Purr

When she woke, it was to notice the growing shadows on the floors and the soft humming snore of the man beneath her. Or rather, the man whose lap she still occupied. Blushing, she glanced up at him and smiled when she realized it really was him who was snoring. Except, it sounded more like a purr.

It was the silent, shaking laughter that woke him and he opened one eye to glance down at her. It pleased him to see the tears were gone and that she seemed perfectly relaxed against him. "You are laughing," he said, making his voice bored in an attempt to hide the relief.

"You were purring," she accused, mirth filling her eyes as just for the moment, she forgot about everything else.

"Inu do not purr," he corrected, shifting his arms around her and poking her side.

She twitched at the soft poke and her eyes widened as a squeak escaped. Covering her mouth and attempting escape, she only groaned as understanding dawned in those mesmerizing eyes and he held her tighter. "Don't. You. Dare," she warned, trying and failing to imitate his tones.
