!" Stan goes up to his own El Diablo car, the Stan-mobile. "Oh, I missed you!"

Dipper and Mabel take a moment in pause, beginning to remember more of the memories lost after looking at Stan's car and Stan and Ford themselves.

"Wait," speaks Dipper as he and Mabel walk up to Stan and Ford.

"You two were the first people we met here." Mabel continues for Dipper. "You said your names were… Stanley and Stanford."

It made Stan and Ford's hearts inside swell with happiness, seeing it was working. Dipper and Mabel slowly but surely remembering their family members. Especially their grunkles.

Stan and Ford kneel down to give Dipper and Mabel a tight embrace.

"Yeah.. yeah that's us, kiddos." Stan sniffles, tears streaming down his face. "But you can call me your Grunkle Stan."

"And call me Ford. Great-uncle or Grunkle Ford is great too." Ford speaks quietly, being full of emotion right now. "We're your great-uncles."

Mabel and Dipper pause, then hugging Ford and Stan tighter in remembering them more with memories flooding their minds to fill in those missing holes. But it's not complete yet.

Carla and Adeline walk up to the four, they too have happier tears in their eyes.

"And… we're your Graunties." Carla points to herself then to Adeline. "I'm Carla McCorkle-Pines, your Grunkle Stan's wife. And next to me is Adeline Marks-Pines, your Grunkle Ford's wife."

"But you can call me Grauntie Addi, kids," says Adeline with affirmation.

Again, Dipper and Mabel blink in hearing the familiar names of their great-aunts. The two receiving flashes in their minds that depict the first day they met them. That warm glow of familial love they take to like a moth to a flame.

"Grauntie Carla? Grauntie Addi?" Dipper and Mabel speak quietly before turning to each other.

"How are we able to say things at the same time?" Dipper questions in the direction of Mabel.

"Don't know, but…" Mabel tries to think. It felt so familiar, but something in her mind was blocking the catalyst that could spark more memories to come through. "Nevermind." Mabel beams at the two older ladies. "I definitely remember who my graunties are."

"Yeah. I remember Grauntie Carla always reminding me to shower… And Grauntie Addi showing me the cool scientific experiments her and Grunkle Ford had done together." whispers Dipper as he too goes up to Adeline and Carla with a smile on his face.

The graunties embraced the twins when they knelt down to their level. Without the twins noticing, Carla and Adeline exchange looks at Stan and Ford, the older men sharing the same mindset on the matter in great concern. Having Dipper and Mabel remember each other was going to be more challenging than they thought.

Then suddenly, an old truck drives into the parking lot of the Mystery Shack with a long swerve into a perfect park in front of the stone block and painted white lines. It was Wendy. She gets out of the truck and runs up to the Pines family with relief to see them in her worn expression.

"Oh my God! You're alright Pines fam!" The first person Wendy hugs is Junior and some of the others and Soos. "After everything went back to normal, I had to check up on all of you." Wendy was taken aback in seeing the Mystery Shack in shambles. It was unlike what happened to the rest of the town. "Ah, man… this place has seen better days."

Tanya makes a shushing gesture at Wendy. "Don't mention 'you know what' in front of Dipper and Mabel just yet." She eyes over to Dipper and Mabel still with their grunkles and graunties. Wendy frowns in worry.

"What happened to them?" asks Wendy to the family.

James would be the one to explain to Wendy. James rubs his neck before starting with a quiet sad sigh. "You see, Wendy, Dipper and Mabel defeated Bill but at the cost of all their memories."

"Wait, what? How did…" Wendy is in disbelief. She turns and faces Dipper and Mabel. "They seem alright, though."

"Memory gun to their heads. Dad had to erase everything out of their shared minds to destroy Bill in the mindscape." Shannon lightly taps her head, wiping her eye. "It.. was the only way to stop Bill. We never intended any of the kids to offer themselves as bait, but Dipper and Mabel were the first people Bill brought his attention to. We had no choice, or they would have died for sure."

"I don't blame any of you. This sucks. What happened to Dipper and Mabel sucks the most. They've done so much for us and everyone else in Gravity Falls, so we need to do the same for them," expresses Wendy, her tone quiet in lamentation. She remembers the memory gun but never thought it'd be used again since using it on the Society of the Blind Eye, but the Pines family continues to surprise her. For better or for worse.

"They're just starting to recognize us so it's best to keep helping them remember family first before anyone else," says Jessie while letting out a sigh, then gives Wendy an assuring smile. "We consider you family so you can be one of the first to help them remember."

Wendy nods at Jessie, seeing why that would be the most reasonable approach and the most important. It saddened her to see the twins she regarded as two of the best people to have impacted the town now without memory of anything their family, friends and summer they had together. Wendy knows what must be done as she goes up to Dipper and Mabel, putting on her casual smile and greets them.

"What'dup, dudes!" Wendy waves at the twins. Dipper and Mabel facing the red-head teen with their undivided attention. "You don't remember me right now, but I'm Wendy Corduroy and… I'll help you get up to speed with things with your family; me included." As she thought, Dipper gazes her in awe, crushing on her all over again. Mabel brightly grins up at the teen. "But first, we should all get cleaned up. I missed using a shower and soap."

"I smell like something died," comments Isaac as he sniffs under his armpit and cringes.

