Exterminating a Parasite Part 1
I don't own Digimon or Yu-Gi-Oh
"Hey, you two, sorry I'm late." Daisuke said, running over to Mai and Yugi who were waiting for her by the clock in the square on the third day of Battle City.
"Still in the tournament Wheeler?" Mai questioned, a friendly smile on her face as the two girls high-fived.
Daisuke grinned and held up both her Locator Cards. "You know it, I got two Locator Cards already, plus some rare cards as well." She chirped, patting her deck box gently.
"Seems I'm ahead of you already." Mai cooed holding up four Locator Cards much to Yugi and Daisuke's shock.
"You got four!?" She questioned before seeing Yugi bashfully holding up his three Locator Cards, she groaned and hung her head. "Terrific…."
"There's still plenty of time in the tournament, you need six Locator Cards in total and I know you can do it." Yugi reassured his friend.
"Well we won't make it to the finals just standing around and chatting." Mai pointed out.
"She's right, see ya guys later I'm about to kick some serious butt." Daisuke said with a grin.
"Just make sure not to get captured again. Yugi's not going to save you twice in two days." Mai called out as the girl walked off who let off a sarcastic laugh while waving to her friends as they split up.
"I know one of Marik's Rare Hunters is after me, so I'll have to be careful." Yugi thought holding onto his deck box while passing by a mime whose face was covered in multiple piercings and his eyes seemed glazed over as they followed Yugi.
"I'm watching every move you make Little Yugi." A voice thought a glowing eye appearing on the mime's forehead for a moment.
Meanwhile, Tea and Tristan stood outside Solomon's game shop while the old man was sweeping the path outside. "Yugi left early?" Tea asked with a deep sigh.
"That's right, he said he wanted to get an early start." Solomon replied with a smile and Tea frowned elbowing Tristan in the ribs.
"I told you to call ahead so we can meet up, at this rate I'll never get to see Yugi duel." She told him and he sheepishly chuckled and rubbed his chin.
"Well you see I had a very important phone call and I got held up." He said and Tea frowned, grabbing his ear.
"You mean you were flirting with Serenity again; I'm surprised Mr Wheeler hasn't tried to chase you off yet." She grumbled as Tristan tried to pry her hand off his ear.
"Not to worry, let me swap into my comfy shoes and help you two find him." Solomon told them with a smile before he walked back into his shop.
Back with Daisuke she had her hands in her pockets while searching for a duelist to face. "I gotta find someone soon, I need to be able to help Yugi take on Marik, and also to make sure Mai doesn't show me up completely." She said, looking at her duel disk. "This deck has never let me down."
"Daisuke Wheeler." A voice said and she turned seeing a young boy walking over to her holding a piece of paper in his hands. "Wow, it's really you. Can I have your autograph?"
"Huh…oh um sure…" Daisuke said with a shy blush as the boy handed her the paper and a pen. "So, who should I make it out too?" she asked.
"To my sister Jessica, she's such a huge fan of yours." The boy answered while eying her duel disk. "Whoa that is so awesome, where'd you get it customised?"
"Oh, from a friend. It is pretty cool isn't it?" she asked with a smile.
"Can I hold it?" he asked out of the blue making her raise an eyebrow as he reached for it, she stepped back and shook her head. "Just for a second please." He begged and she looked into his eyes before seeing no other duelists around.
"Okay…but only for a second." She relented, unclasping the duel disk she handed it to him. "Well what do you think?" she asked him with a smile.
"Thanks." The boy said before he turned and ran off with her duel disk and she gasped.
"Hey get back here!" She shouted, giving chase to the thief. "Didn't your parents ever tell you not to steal from people!?" She growled angrily mentally berating herself. "Stupid, stupid, stupid. What was I thinking letting that punk hold my duel disk!"
She continued chasing the boy as they ran past a bridge where Willis was standing looking around before noticing the chase. "That guy has Dai's duel disk." He thought, running down the stairs quickly. "I got him!" he shouted, jumping in front of the thief and grabbing him as Daisuke caught up.
"Thanks Willis." She said catching her breath.
"What is this kid doing with your duel disk?" Willis questioned with a frown.
