Silver Beast: Party Time

They could already hear the music pounding down the road as they approached Fred's house. They both awed over the party lights streaming over the treetops as they pulled into the long gravel driveway. Being out in the country the secluded cattle farm was the perfect place for them to turn it up without getting noise complaints from the neighbors. As they pulled up to the house they saw cars, SUV's and trucks of every size, color and model parked in the open field beside the old pole barn. There had to be close to one hundred people there already and it wasn't even 9 o'clock.

"You want to risk it?" Inuyasha asked as he parked his toyota beside Fred's blue charger.

"Let's stay for a little while." Kagome said as she unfastened her seatbelt. "I want to say hi to our friends and get a few dances in with you before we go."

"Sounds good to me." Inuyasha shrugged before leaning over the armrest and surprising her with a hot, wet kiss on the lips.

Her purred deep in his throat as the flavor of her mint lip gloss coated his tongue. It made her already honey flavor taste fresh and that much sweeter. Her skimpy pink top made it easy for him to cup her breast in his palm. His purrs darkened when he discovered she wasn't wearing a bra underneath.

"You naughty girl..." Inuyasha chuckled huskily as he began to lick along her neck. "Fresh out of high school and you're already breaking the rules."

"Screw the rules." Kagome panted as she scraped her pink sparkly nails along his scalp. "Better yet, screw me."

"I wish..." Inuyasha moaned against her collarbone. "You have no idea how badly I want to."

"We're little less than a month away now." Kagome sighed as she held him close. "It's kind of a surreal feeling when you think about it."

"I know what you mean." Inuyasha said as he sat back in his seat. "There's so much pressure and anticipation leading up to your 18th moon rainbow celebration. Neither my brother or I found our mates on our's but I know lots of other werewolves that did. It was kind of, well disappointing when I didn't find my mate last fall."

"Did you feel any different when the celebration was done?" Kagome asked as she tucked one of his black strands behind his human shaped ear.

"Not really." Inuyasha shrugged as he turned to kiss her palm. "I guess I kinda felt a shift inside myself. I could sense things a little better than before which was nice and had a little more control over my beast. My brother told me the lack of response in finding my mate was probably due to my mother's human blood running through my veins. He said when he had his celebration his hyper sense of awareness doubled and he could feel a ghost like pull on his soul to go and find Kagura. At least he was given a road map to find his mate. I got nothing."

"What do you feel when you're with me?" Kagome asked hesitantly.

"When I'm with you... I feel like... I feel like I'm coming home I guess." Inuyasha sighed as he sat back in his seat.

"What do you mean?" Kagome asked as she held his hand close to her heart.

"I feel safe with you, comfortable even. Like when you come home after a long day of hard work and you just want to lay down on the couch and relax." Inuyasha said, making her smile.

"I feel that way about you too." Kagome blushed as she nuzzled into his palm. "You make me happy like I'm soaking in a warm bubble bath."

"A bubble bath?" Inuyasha chuckled.

"Yeah, you're warm and cozy." Kagome said as she kissed each one of his knuckles. "You support me in all the right places and help me de-stress. Plus you smell nice and brighten my darkest of days like twinkling candles."

"You make me sound worthier than I deserve." Inuyasha scoffed.

"You don't think so?" Kagome asked as Inuyasha turned away from her to look out the window.

"I know so." Inuyasha sighed. "There's so much about me you still don't know Kagome. There are things I still have to tell you but don't know how to say it. I just don't want you getting hurt by my mistakes."

"Hey..." Kagome said as she gingerly cupped his chin. "Where's all this coming from? Did something happen?"

"Yeah, I did something stupid." Inuyasha sighed as he looked down at the armrest.

"What is it?" Kagome asked as she cupped his cheek forcing him to look at her.

"Kagome I..."

KNOCK, KNOCK

"Everything alright in there?" Fred asked as he tapped on their window. "Eri saw your car and said you guys have been sitting out here for a while."

"Yeah, we're fine." Inuyasha huffed as he opened his car door to step outside. "Sorry about that."

"No worries! We just wanted to make sure everything was ok." Fred shrugged. "Last time we had people over my dad's friend couldn't get his car to start."