The first order of business was getting themselves cleaned up at one of the relative's houses, all of them desperately needing a shower and fresh clothes. On the way, to Soos' surprise, he finds all three journals of Ford's completely intact as if years hadn't passed for them on the ground close to the Mystery Shack; the wear and tear they once had was nonexistent and smelled less of millipedes.

Soos immediately went to Ford and presented the journals to him.

"Um, Dr. Pines, I found these right by the shack." Ford was taken aback to see his journals of over thirty-years of research looking pristine as if time never wore them down. Soos continues. "Strange, they look new and not all messed up, last I saw Dipper carrying it. Wow. It's really been awhile since he last had it." Soos smiles and snaps his fingers. "These can help Dipper and Mabel remember their adventures! We should show them."

Ford immediately stops Soos in his tracks when he places a hand on Soos' shoulder, prompting the young man to face him again. "We will, Soos, but not right now. For now, let's take things slow. Hopefully we can help them remember everything before their birthday and… I'm going to have to call their parents."

"How are you going to tell them?" Soos frowns, only imagining the scene in his mind to take a negative turn than not.

Ford pauses before he simply tells quietly. "I don't know. Yet. But we'll talk about it and see what we should say to them."

Ford and the adults weren't looking forward to that part, not knowing how they're going to tell Shermie, Alex and Dana what happened to Dipper and Mabel. Ford and Stan, along with Adeline and Carla take one more look at the Mystery Shack before heading in the direction of one of the three houses. All the while not telling the twins about the sights of the town. Not yet at least.

At the Prescott-Pines residence….

With everyone having gotten dressed in what they could be given while the stained and torn clothes they wore were being washed and dried, everyone gathered in the living room of the home, some sitting on the couch and floor to get comfortable again after what they just been through. It felt it had been too long since the family had gotten comfortable now that the chaos was over. However, unlike Weirdmageddon, not everything will go away as quickly as it did when the rift was closed for good.

"Now this is a good place. Oh hey, Flannel!" Mabel greets the plaidypus, instantly remembering her as does Dipper as he pets the unique animal.

"And Sunny too!" Dipper laughs as he's being licked by the corgi before Tanya takes her dog back into her arms.

Jessie shows a light smile at the twins as she walks up to them with a pair of rainbow knitted gloves Mabel made for her. "Hey, kids. I'm your good old' Aunt Jessie!"

"And I'm her wife and your additional Aunt Lillian and welcome to our house here. We're Tanya, Junior and Ty's parents," she introduces too. "You have quite a bit of aunts and uncles here in Gravity Falls."

"Such as me, your uncle James and my wonderful wife and your aunt Tara," introduces James with Tara walking up right beside him.

"Hello, kids. We're also Cormac, Arya, Aria and Anais' parents," says Tara with her warm smile.

"I'm your Aunt Shauna with my twin sister and your Aunt Shannon here and my husband and your Uncle Spriggs," included Shauna while sitting in between Spriggs and Shannon.

"Though you knew me as Marcus in the beginning, kids. And for a reason I'll tell later," mentions Spriggs. "And Quincy here is our boy." Quincy giggles with a bright smile he can muster.

"A lot to tell, actually. But it'll be gradual since you two are just remembering us." Shifty smiles in assurance, making introductions himself. "I'm Charlie but my real name is Shifty. Next to me is my husband, Tate McGucket!"

"They're my dads," grins Isaac in regards to Tate and Shifty, sitting upside down where he sat on the sofa.

"Wow! Real big family!" Mabel beams to each one of them. "So you all live in this house? Or was it the wrecked up shack back there?" Mabel thumbs behind her.

"We absolutely don't all live here. Each of us has a house elsewhere in Gravity Falls. Such as mine and Tara's near the lake and Shauna, Shannon and Spriggs' home close to ours, and Shifty and Tate's house in town," explains James in his helpful manner.

"The wrecked up shack belongs to me, Addi, Stan and Carla. Hopefully we can get it repaired and your memories in time before you have to leave for home in Piedmont, California, where your parents, Alex and Dana, and your grandpa Shermie live," shares Ford, having made sure to mention them in speaking about repairing.

Dipper and Mabel pause and think about their parents and grandpa, sounding familiar to them as well as their home town in California. It was almost giving the twins a headache having to remember so much. Yet, it was piecing together.

"Thankfully, I brought the family photo albums!" announces Carla as she places the old mahogany leather photograph album. Carla turns the pages to a young Alex as a boy with James and Jessie in the polaroid picture with him, dated 1980. "Your father Alex is Shermie's son and he used to play with your uncle James and aunt Jessie as kids when we visited them in California sometimes." Carla eagerly flips the page to a young adult Alex with Dana by his side with their college diplomas, dated 1998. "Years later, Alex met your mother Dana in college and settled down in Piedmont to have you both." The final pictures were of Stan and Ford holding infant Dipper and Mabel respectively with Shermie, Alex and Dana there next to them at the hospital, dated 1999.

Dipper and Mabel look at each other with expressions filled with questions to ask, but the image when seeing each other is still blurry in their eyes. They know they should remember each other, yet they can't. They can't and it's frustrating to everyone else trying to help them remember. But they do start recognizing their own parents and grandpa, having known them throughout their lives.