"That's just what I was about to ask him." She replied, grabbing her duel disk back and dragging the boy away with Willis following and soon the two were standing in front of the kid who sat on a bench by the river.
"Start talking, what made you think stealing someone else's deck was a good idea?" Willis questioned with his arms crossed.
"I'm sorry, I know it was wrong but someone else stole my own deck after I spent so long making it." The boy replied.
"That doesn't make it right." Daisuke told him with a frown. "You won't get anywhere in life by stealing people's stuff." The boy nodded in understanding looking ashamed though Daisuke felt there was more he had to say. "Who stole your deck?" She asked.
"I don't know his name; all I know is he had bug eyes and hair shaped like a blue beetle." The boy answered, shrugging his shoulders. Daisuke frowned as she thought for a moment, rubbing her chin as she thought back to Duelist Kingdom and her eyes widened.
"Weevil Underwood, that slimy cheat's up to his tricks again I see." She said and Willis frowned looking at the kid.
"Don't worry we'll teach him a lesson." He promised before the two ran off missing the boy smirking. A few moments later he ran into an alley and heard a voice.
"So, you've done as I've asked huh?" stepping out of the shadows, Weevil Underwood smirked as the boy nodded.
"Yep, they believed the whole story." He said.
"Then the fools have stumbled right into my trap." Weevil said snickering as the boy held his hand out.
"Okay, I did my part, now give me the rare card you promised me." He said.
"Ah right, how silly of me to forget." Weevil said handing the boy a card who smiled happily, he then looked at the card and frowned seeing it was a rather common insect monster.
"Hey, this is a Gokibore. Everyone has this card." He complained, he then cried out when Weevil held out a spider shaped water pistol and sprayed him in a slimy silly string and he ran off cackling to himself leaving the boy to writhe around in disgust.
"Never make a deal with an insect!" he shouted to the boy. "My plan is coming together perfectly, Yugi may have defeated my Great Moth in Duelist Kingdom but now with the trap I've set, Wheeler won't stand a chance." He thought, looking at his duel disk with a vicious smirk.
At the hospital, Serenity was sitting in her bed, her head facing the window when she heard the door to her room open. "Joey, is that you?" She asked thinking her brother had come to visit, she got no reply when a nurse walked into the room.
"Ah Serenity, did you hear anyone come in here?" she asked the girl politely.
"No, why do you ask?"
"There's a little boy named Kenta running around the ward, he doesn't want to get his x-rays taken." The nurse explained.
"Maybe he's just scared." Serenity replied.
"Hm, suppose you're right." The nurse said before leaving, once she was gone Serenity smiled and turned her head.
"You can come out now Kenta." She said gently and a young boy crawled out from under the bed.
"How did you know I was here?" he asked.
"I'm psychic." She answered, he blinked looking at her stunned before she giggled. "I could hear you breathing under the bed." She told him.
"So why didn't you turn me in?" He asked her.
"I was scared of a few of the tests they did here too, but you know they aren't as bad as you think they are." Serenity told him.
"What can I do to thank you for not turning me in?" Kenta asked with a smile.
"Now that you mention it. You can log into the Battle City website for me, my sister's dueling in the tournament." Serenity answered.
"Wow. Awesome!" he said happily before climbing onto the bed beside Serenity logging into the website for her.
Back at Battle City, Daisuke was looking around for Weevil as Willis walked over with two bottles of water. "No luck?" he asked her.
"Not a thing, maybe that kid was lying." She answered, taking a water bottle, and drinking from it quickly.
"Well he did steal your deck and duel disk, whose to say he didn't make it up to get off easy?" Willis replied before both noticed two people nearby which made them both share a look.
"Let's go." Daisuke whispered, turning to walk away, but the two people noticed them and ran over.
"Hey, there you are we finally found you!" the lavender haired girl with glasses shouted as she came to a stop in front of them both while the brunette with cherry red eyes and pink shirt and yellow shorts smiled slightly at Daisuke and Willis.
"Long time no see Yolei." Daisuke greeted calmly, she then turned to Kari and smiled. "How've you been Kari?" she then asked her friend.
"Good. We just came for a visit, Mr Wheeler said you were in the tournament and I wanted to see you duel." Kari explained before holding up her camera. "Plus, this gives me a chance to get more experience as a photographer."
