The day after she saw the show, Meg returned to the theater. She had a knife in one pocket and a vial of poison in the other. She had failed her last test, but she wasn't planning to fail this one!

She was hoping to sneak backstage and kill the actor before today's performance started. But something unexpected happened. When she slipped through the door at the back of the theater, she found herself face to face with the hare!

When the hare saw Meg, his face broke into a broad smile. "I say, this is a super wheeze, wot! You couldn't have come at a better time!"

Meg was confused. "Um… what are you talking about?"

"Allow me to introduce myself. I am Ballaw de Quincewold, actor and tragedian. I'm really in a stew. My leading lady just walked out on me, and we're one actress short for today's performance. But now you can take her place!"

"Uh, I don't think so," Meg said. "I'm not much of an actor. That's not why I came over here."

"Then what the deuce did you come here for?"

Of course, she had come to kill him, but she couldn't tell him that.

"Come on, help a chap out," Ballaw pleaded. "Just play the part for this one day, and I'll be eternally grateful!"

"But I won't have time to memorize the lines!" Meg objected.

"You don't need to. You can read from the script. Not done in the best o' circles, of course, but there won't be any harm in it just for this one performance. What do you say?"

"All right," Meg agreed reluctantly. "I'll do it."

The hare's ears wriggled with pleasure. "Excellent! I can already tell that you'll be perfect for your role!"

"What exactly is my role?" Meg asked.

"You'll be playing the part of… Meg Griffin."

Brian, Stewie, Dipper, and Mabel had left the Wall and traveled to Deepwood Motte, seat of House Glover. Asha Greyjoy had captured this castle, but the Glovers had recently retaken it.

Now Brian and the others were sitting with Lord Robett Glover in his study. "Will you help us fight the Boltons?" Brian asked.

Lord Glover wasn't very receptive to this idea. "Why should I follow a bunch of kids and a dog?"

"Excuse me, Brian's a direwolf," Stewie said. "You ought to have more respect for us. Brian was the commander of the Night's Watch until recently, and I am a member of House Griffin, to which you owe allegiance."

"Yes, my family served House Griffin for centuries," Lord Glover said. "We wept when we heard of your father's death. When my brother Galbart was lord of this castle, he answered Chris's call and hailed him King in the North. And where was King Chris when the ironborn attacked this castle? When they threw my wife and children in prison and brutalized and killed our subjects? Taking up with a foreign whore. Getting himself and those who followed him killed. I served House Griffin once, but House Griffin is dead. All that's left of it is a dog and a crippled child."

After that, it seemed there was nothing more for Brian and Stewie to stay. However, Dipper had a question for Lord Glover. "You said something about Chris Griffin getting the people who followed him killed. My Great-Uncle Stan was one of those people. Do you know what happened to him? Did he die at the Red Wedding?"

"Stan Pines never went to the Red Wedding," Glover said. "Chris left him behind at Riverrun. Last I heard, Riverrun was being besieged by Frey forces, and Stan was trapped inside, along with Chris Griffin's wife Pam."

"But he's alive?" Mabel said urgently.

"Yeah, he's still alive, as far as I know."

Mabel jumped up from her seat. "We've gotta save Grunkle Stan!" She looked back at Stewie. "Oh, but Stewie needs us to stay with him."

"Don't worry about me," said Stewie. "The two of you have helped me more than enough already. Stan is your family. You should go save him, if you think you can."

Dipper's backpack lay on a chair in the next room. Suddenly the zipper on the bag began to move, apparently by itself!

Next moment, Bertram jumped out onto the floor, holding Dipper's magic flashlight! He had jumped into the backpack after Dipper had shrunk him. He'd been hiding in there ever since, subsisting on old cracker crumbs he found inside. He'd been waiting for Dipper to leave the backpack unattended. Now Dipper finally had.

Bertram used the flashlight to regrow himself to his full size. Then he climbed out the window, bringing the flashlight with him.