Junior snaps his fingers, just remember the video him and Ty recorded that night at the haunted convenient store. "Hey, Dipdop!"

"Hmm?"

"Um, remember that time you and Mabel joined me, Ty, Wendy and her group to break into the old Dusk 2 Dawn store a while back? Well.." Junior finds the video of Dipper performing the Lamby Lamby Dance in front of the ghosts of Mr and Mrs Duskerton and plays it in front of him and Mabel to watch. When the video starts playing with Dipper singing the child's song in a lamb costume, Dipper and Mabel's eyes grow wide, beginning to remember something about their mom. "Dipdop here performed that song and dance that saved us that night from the ghosts and freed Mabel from their possession."

Dipper shakes his head and gasps, feeling greatly embarrassed from listening to himself singing the 'Lamby Lamby Dance' song and performing the dance in full. "Junior! What the heck?! You actually recorded all that?!" Dipper lunges himself onto his teen cousin to try to reach for his phone to delete the footage, but his noodle arms cannot reach it for Junior's arms were longer. "Delete it! Delete it! I remember my mom now!"

"Okay!" laughs Junior as he keeps Dipper from reaching his phone in panic. "Okay! I never showed this to anyone else but the fam here. Ahaha!"

Meanwhile, Mabel was laughing hysterically on the floor, holding her chest. "Oh goodness! I was too dipped up on Smile Dip I wasn't aware all that happened but boy it was a hoot listening to what happened after! Haha!" Others laughed with her as the laughter was infectious. And something they all needed right now.

When the laughing dies down, Mabel chirps in recalling the memories of her and Dipper's parents. "Yeah… I remember them. I remember how Dad and Mom would do fun stuff with me." Mabel gets the scrapbook and flips the pages. "Kick-boxing, computers, and more! Though… for some reason you're in these." Mabel shows Dipper the images in the scrapbook.

"I see." Dipper rubs his head in frustration, squinting his eyes at Mabel, but isn't recognizing her and a flicker of a blue flame on her shoulder. Mabel saw the same blue flame on her brother as well that no one else can see. "I know we have the same parents, but for the life of me, I can't remember who you are."

Wendy intervenes and places hands on Dipper and Mabel's shoulders each. "Hey, hey. How 'bout we focus on remembering your folks and everyone else and circle back to you two remembering each other later. Okay?" Everyone else seems to agree with her as did the twins.

"I hear that, girl!" supports Mabel, pointing at an older photo of Shermie when he was a younger man. "Like I want to learn more about this older guy who looks like Grunkle Stan and Ford."

"That would be your grandpa Shermie, Pumpkin," says Stan. "He's me and Sixer's older brother. He wasn't around too much, but he's a great guy and you and Dipper love him! You and your folks live close to him so you get to see him often."

Ford lets out a breath, watching the scene reminds him to beckon Adeline and Carla to walk with him in another room in private along with Stan. He walks up to Stan and places a hand on his shoulder and smiles at the twins. "Hey, kids. Gonna need to borrow your Grunkle Stan here along with Addi and Carla for a moment." Ford faces James and Jessie. "How about you both share your times you had with your cousin Alex and uncle Shermie. Help them remember more for awhile."

"Of course, Uncle." Jessie nods at Ford, her and the others watching the four head upstairs to the main bedroom. She beams to the twins. "Now before we help you remember more, who's all hungry?"

Everyone didn't hesitate to be vocal about their hunger, having been so used to eating rations, they're eager for more cooked meals and not what they had to scavenge in the town that was formerly a wasteland of despair and the uncertainty they can survive it.

"Absolutely starving," voices Arya and her sisters.

"Thought so," Jessie grins as she heads for the kitchen with Lillian and everyone else joining her.

Meanwhile upstairs in Jessie and Lillian's bedroom…

Ford was on Jessie's cell phone to speak with Alex and Dana while Stan handles calling Shermie to explain to them what happened to Dipper and Mabel while they sit on the dolphin patterned sheet bed with Adeline and Carla listening close to the conversations being exchanged. Ford and Stan facing away from each other with their respective wives right beside them.

"Uh, hey, Shermie!" greets Stan, somber in tone is his husky voice.

"Stanley! Hey, little brother!" Shermie responds back, sounding upbeat on the other end. "Been awhile since you've called. How've you and the family been? And how are my grandbabies? Won't be able to make the drive to Gravity Falls again, but I am sending gifts from me to them."

"That's all good, Shermie, they'll love what you're getting them I'm sure." Stan pauses as he's hearing Ford talk to Alex and Dana over the other phone.

"Ah, hello, Alex. Dana," starts Ford, doing his best to sound composed.

"Hey, Uncle Ford! Glad you called, we were just thinking about calling you and Uncle Stan." Alex sounds happy as he lets Dana speak next.

"Oh?"

"We won't be able to make it over there for Dipper and Mabel's birthday celebration, but we are sending our gifts to them by mail," says Dana.

"Dipper and Mabel would surely love them." Ford smiles to the thought of seeing Dipper and Mabel happy, the two remembering each other at last, but that has yet to happen. His tone shifts as his expression crestfalls. "Speaking of Dipper and Mabel…"

"Something happened to them," Stan finishes for Ford and responds back to Shermie.