"And I came along to see if what people said about you was true. I mean come on, runner up in Duelist Kingdom, that's hard to believe." Yolei said.
"Well like it or not it happened, Dai's a great duelist." Willis said rubbing her shoulder comfortingly, Daisuke smiled and nodded to him before glaring at Yolei for a moment.
"Stick around, I'm about to duel someone right now. I'll prove to you how good I am." She told her before hearing a laugh and turning, the others did as well to see Weevil standing there with a smirk.
"Looking for a duel, are we?" he asked.
"Oh, look it's the dung beetle." Daisuke commented and he giggled.
"That's the greeting I get after all this time?" He asked her, looking behind her at the other three he sneered. "Who are they, your new friends?"
"Old friends actually, long story." She answered casually. "I heard you stole some kids deck, that true?"
"I'm sure I'd recall stealing another person's deck, how cruel of you to suspect me so quickly." He said with a giggle.
"Well with your track record I wouldn't act so innocent." Daisuke told him before looking to Kari with a grin. "You wanted to see me duel, well prepare to be amazed."
"Excellent just what I was hoping for, once I crush you, I'll go after your friend Yugi and get my revenge." Weevil told Daisuke. "And we'll duel for two Locator Cards."
"Two huh?" Daisuke questioned with a frown. "If I lose this duel I'd be out of the tournament, it's risky." She thought, rubbing her chin before she looked into Weevil's eyes and smiled. "You're on, how many Locator Cards do you have?"
"Two!" he replied, showing the cards to boast.
"Then once I beat you, I'll have four Locator Cards, plus your rarest card and I'll be personally responsible for keeping your ugly mug outta this tournament, just like Yugi did last time." Daisuke said activating her duel disk with a flourish while Weevil activated his own duel disk.
"Let's duel!" both shouted, drawing their first five cards while Kari, Willis and Yolei watched on.
"I'll go first." Daisuke said with a grin. "I summon Apple Magician Girl in Attack mode." Her magician monster appeared in a flash of light with a cute smile spinning her sceptre around and pointing it at Weevil.
"How adorable, you think you can fight me with fruit. Let's see how she handles a stronger monster." He said as his turn began, and he drew a card from his deck. "I summon Flying Kamakiri #1!" a large bipedal insect appeared on the field with 1400 Attack points and 900 Defence points. "Now my flying friend attack!" he commanded, his monster took to the sky and flew towards Apple Magician Girl.
"I don't think so, I activate the effect of a monster in my hand. Kiwi Magician Girl!" Daisuke said, holding up the card it glowed brightly as her monster appeared for a moment showing she wore green robes and an ornate headdress.
"What do you mean!?" Weevil questioned.
"When you declare an attack, I can tribute Kiwi Magician Girl from my hand and increase my Apple Magician Girl's Attack points by 300, meaning she'll be stronger than your bug." She explained, Apple Magician Girl's body glowed with magical power as her Attack rose from 1200 to 1500.
Flying Kamakiri #1 continued in its attack before Apple Magician Girl fired a blast of magic from her sceptre, the insect was obliterated with ease and Weevil's life-points dropped to 3900. Weevil grit his teeth before he broke out laughing.
"Thank you, Daisuke, when Flying Kamakiri #1 is destroyed by battle, I get to special summon a stronger monster. Flying Kamakiri #2!" he said with continued laughter as the large praying mantis looking monster appeared in a flash of light with 1500 Attack points and 800 Defence points.
Daisuke narrowed her eyes at Weevil while back at the hospital, Kenta managed to find Daisuke's duel just as it began. "Your sister is Daisuke Wheeler, right?" he asked, and Serenity nodded. "Well looks like she's going up against regional champion Weevil Underwood."
"Don't be so worried, my sister came in second in the Duelist Kingdom Tournament. I know she can beat this guy." She said confidently as Kenta turned back to the duel.
Back at the duel, Daisuke was staring down Weevil and his insect monster as she drew her next card and felt a tingle shoot through her hand. "No way." She whispered looking at her card and she smiled. "The Dark Magician, what luck now I just need to summon him." She thought looking at the cards in her hand before she nodded. "I activate a spell card, Cost Down!"