"Oh, no it wasn't anything like that. We just got to talking and lost track of time." Kagome reassured him as she linked her arm through Inuyasha's and followed him towards the barn.

"Some party you got here." Inuyasha said as they walked through the maze of people hanging around the outside the barn. The smoke from their joints and cigarettes irritated his senses. He couldn't understand how people could stand the smell.

"No kidding!" Fred laughed as he led his friends deeper into the party barn. "It's going to take forever to clean up all the mess!"

"I bet." Inuyasha nodded as he looked around the barn.

There had to be close to seventy high school students inside with another fifty to sixty outside. Everywhere they looked there were people playing games, drinking or dancing. Although most of the people there were underage close to a third of the crowd was drunk or under the influence of other more experimental drugs.

"Don't accept drinks from anyone but me." Inuyasha whispered into her ear. "It looks like someone spiked the punch."

"Great... just how I want to start my adult life." Kagome rolled her eyes as she stuck close to his side. "Let's just hope the cops don't show up and arrest anyone."

"You sure you want to stay?" Inuyasha asked just as someone started passing out jello shots. "It's getting kind of wild."

"Let's go and find our friends and then grab something on the way out." Kagome suggested just as a group of guys carried in a large kegerator across the barn. "It's getting really crowded and I don't want to get trapped if the cops show up."

"Fine by me wench." Inuyasha said as he held her hand tightly as he wove her through the crowd of people.

"Kagome! Inuyasha!" Yuka cheered when she noticed them coming her way! "There you are!"

"Sorry we're late." Kagome apologized as Inuyasha stole an empty seat from one of the tables nearby.

"Why were you guys outside?" Eri asked as Fred sat next to her on the couch and opened another beer.

"Yeah! What tooks youz guys so long?" Ayumi slurred as she took another sip of her drink.

"Ayumi? I think you've had enough." Eri said as she went to take her cousin's drink away.

"Go gets your own Eri! Dis one's mine!" Ayumi pouted as she held the drink out of Eri's reach.

"Oh my..." Yuka blushed as she looked at the state of her twin.

"Ayumi? I think you're drunk sweetie." Kagome sympathized. "You need to drink some water."

"Nope! I gots dis!" Ayumi laughed before downing the rest of her drink and passing out on the couch.

"Lovely... can someone help me get her to my car? I'm going to take her home." Yuka apologized as she tried to lift Ayumi up.

"Here, allow me." Inuyasha offered as he effortlessly picked her up.

"Thanks Inuyasha!" Yuka smiled as Inuyasha held her bridal style in his arms.

"I'm parked right out front by the tire swing." Yuka said as she helped prop Ayumi's head against his chest.

"Inuyasha? Your wallet fell out of your pocket." Kagome said as she bent down to pick it off of the floor.

"Could you hold onto it for me until I get back?" Inuyasha asked as he adjusted Ayumi a little better in his arms so she wouldn't get bumped in the crowd.

"Yeah, that's fine." Kagome said as she sat next to Eri and Fred on the couch.

"I'll be right back!" Inuyasha yelled before following Yuka through the crowd.

"You're good for him." Fred said as he wrapped his arm around Eri's shoulder.

"What do you mean?" Kagome asked as she traced the binding on his wallet with her thumb.

"He's changed a lot since being with you." Eri said as she played with the label on her drink.

"He used to be a real jerk." Fred said as he pulled Eri a little closer to his side.

"More like a bully." Eri added. "He always did his own thing. Even as a kid he never really cared if anyone's feelings got hurt. Especially if they were in his way or didn't do something he liked."

"Well, Inuyasha didn't exactly have the best support system back at home." Kagome defended. "If you knew him like I did, you'd see that hidden behind his rough edges he still has a good heart."

"Just be glad you never knew that side of him." Eri said just as someone barreled into the back of the couch.

The force knocked them to the floor causing their drinks and snacks to spill all over the place. Just as Kagome picked herself off of the ground another guy was thrown across the room. Before she knew it the entire barn was having a throw down. Furniture and beer bottles were being chucked and smashed all over the place.

"Shit! Dad's gonna kill me!" Fred cursed as he protectively covered Eri's body with his own.

"Let's get out of here!" Kagome shouted as they all ducked down to avoid getting hit by the barn brawl.
