"It's good to finally see you again, Hodor," Bran Stark said. "Thanks for bringing Stewie safely here."
"Hodor," said Hodor.
"How the deuce did you get acquainted with him?" Stewie asked in amazement.
"Because, once upon a time, my family used to live in Winterfell. My father Eddard was Warden of the North."
"But how can that be?" Dipper asked. "Stewie's family, the Griffins, have always ruled the north!"
"That's what everyone thinks," said Bran. "But actually, it was my family, the Starks that lived in Winterfell. Until…"
"Until what?" said Stewie.
"Until I accidentally ruined everything."
"So, why do they call you the three eyed raven?" Stewie asked Bran.
"Yeah, you don't look much like a bird to me," said Mabel.
"It's a metaphor," said Bran. "With my greensight, I can see into the past, the present, and the future. That's what I've called you here to learn to do, Stewie."
"I say, that sounds absolutely marvelous!" Stewie exclaimed. "But will I end up trapped in a tree like you?"
Bran chuckled. "No. I only ended up here because I made a bad bargain."
"What was it?" Stewie said.
"I can show you," Bran answered. "You remember how it feels to warg into someone? Well, do that now, but instead of entering a person or animal, warg into the roots of this weirwood tree."
"What will happen then?" Stewie wondered anxiously.
"Don't worry," Bran said kindly. "Everything will be fine."
Stewie did as he was told. He closed his eyes and slipped free of his skin.
When he opened them again, he was standing in the godswood at King's Landing. He was having a vision of the past.
Bran was sitting there in his wheelchair. Stewie watched him slide out of the chair and lower himself to the ground. As he lay on his stomach, he drew a circle in the dirt with a stick. Then he drew a triangle in the middle of it. "Triangulum, entangulum. Vene foris dominus mentium. Vene foris videntis omnium!" he chanted.
A shape rose up from the triangle symbol on the ground. Next thing Stewie knew, Bill Cipher was floating in the air above Bran.
"Oh, oh, Westeros! It is good to be back!" Bill said. "I take it you're some kind of living ventriloquist dummy?" he laughed. "I'm just kidding. I know who you are, Bran Stark!"
"And I know who you are," Bran said calmly. "I read Maester Hirsh's book about you, Bill Cipher."
"So, why did you summon me?" Bill asked.
"I heard that you have the power to change things," said Bran. "And there's a lot of things I don't like about how my story ended."
"What's not to like?" Bill asked. "You ended up becoming king of all Westeros!"
"I never wanted to be king. I only agreed to it because they were about to execute my brother Jon. When Tyrion Lannister nominated me as king, I accepted so I could make sure that Jon was only banished instead of being killed. Now Jon's back at the Wall, Sansa's queen in the north, I'm king in the south, Arya's off gods know where doing gods know what, and Robb and Rickon are dead! We're all separated from each other. This isn't how I wanted the story to end. I don't think it's how anyone wanted it to end."
"So, you want to start your story over from the beginning?" Bill asked.
"That's right."
"Well, all right," Bill chortled. "We can turn back the clock together if you just take… my… hand."
He held his hand out to Bran. Bran reached up and clasped it. There was a flash of light.
Stewie found himself back in the cave. "What happened after that?" he asked.
"Bill tricked me," Bran said sadly. "He started the story over again, all right, but he restarted it by taking my family out of it. I ended up trapped here, while the rest of my family, and a bunch of other people from Westeros, were sent to another world."
"What world was that?" Stewie said.
"The one you and your family came from. Meanwhile, your family and a bunch of other people from your world were sent to this world. You had false memories planted in your minds so you'd think you'd always lived here."
"Wait, wait, wait," said Stewie. "You're telling me I came from another world?"
"Yes, and there are people and creatures from still more worlds that were summoned here as well, including your friends Dipper and Mabel."
"That can't be!" said Dipper. "I've spent my whole life in Westeros!"
"No, you only think you have," Bran told him gently. "Your family took the place of a family called Reed."
"So, who is this Bill character, anyway?" Stewie asked.
"The evilest creature in the universe," Bran said solemnly.