"Wait, what?" The four hear Alex, Dana and Shermie gasp, already thinking some of the worst things that could have happened to the kids before hearing an explanation. Stan and Ford put the phones on speaker so Adeline and Carla may possibly want to add in their own say.

"Long story short…" Adeline takes a breath and knows what and what not to bring up, feeling they're not ready to tell them everything, "there was an accident involving the magical occurrences that happen in Gravity Falls and Dipper and Mabel… they lost their memories. Of their friends. Of their family. And of each other. … We've just started helping them remember who their family is. Including their parents and grandpa. Let me tell you, Dipper and Mabel instantly remembered Waddles when he was licking their faces." When Adeline is finished, Carla voices what's been done so far.

"So far, it's been working and they're beginning to remember family members via scrapbook and family photo albums, but not each other; that seems to be the most difficult for them to grasp, currently. Otherwise, they're physically fine; we made sure of it." Adeline braces herself in anticipation for the negative reaction as did Carla, Stan and Ford.

There was a long pause on the other end of both phones. Alex, Dana and Shermie processing what they just heard them say. Dipper and Mabel have amnesia from a freak accident without more details of how it happened. Dana, a medical professional, does her best to deduce what she could do on her end with her knowledge but magic was outside of her knowledge entirely. Alex and Shermie had no clue on the matter but wanted to help however they can.

"Oh my…" utters Dana on the other end. "Well if it was magical… then I can't determine anything involving magic."

"Something hit them on the head?" wonders Shermie aloud in worry. He didn't want to put blame on his brothers and their wives for whatever incident the kids got into, but at the same time, couldn't help to feel miffed that his own grandkids were possibly put in danger. If he only knew.

"What can we do to help?" asks Alex, understanding that something like his children being affected by amnesia would need to be approached carefully. "Should we send anything to help them remember us more?"

"Hearing your voices will surely help. And you can make sure when they get home to recap with what they have. We aim to have them remember a majority of their memories before their birthday next week." Ford takes a second look at the calendar on the wall, seeing despite having passed during Weirdmageddon, it seems as though time reset itself to the day before everything changed. Except everyone who experienced the whole weirdness catastrophe.

Ford's train of thought is broken when Shermie responds back.

"Of course! With the package I'm sending, I'll include a recorded message from myself." Shermie directs his attention to Alex on the other phone. "We three can even make a video tape. How does that sound with you and Dana, son?"

On the other phone, Alex chuckles, opting for a more modern method in his enthusiasm. "I have a better idea, Dad. We can record ourselves and put it on a flash drive for them to play it on their computer."

Ford and Stan were in silent relief; they're taking it well enough that they aren't yelling or screaming over the phone when it was mostly explained thanks to Adeline's explanation.

"Sounds great to us!" chirps Carla. "We look forward to the package when it arrives."

"Thanks for calling us. We can't blame you guys for what happened to Dipper and Mabel and this matters to us," says Dana. "I'm glad you're approaching this immediately as soon as it happened."

"Of course. We'll let you know when the package arrives and Dipper and Mabel watching it," tells Ford in a lighter tone. "Take care, Shermie. Alex. And Dana. Love you."

"Love you!" Stan, Adeline and Carla bid to them together.

"We love you too!" Alex, Dana and Shermie respond in turn before both phones hang up.

The four let out a collected sigh of relief. Part of them hated leaving out the true cause of Dipper and Mabel's amnesia, but for now, it was for the best they didn't know and give a lie with hints of truth.

Back down stairs….

Wendy sits in between Dipper and Mabel on the sofa among the rest of the family while having a meal made by Jessie and Lillian, most of it already gone from hers and the other's plates from how starved they were for cooked food they missed among other things. Wendy recounting the times she spent with Dipper and Mabel with enthusiasm as she points to the pictures of herself with the twins included in them.

"Now I remember this." Wendy points at herself in her old lifeguard uniform at the community swimming pool, twirling her fork in her hand idly. "Me and Junior were working part-time at the swimming for a short time when you, Dipper, decided to fill in the spot. We had a lot of fun and got on Mr. Poolcheck's nerves that he fired all three of us." Wendy and Junior laughed together and looked fondly at one another.

"A lifeguard, huh?" Dipper laughs beside himself, though it does have him pondering why. "That does have me thinking why I even did that in the first place."

Wendy and Junior exchange looks, figuring they should tell him why as they both knew Dipper was crushing hard back then and he should know this.

"There's… actually a reason why you did it." Wendy rubs her shoulder in telling him. "You had a crush on me and… I crushed you. You're a good guy, but I'm too old for you and you didn't exactly keep to yourself when you think aloud. But at the same time, you really wanted to get to know me and in the end, we became best friends. You'll always be my friend, man." Wendy thinks about showing Dipper the signature gesture she makes when keeping a secret: zipping her lips and tossing aside the zipper, just as her mom showed her years ago.

Dipper frowns, beginning to remember that moment from within his dream a while back when he, his cousins and Wendy were trapped in their nightmares from the Mares having come and inducing said nightmares. And the confession he made in his moment of weakness among all the memories of the times he had with Wendy before Weirdmageddon happened.