"Nice work." Willis praised having an idea on what she was planning.
"I discard one card from my hand, then this magic card lowers the level of all the monsters in my hand by two for this turn." Daisuke explained placing the magic card in her duel disk. "Now I tribute my Apple Magician Girl to summon the Dark Magician." Everyone watched as Apple Magician Girl closed her eyes before vanishing in a bright flash of light, a magical portal opened where she once stood and the Dark Magician floated up with a smirk, he batted aside his sceptre and it spun around in the air before returning to its master's hand and he readied himself to obey his new master.
"How did you get your hands on a Dark Magician!?" Weevil questioned with wide eyes.
"From someone who deserved a second chance." Daisuke whispered, thinking back to Arkana before clenching her fist. "Dark Magician, Dark Magic Attack, take out his Flying Kamakiri #2!" She ordered.
Her magician nodded with a smirk before dashing towards the insect monster and holding his hand out firing a blast of magic and shattering Weevil's monster as his life-points dropped to 2900 and he frowned.
"That wasn't supposed to happen." He grumbled out.
"Take that you little creep." Willis said with a grin.
"Nice work Daisuke, keep it up." Kari cheered with a smile as Weevil drew a card and made his next move.
"Here's another monster, in defence mode." He said, setting the monster while smirking at Daisuke. "Just try to attack this one, Wheeler." He thought.
"You keep setting them up, and I'll knock them all down." Daisuke said as she drew a card before looking to her Dark Magician who smirked. "Dark Magician attack!" she ordered, her magician nodded and launched another magical blast at Weevil's set monster, when the attack struck Daisuke saw it was a long slimy looking leech which rushed her magician and wrapped around its neck.
"What the heck is that disgusting thing?" Yolei questioned with a shriek.
Weevil cackled and smirked at his opponent. "That's my adorable leech Kiseitai, when it is attacked it attaches itself to the first monster that does, and it increases my life-points by 1250 every time it's your turn, so as long as my leech continues to feed my life-points continue to grow!" he explained.
"That's not good." She muttered as the leech's tail phased into the Dark Magician's head and it groaned in discomfort.
"You've only just begun to learn about the insect world, luckily for you I'm just the person to teach you Wheeler, now I'll play one more monster in defence mode." Weevil said, setting another monster.
"It's my move, I'll take care of that bug." Daisuke said, drawing a card.
"And I'll take more life-points." Weevil said with a laugh, Dark Magician groaned as Kiseitai's tail glowed sapping his energy and Weevil's life-points climbed to 4150.
"My Dark Magician might have a leech, but he can still attack!" Daisuke said nodding to her magician who nodded launching a magical blast at Weevil's face down monster which revealed itself to be a ladybug of some kind before it was destroyed. Daisuke then saw Weevil show his life-point indicator to her showing it had gone up by 500 to 4650.
"More life-points?" Kari asked, looking to the others as Weevil laughed.
"Because you destroyed my Skull Marked Ladybug, I gain an extra 500 life-points. Didn't I tell you that you had a lot to learn!?" He asked laughing while Daisuke growled.
"Insect cards are very tricky; I'm afraid Daisuke will need to think on her feet and be ready for anything." Willis said.
"Ha, I'll play another monster in defence mode, and since it's your turn that means more life-points for me." Weevil said with a smirk as his life-points climbed to 5900 while another card appeared face down in front of him. "As long as my leech continues to feed, you won't be able to stop me gaining more life-points, soon it'll be time for you to say goodbye to the Battle City Tournament."
"Gotta think of something…" Daisuke thought, drawing her next card she smiled. "This will work, Weevil say hello to Panther Warrior!" she said summoning her monster. The beast warrior appeared on the field with a roar and landed beside Dark Magician.
"He needs a sacrifice in order to attack, so I'll tribute my Dark Magician which in turn gets rid of your leech." She explained, her magician smirking before vanishing in a flash of light with Weevil's monster also vanishing in the flash of light.
"Now Panther Warrior attack!" Daisuke commanded, her monster roaring as it charged Weevil's face down monster and cut it clean in half, the monster briefly appearing before being destroyed.
"Now that the leech is gone, it stops Weevil's life-points from increasing, right?" Kari asked, turning to Willis who nodded.
