Stopping, she looked down at his hand, noted that though he held her still, his grasp was surprisingly gentle. Meeting his eyes, she shrugged and smiled a little. "Where?"

"Mothers favorite restaurant," he said finally, forcing himself to remain cool and detached as she stared into his eyes, as if searching for his soul. It disturbed him, to have these thoughts, even as his mind readily supplied that she could look all she wanted. "Simones."

Still smiling, she gently pulled away from him, amused. "We don't have to go, you know. Just because your mother made the reservation, doesn't mean we have to follow through."

He narrowed his eyes and took step towards her, recent memories compelling him to bring her closer yet. "You have been avoiding this one," he murmured, continuing his movements until she had to tilt her head back to look at him. "Explain."