"Oh man… yeah." Dipper faces up to Wendy, twiddling his fingers. "I was so scared. In our nightmares, I thought it was actually you having gotten hurt and... I confessed how I really felt about you at the time. I was so awkward, itchy but I felt better afterwards." He hugs Wendy around her waist. "I'm glad we're still best friends." Wendy glad hugs Dipper back. "And couldn't think of a better person to date you than Junior." It made Junior smile brightly, almost making the teen tear up in his eyes.

"Aw… you two really are great friends," says Mabel while looking through the scrapbook. "Hey Wendy, were you and I friends too?"

"Oh for sure, Mabel!" Wendy exclaims, parting her hug from Dipper and turns her attention to Mabel. "You came to me for advice about boys more than once and you, me and the rest of your gal pals and cousins beat the shit out of some jerk unicorns after they made you feel awful about yourself. No one does you dirty and gets away without scars!" Wendy turns to the picture of Mabel with her friends and cousins covered in rainbow unicorn blood and victory posing over the broken and defeated unicorns with fistfuls of their colorful mane.

"Yeah!" cheer the triplets and Tanya.

"We're women! We take what we want!" screams Arya of what she remembered Wendy encouraging all that time ago.

"That was a great time," chimes Tanya in recalling the event. "Kicked unicorn ass and met Cory's pals from the forest."

"Yeah…" Cormac muses and thinks back to his friends, his face growing concern in thought while lounging against the couch on the floor. "I ought to go check on them later."

It is Mabel's turn to hug Wendy now. "I remember, Wendy! You're a great friend to me too and helped me with more than just boys and romance. Those unicorns were major jerks." Wendy returns the gesture to hug Mabel back. Wendy thinks it's great getting the twins back to remembering those closest to them, even if not with each other for now. She and everyone else missed this. Where they're not in constant danger at the moment.

Ding Dong!

The doorbell rang throughout the house.

"I'll get it!" Ty pipes up in offering, letting others to stay where they're sitting for him to answer the front door. He almost reaches with the stump of what used to be his right arm, catching glimpse of sparks accompanied by crackling sounds, he retracts and uses his left hand instead to open the door, silently swearing at himself.

He opens the door to see the friendly and relieved face of Carrie, appearing in her human form and with her mechanical leg now functioning again than it was before and wearing her long sleeved black shirt with dark green cargo pants, studded boots and her accessories consisting of black butterflies with blue speckles on the wings in her short black hair.

"Hello, Ty," Carrie greets her boyfriend with a small smile. Ty returns one when he greets her back.

"Hey, Carrie. Um," Ty is then reminded about Taro he has in his room "I have Taro with me. They're alive and -"

"Taro's still functioning? And you managed to recover them?" Carrie's eyes grew a bit wider in hearing that. She clears her throat and composes herself. "Yanny's gonna be happy to know that. He prepared a small memorial earlier and he's been grieving ever since what happened."

"Ah man…" Ty trails off, his eyes glancing down before looking at Carrie and allowing her inside the house. "Come on in. Taro's in sleep mode in my room."

Upon entering inside the house, Carrie is immediately greeted by the rest of the family when they see her from the living room. All but Dipper and Mabel who don't yet recognize her. She waves at them back before following Ty in his bedroom to retrieve the robot AI dog.

"Who was that?" Dipper and Mabel ask in unison.

"Another friend of yours you'll get to remember soon enough. But I will say she's Ty's girlfriend," speaks Lillian a-matter-of-factly.

"So where do we start with remembering more?" asks Mabel, eager for more information to relearn.

"Let's call over Grandpappy. He'd know a lot about rememberin' since he had to recover his own recently," suggests Isaac in thinking about him. Both his dads give their son agreeing nods.

Throughout the day, Dipper and Mabel got to visit their relative's respective homes in order to remember more and more about each family member and all the good and bad times included. In the meantime, the townsfolk helped rebuild the Mystery Shack in full, hearing about how damaged it is from Carrie and Wendy, encouraging the town to give back to the Pines family for all they have and had done for them over the years and then some more during Weirdmageddon.

The letter 'S' of the Mystery Shack still came falling down, but it wouldn't have been truly complete without that happening. And the Pines family wouldn't have it any other way as they all gaze up at the completed shack.

Dipper and Mabel reminded of their times in the family shack with happiness and excitement in many ways among the terrifying and emotional moments during their stay. Feeling like the shack remembers them too while exploring the inside and out of the property. Stan and Ford riding the old golf cart around to show them the Bottomless Pit, the Bunker and more!

It was until sundown when everyone decided to take a rest and have a family meal like old times. They all almost forgot such moments of content in being together.

Later that night at the Mystery Shack….

Although everything was completely rebuilt within the shack, the rest of the family didn't want to return to their own homes quite yet. It would be one of several nights where none of them would get much sleep from the nightmares that'll haunt them for a while and they feel the need to be physically close to each other for comfort in knowing they're safe and sound and still present.

The adult members of the extended family opt to sleep in the parlor room while all the children sleep in the attic room with Dipper and Mabel. The twins are not minding it at all, yet not knowing exactly why.

Dipper and Mabel toss and turn in their sleep in experiencing the shared dream they're having now. Waddles cuddling closer to Mabel in hopes she'll be okay. The twins mumble almost coherent words in their sleep.

"W-Wai… Staup.." Dipper utters in his slumber.

"H-Hol don…" Mabel drawls while asleep.

Within Dipper and Mabel's dreamscape….