"I've been going easy on you Wheeler. But that ends now, since you destroyed my Pinch Hopper while it was on my side of the field, it allows me to special summon a monster. Like my Larvae Moth!" Weevil explained summoning the new monster.
"Oh, I recognise that one." Daisuke said, remembering the time Weevil summoned that same monster in his duel against Yugi in Duelist Kingdom.
"So glad to know your memory is better than your dueling Wheeler, because now you know what I plan to do next." Weevil said as his turn began. "Once I wrap my Larvae in the all-powerful Cocoon of Evolution!"
"Oh, this is bad." Daisuke said as the Larvae Moth became encased in the Cocoon protecting it from harm.
"Over the next five turns, the Cocoon of Evolution will transform my Larvae Moth into the Perfectly Ultimate Great Moth!" Weevil boasted with a smirk.
"I gotta pop that thing!" Daisuke said only for Weevil to smirk.
"I don't think so, my next card will put a stop to any attacks you might be planning. After all there is already a parasite living in your deck." He told her.
"What do you mean!?" She questioned narrowing her eyes. Weevil snickered and held up a card from his hand.
"A parasite is a creature that feeds on others, now I play the magic card Reckless Parasite to bring it out of your deck." He said activating the card.
"You're talking crazy, I don't have insect cards in my deck." Daisuke replied only for her duel disk to glow brightly and she covered her eyes from the light, once the light died down a monster appeared on the field.
"Looks to me like you were mistaken. You had a Parasite Paracide in your deck and I'm activating it, meaning now all your monsters will become infected." Weevil said with a cackle. The monster now on the field looked disgusting and had a weak attack and defence, its tentacles then phased into Panther Warrior's body making it roar in pain as it began to mutate.
"That's disgusting." Kari said her face turning green at the sight while Willis frowned.
"Weevil pulled a fast one on you Dai!"
"I know that, but how did he…" Daisuke trailed off, her eyes widening as she remembered the kid from before who had stolen her duel disk. "That little punk who stole my duel disk, he was working for you wasn't he!?"
"A great duelist always prepares for whatever opponent he might face long before he does so." Weevil said with a taunting smirk.
"But that's against the rules of this tournament. You creepy little cheater!" Willis shouted outraged for what Weevil had pulled off.
"Cheater? It's not my fault Wheeler didn't think to check her deck before we dueled." Weevil replied with a smirk.
"Oh, I can't wait to kick your butt after this duel is over." Daisuke growled, she then winced hearing her monster's roars of pain as its left arm morphed into a grotesque insect looking appendage while spindly legs grew out of its back.
"And while your monster continues to transform, my moth continues to evolve. I set one card face down and end my turn." Weevil said with a confident smirk.
"Just because he's infected doesn't mean I can't attack you with him." Daisuke replied.
"No, you can't. Every monster you play becomes infected, and you can't tribute infected monsters." Weevil told her with a grin.
"Well I've got another plan; I'll summon Chocolate Magician Girl." Daisuke said playing another spellcaster monster, this one looked like a young woman with mint green hair, cherry red eyes and wore clothing similar to the Dark Magician Girl only they were dark blue with red and gold linings and she had 1600 Attack points and 1000 Defence points.
"Now another of your monsters is infected!" Weevil told her, the parasite monster's tendrils struck Chocolate Magician Girl mutating her and her left hand turned into a sharp pincher with bumps and spikes while wings and a thorax emerged from her back.
"Still doesn't mean nothing when she can attack your Cocoon, which you foolishly forgot to switch to Defence mode!" Daisuke informed him.
"No, it can't be!" Weevil exclaimed with disbelief.
"Chocolate Magician Girl attack!" Daisuke ordered, her magician flew towards Weevil aiming for his Cocoon and he wailed in despair before suddenly smirking.
"How dumb can you be Wheeler!?" he cackled confusing Daisuke as Weevil pressed a button on his duel disk. "This magic card will save me; I activate Insect Barrier!" a criss cross of energy beams appeared in front of his side of the field and Chocolate Magician Girl hit the barrier before being reflected backwards. "This barrier reflects all insect attacks, and since all your monsters are insects thanks to my parasite, my barrier will protect me from all of your attacks!"
