Sorry for the long time between updates 2020 really took it out of me. I hope it doesn't take months before my next update.
The Atlas Dragoon that carried our heroes continued on its path to Argus not knowing of the figure that was below it. A man knelled on the ground as if he was tracking something though his eyes were closed. His black hair was slicked back and he had a full beard and mustache that was both thick and well groomed. The dark hair stood out against his pail skin and on his neck was a necklace with Salem's mark. He was wearing a trench coat that was colored different shades of grey for camouflage. His pants and boots were both dark colors and made for function not style. On his back was a quiver and full of arrows and a compound hunting bow that was strapped to the quiver. His belt was black as night with the buckle showing three stars on it. He turned his head as he heard the Dragoon and opened his eyes which showed bright red mechanical eyes rather than normal ones which zoomed in on the ship. With a smile he pulled out a communicator and turned it on. He then spoke "Gregor I found the targets you wanted me to track. The fools flew right over me and now my hounds have their sent. Not the hunt you promised me."
Gregor respond "I know you like a challenge, Nathanial so I have one for you. The young boy Oscar, Ozpins newest body, we need him alive and talking."
"I'm not one for keeping my prey alive but I could make an exception just this once bringing in Ozpin alive will be quite the feat, especially with the silver eyed warrior amongst the fools followers." Nathaniel Orion replied.
"Good know that the Mistress wants this done as fast as possible. Time is of the essence." Gregor responded.
"I will get you your boy." Nathanial said before adding as an after thought "Please give Tyrion my hate." The cultist got up and turned off his communicator. The dark hunter gave a loud whistle and a group of massive wolf hounds ran up to him as he held out a part of a ripped green scarf. "Betelgeuse, Rigel, Bellatrix, Alnitak, Alnilam, Saiph get his scent. Let the hunt begin."
Inside the war RV the former defenders of Haven Academy were looking to each other for comfort. They had just lost a major battle against the greatest threat Remnant had ever seen. Salem now had the lamp and an army of Grimm that were more intelligent than animals at their beck and call. It seem that the war had shifted towards the side of evil. Oscar himself was just out of it. He wanted the truth to come out, to tell those that were looking to him to step up and become the leader for this war against Salem. The only reason that he didn't was that he didn't know everything himself. His own powers were a mystery to him and many, many memory's of his past lives were still just a blur mostly the older ones after his first reincarnation. With a sad breath he turned to the rest of the group. "Guys, I just need a moment." With that he turned and went up to the top bubble in the Battle RV, Ruby started to raise her hand like she wanted to signal him stop but didn't and sat down. Finally, by himself he broke down in tears.
Ozpin's voice echoed in his head once more. "I wish I could offer you some form of comfort Oscar, but alas Salem has changed the game so much that we need to play catchup if we have any hope of winning."
Oscar brow furrowed as he heard this. He barked back "A game is that what this is to you and her."
Ozpin quickly stated "No, this isn't a game. Perhaps my way of speaking was off. What is going on right now could decide the fate of Remnant"
Oscar growled out "Then why don't you tell them the truth rather than moving everyone along like chess pieces. We can't win this. Salem is invincible and now she has a way to summon the gods."
Ozpin said in response "Every time truth comes out Salem gains more ground. The despair that those who follow me grows. They lose heart and if that happens all will truly be lost. Salem doesn't know how to use the lamp we still have a chance."
"To do what! Die again and again. Just leave me alone!" Oscar yelled. He was expecting Ozpin to respond in some way but his head was silent. Another voice however spoke.
"I guess you don't wont some company" Ruby asked.
Oscar franticly waved his hands as he said "I was talking to the other guy. I actually could use some company. So where is Weiss I thought that you would want to be with her right now."
"Weiss wanted to talk with her sister about something." Ruby answered she moved to say more but she didn't.
The two to them sat in silence for some time just taking everything that had happened in the past day all in. it wasn't awkward but it wasn't comfortable either, it was just silence. Ruby was the first to talk. "I actually came up to ask Ozpin a question, but I can see that the two of you are having—issues."
"We share some memories. I might be able to answer something." Oscar said. He would respect Ozpins secrets for now, but they would have to come out sooner or later.
"Before we met. Weiss was in trouble and all of a sudden, my eyes lit up and became silver, next thing I knew Her attacker's arm was stone. What was that."
Oscar blinked before taking a deep breath before answering "The Silver eyes. According to Ozpin they are the mark of the God of Light. How you got them well…."
"Well, what" Ruby asked.
Oscar scratched the back of his head. "Ozpin is the champion of the gods. Any of his lives descendants have these eyes and before he was Ozpin he was your grandfather Oswald Rose."