Dipper and Mabel find themselves within a plane devoid of anything but a vast landscape and sky of white that seems to go on infinitely. It was almost devoid of anything except for two flickering blue flames that traverse the land, taking the shape of a humanoid figure that's the size of a child. Exactly the twin's height, though one of them a millimeter taller than the other.

Dipper chases after one flame with a familiar laugh, while Mabel pursues the other as they had a familiar voice. They don't know why they're doing this, but they're strongly compelled to reach them.

"Wait! Stop!" demands Dipper in trying to reach the flame with the giggle it makes, his voice echoing across the void. "I need to know who that laugh belongs to!"

"Hold on!" cries Mabel in trying to catch up, but it seems the land goes on forever and her and Dipper are nowhere closer to the flames than they were.

It all comes to a stop when the two flames meet and collide, causing a great burst of blue flames to disperse the area around Dipper and Mabel. The flames touched the floor and surrounding walls that enclosed around the twins, creating a more grey room and what appeared to be indiscernible features that were severely blurred.

"Wh-What's going on?!" Dipper screams in panic, frantically searching for an escape from the dream, but there is none. Mabel tried the same but to no avail.

"How should I know?!" Mabel screams back at Dipper. They hold each other when the blue flame consumes them both.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"

Dipper and Mabel wake up screaming in fright from the experience of their shared dreams, waking up all their cousins in the room and surely the elder members of the family heard them too and stirred. Waddles squeals and rubs himself against Mabel to comfort her. Cormac and Tanya move themselves over towards Dipper and Mabel's side respectively to check on them.

"Dipper!" Cormac places a hand on his younger cousin's shoulder and brings him into an embrace. "It's alright; it's us." Dipper hyperventilates before he settles down and Cormac lets go.

"Mabel! Hun, you're alright!" Tanya holds Mabel close to her until she too stops and frowns up to her cousin.

"What happened?" groans Aria tiredly.

Knock! Knock! Goes the door on the other side.

"Kids! Are you all alright?" Shauna's voice being heard on the other end. "Please open the door."

Quincy is the first to move towards the door and opens to see not only his mother and father, but everyone else in the house too coming to check on them.

"Mom-" Quincy yawns as he's scooped up by Spriggs and held close while him and the rest of the adults enter the attic room one by one. One of the triplets getting the lights on to shine throughout the room full of emotionally tired kids, teens and two young adults just barely in their 20's.

"Oh thank goodness," sighs Shannon, seeing the kids tired but okay.

Stan and Ford move themselves in front of the other adults in investigating what happened.

"What happened?" Stan and Ford ask together, going up to Dipper and Mabel respectively.

Dipper rubs his tired eyes while recalling the vivid dream. "I… I had this weird dream… being consumed by blue fire and this white void turning into a grey room and then -"

"... Woke up screaming," Mabel finishes and faces her brother. "You were in it! We were trying to chase the fire for some reason. I heard them make familiar sounds. And then we both got burned alive by said fire." Everyone went silent, exchanging looks of dread in their eyes. They knew but not the twins of what it could mean. They didn't want to even think about a part of Bill being a part of the twins now.

"I see…" Ford sighs and hugs Mabel. "If this becomes a recurring dream, let us know. We'll do our best to decipher the kind of dreams you're having and determine their meaning. Could be a good or bad sign."

"Okay, um, Grunkle Stan?" Mabel smiles, not quite remembering everyone yet in guessing Ford's signature name. She wasn't entirely wrong.

"It's Ford, sweetie," Ford corrects, showing Mabel it's alright, "but you're not entirely wrong; my full name is Stanford Filbrick Pines, after all." Mabel hugs Ford's waist.

"I'll remember it soon enough."

"Oof. Sounds like a real crazy dream there, kids. But it's gonna be alright," reassures Stan while sitting besides Dipper and pats the boy's shoulder, making him smile a little and yawn. "If something happens like this again, come to one of us or any of the grandkids here. Family helps one another. How we get through a lot of hard spots going on."

"I can brew up some chamomile tea to help with the sleeping. I was planning to make some for myself anyhow," offers Shauna, feeling the need to make some for herself as she was having nightmares not long ago. She wasn't the only one. Dipper and Mabel exchange looks and nod at their aunt. Shauna looks around to her family and extends the offer. "Would anyone else like some?" She gets nods and voices from everyone in wanting tea. It was a whole mood for all of them.

After everyone gets a nice tall glass of the sleepy tea, they all slumber a little better as they go back to sleep into the next day that is dedicated to help Dipper and Mabel remember more and more about their family with the video Dipper and Mabel's parents and grandfather sent the two, full of old home videos of Dipper and Mabel's earliest childhood memories they shared together. It did ring some bells in their minds, but yet there was something missing to make them whole.

That afternoon while Dipper and Mabel just finished the video from their parents and grandpa, they hear the front door open nearby. And who opened the door unannounced is none other than Maurice himself in the flesh and not a corporeal spectre.

The tall older man with lengthy blonde hair and beard with his red, blue and green bandana made himself known to the twins, and all the rest of the family.

Maurice nervously laughs under his breath and speaks. "Hey, everyone…" Everyone's attention faced him with many, many questions about where he's been and how he came back not as a ghost.