"So, I can't attack?" Daisuke asked with a frown.
"How could you not think he had something planned, Daisuke. You need to be smarter than that!" Yolei scolded the girl with a frown.
"Hey, I'm doing my best here!" Daisuke snapped back with a glare. "I don't see you offering any ideas!"
"Well you never listen to my ideas in the first place, if you hadn't been such a hot head then maybe what happened with Veemon wouldn't have happened at all!" Yolei shouted back.
"Hey, don't talk to her like that!" a voice from behind shouted and Daisuke looked to see Tristan, Tea and Solomon rushing over.
"They're right Yolei that was way too over the line, even for you." Kari said, glaring at Yolei who huffed and stormed off.
"Whatever, see if I care if she loses or not." She pushed past Tea and Tristan both glaring at her retreating figure, while Solomon walked over to Willis and Kari.
"Now then, what's going on?" he asked them both who explained the duel so far to them while Daisuke focused on Weevil fighting back the building emotions from Yolei's words.
"In just four more turns, my Cocoon will hatch and unleash my Great Moth which will crush you." Weevil promised with a laugh.
"I know I can beat this guy; I just need to turn this whole thing against him. Maybe that parasite will be helpful." Daisuke thought as Weevil drew a card and smirked.
"I'll summon this monster to begin weakening your life-points. Leghul, in attack mode." He said summoning a monster which was a worm looking insect with spikes and sharp pincers with only 300 Attack and 500 Defence points. "Now attack her life-points directly." He ordered and the insect rushed off and bit into her right leg.
"Ow! Hey, I still have monsters on the field!" Daisuke shouted, her life-points falling to 3700.
"Leghul is able to bypass your monsters." Weevil explained as the insect returned to his side. "Your life-points are in serious trouble. Now what will you do?"
"Since I can't attack, I'll switch both my monsters into defence mode." Daisuke replied, both her monsters kneeling and crossing their arms.
"How sad, you still can't attack. And in three more turns my Great Moth will emerge ready to squash you. But meanwhile, Leghul attack her directly!" Weevil ordered and Leghul attacked this time biting down into Daisuke's shoulder making her cry out in pain as her life-points fell to 3400.
"Two more turns, and I can't do anything." Daisuke said with a growl before shouting in pain as Leghul attacked her again on Weevil's next turn causing her life-points to drop to 3100.
"I promise you Wheeler, I'll make the ending as painful as possible for you." Weevil said with a smirk.
"Enough Weevil, we get it!" Tristan shouted before Daisuke held her hand up.
"Keep it cool Tristan." She said softly looking at Weevil with fire in her eyes. "If he thinks I'll lose to him, he needs a reality check." She drew her next card and nodded. "I summon Alligator Sword in defence mode, and I set one card face down and end my turn." Her monster appeared on the field between her magician and Panther Warrior while two cards appeared in front of her face down.
"And now your gator is infected too!" Weevil said as the new monster was also infected by the parasite.
"Whatever. So, I'm ready to face this great big bug of yours." Daisuke said calmly.
"Ask and you shall receive, but first I'll tribute my Leghul to summon the Insect Princess!" Weevil said summoning the monster as Leghul glowed and was replaced by the stronger monster, it looked like a female humanoid insect with butterfly wings and big bug eyes with an Attack of 1900 and a Defence of 1200.
"How odd for you to have a beautiful looking monster in your deck." Daisuke muttered.
"Now my beautiful princess, activate your special ability." Weevil commanded, his monster nodded, fluttering her wings and glittering dust flew over to Daisuke's monsters, to her shock all three of them turned to Attack mode. "Insect Princess forces all insect monsters you control to switch to Attack position."
"Oh no!" Tea gasped in shock while Weevil snickered.
"And now for the finale. Ultimate Great Moth emerge from your cocoon at once!" he commanded, the cocoon began to crack and split open as everyone watched on in shock.
"Whoa that's big…" Daisuke whispered, the giant moth emerged from the cocoon and flapped its wings as it lifted into the air.
"Take a good long look at the insect embodiment of your final defeat, it's all over Wheeler!" Weevil said, before he began laughing while Daisuke grit her teeth readying herself for the oncoming attack.
