Stewie came rolling outside in his wheelchair, followed by Dipper and Mabel. When he saw Brian's body, he gave vent to a howl of grief and rage. "You bloody bastards! You've killed Brian!"
"You're right!" said Thorne. "We've committed treason, all of us. Brian Griffin was my Lord Commander. I had no love for him, that was no secret, but I never once disobeyed an order. Until tonight, when Brian let the wildlings through our gates. He gave them the very land on which they had reaved an' raped an' murdered. Lord Commander Griffin did what he thought was right, I've no doubt about that. An' what he thought was right woulda been the end of us. He thrust a terrible choice upon us an' we made it."
Stewie warged into Thorne for just long enough to make him punch himself in the face. "I ought to make you stab yourself," he said, "but that might kill me too."
"You dang slug!" Thorne shouted. "You'll pay for that!" He ran towards Stewie, but someone stepped in front of him and blocked his path. It was Toshi! He had a big samurai sword! A few other brothers who had remained loyal to Brian came and stood beside Toshi.
"If you want to hurt these kids, you'll have to go through us first!" Toshi said… in English!
He waved his sword at Thorne. Thorne and the other mutineers stepped back. This gave two of Toshi's companions the opportunity to pick up Brian's body.
Toshi started pushing Stewie's wheelchair. "Come on. I'll take you someplace safe." The other Night Watch loyalists and the Pines twins followed him.
They went into a bedroom. Gendry and Tina Belcher were already in there, sitting at a table. "What's going on?" Tina asked.
The two guys carrying Brian set him down on the table. "There's been a mutiny," Toshi said as he bolted the door. "Brian has been stabbed."
"When did you learn English?" Stewie asked.
"I've always been able to speak English," said Toshi. "I just preferred for people not to know that. I don't waste my words. The world is cruel and treacherous."
"Hey Stewie, if you can see the future now, why didn't you know this was going to happen?" Mabel asked.
"Well, I can't see everything at once," Stewie explained. "I have a random-access memory."
"Oh man, this is bad," Dipper moaned.
"What are we gonna do now?" Gendry asked Toshi. "Can you trust any of your brothers?"
"The ones in this room," Toshi replied.
Outside, Thorne was pounding on the door now. "Come out! Surrender now and you can leave unharmed!"
"Why should we believe you?" Stewie shouted back. "Brian trusted you and look what happened to him!"
There was no reply but the sound of footsteps walking away.
"We've gotta take that guy Thorne out!" Mabel said.
"How can we?" Dipper asked. "We're outnumbered!"
"Wait!" said Stewie. "There are others nearby who owe Brian their lives."
"You're talking about the wildlings," said Toshi. "They're headed for the Gift right now, but if I sneak out of here, I can catch up with them and bring them back here."
He opened the window and slipped out. "Let no one in until I return!" he called.
"You don't have to tell us twice," said Stewie. "But during the Stone Age, you'd need to tell a caveman more than twice."