"DAD?!" Tanya, Junior and Ty exclaim together.

"Maurice?" gasps Lillian as she enters the living room.

"The hell you been, Blazer?" questions Jessie, but her grin is pretty telling she's happy Maurice got back again somehow.

And the return of Maurice that made the whole day even better as it was a sweet reunion between him and his wives and children. How Maurice even came back was through a portal of his own making right outside the Mystery Shack.

However, not everything was the same about Maurice as before, physically. Maurice appears much more human to her and everyone else, but instead of the blue eyes he had before, they have since changed to a more vivid orange and the pupils shaped like a burning flame. And concealed within his biker attire, dark orange images mark his skin of an otherworldly nature. But other than those differences, Maurice is still the loving family man he's always been. Even if no longer human -in blood- anymore. The reasons why are unclear for now.

Lillian is the first to notice Maurice's eyes. "Hun, what happened to your eyes?"

"And where did you get these killer tatts from?" Tanya notes one of the marks visible on top of her dad's hand where his wedding band is.

Ford rose up from his seat in suspicion about Maurice's return and the changes to his appearance he can now see from where he stands. He doesn't know what to make of it and neither did his brother, wife and in-law. Maurice was supposed to be dead again after Weirdmageddon and still in Gravity Falls, but he wasn't. A million theories flooded Ford's mind before he was snapped out of his stare off in hearing Maurice explain himself.

"It's a long, weird story. Started with me ending up in a whole 'nother dimension. And…" Maurice's eyes give off a piercing glow, emphasizing the change to him. "I'm not wholly human, in blood, anymore. Full demon here and…" He frowns sympathetically at his three children and unborn grandchild, bracing the reactions of what he's about to announce, "I'll help you three prepare for the changes as this isn't just affecting me, you're included as well as said by the contract that what we have is linked." Tanya, Junior and Ty have no idea what their dad means as their expressions turn pale that shows fear while everyone else is bewildered. Dipper and Mabel more so.

"Wait, what?" Tanya, Junior and Ty gasp at the same time.

"What's going to happen to my grandkids?" Stan narrows his eyes at Maurice in judgement. "And what contract are you talking about?"

"The one my dad made years ago he never considered it would happen, but it will and it has with me and my kid's existence," Maurice answers his in-law, already feeling distrust toward him brewing in the air. "There's nothing I can do to stop what's going to happen, but I'll be around for when it does and I can ease them through it."

"That doesn't sound ominous at all." James crosses his arms, not liking where it may likely go concerning his niece and nephews.

"Is… that a good thing or a really, really bad thing?" questions Quincy.

"Neither. I'm still myself as I've always been. Just different from what all I was told by those who knew more than myself and what my dad ever told me. And what Tanya, Junior and Ty are gonna get from it is something to adjust to I'll go into more detail later," Maurice nods his head at his nephew and then turns his attention right at the twins Dipper and Mabel, putting his hands in his pockets. "As for you two… we're gonna have to talk about something later. I'm sorry to have dumped all of this all at once, but I thought to explain myself clearly and not bullshit the details."

"Now what's going to happen to Dipper and Mabel?" strongly questions Adeline, pointing at Maurice.

"Rest assured, I'm going to talk about it soon with them and all of you to know about it. I imagine the twins still have more remembering to do." Maurice is trying what he can to ease the thick air, but he cannot blame the family after what they and himself had gone through not so long ago.

"... Thanks, Maurice. At least we know you're with us now." Carla shows a nervous smile, her and some of the family not knowing what to make of Maurice and his heavy news he brought with him. But at least Jessie and Lillian believe their husband. And Tanya, Junior and Ty want to put faith in their father as well.

"Why don't we all get something to eat. Who wants to help make dinner for tonight?" Tara asks aloud to defuse the awkward tension. Carla took to that idea like a moth to a flame.

"Yes! I know just the thing to cook tonight!" Carla makes her way into the kitchen with Tara and Shannon to go help her while some of the family members decide to go outside and do something.

While on the sofa in the living room, Dipper asks Maurice who sits next to him. "So… you were a ghost but now you're not somehow?"

"And a demon?" Mabel adds in. In her mind, she sees flashes of demons that were scary and familiar to her somehow. She shakes off the images in making her shudder she wants to avoid thinking of.

Maurice shows a shrug with a small but knowing grin. "Well, it's a long weird story where I ended up in a whole 'nother place than going down… there." Maurice makes a small glance at the floor before sharing his misadventure to be told another time. "It involved a kooky witch of owls, her family, and a little skull-dog demon and talking owl that is also a house on an isle that's really an enormous corpse of a titan the people live on. They were a fun bunch!" He lets out a short laugh in how he emphasized how huge the titan was. "Now in return, I need to get her human things for her to sell. Reminds me a lot like your grunkle Stan."

Dipper and Mabel could scarcely believe it themselves, but it made as much sense as seeing how much their uncle changed since last they remembered him being that day when his dad came to visit unexpectedly. But they find it great he's returned all the same.

"It is all so weird, I'll say but I'm back now and I'm not going anywhere anytime soon." Maurice knew he had to keep quiet about mentioning Weirdmageddon for now until Dipper and Mabel start remembering more. Which will be soon.

"Glad to have you back, Maurice," smiles Lillian while walking past him.

Within that night, the mystery twins have the same shared dream again, but this time, things were becoming clearer within the gray room that it was beginning to resemble more of their attic room. And they didn't scream upon waking up thanks to the soothing tea provided to them and the feeling of safety in their room surrounded by their cousins and aunts and uncles.

The next day after will surely provide the twins much more than they will anticipate.

That afternoon at the Mystery Shack…

Dipper and Mabel were playing a game with their cousins outside in the backyard with the adults watching them.

Ford and Stan believe it is time for Dipper and Mabel to relearn about Gravity Falls and their adventures together using the very journal that started their adventures together.

Ford holds Journal 3 behind his back as he calls over the twins. He and everyone else hopes this will work. It has to. If it even brings Dipper and Mabel's memories of each other back, then it'll be another step closer to them recovering everything.

"Dipper! Mabel!"

In no time, Mabel and Dipper stop what they're doing and run up to their great-uncles and graunties to see what else was in store for them.

"Hey, Great-Uncle Ford!" chimes Dipper.

Ford looks between his brother, wife and in-law before focusing back on the twins and holds the journal in front of him to show them. "Kids, there's something else we want to show you in helping you two remember more with this journal." The twins examine Journal 3 with great intrigue. They knew there was something familiar about it they couldn't explain.

"Journal 3? What about the first and second one?" inquires Dipper with a hum when he accepts the book and opens the first page.

"Trust us when we say that this is the best one to start with," says Stan with a grin and wink.

"Oooo!" Mabel peers into the book and reads it with her brother. "Now what's in this book?"

The twin's eyes grew wide in reading each page about the many creatures of Gravity Falls and their own accounts of their time in town together. There are even pages Dipper and Mabel have never seen before until now with the journal having been fully restored. All the same, a torrent of memories flood their minds, opening many doors that show them a sequence of events that have happened to them and their family in the first half of the summer. That included the friends they made along the way and the lessons they learned. Dipper and Mabel even find pieces of who they once were about themselves.

"I remember…" Dipper laughs as he rubs the side of his head, a tear shedding from his eye. He remembers David, Kevin and everyone he's made friends and enemies with. "I remember I am Dipper Pines. I… I explored the many secrets of this town and the creatures hidden in it. I told everyone my real name is Mason and… and I have made friends here!"

Mabel brightly beams as she pulls out her grappling hook. She aims it high towards a nearby tree and exclaims. "Grappling Hook!" She shoots the hook and it latches onto the tree, sending her swinging around and around until she and her hook return to the ground safely. "I am Mabel Pines! The knitting queen and craftmaster! How could I ever forget the very best friends I made here. And all the sweaters I knitted!" Mabel smiles in thinking of Grenda and Candy. She is the Mabel everyone remembers.

Dipper looks between the six-fingered symbol on the cover of the journal and Ford's hands, him and Mabel gasping in remembering Ford being the author of the journals.

"And you're… you're…" Dipper stammers in awe.

"That I am, Dipper. The author of this and two additional journals that documented my research and accounts of this town and creatures for over thirty-plus years. Myself and the family appreciate all that you've done for us and the town." Ford smiles fondly to his great-niece and nephew and kneels down to their height. "Do you two remember anything else?"

Dipper and Mabel exchange looks as they read through the journal again, it not only brings back the exciting adventures they had together, but also the eventful memories as well of danger, near-death and… Bill, though it hurt to be reminded of them more.

"Yeah… but it's nothing we can't handle as we always have." Mabel opens her arms and smiles. "Sibling hug?"

Ford and the rest of the family gasp, seeing before them a momentous scene: Dipper and Mabel remember each other at last.

Dipper smiles back, giving the book back to Ford before he too opens his arms wide for the embrace. "Sibling hug."

The moment Dipper and Mabel hug, Quincy chirps to encourage.

"Do the pats!"

"Pat. Pat." Dipper and Mabel perform together. It was as if a great spark ignited in their minds at the exact same time. The memories they shared together since the very beginning of their lives. They didn't remember exactly everything, but for now, it was enough. Both began to laugh and continue to hold each other with happy tears.

"You're back!" Mabel and Dipper exclaim to each other.

"Wooo!" Arya starts the cheer that has everyone else cheering for the twins.

Dipper and Mabel pull away from the hug and wipe away their tears.

"Not everything's there yet, but I feel like myself again," Dipper chokes up. "I felt lost for awhile but I'm so happy to be reminded of one of the most important people in my life. I'm on the right track more than I was."

"Same, Dipdop. Can't ever imagine going through life without my best and only twin brother friend." Mabel gives her brother a noogie that makes him laugh more.

A/N: And that concludes the first part of Aftermath! Glad to have gotten this one done and yes blatant connection with The Owl House. And speaking of, I'll be writing a separate story of Maurice's short time in the Boiling Isles and debut my Owl House au called 'The Owl Nest AU' where Eda has a spouse and four children to raise, in addition of King, Owlbert and Hooty still being part of her family too (and later Luz being part of it). And it's familial chaos. Anyways, join us next time where Dipper and Mabel tour around the town and relearn that even the people there have their own weirdness than what lies on the surface. However, the twins confront the reality of what they and everyone else went through not so long ago. And the sacrifice they made in order to save everyone in Chapter 81: Aftermath: Part 2.
